"Table 22 is ready!"
In the town of Belbridge, there was a restaurant in the city center that seemed to be all the rage to both the various tourists that came through and the locals of the town. It was called the Warmbelly Kitchen, and seemed to offer various courses from all over not only Cervia, but the world at large. From ugali to paella, fresh pickles to meat pies, they serve dishes coming from the various homes of the people who work the restaurant. It was a bit of a hot mess, a wild mix of furniture and decorations, and on busy nights people might be waiting a minute for their meal as there was only 4 main employees. Even with all that, every plate of fresh, home grown, and delicious food is worth it, and it is even for a decent price. The cook of this little operation, Santiago Cirilo, was deep into their evening shift, the dinner rush from about an hour or so ago had finally began to die off, and was replaced with a calmer, more relaxed late night customers. A lot of people weren't here for a meal, but a drink from their resident brewer and bartender, Judah. Still, there were plenty of people still hungry, this Table 22 meal of a warm and hearty beef stew was going to get cold if no one was coming to pick it up soon.
"Alright, guess I am delivering this one myself." Without even missing a beat, Santi would strip off his black apron and similar colored plastic gloves, throwing it onto a hook on the walk and the garbage respectively before stepping around the slightly worn out kitchen. Like most of the building, the kitchen wasn't as good as it could, but Santi prided himself on keeping it clean even in the midst of the craziest of rushes. It would need a bit of clean tonight, but that could wait in a few hours once the customers were gone. Kamil and Tatiana were probably off helping other customer's out, so Santi never minded pitching in on the waiting on people, since from time to time he needed help in the kitchen to keep up with orders. His snakes, golden color and ending in brown heads, were loosely tied up to stay out of his face, yet not tight so they weren't hurt. The gorgon's outfit on the other hand was less professional, some old baseball jersey he picked up from a thrift store (having never even figured out Cervian baseball), a pair of light colored jeans, a small golden chain and a pair of no slip sneakers. It was hard to say what he did at the restaurant to someone who didn't know the odd group of owners, but he walked with such an air of ownership that no one stayed in his way for long.
Stepping out from behind the curtained doorway that separated kitchen from the dining area, Santi moved from table to table until he found the right one, setting the plate down with his most charming smile.
"My apologies about that, Mister, we are looking for more help but for right now, food is going to get to you a little slower, why do you get a shot on me? Just tell the bartender that Santiago said it was okay for you to have one." Santiago's accent slipped out as he spoke, not yet use to "speaking Cervian" with its certain sound and slang, but he knew what to say to make people feel good about a bad thing. He made sure that the customer was doing okay with that deal before moving on.
Santiago was going to head back to the kitchen right away but was stopped by the sight of a long, green haired woman stepping into the door. She looked rather... refreshing for a lack of a better word, different in a way that really peeked the gorgon's interest. It was that or those clouded eyes that held him there for a moment it. Santi stared longer than he would admit before slipping away, needing to focus on work and not the fascinating woman waiting to be served. Making a small detour, he would climb the stairs to Judah's little bar, which had a few regulars and a smattering of tourists all itching for a strong drink. Moving his way behind the counter, he would get the Were's attention with a small peck to the side of his neck, ignoring the customers who watch the scene with a surprised smile.
"Hey, I have an annoyed customer I offered a shot for how slow the food is coming. Also... you need anything? I only got one order, and its in the oven for another 3 minutes, so I can do something quick for you."
