Welcome! We're putting together a new story, which we would like your help in telling! This is your chance to play your favorite canon characters in a very strange environment with other very strange characters! Yep, you can play whatever character you want! Any genre! Books, TV, video games, toys!
Edit: My pal brought this up to me: In regards to customized characters like your character in Fallout or Skyrim.. I'm going to allow these kind of characters. I mean they are still the Lone Wanderer and the Dragonborn etc etc. If I see issue with the character you propose, we will talk about it and get it figured out!!

This centers around a world in another reality where their only goal is making entertainment… television and movies. And those shows get broadcast to every sector in their galaxy. That's the only thing this planet does. But to do so… the people themselves living on the planet are ruled over with an iron fist. They live in poverty for the most part, thanks to the imperialistic Zabava Broadcasting Network. The Network is willing to put it's entertainment exports and profit waaaaay above the well being of their own people. But not everyone is thrilled with the status quo, and a rebellion is building.

Your character is going to be recruited/kidnapped and put into a sort of indentured service with an optional contract. Essentially… the Network looks into other dimensions to find their new 'stars', and take them. They are then given an 'offer they can't refuse' to be stars on their broadcast network. If the contract isn't signed… the kidnapped beings are put to work, forced labor for the most part. But our 'heroes' will escape, and fight the power!

So why would someone do the contract and not just bail? They have powers, surely they can fight! Mmmmm…. Well…. That's the thing. Not really. We've thought about this, and we have a good way to get your character to this world, their abilities nullified and shackled. Yes, there will be an escape and that's where the story really starts to roll! Don't worry, we have all this worked out. It's gonna be great!

So what are the rules/expectations, Ash? I'm glad you asked!
  1. Standard rules of Iwaku apply here, as always.
  2. Adept to Advanced level of writing. Sorry to say but if you don't care what quality is given in your posts or those of other players, then this is not for you.
  3. Respect for the GM's and other players. We are all (presumably) adults here, and so we must conduct ourselves as adults who play pretend on the internet.
  4. Be mindful that others will have different posting speeds than yourself. Some of us can do multiple in a day, some cannot, and that's okay. Ideally we can get by with everyone making at minimum four posts a week. There will be a posting order in place.
  5. There will be adult themes such as violence, adult language, and situations. If characters happen to become romantically/sexually involved, please move it elsewhere and keep it out of our main thread to comply with site rules.
  6. We really want this to be long term. Please, if you don't think you'll be able to invest your time in it, you can just take a step back. Along with the normal action scenes, we also want to focus on the day to day slice of life things.
  7. No OP characters! If there's a doubt on your character being OP, please let us help. We're not crazy about such characters, and there's actually an IC reason why they wouldn't be in this.
Seems pretty straight forward, right? This is your chance to play your fave fave character in a long term deal, interacting with other characters from fandom. And yes, we're going with canon only!
And that also means… when possible, characters exist as fictional in one another's worlds. For example, if one person is playing Batman and another person is playing Toad (Mario Bros.)... Toad would be a videogame character in Batman's world. If both Soul Evans (Soul Eater) and Wolverine are being RP'ed.. Soul would be an anime character in Wolverine's world, and Wolverine would be a comic book in Soul's world.
So if you're still interested, here's our CS! Fill it on out and post it in this thread. We're looking for a total of 8 people, methinks. And those that join after our initial escape… don't worry I've thought about that too. More will be able to join whenever we want, we have an IC reason.

Powers: Density Manipulation (which grants flight, enhanced strength and intangibility), solar radiation absorption (she can use this power to fire heat beams), computer brain, holograph projection
Skills: Computer related skills, linking to networks, Wi-Fi (ask for the password first!)
Personality Traits: Very friendly and empathic towards all those around her. She is always willing to step into danger should the need arise. She can engage and disengage her emotion core, making her personality a dynamic one.
Gear: iPod, earbuds
Likes: Being with her friends, music, movies, exploring and learning new things, emotions, finding love, Sparky! Her Father!
Dislikes: Emotions, things that are tart, being made fun of, being spoken down to
Weaknesses: Vivian has been keeping her emotional core deactivated, to keep herself from having to deal with the tragedies already present in her life. She wants to have emotions, but is unwilling to face the hardship of said emotions. She feels like she's alone in this, and no one actually cares if she has emotions.
Brief Bio: Vivian Vision was created by Earth's Vision as part of a 'familial experiment' and to try and humanize himself. They were a happy little family. Vision, his wife Virginia and the twins. A boy named Vin and a girl named Vivian. But such a thing was apparently not to be. And now it's just Vivian and her father.
Appearance: A slim build, her skin is a light red color. Her eyes do not have pupils, her hair green. Usually just straight, but sometimes worn in a bun. Her skin is artificial, but it is still warm (she did some modifications to make it that way). It doesn't feel like flesh, really. But it feels like a close approximation. Her eyes will glow, along with the small gem on her forehead when she uses a power connected to the gem.

Powers: (You don't have to go into super detail here, just a list is fine. But I do need limits to the powers) Mystic Eyes of Death Perception: Shiki can see the Death Lines - lines which, when cut, end the life of their owner - of all creatures, including the undead. To an extent, she can see those of non-living things, but usually only previously living stuff, like wooden walls. She also typically needs a knife or other sharp object to use her Mystic Eyes.
Autosuggestion: With a sword in hand, time, and a sufficient purpose to convince [Shiki Ryougi], she can switch with said second/third personality. [Shiki] (not to be confused with [SHIKI], who is dead, or [Shiki Tohno] or [SHIKI Tohno], who is/are a completely different person) is an omniscient being connected to the Root of Origin, who is essentially unbeatable but usually cares very little - as she knows what will happen already. Usually only Mikiya Kokutou being in danger is enough for [Shiki]. On top of that, Shiki doesn't consciously know of [Shiki]'s existence.
Magical Prosthetic Arm: It's a prosthetic arm, made via puppetering magic by Touko Aozaki. She can hide a knife in it.

Skills: (Things not related to powers, sewing or cooking or what have you) Can play the harp and arrange flowers. Knows jujitsu and calligraphy, but isn't fantastic at either. Decent swordswoman, but rarely carries a sword after her old one broke.

Personality Traits: Shiki is like nothing so much as a rabbit, according to Mikiya Koukutou, and that isn't far from the truth. Though she has a deeply ingrained instinct to kill - a gift from the late [SHIKI] - she seems to take no relish in it, seeing it as more of a job. When she doesn't have a knife in hand, she tends towards a gruff, hostile persona, though anyone with a hint of awareness can tell it's a bad performance. When not trying to project that, she comes across as surprisingly soft and childlike.

Gear: (Basically whatever your character carries/equips in the normal span of doing their 'job'. Any equipment will be brought with the character.) A knife, with a blade about five inches long and an inch wide. She keeps a backup in her arm.

Likes: Strawberry Ice-Cream, Mikiya Koukutou, Shopping, Azaka Kokutou

Dislikes: Strawberry Ice-Cream, Touko Aozaki

Weaknesses: Anybody/anything with the Origin of "Stillness," or who is something to whom death doesn't make sense, like an enlightened Bodhisvatta, is immune to her Mystic Eyes. She also can only attack at close range; anyone with ranged attacks is immune, though she can often dodge such attacks.

Brief Bio: (Keep in mind you can start your character's story from any point in their canon timeline) Shiki is the pinnacle of the Ryougi family, retired professional demon hunters whose trademark ability is the ability to create a second consciousness in their children. She has an Origin of [Nothingness], that is, everything; in other words, she is connected to the Root of All Things. As her birth personality, [Shiki Ryougi], knew all, she cared little for living herself, and created two new personalities in her body: the female Shiki and the male [SHIKI]. 16 years later, both Shikis met Mikiya Koukutou, who they grew close to. So as not to stop their instinct to kill him, they attempted to kill themselves by jumping into traffic. However, [SHIKI] sacrificed himself for Shiki, whose near-death experience caused her to develop Mystic Eyes of Death Perception. In her grief, Shiki decided to live for [SHIKI], taking up his gruff, hostile nature. As of the time she was taken, she had recently gotten engaged to Mikiya, though not yet married; thus, her daughter has not yet been born.

Character's Age: As Neptune is a Goddess, she doesn't age, but appearance suggests she's a Pre-Teen roughly.

Weight (Purple Heart): 48 kg (105.8 lbs)
Powers: Most of Neptune's attacks revolve around the usage of a power known as Share Energy, utilising the faith of her people to unleash special attacks and skills, ranging from summoning swords and launching them at her opponents, or channelling that power to aid her allies with small boosts to strength, speed and resistance to status effects. The key trait of the Neptunia Goddesses including Neptune is the ability to go HDD, better known as Hard Drive Divinity or Goddess Form. In this form, her power rises and her form changes completely, taking on the personality and appearance of her Goddess form: Purple Heart.

Skills: Outside of acting as a Goddess (Despite not liking the idea of handling Paperwork, and preferring to laze around.), she's a gamer at heart, much like her fellow Goddesses.
Personality Traits: Neptune is a happy, excitable girl with a very strong sense of justice. She makes friends rather easily due to her friendly nature and often gives them cute nicknames. People admire her optimistic outlook and confidence. She never gives up or backs down when the going gets tough and she makes sure to see her objective through to the very end. She also very frequently breaks the fourth wall using Game Logic, stating certain situations as "Battle Flags" or "Death Flags" ectera, as well as constantly talking about the other games in the franchise and declaring that she is the "Protagonist of Protagonists." As her Goddess Form, Purple Heart, she is a very observant and intelligent female, thinking in a rational matter most of the time. She is the complete opposite of her human form in many aspects but her strong sense of justice and confidence remains unchanged. Despite her change in personality, there are times that where Purple Heart acts like her human form, evident when Neptune turns into Purple Heart just to ride a roller coaster.
Gear: Neptune wields her trusty Wooden Sword, which she declares: "Is the weapon every protagonist starts with." In her Goddess Form, she wields a Katana.
Likes: Pudding.
Dislikes: Eggplants.
Weaknesses: Her ditzy personality causes her to be very careless at times which can either help her or land her into serious trouble. It can be said that in her Goddess Form, she is a bit arrogant, having a strong confidence in her abilities and believing that no one can defeat her. Her strength revolves around the faith of her people, and if their faith start to drop, she can feel less and less powerful, to the point where if the faith is dropped to a low enough point, she would not be able to transform at all. And while she is tagged as a "Goddess", she is not actually immortal like most are, they can take damage and if taken enough, can actually die.
Brief Bio: Lady Neptune, one of the four main Goddess of the world known as Gamindustri. Ruling the land of Purple Progress; Planeptune as the Goddess Purple Heart, Neptune lives a happy life while being constantly lectured and instructed by her Oracle; Histoire. She's faced many perils in the world; dealing with monsters by completing quests alongside her friends Compa and IF, and even uniting with the other three Goddesses to defeat the Deity of Sin, Arfoire... Who had planned to destroy Gamindustri and wipe it out completely. The Goddesses periodically get together in their respective Basilicom's and play games together, something that only Neptune had managed to gather them to do after resolving a long waning war between them.

Character Name: Zer0

Originating Universe: Borderlands universe

Character's Age: Unknown

Height: 6'4

Weight: 120

Powers: Decepti0n - Rather straight forward, Zer0 deploys a hologram decoy that mimics Zer0's movements or follow orders from Zer0's personal cybernetics. Which could mean that the 'Zer0' you're talking to could easily be a decoy while the real one is much closer than you'd think. Also activating this ability does allow Zer0 to heal wounds via nano machines.

Skills: An exceptionally skilled marksman, swordsman, hand to hand combatant. Infact, if the skill involves killing someone, you can bet Zer0 is more than proficient at it. He is also a skilled poet, being able to cook up a Haiku about something in a jiffy.

Personality Traits: The type to maintain his distance and observe silently, only speaking in short bursts or Haiku. Very rarely speaking in full sentences. Zer0 believes that he is one of the best in his trade, downright claiming that his skills exceeded Death's and that is why he can't claim Zer0's life. And it is because of this mentality that Zer0 hungers to the perfect challenge. One that will put everything he learned to the test and ultimately decide his fate. If he loses, then he will die happy that at least he fought and died to a superior opponent. And if he wins, then it proves that he is truely the best.

Gear: A Digi-Construct sword that is sharp enough to pierce through most surfaces. The blade can easily be sheathed into Digi-Storage, which in turn means that Zer0 only has to carry around the hilt and not waste time carrying/sheathing the blade. Zer0 carries with him a little box designed to act as a conduit for Digi-Storage, which in turn carries alot of his gear. Such as weapons, ammo, shields and any modifications. But this only applies to items that have the chip that allows them to be de-digi-constructed and re-digi-constructed and will not work anything not meant for this. Zer0 carries with him a: Hyperion SMG, a Jakobs Sniper and Shotgun, a Corrosive Maliwan Pistol. A simple shield and grenade modification.

Likes: Challenges, Poems, Fighting, Guns, Money for Guns, Killing.

Dislikes: Challenges that turn out to be lackluster, being bored, being outdone.

Weaknesses: Decepti0n only stays in effect for a maximum of ten seconds in combat, and up to five minutes out of combat, due to Zer0's suit power being less draining out of combat. And the ability instantly cancels once Zer0 attacks in any shape or form. And is also weak to EMPs and if anything makes contact with Zer0, with some exceptions.

Brief Bio: Not much is known about the mysterious Assassin "Zer0." As he never discloses his past and almost no one has any clues on it. Even with his infamy following him. He became more of a public figure during the events that followed a gathering of other likeminded Vault Hunters led by a man known as "Handsome Jack." Whom later revealed the gathering was done for the sole reason to kill any Vault Hunters to prevent any of them from disrupting his operations of trying to find a beast known as the "Warrior." But, Handsome Jack's plan on killing the group that also included Zer0 failed. And after a series of events where the group ruined Handsome Jack's plans, killed his ultimate weapon and prevented the Warrior from ever being used. While the whole thing was a promising challenge for Zer0, he couldn't help but feel hollow after it.

What if this was the best challenge he'd ever get in his life?

Not even the misadventures that followed where the group joined in on Torque's tournament, killed the Son of Crawmerax along with a myriad of things didn't fill that void. So when Zer0 received a mysterious message to take part of a show, and was promised a challenge. He couldn't refuse the chance to meet his ultimate challenge....
