CLOSED SIDE STORY Heartless Shell -- A Rescue Mission

  • So many newbies lately! Here is a very important PSA about one of our most vital content policies! Read it even if you are an ancient member!
Luer was at least relieved everyone made it in time, giving a small smile. He was also thankful that Vaudeville had his bow, which during the annoying frog's conversation was returned. Though little of what was said truly made sense to him, he simply focused on the fact that everyone was relatively unharmed.

Until everything got fucked over. To say a change in scenery was one thing, but this was awful. Of course they had to be floating… it always had to be unstable ground. He groaned to himself, kneeling down to try keeping some sense of direction before he got too dizzy. Where even were they?

He locked up for a moment at that laugh, looking up when the heartless began to fall onto the platform. What the hell?? He winced and gasped when Carnage himself emerged on top something so massive he feared the platform would tip entirely. What the actual hell!? He glanced to Snake when he spoke though and his brows creased. That was true… There was no way though… He never answered, there should be no reason to do this after helping him. What was that bastard up to? "Che. I should have known better…" He did not trust him, but still, this was just unfair.

His brows creased as that giant raised its foot. He truly planned to crush them in one step, never mind the dozens of other enemies they have to deal with. Dammit all. He did at least give a thankful look to Pip, since her barrier was comforting and should keep them safe for the moment. He should… he knew he should stay here. He stood no true chance, but dammit all if he was not going to try and help.

"Here we go again." Vaudeville growls and frowns up at the giant mech about step on them all. They leap up from the floor, grab onto the foot, and climb it using their sharpened limbs to stab into the metal.

"We know theres a yummy brain under all that red! And we are hungry!"
"HAHAHA! WE'LL MAKE A SYMBIOTE OUT OF YOU YET!"
Carnage taunted, watching as she climbed the metal gear. Yet, Carnage already had a plan for that.

He fired several rockets out of the metal gear, aimed at itself.

It looked like there wouldn't be much resting time. The search from the sage mode had not brought anything before they were dragged into yet another fight. Tokui decided not to let the nature chakra go to waste. The last clone vanished, focusing all of his chakra in a single body. His eyes then turned to this Carnage thing and the machine it had summoned.

The yellow thing made a beeline for Carnage, while its plan was something along the lines of blowing them all off the small platform with explosives. Not on his watch.

As the missiles reoriented themselves, They were intercepted by water dragons that erupted from around Tokui's feet. Swiftly engulfing them all and taking the brunt of the explosions, resulting in a brief rain dumping on them all.

For his next move Tokui started sprinting towards the mechanic beast, purposefully not blinding it away from him with his speed, but clearly approaching it. While he did, he prepped a kunai and some razor wire.

"That was so ninja!" Vaudeville exclaims excitedly from the mechs leg where they are clawing into the metal housing to get at the insides. All they had to do was get inside. Then they could start gutting it and focus on ripping the host out of Carnage.

Luer took a breath. If he died again, so be it, but he sure as hell was not going to do nothing. The only thing is, he knew what would happen if he tried. He needed something more, something to ensure it does not. Out of those here, there were only two or three that could even do what he wanted to… probably.

So be it. "I need something small, and explosive." He stated, pulling an arrow and in general making it pretty obvious what he wanted it for. "Something that will not weigh it down too much. Any of you have that by chance?"

Alande thinks for a moment. Lightweight, lots of explosive potential, fits on an arrow. Probably a liquid that'd stick to metal and cause an explosive reaction when it makes contact with Carnage's flesh. It wasn't his field, but he did have something from a friend. He takes a vial out of his jacket and tosses it at Luer.

"This works. Don't drink it."

Of course this pretentious bastard spoke up first. Luer caught the vial and examined it for a moment, but he nodded and chortled. "Better not blow up before I shoot it." He said simply. Tying it to the arrow was easy enough. He did not really like losing arrows intentionally like this, the poor thing would certainly not survive the explosion, but that was a small sacrifice he could live with. He looked to Pip and smiled. "Keep them safe."

"ANNA, I need that armor now."
She was fast enough he did not wait for a response nor for the armor, since he knew it would be on him before his arrow flew, and stepped out of Pip's dome. The other larger fighters could handle that foot coming down at them.

His aim locked on to Carnage quickly. "I'm back too, bitch." It was, of course, entirely a mumble to himself as he shot the arrow towards the symbiote. With any luck, that bastard would not think twice to try and repeat what he did on the bridge.

Carnage swung an ax at Vaud's head once she reached his position, and like the Snakes before them, began battling each other atop the metal gear; while the machine itself fired upon Tokui with its gatling gun armaments. His quick movement would make him dodge the barrage of bullets, and when passing under the metal gear itself, he could plant his kunai into one of its legs and wrap his razor wire around like an AT-AT.

And while Carnage and Vaud tried ripping each other out of their symbiotic body, Luer would find his chance to fire upon the red and black monster once Vaud was out of the way. With Carnage himself not noticing the arrow in time; turning his head to face where Luer and co were, only to get the arrow right in the face.

Once more, the Symbiote screamed in pain, losing control of the metal gear; frantically firing its guns in one last mass attack. But, with its legs bound together, it slowly began toppling over the edge of the platform; falling into the timeless abyss. Carnage screamed out in anguish as he and the metal gear vanished from sight; absorbed into the colors of the revolving space.

With the protection needed, the frog glowed a more intense blue aura around itself, as time and space was changed, until a final flash of light blew outwards from the small reptile. When they could all see once more, the world was back. But not Big Shell itself.

It was gone. They were still standing on the platform, but it was now floating against the calm waters of the ocean, with the sun shining down upon them as the fog vanished. They had fixed the broken part of time. And, on their communicators, a call came in from under the ocean itself. It was from Randi, saying he doesn't know what they did, but the Heartless are all gone from his ship, and he has control again. He's coming up to get them out and return them all to the Pathfinder with the rest of the scattered still alive with him.

Their mission was a success. But there were still questions to be answered.

Ones for another time...
