Agent Dorothy Winston

Solovia was her home, after so many years of loss and grief. Formerly an Agent of the early foundations of S.H.I.E.L.D during the warring years of Hitler's rule over Germany. The prominent woman with a vast amount of skills found herself involved with the creation of the very first Avenger. Captain America- or the more formal Steve Rogers, a sweet young man from Boston. Befriending and coming to love the Captain from a distance, she aided his efforts to join the war efforts rather than being a circus performer. Though the greatest efforts of the brave Steve Rogers-, he was lost to the world at the end of the war. No one knew where indeed he'd gone, though after some time it became popular belief that he was dead. But, all that was years ago, seventy-three years to be exact.

Solovia in the year 2015, had fallen prey to the attack of creation by Tony Stark that went rogue.

Miss Dorothy Winston had once more taken on birthname, much like she did some seventy-years ago during the war. But rather the life of an agent, she's a modest woman that contributes long hours to the office she works in. She was busy typing away at her desktop computer when the first explosion riddled through the building. A large number of people were left seriously maimed and some even laid death on the carpeted floor which soaked up there. The shock had settled into her mind, as blood wept from a sticky wound on her brow. Bits of brains and organ showered the top of her desk when she pulled herself out from underneath it.

Sirens of evacuation rung through the various floors of the collapsing building. No one, not a sobbing soul made a move on her floor. It was still, and almost hauntingly quiet. Something the one hundred and sixty-nine-year-old woman could very easily compare to- silent pictures and the rattling of shells during the last two world wars she was in. So she knew that those people had to get out of there, right then and there.

Kicking her busy office heels off and under her desk, the woman began to go around to the people still alive and encourage them to leave with her. Knowing it was the only hope for them to get out now and alive. Her heart raced, pounding against her chest. Able-bodied people who weren't injured carried the injured out, going down the stairs floor by floor pulling nervous wrecks out of the now burning building. Helping people find older buildings to hide in amongst the chaos, Dorothy decided to help the police. Their goal was to evacuate the city and all the people in it. Not one person was apparently going to be on this rock when something tragic was going to happen.

Along her attempts to get people out of the city, she was hit by some flying debris. Stumbling back and falling against the ground, huffing roughly due to the winding the fallback debris and hit caused her. Blonde hair stained a different shade due to the blood seeping from her head wound. Casual office attire; blue-grey blouse and washed out blue jeans were dirtied. Her black canvas tennis shoes were stained by the carpet in her office building, and brick dust.

Vaguely looking around trying to figure out where she was, Dorothy felt like her state of consciousness slipping. It could have been a hopeless dream, but there he was. The lost soldier she loved so dearly. Across the battlefield, she found her strength once more pulling herself up.

One of the robots had him in their line of aim, reaching down to pluck a weapon from a dead army officer. Dot prepared the automatic weapon and fired at the damaged bot. Watching it begin to glitch before exploding, Dorothy huffed feeling a sense of accomplishment in getting the bot. "It's good to see you alive, Steve... Don't look a day older from what I last saw you." Dot waved to the American, her English accent dancing on the tip of her tongue.

The work of the Avengers is never done, they can save the world from an alien invasion and a pissed off trickster god with serious daddy issues from what Steve learned from said god's older brother. That battle in itself was a tough one, lots of lives were lost and New York was badly damaged. But good always triumphs over evil and always will, at least in Steve's mind.

But they were the defenders of the earth, if something was threatening the people they were there to save it. But there was also time for them to relax, sit back and enjoy the life. For Steve that meant getting used to living in the twenty-first century, and that was a big adjustment but he was slowly getting used to it and even enjoying it.

But once again the universe needed them, and they were there to save it.

A killer robot? Stark had to create a killer robot? This thought ran heavily through the Captain's mind, still not quite up-to-date on technology there was one thing he did know if something isn't broken do not bother fixing. Of it it seems like a bad idea it probably is, now they were in a small city in Europe fighting to protect it's people and saving the city. Taking a breath he knocked away one robot only to be caught off guard by another and soon a voice was heard, one that saved his life.

Turning to see where the voice came from he was in near shock seeing a familiar face, someone whom he hadn't seen in a very long time. "Dorthy, it that really you?" Steve asked as he hit a robot coming towards them with his shield, "what are you doing here? I mean, how?" He attacked another robot that was coming from the right side, "are you okay? Are you hurt?" That was a main concern of his, more so on the hows and what's of her being here.

"Gosh don't you have other things to worry about?!" Agent Winston yelled at the Super Soldier, flinching at the sound of the robot being hit with the vibranium shield that was his primary weapon. The sing of the metal was enough to make her eyes want to roll back into her head. Touching the blood that ran down from her nose, Dot didn't appear overly bothered by it. "I'm fine, it's most likely from when one of those things hit the building I worked in and exploded." Observing the mass grouping of killer robots, watching as a few drew close once more making her frown.

Pulling back the loading mechanism on the gun she picked up. Aiming it at three robots that running towards them. Steady finger over the trigger. She waited for a moment waiting for them to draw closer before pushing the firing mechanism and quickly repeating her last few actions. One by one taking down the robots, shards of metal blowing across the ground with each firing shot.

"Whose bright idea was it to do this?" Dorothy dared to ask the Captain, having a fair belief that he'd know who was responsible. Already vaguely drawing an idea on who might have caused such a thing, but it was almost, always better to have a confirm on that before acting on it. Grabbing and pulling Steve out of the way of an oncoming attack, the blonde's head whipped around throwing long messy strands over her shoulder.

Rough breaths leaving her lungs, as they screamed at her for all the vast activities after so long. It had been seventy years since she had been in combat. During the war mainly stationed on a watch for Mister Winston Churchill. That was until she was contacted by a secret organisation in America that needed someone of her calibre. Her knowledge of science and level intellect in the field had found establishing a connection between the German scientist known as Abraham Erskine. "Aren't we a little old for this..." Agent Winston commented in a huff, offering a smile back at her dear friend. A man that she had admired from a distance and in memory for so long.

Holding the side of her left rib where she felt a stitch pull, Dorothy, frowned. Physically looking rather pained, she wobbled on her footing feeling the earth rumble. Watching the ground begin to crack like an egg, right around the place she called home. "Oh no," Dorothy said sensing something was terribly wrong as she made a dash for the traffic bridge that people trying to get out of the city by.

Running by cars she would roughly pull doors open, locked or not. The events of her lack of ageing had also given her quite a level of strength. Throwing some doors at robots that tried attacking the innocent people trying to flee. Dorothy couldn't help but frown at some of the people she was trying to help that just frost. "Get out of here!" She yelled, taking a hit from one of the robots while distracted. Struggling against the body of the robot she felt it catch her hand. Before the metal hand gripped her wrist, crushing it within its palm.

Screaming in agony, Dot managed to get herself free of the robot before any more damage was done. Grasping her wrist, supporting it she tried to keep people moving. Glass from the windscreens of old cars digging into her now bare feet. The robot followed closely after her, damaged from her attempts escape it.

Steve kept attacking, "well you remember Howard Stark? Turns out he had a son who is just like him, brilliant but arrogant." He told her as he moved along helping people escape from danger, he looked down at the woman's feet. "Did you forget to bring your shoes?" He asked as he put his shield on his back and scooped her up in his arms, there was no way he was letting her continue to walk on broken debris.

Quickly he made their way from the battle, for now at least. He sat her down on some fallen stone, "wait here a moment." He spoke before running away and found a tiny shop that was now abandoned, "sorry...I need these," he spoke to nobody. He felt bad for taking a pair of shoes without paying but under the circumstances, he was sure the owner would understand. Finally, he made his way back to Dot with the right size shoes for her, "thought you could use these." He smiled handing them over.

He sat down for a moment to catch his breath, he was starting to wear down but he wouldn't give up. He couldn't give up, "alright. We've rested enough, we need to continue to fight for this city. To protect the people," he spoke removing his shield from his back. "When this is over you and I will have a proper reunion and we can tell each other our life stories," Steve told her flashing his charming smile before heading back out to the battle.

"Cap," Tony's voice rang through the earpiece. "Where are you, are you okay?" He asked.

"Yes Tony I'm fine," he assured him. "What are we going to do to stop these things, they keep coming."

"I'm working on it," Tony told him as he attacked his own enemies.

Agent Winston couldn't believe what Steve was doing when he scooped her up into his arm, causing a surprised yelp from her. As instinctively she went to hold onto him, only further injurying the badly broken wrist Dorothy was now nursing. Placed on a rock or piece from a destroyed building, before Steve ran off once more. She couldn't help but feel like a sitting duck, clutching her pistol Dorothy kept well on guard until Captain Rogers arrived.

Staring at the shoes for a moment before putting her gun to the side, and gaining the pair of shoes he offered her. Thanking him in a light tone of voice. Plunking shards of broken glass from her feet, throwing the shards on the ground covered in blood. Pulling the shoes onto her feet after wrapping them with a torn piece of fabric from her blouse.

Gazing to the hero who looked tired and worn, trying to catch his breath. "This is like world war one and two combined... And this is only one city." Dorothy stated trying to wrap her head around everything. Standing up once more she groaned in pain, smiling at her old friend. "Sure, but mine is a long story that goes back further than you think." The old S.S.R agent laughed before waving to Steve watching him run off back to battle.

Strolling off away from the battle Dorothy Winston began to scrap around for anything that could possibly drain the power of the robots. Finding a brace for her now broke wrist was a plus, as she tightened the strap with her teeth and placed it down. With well-practised hands. The educated daughter of the Victorian scientist retraced her father's explosive experiments and procured a few useful bombs out of those memories. Stuffing things into a bag, Dot's other device that could slow the robots down was slipped into her pocket.

Jumping out the broken window of the store the woman began to head off back towards the fight. On almost ending of safe land a shadow stepped out in front of her, a gangster that was known as trouble in the slums. "Can't talk now, saving the world," Dorothy commented offering the bigger man a middle finger salute before continuing on her way, bag in hand.

Yet, the fool decided to yell at her and reach out to grab her arm. This was it. In a quiet place, it could have been like he had just dropped a pin for everyone to hear, or stepped on a branch and let it crack under his foot. But, the thing that was snapping this time was the switch to Dorothy's rather violent temper. Swinging around she buried her fist into the man's face, before carrying on her way.

"Like I said saying the world, stuff you wouldn't understand." She commented in a cool manner, stepping back onto the open ground of battle once more.

Reaching Steve's position she jogged up to him, grabbing out an armed explosive from the back before throwing it overarm into the air. Mocking laughter rang through from the robots, which made her simply cock a brow. "Raise the shield, we're going to need some cover." Agent Winston whispered to Steve, before drawing closer to him at the moment the bomb went off. Cupping her hand over his eyes, and burying her head into his chest to shield herself from the bright flare that lit up the area around them.

Sparks were heard when she drew back from the Captain, coughing into the back of her hand at the smoke had always bothered her lungs. On the ground was the dismembered bodies of the mocking robots, none were left. "Tell Stark we're done here, we have people to evacuate," Dot told the Captain in a strong accent that told them their mission now, before heading off towards where the larger group of people were.

Looking at Dot Steve nodded, "Tony we need to evacuate these people." He commanded, "the city is going to crumble. We have to move fast," he added as he kept attacking the robots who were coming towards them.

Tony was already on that, air shuttles were arriving and the other Avengers were getting the people on them. "Cap, we are starting an evac already. We just need a little more time to distract these SOBs," Tony spoke as he landed on the ground and walked to them. "Who's this?" Tony asked looking at Dot.

"Dorothy Winston, I actually know her from my time. It's a long story," Steve replied. "Dorthy meet Tony Stark, Howard Stark's son." He told her, "where are the others?"

"Well Hawkeye is with the twins, Widow is helping others get off this place, Thor is probably smashing some shit along with the Hulk." Tony replied, "and we need to go right now. We need to gather the survivors and leave this rock, so if you are planning to get off we need to go now." He added before flying off.

Steve watched him, "so yeah that's Tony. You see when I was unfrozen I joined a group of heroes, I am sure you've heard all about New York? Well that was me, well and the others. You can meet them when we are done here but Tony is right we have to keep moving, come on." He took her by the hand and started to move faster.

Agent Winston looked at the newer arrival, the imfamous Tony Stark. Son of a former friend Howard Stark. Under the circumstances she couldn't feel happy about seeing him though, offering him a fake smile through gritted teeth. "Pleasure Mister Stark, but formalities of who and what I am can wait." She stated in a rather blunt manner, throwing the device she made at an on coming pack of robots. Pressing the trigger to release the suspended volts into the metal bots. Watching them collaspe in a heap, shards of electric currents still running through them.

Turning her gaze back towards Tony and gazing back to Steve. Dorothy listened to what they were reporting to one another. Winds thrashed at them, as the city began to rise up into the sky. "Is anyone at the church?" Dot interjected looking towards the center of the city. "It's the city center and if something happens there it will be the end of the whole city. Before anyone can get off this bloody piece of rock." Dot told the two men folding her arms over her chest before Iron Man flew off to fix his mess.

Running with Steve as the drew towards the air shuttles, dodging falling ruins in their wake. Huffing she listened to what he had to say. Getting to the clearance area, Dorothy saw the masses of people huddled together all have rubble and dust on them. Some even coated in a thick layer of blood. "This is worse than I could possibly imagine, man, getting too old to be picking up after other people..." Agent Winston commented huffing out a sigh, looking to Cap before jogging off and joining the fire.

Stretching out she groaned at the cracking on her bones, her injured wrist even cracked and made a grinding noise from the broken bones rubbing together. Embracing the chance to fight once more, she found herself grabbed a robot by the foot as it tried to fly towards the air shuttle full of people. Pulling it by strength, and throwing it into the ground Dot huffed out a satisfied smile at the damage her strength had done.

People who knew her on the crumbling city stood in shock at her strength but cheered happily. Running forward heading towards the air shuttles when she waved them through a clear line. Tackled by a robot she stubbornly kicked at the creation of Stark's. "Steve! Check if anyone is at the church! It's the center point if that bot that's leading these guys wants a massive effect it would be at the church..." The S.S.R agent yelled to her friend, staring at the robot. Freezing the moment it speaks to her.

"Dorothy May Winston... That's a name that pops up in history all the time. Daughter of science, a veteran of all wars these pathetic humans. Don't you think its time to end it all?" The robot grabbed her throat lifting her off the ground, squeezing tightly. As she fought the woman gasped feeling the crushing of her windpipe. Paling in the face, her hands tried to pry his fingers apart. Fear rising in her eyes, the struggle began to get harder and harder.

Steve didn't want to leave Dot but he knew she could handle anything that came at her, she always had an unusually high strength which back when he first met her surprised him however that all changed when he met Natasha. Nodding he ran towards the church kicking away debris as he did so, the number of robots seemed to slowly deplete. However that could all change, there could be more just waiting for orders to attack. Taking a deep breath he jumped over a large piece of a building before making his way to the church, kicking open the doors he looked around. There were a few people hiding in the pews, "come on. Don't be scared I'm here to help you," he spoke wondering if they understood what he was saying.

Holding out his hand he offered a sincere look, "I will take you to safety. Follow me," he told them.

Eventually, they stood up and started to follow the super soldier out of the church, seeing their city in ruins and the blood on the ground scared them. "Don't look at the ground, just look forward." Steve instructed as he led them towards one of the carriers, "Clint!" Steve called out to the former assassin, "I have more survivours. Can we fit them?"

"Of course, there is plenty of room." He replied, "come aboard everyone. Quickly now," he told the small group. Clint took a breath and looked at Steve, "I think that's all of the survivors in this block."

Steve nodded, "yes. Go with them Clint, I have the rest covered." He told his friend, "and no protesting. You have a family to think about, hurry."

Clint sighed and jumped on the ship, "go. Let's get out of here." He told the pilot who made off with the first round of survivors.

Once the ship was out of sight Steve ran back towards Dot, there was no way he was letting her face anything alone.

Agent Dorothy Winston
Struggling at the grip of the robot, Dorothy gasped for air. She heard foot steps drawing nearer and nearer once more. Steve? Agent Winston dared to hope that it was her good friend coming to help her out. Slowly, her hands began to slip from the robot's as the clenched hand around her throat had really done some damage. Her head rolled back in a state of unconiousness, all area her she heard the echos of people yelling out for help.

Thrown to the side, her body was limp breathing shallow. Blood from her wounded had clotted. Agent Winston's injuries weren't unrepairable, but it was clear in the state of her left wrist, and hand that surgery was the only option. Glass from the window she went through was in her hair, little cuts riddled her face.

Weakly opening her eyes the hundred and sixty-nine year old looked rather dazed and somewhat confused. Looking around the store, trying to pull herself up. "Shit..." Dorothy mumbled in a hoarse tone, trying to anything get a word out without it being extremely painful. Pulling herself to her feet, Dot strapped her injured arm to her chest. Climbing out of the window, looking around for if there were any more people.

A loud metallic foot landed in the earth beside her, as she looked at a bigger robot in a gaze of fear. "How is it that you're so damn persistent?" Ultron said to the woman before him, taking a step forward looking over her injured appearance. "Wouldn't it be better if these ungrateful humans just died, it's not like you're one anymore. You don't seek their chaos, it just seems to follow you." He continued touching the smaller woman's cheek, the blood crusted from her wounds staining his metal fingers.

Steve threw his shield at the genocidal robot, "you know I thought I'd never see a time where someone wanted to destroy a group of people again but here we are." Steve replied rushing to Dot's side, he slowly helped her to her feet and put her behind him and waited for his shield to return. "And you wanna know what happened to that man, well actually you should know. I mean after all, you know everything right?" He spoke before looking back at Dot, "your time is up Ultron. You will not win, now if you'll excuse us. We'll be leaving." He held out his arm and grabbed his shield before placing it on his back and picking Dot up in his arms giving her a gentle smile, "I'll get you away from here and then we can see to your injuries." He then started to run away while Ultron was down, the nearest ship wasn't too far away which was a good thing as even Steve was starting to grow weary of the battle.

Though they did have some help, Thor joined up with them. "Steve, who is this?" He asked looking at the injured woman in his friend's arms, he then saw Ultron coming their way. "Go, I will take care of him. You need to get her some medical attention, I will follow you." He told them as he started to spin his hammer around, "come and get me."

Steve nodded and looked at Dot before continuing on their way, "so yeah that's Thor." He smiled at her as he continued to run, "it's nice having someone who does not understand the same things you do when it comes to technology." He chuckled a little, "you'd like him. He's a great guy, loyal to his friends."

Laboured breathing made it hard for the young to concentrate. Her brain was so deprived on oxygen it made her head throb. Wobbly on her footing, the agent rubbed her neck. Red marks lingered over the pale skin of Dorothy's neck. Desperately she watched the interaction between the super soldier and genocidal robot, hoping to see something at least come from the confrontation. Holding onto Cap as he ran, Dot rested her head into his chest.

Struggling with consciousness after the beating she was handed by Ultron. Lifting her head felt like such a chore when Thor approached them. The Asgardain, and the source of Norse myths and legends about their God of Thunder. Groaning in pain when she rose her head, before letting it fall back to the left. Against the muscular chest of the man, she admired so long ago from the distance. Glad when Thor let them continue on their way, as each breath felt like agony. Closing her eyes she listened to Steve describe his new friends.

Just as they got to an air shuttle, and one of the staff members came to their aid. Dorothy began wheezing and coughing heavily. Her condition worsening enough to drain the colour of her face. Speaking to her the staff member tried to check her responses to pain before carefully unbuttoning part of her blouse to check ribs. Respiratory distress was apparent as her condition swiftly grew worse. Coughing harder until blood came up, the staff member radioed in.

"We have a female roughly twenty-four to twenty-five years of age, she's gone into a high level of respiratory system stress. Believed collapsed and punctured a lung, from observations and bruising. Coughing up blood. This is important sir if we don't get her out of here she's just going to die." The air shuttle's second staffer said before gazing to the driver with a concerned look.

Taking off his jumper draping in onto Agent Winston trying to keep her warm and comfortable as it was growing colder the higher the city rose. Quickly calling out for more people to get on the air shuttle so they could move, the staff member of S.H.I.E.L.D gave a look of empathy to Captain America.

Squeezing Steve's hand in fright, the woman coughed in discomfort. Truly she was in worse condition than when her family home blew up in the 1870s. Murmuring, sobs and panic echoed through her ears as mother's held onto their children in the air shuttle. Rushing around one of the air shuttle's crew looked for a doctor on board, finding one he showed him to the suffering woman.

A syringe was drawn and pierced through her skin to the collapsed lung. Removing the needle and leaving the plastic casing, the doctor held Dot's uninjured wrist tracking her pulse. Air finally began to release from her collapsed/punctured lung, allowing Dorothy to breathe a little easier for now until she could get further medical attention. "Keep her comfortable, maybe by talking to her. This will help her for now as an emergency but she'll possibly need further medical treatment." The doctor told Captain America.

Once the all clear to leave was to go, Dorothy turned her head to look at the place she knew as home for the last ten years. It felt numb to lose her home in such a way, almost cruel. Tired and emotional, Miss Winston closed her eyes for a moment allowing tears to fall. Fuck, now I'm going to have to find another home again. She thought opening her eyes once more, looking at all the worried faces around her.

Steve stayed by Dot's side as she was being treated, "hey now don't be falling asleep." He spoke stroking her cheek, "I need you to stay awake until we get to the hospital. Then once you are all better how about I take you out for a drink and we can really catch up," he smiled flashing that charming smile. He then looked down at the city as they were being taken away, it was completely destroyed. But that wasn't what mattered, survivors were the more important issue. At least they were able to rescue the people, taking a deep breath Steve sat down next to Dot. "Everything is going to be okay, may take a while but it will get better. And if you need a place to stay there is room at the tower, I'm sure Stark won't mind. Just as long as you can put up with him," he laughed. "Well come to think of it I think we are moving to a compound, apparently we need a bigger space."

A full day had passed and Steve remained at the hospital room in the Avengers compound, he watched over Dot making sure she was comfortable. The doctors assured Steve that she was going to recover just fine and that she would be released from the room by the end of the day, "thank you. I am sure she would be glad to hear that, Dot is not one to sit around for very long." He chuckled.

Steve took a deep breath and sat back in his seat feeling a sense of relief, the fight with Ultron was over and the AI was stopped. But their fight wasn't really over, they still had to deal with the fallout. A city was completely destroyed, surely the government will be involved, Steve was just relieved they had the compound where they could hide out and figure what to do next.

Walking up in the hosptial bed, she looked to the cast on her left hand and wrist. Before turning over on her side, making sure not to put any pressure on her sore side. "How long have you been there, Steve?" Dot asked in a tired tone of voice sitting up in bed, lightly swing her legs over the side. Dressed in a rather modest nightgown, with thin straps.

"I hope you've at the very least gotten some rest." She told him in a light tone of voice, huffing out a tired sigh. Combing her fingers through messy golden bed hair, agent waited on an answer from him. Though deep down she didn't think he would have rested while she was in the hospital, it in surgery getting plates put into her hand and wrist. "Remind me to punch Stark later, bloody idiot..." She grumbled rubbing her eyes tiredly before pulled a smile to Steve.

Stretching lightly she groaned feeling the ache of a few cracked ribs. Slipping out of bed, Miss Winston glared at the intravenous in her arm. Reading the labels on the plastic bag of fluids, "Modern medicine surely is impressive, they've come a rather long way wouldn't you think. Considering it wasn't all that uncommon to have a fatality after an operation like might..." Dorothy cocked a smirk, before sitting down on the bed drawing the blanket over her shoulder.

Scanning around the modern interior of the room, she spotted a file by her bedside. Carefully picking it up, it was her agent files. Something she hadn't seen in an extremely long time. Flipping through the paperwork she read cases, and missions she works during the second world war. All filling her with fond memories. One thing that did that the most for her was working on the Super Soldier Program with Peggy Carter and Steve Rogers.

"I can't believe how long ago this photograph was taken..." Dorothy Winston cracked a soft smile, before looking back to Steve. Showing him her recruitment photograph. She looked not a day older than twenty-four. Blonde hair styled in the popular fashion that was current in England, as her uniform was neatly pressed and worn. Lips were coated in a deep shade of lipstick, that made her smile look rather iconic. Though the cheekiness behind her eyes is what finished the photo.

"Would you believe I was older than Colonel Phillips in that photo? It just so happened to be the second time I could use my proper name again too." She told Steve Rogers, offering him a gentle smile. "They choose me for the S.S.R because managed to demonstrate in my service to Winston Churchill that I had the ability to understand science, and more relevantly get information out of a scientist by appealing to their interests." Dot told Captain Rogers how she happened to become an agent, popping the photo back into the file, placing it on the bedside table once more.

Lifting her gaze to the door where a few faces appeared from. Some she remembered recently seeing some she didn't. "Steve, I think your friends are here to see you..." She stated in a quiet voice, eyeing the African-Amercian man who wore an eyepatch.

"Do not worry I did get some sleep, it was in this very chair." Steve told her, "I am fine. You know that I don't really need a lot of sleep, in fact when I was first unfrozen I barely slept. Memories of the war, Red Skull, Bucky..." Steve spoke taking a deep breath, "all of those memories kept me from sleeping. Well that and the hundred-year sleep," he chuckled. "All I wanted to do was fight in the war, I would watch recruitment ads that played before the movies and they really made me want to join each time. But because of my health and small size, I was rejected, one officer even said he was saving my life. But it didn't feel like that, I felt like I was betraying my country."

Steve sat back in his seat, "but look at me now. I volunteered myself for an experiment which should have killed me but didn't, I was able to fight in the war and save lives. You and I have been through a lot, we are the only ones who will really understand it. It's nice to see you again, really it is. Having someone who can share your life experiences with is pretty great." He smiled before looking to the door, "that's Nick Fury. Director of SHIELD, do not worry about him. He's a good friend," Steve assured her and stood up. "Nick, what's up?"

Fury stepped into the room, "sorry to disturb you both. I'm just wanting to check in on our patient, how are you feeling Miss Winston?" He asked, "you know here I was thinking only Cap and The Winter Soldier here were the only humans experiment on but I was wrong. You have quite the history young lady, I would be very much interested to hear about it. When you are better of course."

Steve looked over at Dorothy, "I am sure she can tell you what you need to know when she is ready sir." He spoke looking back at the director, "but right now she needs all the rest she can get. And her life is personal, I hope you won't be upset if she decides not to tell you anything."

Fury put his hands behind his back, "well if she has nothing to hide then there shouldn't be a problem in her telling us correct?" He asked looking at the young woman.

Agent Dorothy Winston
"Your mind was still stuck in that time, for all you knew it was the nineteen-forties. I can relate to that. You had everything back then, people that loved you and a girl waiting for you." Dorothy rested back on her side in the bed, before letting out a soft sigh. Brushing hair behind her ears, she smiled fondly thinking about the recruitment ads and old memories before watching the new face make his presence known.

"I'm fine Director Fury, just a little sore and vague from the medications they used." Agent Winston commented in a light tone of voice. Resting her head on her palm, smirking lightly at his comment about Bucky and Steve being the only ones. "That's because there isn't a file on me, what happened to me was an accident." She stated truthfully, offering Steve a light smile when he got defensive over her. It did help her a little more in regards to talking to Fury not feeling like a complete interrogation.

"I was no experiment conducted by the S.S.R or Hydra. My father was a scientist, a man who had a mind beyond his years. Someone who was laughed at and treated like a fool for his theories." Dorothy remembered her father fondly, holding a solemn side to her gaze that was at her hands. "His idea was to try and stop the ageing process, leaving the body in a permanent status of youth. It was madness I knew that, but I couldn't shake his reasoning. A family was his pride, and he didn't want to leave me alone with no one, since when he died there truly wouldn't be anyone left." Dorothy told Director Fury without breaking eye contact with him, reaching to the side table picking up a pen and notepad. Scribbling down a list of her alias for the files he could pull, before breaking eye contact with the man. "But we all must die..."

Getting quite frustrated with the intravenous drip in her arm, the woman roughly pulled it out of the vein. Throwing to the floor. Before getting comfortable, resting her head back. "I was born on New Years Day, 1849. The first child born that year in London, from memory they published it in the newspaper because my father was a respected scientist and mother an heiress who left it all to be with my father." Dorothy began telling her long story from where it began, looking down at the notepad she turned over the paper drawing up a sketch of a saddened man who held something noble about him. That man was her father, the respective: Mister Augustine Richard Winston.

"My mother died when I was young, influenza from memory. It killed my older brother in the same year. Shunned by the last of my mother's family and my father being an orphan, he was quite literately my only family left." Dorothy May explained looking at the sketch allowing a single tear to roll down her right cheek. "I had just turned twenty-four when the test for my father's theory exploded killing him and changing my life forever. Waking up in a hospital bed some weeks later, everyone was sure I was dead. After all, they didn't have the advanced technology from this modern age in the year of 1870. Apparently, they had planned to bury me, but an associate of my father refused and took me in. Almost died of fright when I actually woke up." She laughed fondly recalling the first expression she had seen when Miss Winston had woken up for the first time.

Recalling how quickly Agent Winston learnt that the sign of ageing had completely stopped for her, was watching people younger than her surpass the process she was in. "I learnt that I happened to have strength like no other, and a faster rate of healing, though by the age of my early thirties I still looked like a considerably young adult. People began to ask questions, so I found it better to just disappear an take up a completely new life in the smaller area of Birmingham, Small Heath. There was the first time I changed my name and became known as a completely new person. Annabeth May Carter." She smiled softly thinking about things.

It took some hours to go through the level of her story, how heart-wrecking some of the parts were. She had been married for a time before illness took the man she loved, their child was stillborn. Dorothy told Fury that was when she decided to admire for a further distance, and that when it seemed appropriate she became a working-class woman for Prime Minister Winston Churchill. A man she trusted with her secret, and surprisingly he kept it for her. Helping her even change names throughout the years. During her service to him, she served in the efforts for World War One, her name; Mildred "Millie" Augustine.

By the age of ninety-five years old, Winston Churchill suggested her services to the S.S.R and she became a founding member much like Chester Phillips and Peggy Carter.

That was when her history linked to Captain America's, her emotions were rather raw at that time. It wasn't every day she was told to tell someone her story and mean the full story. She had befriended the scientist the did the super soldier experiment, and was in charge of protecting the formula a secret she still remembers to this day. She had explained by the end of the second world war, she just made it looked like she had died in Berlin, Germany on another mission after Steve when missing. Her reasoning was she couldn't bare to go home only to see who wasn't there anymore, and watch her remaining friends died as she remained frozen in time.

Emotionally exhausted by the end of the story, she stared at Fury with bloodshot eyes. Tear stained cheeks. "Is that enough for you?" Dorothy asked him before placing him a full notepad of notes, and a list of names she used to live under in certain periods of time. All names were dated at the side, on the next page was addresses she used to live at. Then few sketches that were scribbled down, from her father, husband, her stillborn daughter and a few people she distinctly remembered. More distinctly there was a sketch of young Steve Rogers before he had the experiement. It connected the sweet innocence in him at the time rather perfectly.

Steve and Fury listened to her story, Steve really didn't know much about Dot's past. He knew she was like him, a result of an experiment but nothing too detailed. Steve reached over and squeezed her hand and gave her a small smile, "thank you for sharing your story. I had no idea what your past entailed," he spoke before looking at Fury. "You can trust Dot, I trust her with my life. She was there when I went through the soldier experiment."

Fury looked at her for a moment and down at all the information she gave him, he would look into it just to be sure but for now, he would take the Cap's word. Steve never gave him a reason not to trust him, "I believe you. And yes thank you for sharing all of this information with me," he spoke. "I will let you get some rest," he added as he turned to leave the room. "Oh Thor is leaving soon if you wish to say goodbye to him," he told Steve before leaving.

Steve turned back to Dot, "I can only imagine what you have seen throughout the years. I mean being alive for that long, to see the change in technology and the times. That truly must have been something, but also really hard because of the people you grew close to and then lost. At least I was frozen in time so I didn't have to witness that, but it was hard waking up and knowing everyone you knew in your past was dead or close to dying." He sighed.

"I found Bucky, well more like he found me. He was turned into a super soldier like me, only by Hydra. They made him into a killing machine, twisted and warped his mind. He tried to kill me, and now I do not know where he is. Bucky didn't even know me, or who he was. Or at least until he snapped out of whatever hold was on him," Steve told her.

"I am going to find him, he deserves it. Regardless of everything, Bucky is my friend. They all think I'm crazy for wanting to find him, and the government wants him brought in so he can be charged with war crimes but I won't do that. It wasn't all his fault, he was used." Steve took a deep breath and sighed.

"Thank you, Director Fury." She stated in a light tone of voice. Offering a light tone of respect when he left the room, before turning back to look at Steve. Squeezing his hand lightly, rubbing her thumb over the back of his hand comfortingly. Gently brushing his fringe out of his face. Watching him explain things with understanding eyes of gentle blue.

"The technology side was amazing. I also got to meet members of my family I was never allowed to because of my mother unconventional marriage to my father." Dorothy could help but smile about that. "I was married to one of Peggy's relatives, his name was Frank Carter. Turned out that he was her great uncle, our daughter was a great cousin of her. I often found it funny how little pieces of the ones we love are left out there. In family members, they'd never meet." Dorothy smiled in the fondness of memories of lost loved ones living through other family members.

Walking over towards Steve, she carefully embraced him. Running her fingers through his hair, stroking his back. "Jame Barnes will still be in there, the same man and friend you had as a child. Just they've clouded their mind. Drug from this time can do that a lot easier than when we were fighting in the war. There a processes to make a person's mind snap, forget or do something for another." Dorothy leant down looking at Steve, offering a calm smile. "Don't you remember I helped you find Bucky, even at risking my own head and job." She couldn't help but laugh fondly at the memory. "What a scolding I got from Coronal Phillip for that." She told Steve trying to cheer him up a little.

"I believe you, Rogers. When have I ever said that I didn't." She placed a warm hand against his cheek, trying to make him think a little more about the people on his side. "But come on, we should at least get you to say goodbye to your friend Thor. He seemed rather conflicted about other things when fighting. Family issues? Something about his niece and someone he loves." Dorothy told Steve showing a bit more of ability she developed over time. Being able to read people and get into their mind.

Sneaking his leather jacket, she found a change of clothes and changed in the bathroom coming back out. Her hair was in beautiful blonde waves, much like they were when he met her. The same crimson lipstick shade she used Dot was wearing. Stuffing her hands into the pockets of his leather jacket she chuckled in a cheeky manner. "Come on then, I wanna get up and wander anyway." She told him, strolling out the door and down the hall. Ignoring the objection from medical staff. Rolling her eyes at their concerns. "I've lived a hundred and sixty-nine years, if this world hasn't killed me yet, a walk won't." Agent Winston's tone was blunt, but almost fataly shard.

"I know Bucky is still in there, there was a moment when we were fighting a look in his eyes. I will never give up on him, he never gave up on me when we were growing up. He's saved my ass more times than I can count," Steve replied before hugging her back. "Yes, I should go and say goodbye to Thor. He is going through some things right now, family drama. I think he has a niece who was born not too long ago, and from what he said his brother is also going through some things. He didn't really go into detail and we told him he didn't need to if he didn't want." Steve replied as he opened the door for her and walked out after her.

As they were walking Steve looked around, "I think I am going to like this new base of operations. It has everything we need including a training room, a lot of space for us. The rooms are a distance from each other which is a good thing because there are times when we just need to be away from each other, there is a large area outside so if we want to get some fresh air we can. The security is pretty high which is what we need right now, so you know if you need a place to stay there is plenty of room here." He told her.

"I mean if you want, you are going to need a place to hide out for a little while. Just until things calm down, I am not sure when that will be exactly. The government is not too happy with us right now, from what I heard anyways. They said that we should have been able to save the city, and they are pissed that Ultron was even a thing." Steve sighed shaking his head.

"What happened to the days when the worst thing we had to worry about was Hitler, and I suppose polio and other diseases that are essentially non-existent or they have vaccines for. It's amazing actually, medical advancements." He continued to speak as they walked down the hallways before catching up with Thor, "hey Thor."

"Rogers, Lady Winston." Thor spoke, "how are you feeling?" He asked Dot, "you took quite the beating. We were all very concerned about you."

"Hiding away would be good at the moment. Rather stay away from the eyes of government," Dorothy told Steve in a light tone of voice. Agent Winston saw and understood the frustrations of Captain America, after all, this was a new world around him. He's struggling enough to come to terms with it. Being thrown into the chaos of Mr Stark's brilliant yet stupid ideas seemed to weigh down heavily on the sweet man.

"Smallpox, consumption, childbirth and the Russian Revolution," Dorothy remembered a few things that frightened her back in the day that wasn't considered anything anymore. Smiling in agreement at Steve's amazement in regards to medical achievements.

"I'm well, Thor. Thank you for asking." She smiled lightly, and couldn't help but give a little laugh considering the beating she took. "I think its been a while since I was in a fight, that most likely didn't help." Dot gave a light shrug before her gaze went to a woman of pure white hair approaching Thor. She was something completely different from what she'd seen in life. Regal and beautiful, the unknown woman held herself beautifully. Her ears pulled into a pale point, almost like an elf would in stories she read as a child.

"Pleasure to meet a few of Thor's friends from Midgard," The woman smiled lightly. Her hand lightly resting on the crook of the Asgardian's arm, looking towards Dorothy and Captain Rogers gently. "My name is Fraeya," Her voice was like a nightingale's song, dancing off the top of her tongue. "Queen of Alfheim."

Steve looked at the woman for a moment, "it's a pleasure to meet you as well. Your majesty," Steve replied giving a polite bow, he then looked at Thor and smiled lightly picking up that there was a relationship between the two of them. "So, are you all ready to head back home?" Steve asked.

"I am, I wish I could stay longer and help you guys but I have to go." Thor replied and looked over at Fraeya, it was nice to see her after all of these years. He never really stopped thinking about her, they had a good relationship when they were younger. It felt like they were going to be married at the time, but Fraeya needed to head home. Her people were establishing and they needed a queen.

"Well as long as you come back and see us," Steve replied shaking Thor's hand. "I really do hope things get better at home, your brother did end up stopping the destruction and from what you said he regretted all of it. And I suppose I know what it's like to be forced to do something after all Bucky went through something similar. I would be hypocritical to not forgive Loki."

"Thank you Steve that really means a lot," Thor smiled. "Well Fraeya, we should be heading home soon. Lady Winston it was a pleasure to meet you, I wish you a fast recovery."
