I won't name the RP site but I just found out, via a admin admitting it to me in a PM, that they will stalk users and make alts to interact with users offsite just to punish them onsite. It's really unsettling and totally skeezy as shit. It also really pisses me off that they would go out of their way to punish their userbase for what they do off the site. Specially when they offer the option to request off site RP/interactions and now you're going to stalk these people offsite to punish them for breaking site rules offsite? Like what kind of donkey shit is that? How is that right and how can an entire staff be okay with it. It's so greasy and gross. I've left the site, but what a thing for a staff member to freely admit like it is totally okay.
Sure I get it you don't want people RPing sex or violence, but you can't control what consenting users do once they leave your site. They left your site for a reason, and you allowed them to find each other on your site in the first place. What they do once they leave the secure confines of your site is out of your control and none of your business. Even if what they do would otherwise break your site rules (if they did it onsite; but they are not).
It bothers me because it's so controlling, considering what they do allow on the site, and I mean fine control content on your site, but don't go stalking and following users elsewhere just to have a reason to punish them on your site. Like how can you even do that, how can you look at a user doing something on tumblr and think "well look you did this thing that breaks the rules of our site on tumblr, so now we're deleting your thread/temp banning/perma banning you" like seriously?
It's like punishing someone for looking at porn even though they're a user of your site. Like come on give me a damn break.
