"First of all, I would like to congratulate you all of you on completing your training." said a familiar voice from the wide-monitor on the wall. It was director Crowell Warsfeil, an ex-task force member who was given the honour to select and train future task force members. As always, he maintained a stern look on his face and body language while briefing the team. "Unfortunately, we don't have any time for celebrations. This will be your first official mission for your team. Recently, our prisoner transports have been assaulted by an unknown force. Because of this, we have been unable to move any of our prisoners to the prison facilities." he said with a hint frustration. "Since the city was unable to send their convicted criminals to the prison facility, many police stations have been filled to the brim with criminals. This has raised concerns among the citizen who live within the affected areas" he continued as the screen showed a large map that highlighted various prison facilities. "The prison facilities are located about 100 kilometers away from the city's main hub. The facility is protected by an anti-teleportation field that prevents individuals from teleporting in or out of the field." he explained, hoping to discourage any attempts to teleport into the facility. "Your task is to escort the transport to its destination at 5 a.m tomorrow and if possible, find out what's been attacking the transport. Good luck ,Delta." he said as he brought his hands together to interlock his finger. "And one more thing….. your uniforms are ready. Make sure to wear them at all times." he said as suitcases containing the uniforms appears in front of each team member. And with that, screen goes dark and the door opens, signalling that the briefing was over and it was time to go.

Outside of the office, another familiar face had just entered the Defender's headquarters. "It's good to see you guys. I was getting worried to you guys didn't make it past selections." said the young man in full uniform. It was Raiyen Karasawa, a task force member that had just enlisted not too long ago. He is the leader of current Alpha squad, one of Delta squad's biggest rival during the selection process. "What are you guys up to? We just came back from Director Valk's inauguration ceremony. It was as interesting as you think it would be. But we did get some weird guy charging into place screaming something about "the unseen king". I wonder what's that about!".

Just as Raiyen finished his sentence, the other members of alpha squad showed up. The other members of his squad consisted of a redhead chick, a short blue-haired girl, an equally short green dwarf-orc-like girl, an elf and a fish man.

As light filled the once dimmed room, Willow gave a slight nod to the other members of the Delta team and grabbed the handle of the briefcase and he quickly made his way out. There was a reason that he arrived at the room first, it was so that he could take a seat next to the exit of the meeting room. As he was still in his street clothes - a long sleeved shirt and pants, he wanted to change into the uniform first before engaging the other members in... "small talks." He was never fond of them, being a mute. It would bring back unpleasant memories.

Just before he could leave however, he was waylaid by a young man that he hoped he would not see so soon. They were acquaintances, and had known of each other for quite some time despite their age difference. Their relationship could be described as "friendly" at best and if it could develop beyond that remains to be seen. Of course, him understanding standard sign language is a critical component in their relationship.

Just as he had finished speaking, others – he assumed that they were his team mates approached them. There were five of them, making his group a 6-man team. He was thinking about the number of people in his… Well, the difference wasn't that big. And it did look like those in his group were mostly older… and hopefully that translated into more experienced.

Willow placed his briefcase down next to him as he signed with both his hands, his facial expression remained unchanged. "It is good to see you, friend. We have a meeting. But I believe you are not privileged to the details. Maybe once you have the necessary clearance. Or you can speak to the leader. As for the… King," He hesitated as he signed. "I heard that he has been a thorn in the side of the elites and government officials. I suspect it's one of the reasons they sought us out. For maintenance work."

'Ami' - Amina Angelina Askinas

<~~~★~~~>

Her expression was rather neutral as she watched their trainer speak. Even though he seemed rather pleased with his newest batch-- the Delta Team-- and he held a pleasant tone in his voice, there was still that certain something about that voice that irritated her. Then it hit her; he had gotten what he wanted out of them and now he showed himself for who he was.

Amina blew another bubble and continued chewing her gum, expression still neutral yet icy blue eyes shooting fiery daggers at their trainer. No, as far as Amina was concerned, he was no longer their trainer; he was their 'handler' now.

This guy did not even have the balls to congratulate them in person, and, now he was commanding them to do his bidding as if these new recruits in Delta were but mere puppets.

"Bring it..." said the tall silvery headed mixed-Elf as soon as the transmission was complete. "I'll be there, guys. But. I'm only in it for you guys. Screw WarsFAIL. Can't even be here for us. We just toys to him. We just gots slapped in the face... wut. EVS."

And with that last emphasis on her words, Ami spit her bubblegum into her hand and proceeded to promptly squish it into the monitor where Warsfeil's face once presided. A double click sounded out and the briefcase opened. She gave a quick toss of her silvery hair upon inspecting their unis. ~Meh. As long as they don't make us wear skirts, it's all good... The tall mechanic then decided that it was time for a smoke and so she turned to the exit, speaking into her wrist as she went.

"Purr..." her smokey sounding voice was no longer catty sounding and rather pleasant as she contacted the AI of her motorbike, "gimme my Nico-haler and rev it up on my visual, girl-- hold up... is that that bitch Minaerva...?!"

Icy blue eyes darted over to the group of misfits that had just entered into the common room. At the last second, Ami had tried to obscure her face with both her hands but by then it was too late. The little green-skinned motormouth spied her and rushed on over.

The little thing had the audacity to believe that they were some kind of besties or something and began to blabber away happy as a tail-wagging puppy. ~What the actual eff...? Amina's girlfriend, Blink and this little crapper, Mini, were besties. Amina and this little crapper though? Awwww hell naw. Ami suspected that something funky was going on between the two ever since Ami was put in the slammer; something funky between the sheets, that was.

"Hey. Hey! Heyheyheyheyhey! HEY! Zip it, little girl!" Amina had actually reached over and pinched the little mixed-breed's lips closed, "you think you can come up in my face and pretend like ain't nuttin' happened? You think cuz you all that and fancy-dancey burlesque troupe with my girlie, that we tight, Ms. Thang?!"

Minaerva's happy disposition shrank back at Amina's sudden outburst. "But... But, Ami, I'm just sayin' 'hi' chiqui--"

"Don't you 'Ami' me!! And hell naw, don't you 'chiquita' me neither! We ain't tight, you little crapper! We ain't homies, we ain't pals and hell naw, we sure ain't sistas neither! You took advantage of me. You tried to take my girl when I was doin' time! Step back, little missy! You best hide behind yer boss-boy here... that's right! Step back and shut yer mouth! And don't you never EVER touch my Blinkie-girl! Hear me? Step BACK!!"

Minaerva, red-faced and eyes sullen, back-pedalled and hid up behind the fancy male Elf that she considered her 'big bro.'

Upon seeing the little mixed breed shrink back, Ami felt triumphant and made a clicking noise as she shook her neck. But upon seeing the defeated and confused look in Mini's eyes, Ami looked away, cheeks flushed. She actually felt bad for the little green girl. They had hung out before Ami went to prison and the little thing really was a sweetheart-- ~too late now. You don't mess with Amina Askina's girlfriends. Ever.

A resolute sigh she gave; The vigilante formerly known as Hotwire just had to stick with her guns... even though she had no real proof of Minaerva fooling around with Blink-- a sigh she conceded. No, Mini was a good kid...

"Minaerva... hey, girl listen... I--"

"Wutevs, Amina! You just jelly o' me n' Blink! We tight and you bite! WUT!!"

"Oh you little... Hey, I see you again, little crapper...? It's goin' down. Believe that. Stay away... hear me? Stay away from my Blinkie!"

Amina stormed off, headed towards the garage. Not once did she look back. She did not want to make eye contact with the 'little crapper' lest her icy blues reveal that she felt bad for starting static with the 'little crapper.'

She leaned up against her motorbike now. Purr's engine rumbled away as she took another inhale of her Nico-Vape. Her nerves were calm now, but there was no way she was going back. She needed to save face and so in the garage she stayed and changed into uniform.

After a few more minutes she sighed, put away her vape then cut Purr's engine. In silence she sat, tapping away at her wrist comm, hoping for someone, anyone to let her know that it was go time and time for action.

Tiresias was quiet as the mission was delivered, his gaze sharp and focused. The mission came with the distinct feeling that he'd get himself into far too much trouble while he was working on it. It was the uniforms that served to ruin his mood that day. He didn't like uniforms. They were only good for marking targets, identifying groups, and making people feel like idiots when they put them on.

He pulled out his uniform from the rest, a frown on his face as he looked over it. It would be too big on him. He hated that most clothes only catered to people of the fleshy variety. It was the right size for someone of his stature. But it was still just a bit too baggy than what he was comfortable in. He pulled out his cellphone and sent a quick text to his go-to tailor at Crypts and Marrow, making an appointment for later tonight.

His eyelights settled on the approaching group, narrowed in on the blue haired girl that seriously rubbed him the wrong way during training. He didn't have to do a head check to know that she had something against skeletons, most likely more than just that but she had the most contempt in her gaze when she looked at him. A crooked grin appeared on his face as he flashed her a peace sign and casted an illusion around himself. He just disappeared. On his way out he passed by Willow, the resident quiet guy on the team. Charades weren't on his list of activities today and he still wasn't sure about the option of mindreading as a form of communication with the guy and didn't know what to ask or how to start that conversation. And he also didn't want to interrupt the conversation he appeared to be having with the other dude. So, being the antisocial, and technically invisible right now, piece of shit he was, he kept on walking.

And when he got to the parking garage, he immediately dropped his illusion with a frustrated huff. That was when he noticed Amina sitting there tapping away at something on her wrist. "Hey Amina, you alright?" He asked her with a more concerned expression. Just because he made a habit of avoiding his problems like the plague didn't mean he didn't at least try to care about his teammates.

The same contact ID she would type, delete, mull it over... Type in again. Delete again. Mull it over... rinse, repeat. Each cycle of this routine made the tall, silvery headed mechanic that much more frustrated.

She was always fiddling with something. And that's just how she was; always needed to keep her hands busy. But this routine...? It took all her will power. It was just as hard as trying to quit smoking. Even over the months, she just could not help but dial those digits... only to delete them at the last second. The habit was torture; it was eating at her soul.

And all because of a girl.

Blink was her girlfrien-- ex. Ex-girlfriend. Not by choice, but by agreement. Amina Askinas freedom depended upon never contacting nor seeing her former partner and partner in crime. Blink was DarkStone and Ami was HotWire. Together they were The Hidden, a duo of vigilantes out to do whatever it took to take out 'The Dirt:' rapists, killers, abusers, and other such murderous scum like the pair themselves. They were above the Law and it had to end. And to keep them separate meant it would remain at an end.

But Amina was still so in love with her former partner. And so it killed her everyday to know that the body was free from prison, but the heart was still in chains.

All because of a girl.

A voice called out to her and quickly she wiped the mists at her icy blue eyes and quickly deleted the contact ID. Whoever it was, she was going to give some serious attitude for sneaking up on her. Maybe even some serious bad words too--

But of course it was Tiresias.

The tall mech just could not find it in her to be mean to this guy. Yes, he was a bit introverted, and yes, he was a bit awkward, and hell yes, he was not the best person to have fun with; he could dish it out, but he just could not take it back. But still... she kinda' felt sorry for the guy. To Amina, Tiresias seemed just like someone who did not fit in but was conscripted to belong... just like Amina herself.

"Ty-ty! 'Sup bruh..!" a fist she held out for him to bump, "yeah, it's all good here. I was just considering my options. Contacts and info gathering is all...

Amina plucked up her hat and snugged it onto her head. She then leaned back onto her bike and held her arms out, showing off her uniform, a wide grin shining from her mouth.

"Sooooo...? Whatcha think of our new threads? Purple really ain't Ami's fave, but wutevs. I like the hat myself... BUT! Dat inseam doe! Like it hugs my ass... check it. Tight! Iknowrite?!! But that inseam rides up my crack. What about yours? You try it on yet?"

Amina cocked her hat off to the side as she did another spin, wiggling her firm bottom as she went. She smiled at the magical skeleton as he responded, but internally, she wished that he dropped the human illusion. If it was one thing hanging out with Blink's dancing troupe-- all not-humans-- was to be proud of your heritage and not hide who you are. E-dubs, bitches! Eff Da World.

"Right on. So like ya seen where J went off to? That pipe smoker needs to get his stuff together amirite? But okay since you're here, let's chatty-chat a bit 'bout tomorrow, 'kay?"

Speaking of smokers, Amina pulled out her Nico-Vape and took a hit, then offered a puff to Tiresias.

"I'mma check out the seedy part of town. Maybe redlight district. Dudes in the slammer gunna wanna get laid fast after bustin' out, 'nomsayin? Gunna' go solo for this cuz I don't think my peeps will trust anyone else right now... especially with all the heat goin down... hoping they don't know I cut a deal with G-Doma's DA office...

"But wutevs... girlie gotsta do what girlie gotsta do right? So wut 'bout you? You ever havta' serve time, bruh?"

Another hit she took as she listened to Tiresias. A plume of vapour she let out and blew a giant ring. Several smaller rings she fired through the larger one.

"Anyways... whatcha thinkin'? Whatcha gots for 'research purposes,' Ty?"

<~~~★~~~>

Tiresias returned the fist bump, aware that he probably caught her at a bad time. He saw that little glint in her eye before she switched to her typical attitude. "It looks good on you. I have to go get mine fitted a bit better. Something about not having a butt or a gut just makes things difficult." A chuckle escaped him at his little attempt at humor. "The fabric feels nice though, high quality there."

He glanced over his shoulder, making sure that it was just him and Amina in the parking garage. She was an alright person, minimal risk at least. He allowed his human illusion to drop when the Nico-Vape was passed his way and he took a hit. There were some things that he never bothered to figure out in terms of making his human illusion, such as eating or smoking. It had been a while since he quit the real thing, probably close to ten years ago as surprising as that sounded. Everything breezed by once he survived high school. He had a vape of his own back at the lab, reserved for stressful situations. "No, never did time. I was pretty good at not getting caught when I was a kid, with my illusion and psychic fonts. Had to cut the fun and games once I got settled with a real job, it was one of those high profile gigs, bunch of people just hoping for something to go wrong."

His eyelights, a tad bit dimmer than normal, rolled as he let his little cloud swirl out. "I'm going to head back to my place, see if I can track down any videos or photos. I designed a program that can identify magic use from a photograph or video clip a while back, maybe we can get an idea of what we're going up against." He shrugged a bit. "Something's better than nothing, right?"

"I'm thinking about ordering a pizza and having everyone come over and talk strategy, but I dunno. Could just start up a private group chat and save the trouble."

He promptly stopped his signaling as he witnessed quietly when… the livelier member of team seemingly having a situation with those led by Raiyen and the other team member quickly sneaking off – although he was pretty sure he was in the room with them a moment ago. Seems like rivalry between the two squads would be the least of his worries. As both of his team members signed off for the day, he picked up his briefcase and waved at his friend signaling the end of their conversation for the day.

While he didn't exactly have a lot to do today, it would be a waste of his time to loiter around. Perhaps he should speak with his teammates… if he knew where they were. He didn't exactly place a Tracking Rune on any of them when they left. Tracking Runes work in pairs – each rune mimicking each other perfectly. The Mother Rune would be able to track the Child Rune within a certain area and would allow the caster to instinctively know the distance between the two runes.

He made his way to the garage to retrieve his car, and oh the coincidence. It seems that his two teammates were already acquainted with each other. He approached them both, with no intentions of hiding his presence. "Hello," he waved at them both and continued to sign using one hand. "Do you understand sign language?"

If this attempt failed, texting would work too.

"I suppose you're right Willow. In any case, we should catch up sometime old friend. And I look forward to having a more proper introduction to your other teammates." Raiyen seemed to be pretty to see some familiar faces, after all, up until recently his squad were considered the as "new guys".

"Yea, yea I know its time to go." he said to said his teammates in response to them giving him the "we're-gonna-be-late-if-dont-leave-right-now" look. As Raiyen made his way to the garrage, he suddenly remembered that he had a promise to keep. "Mini, its your turn to drive!" he said as he tossed the van's key to the little green one causing a looks of dismay from his comrades. "What, a promise is a promise." Raiyen shrugged as his teammates got into the van. "Aren't you coming?" asked the elf. "Nah... I'll stick to the skies. I just need to find where I parked my suit. Don't worry I'll catch up." and with that, the elf nodded and reluctantly entered the van. Within a few moments of exiting the garage, screams could already be heard coming from the van.

"Ah there it is!" Raiyen exclaimed with joy as his angel-like armor disassembled and reassembled onto him. "Oh hey there, you must be Willow's teammates!" Raiyen was clearly very happy to see that he had finally got a chance to talk to his rivals. " I suppose introductions are in order. I am Raiyen Karasawa, Codename: Legion. I am pleased to meet you." Raiyen bowed gracefully to skeleton and white-haired girl.

"Our groups should train together sometime we could-" before Raiyen could his sentence, the ground beneath started rumbling as screams of panic echoed throughout the building. Numerous voices could be heard saying the same thing "The force field is down! We've lost power to the shields.". Suddenly, a large yellow portal materialized infront of the group. Two large metal humanoids slowly emerged from the portal. The ground shook with each step they took forward. "Can we help yo-" was all Raiyen could he before he was blasted into a wall to the next room with a yellow beam of magic. Having taken care of the armored angel, the two humannoids turned their attention to the three individuals left. Their heads glowing yellow once more signifying that they were about to fire another shot.

In a spilt second, a chained whip blade shot out of the hole made earlier and wrapped itself around one of the giants. The phrase "GET OVER HERE!" could be heard just before the giant was pulled into the hole while simultaneously hitting the other giant, causing it to flinch and release its energy blast prematurely and hit a vehicle next to the group. The giant took a short moment to recover and refocused its attention onto the group of individuals infront of him. Once more its started charging its energy blast, only this time it was much brighter than before. Within a few seconds, it unleashed energy blast with much wider arc and greater intensity than the previous blast.

Tiresias frowned a bit when he heard people approaching. Instead of throwing back up his human illusion, since he'd probably been spotted anyways, he turned towards the approaching people with a pleasant enough smile. His hands slid into the pockets of his pink jacket. It seems like the quiet guy and Mr. Personality from the other team were just plain chatterboxes. "Name's Tiresias Lafayette." He introduced himself in the simplest way he could.

He felt the ground shake underneath him, a frown appearing on his face and and alert flint flashing in his glowing eyelights. He felt the surge of panic and fear that pulsed through the building, wincing a bit at the unwanted input. Times when everyone was thinking and feeling too much of the same thing around him tended to overwhelm the psychic portion of his fonts. He was always sensitive to the people near him.

He took a cautionary step back when the portal opened up in front of them. He was pretty sure he'd seen something like these from some kind of trendy action movie a few years back. "Not good." He muttered as Raiyen got blasted into the next room. He quickly casted an illusion around himself, Amina, and the quiet guy. Next came the psychic link. He included Raiyen in their little psychic pow-wow. "Yo, sorry for the intrusion guys but keep communication in your head right now, that way they won't hear us scheming. I have Amina and Willow hidden but we need to move, now. If those things have heat sensors then we're screwed anyways. Anyone see any weak points?"

The young man waved as Raiyen approached the group, acknowledging his arrival. Then, the ground where he stood started to rumble and shake. "An earthquake, here?" he thought to himself as his eyebrows locked together as if he was unpleased with this situation. Not a moment too soon, a portal opened before the group and two sleek metallic automatons appeared from it. No matter what they were, they were clearly not friendlies. Before Raiyen could greet them- something clearly unwarranted in this situation- he was blasted through a wall by a golden beam of energy. It was like a sword of light, cutting through the air as it stabbed into his friend directly into the wall, leaving debris and a black gaping hole as it eliminated his companion.

Willow wasn't concerned though, Raiyen was much tougher than he looked. Sure enough, a whip of blades shot out from the darkness and twirled itself around one of the hostiles like an aggressive serpent, and pulled it towards Raiyen las he let out an angry cry from beyond the walls. Unfortunately, it had an unintended effect of the giant letting lose a beam – clearly less powerful than before – directly into a vehicle next to them. The resulting explosion would have seriously injured them due to their proximity, but he was able to quickly reached into his Pack of Lies and invoke a card carrying the glyphs of a Rune of Shield.

The Rune of Shielding was originally drawn from the first wall that humanity had used as a shield to protect themselves from primeval attacks. Those who invoke its power were granted protection from a variety of effects, from minor force shields to impenetrable energy walls. The shield Willow erected was designed to be able to completely cancel both physical and magical attacks of immense strength – but as it was cast from a card it could only absorb such attacks once before dissipating. Thankfully, the card was able to protect them from the resulting shockwave before the rune dimmed again.

Just then, he could feel magic washing over him and a voice entered his head. He looked at his team member who previously introduced himself as Tiresias and nodded. "A telepathic web. Handy," Willow communicated with the others telepathically. That means he could stop signing, which could get meddlesome when in these kinds of situation where instantaneous communication was of utmost importance. While he usually would absolutely detest such intrusion, now was not the time to make a fuss. "Weaknesses... No. They are probably automatons. Artifice. If I have enough time, I can attempt to disable it with my Enchantments. Don't think they are going to stand there and let me get close though."

As Willow noticed the enemies charging for their next attack, quickly reached out for his cards again and he drew the card with a Rune of Shield. He invoked and channeled its magic into the card, the Glyph once glows as the lifeless creature intended to attack them with its beam again. The beam was strong enough to blew Raiyen through a wall and destroyed a car, he wouldn't wish to handle that amount of damage in his unenchanted state. The pattern of the shield which protects its bearer from harm shone softly as an invisible shield wall held stoutly between the group and the hostiles.

"My shield can hold one attack. No more," he warned the others. "We must be vigilant – there might be more. To think that we are attacked like this… I hope the other exits weren't attacked as well. If they were, then we must defeat these two to secure an escape route for all our sakes."

'Ami' - Amina Angelina Askinas

<~~~★~~~>

A simple upward chinbob she tossed at Willow. Man, how she hated this guy.

Amina was not some kind of bigot against the Runecaster because he was mute, far from it. No, she hated the guy because of how he treated others and how he considered only himself in terms of power. Maybe he did not show it all the time, but Willow did show those flashes of that arrogant, selfish and power hungry douche she saw him as. Maybe there were times Amina's bad attitude was shoved into Willow's face too strongly, but man, she was sure the dude deserved it. That and she truly did not trust him to play nice with the others on Delta and would not always be there with a helping hand.

The question from the Runecaster she did not respond to save for that upward chinbob greeting; Amina had no idea if he was making some kind of lame joke. Of course she could Sign, they had all been taught to communicate properly as part of Delta training. A square of bubblegum she unwrapped. A sigh she let out before popping it into her mouth.

Ty and Wil... Of all members in Delta, she was now stuck with these two guys here in the garage. Oh, and it just got better. The mouthpiece of Alpha decided to crash the party and make it known just who was in charge of Alpha's squad of awesomely awesome awesomeness. Alpha-hole... A bubble she blew out, popped it, inhaled the squishy remains back into her mouth and continued chewing again.

A simple shrug and a simple chinbob she tossed Raiyen, the armoured dude. Then the magical automatons broke in. And all hell broke loose.

"What in the actual fu-- cannons! Take cover!!" Amina dove right as the vehicle beside them exploded. Thankfully it was not Purr...

All action from all sides seemed to happen all at once: Alpha-hole leader gots blasted through a wall, another blast absorbed by Wil, mental boundaries breached yet not resisted once confirmed as Ty (as per training), one automaton out of the pic, the other automaton set to blow them all up.

Willow then made mention of putting up another shield. And if the shield held, Amina thought it was time for a litlle teamwork. The psychic web was a blessing; thoughts were clearer and always travelled much, much, much faster than voice.

>>Readin' all o' yous loud n' clear. Thanks Ty-ty...!

>>Alright, boys, I'mma do the Back Atcha move if 'n when it fires at us again. You guys just get ready. Willie, even if he don't fire again, I'mma open a portal behind it anyways. Ty, keep screened kay? I'mma get you to do a read once we plow this thing.<<

Amina had lightning reflexes and dead on timing. The Back Atcha worked upon that basis and worked best when Amina knew the territory well. Anything that was fired upon them, she was usually quick enough to open a portal infront of them that would redirect the incoming barrage of shots right at the at the shooter's back.

>>Kay so even if I don't gotsta do Back Atcha against him, I'mma open up the Random Thirteen and blast that sucker. <<

Random Thirteen Assault was when Amina opened up 13 hand sized portals all facing the target and blasted arcanic force bolts at random and at varying distances. Normally there would only be of one to three varying types. But when the target was of unknown defences, magical bolts such as spirit cutters, mana drainers, mana cutters, arcanic blasts, arcanic flares, and various others she would fire to see which one would have an effect upon the target. But through one portal, she would toss her gum to mark it so they would be able to tell the two automatons apart if need be.

>>If my blasts don't down him, then, Willie, you slip through the portal opened that leads to his back and get up close and see if you can't disable it. He should be quite distracted. I'll fire another set too.

>>Ty, bruh once that thing is hit see if you can't tell which ones affect it, and see if you cannot detect some kind of mental link controlling or giving out orders to these things... wanna know who the actual eff thinks they can mess us up on our own turf.

>>But if it all goes sideways, bruhs, don't worry, get near Purr and we'll just teleport the hell outta here. They downed our anti-teleporting systems by the sounds of it, so that means Ami ain't gimped no more. We'll just meet up with the rest of Deltas later. But first things first...<<

A dazzling light display broke through reality as Amina twirled her arms and opened up 13 consecutive portals. They swirled and spiralled around her, and simultaneously, at varying distances and points around the magical golem, the exit points opened too. The tall mechanic blew one final bubble from her gum. It popped. "Random Thirteen... Assault!!"

She let the thing have it with 12 different kinds of arcanic force bolts... and one wad of purple bubble gum. And as soon as she fired, a portal blipped open long enough for Willow to sneak through and get close enough to the automaton's back.

"They are called Genocider war golems. Its body is made of mythril that is layered with protective runes and enchantments making it highly resistant agaisnt both magical and physical attacks." Raiyen explained hoping to give the group a better understanding of their enemies. Raiyen has had experience fighting a plethora of opponents to his past in the fight club.

Willow's shield was fortunately strong enough to withstand the golem's attack causing close the opening on its head and continue standing infront of the group.... menancingly. It was as if the golem was scanning them, trying to learn their abilities, strengths and possibly weaknesses. And with that, Amina started her assault on the golem.

The golem emerges from the Amina's onslaught of magical blasts unscathed. Runic symbols began appearing throughout the surfaces of the golem that were struck by her blasts just for a few seconds before fading away indicating that a layer of protective runes had been expended.

"Each layer can be temporarily dispelled by sufficient amount of both physical or magical attacks. Each part of its body has layers independant of each other. In other words, if you wanna have a chance of actually doing damage to it, you gotta focus your attacks on one area."

The golem lets out a maniacal robotic laugh as its body starts emit a bright yellow aura that projects an intense heat around the golem burning off the ward of gum that previously stuck on to it and causing some of the object nearby to melt or catch on fire.

"The power source of the golem is a Solarite manacore. It uses it to create a field of scorching heat around it to discourage melee range combat. A possible opening would be the hole on the head where its shootings its beam from."
The golem turned its head towards the skeleton shortly before initiating an unstoppable charge towards him knocking away anything or anyone that stands in its way and ignoring any existing illusions. Despite it size its movements were quite agile, as it was able to cover a great distance within just a second.

"Oh in case no one has told you yet, your uniforms aren't just for show. In their active state, they become a protective armor that enhances the wearer's physical capabilities by a factor of 3. They dont last that long though. All you have to do activate it is say your codename and the phrase "time to make donuts!". I know its stupid but thats the default phrase you can change it later. Also Willow, since your mute, we haven't made a suitable adjustment for you yet. And also-" before Raiyen can finish his sentence the mental-link between him and the group was cut off, possibly due to him being knocked out of range.

The thing had a scanner. The little skeleton had spent far too much time working with scanners to know that they were getting scanned. And, from his history of watching sci-fi horror movies, he knew that the invaders always went to cut off communications first. Unfortunately for him, that meant that he was a target. "It got a read on us."

Might as well try and return the favor then, right? Sure. Time to figure out what really makes a deathbot tick. Tiresias honed in on the warbot as he noted the blast patterns and the runes that appeared to protect it, as well as finding a mental link there as well. It was just as Raiyen said, protective magic bullshittery. "Yeah, no damage to it. Someone's got a link with this thing, I'm gonna try to tap into it and get a trace."

As soon as he tapped in, he got nailed with a wave of backflow from whoever was casting on the other end and was quickly shut back out. His head went swimming for a moment, and while he still managed to keep communications up with everyone, there was a distinct moment when people sharing the communication link could feel that his magic threatened to gutter out. "Owwwww ok not doing that again, someone's definitely talking with that thing, I couldn't get a read on it though. Just got the door slammed in my face."

His frown only deepened when the terminator began to heat up. Why. Why would anyone in their right mind turn the deathbot into a walking toaster oven? Of course he saw the practicality of it, but still. "Ok I think I pissed off Toastinator. Never mind it's confirmed." If he had a heart he was pretty sure it would have tapped out when the toastinator started to charge at him. Fortunately he didn't have a brain practically screaming that he never should have taken this job in the first place. "New plan, I'll distract it, you guys try and weaken it, slow it down, hit it in the sweet spot, something." And with that he turned and started to dart away from it.

Tiresias was quick. He was channeling every ounce of his extracurricular education, running away from the bigger kids who thought that he was an easy target. He knew the thing was faster than him, but it also had more mass which meant it would theoretically have some issues with taking a sudden change in direction. "Ami, when it looks like I'm about to get killed or otherwise rearranged, I'm going to need to run into a portal and pop out a safer distance behind this thing."

Willow listened to the mental commands that he was given by the girl and he nodded. "Agreed, a sound tactical decision." Amina and he did not see eye to eye. He knew that she didn't like him for his world view – and she didn't attempt to hide her disdain at all. However, he respected her talents, cunning, and the explosive personality. In fact, he especially envied her lively spirit – although he would rather die than spitting his thoughts out.

A portal opened in front of him and the man's face showed no hesitation as he launched himself through the dimensional portal with a thin piece of card between his fingers. If he weren't careful, this would be where his journey end. His body screamed at him as his body crossed the portal – telling him that he was in danger, but he paid it no heed. As arcane energies rained upon their intended target, he directly appeared behind the arcane construct, just in time to see the barrage of arcane missiles being absorbed by Runes of Shield. He wasn't surprised – after all, constructs of war were rarely placed in direct combat without certain protective measures.

Just as he was listening to Raiyen's explanation on the Genocider war golems, he realized that the temperature around him was increasing exponentially – coinciding with a yellow aura being emitted by the war golem. He wasn't prepared for such an occasion, but he drew out a few cards from his deck and activate the runes on them nonetheless, hoping to counter the golem's attack in time. He darted the cards towards the war golem, and the runes on the cackled with magical energies as they were activated.

The rune on two of the cards were drawn from cogs that stopped turning and sprung out of its intended place, exposing the fragility of technologies and machines that humanity depended so much. The Rune of Disharmony was designed to disable machineries and basically anything that was man-made as well as having structures and mechanisms, forcing even the simplest machine to disable itself. The rune also had one perk – the more advanced and complicated the machine was, the more effective the rune would be. He was hoping he could use this specific rune to disable the golem.

The last of the three cards held the Rune of Frost, symbolized by a perfectly symmetrical snow flake with a frigid air. The Rune is one of the basic runes that all Runecasters were able to eventually use. Its use is ranged from cooling down objects, freezing objects, enchanting weapons to deal cold damage, creates a blast of icicle and even granting equipment and their wearer the ability to resist cold. Drawing upon much of the same mechanic, Willow tempered with the rune before throwing it out, causing it to create a zone of coldness to counter the effects of the heat aura, but with that amount of heat being emitted the Rune won't be able to do much other than cooling the surrounding.

Unfortunately, before the Rune of Frost could take effects, his cards with the Rune of Disharmony was destroyed by the heat and were unable to reach the war golem in time. Before he could act, it turned its head towards where team was and charged, ignoring his closest attacker. It was fast – extremely fast. Luckily for him, the portal that took him there was still active. He quickly travelled back next to the group, before the war golem reached them. "Activating shield."

With that, he took out another three cards. They were all familiar runes – a Rune of Shield, a Rune of Frost and a Rune of Disharmony. The three different runes worked in harmony as each cackled with invisible energy as the cards were consumed, creating an invisible barrier that would hopefully stop the war golem. This time, the shield had two additional effects if it was struck – firstly, it would create a burst of wintry blast hopefully freezing or slowing its attacker; secondly, it would create a backlash against any mundane or magical mechanical constructs or equipment used to attack it. Unfortunately, the shield would be much weaker than the previous one that he set up.

Meanwhile, he cursed silently in his mind as Raiyen had just informed him of their uniform's abilities – and that he couldn't use it yet.

Lilly due to a clumsy day. Was pretty much late to the important first big mission. Someone she ran into on the way gave a brief explanation of what the mission would be about. Basically she was told something to do with transporting prisoners. She figured the team leader probably could explain it to her later when the crowd wasn't to big. The only thing she dreaded was explaining why she was late, again. Last time it was due to taking care of a cut she got from training after tripping and her leg running into a blade. This time was at least from her bumping into a wall and then knocking into someone when she noticed she was going to be two minutes late. She was probably ten minutes late by the end. That was Lilly's guess anyways.

When Lilly arrived the place looked like a battle field. Which to say the least it was. She wasn't aware what the others had learned. But could guess the creatures she saw were Golem. Her mind racing to what she had read about them and how they might could be defeated. One of her questions was where did they come from? The other why are they attacking? This didn't mater right now though for Lilly knew she needed to get into action and help out her teammates, and the others fighting.

She first opened the small water pouch, and pulled out her twin daggers. Then ran forward straight to the battle. Finally when she was near one of the Golem. Lilly paused to watch it's movements and the other's attacking. She didn't for one want in their way, two to mess them up or to let her clumsiness mess any of them up. Lilly brought one hand to guard her face the other guarding her stomach. Her eyes on the target, and she moved her right hands figures making the water in her pouch come out and up. "Sorry I'm late." She stated to the group once she was finally ready. She couldn't tell if they had a plan of any some kind in mind. But she figured announcing her arrival would be better than getting in the way.

'Ami' - Amina Angelina Askinas

<~~~★~~~>

The more and more she listened to Raiyen, the Alpha-hole, the more and more she became annoyed and resentful of him. True, that he was giving out advice and some friendly intel to other friendlies but still... Ami had a weeeee little bit of a problem with people trying to boss her around. Sure, he was not being bossy, far from it, but she felt like the guy was being bossy. That and she wondered if Ty had invited the Alphahole into the psychic web. And so with Amina being Amina, the silvery-headed mixed-Elf took it as this Alphahole encroaching on Delta's territory... Her territory. When his voice cut out, she could not help but smirk and clap her hands clean of him.

Ty went off about what she asked of him and she gave a mental fistbump to the silly skeleton. But when he received the backlash from trying to pry into the Toastinator's connection, Amina could not help but wince too. Not that she got hit with the backlash, but with the link open, she could mentally 'see' Ty get hit with the connection's defense mechanism. >>Ty, portal comin', bruh. Stand by...<<

Wil's attempt at sabotaging the toastinator did not go as planned but at least it revealed its source of power to them (that and Raiyen told them about it too). She saw him flicking out some more of his Rune cards and caught a hint of his intent via the psychic link. She mentally 'tapped his shoulder.' >>Willie, if that don't work i gots another idea to get into that thing...<<

Amina tossed up a hand and as she flung open a potal for Ty to escape through, in the very moment the toastinator hit Willow's barrier. The exit portal was right beside Amina. And Amina being Amina, she saw the magical golem for a brief moment... and so she flipped up a middle finger at it. The portal closed.

Strong arms lifted up Ty and in the same motion as she mounted her bike, Purr, she tossed Ty onto the back. The techno-arcanic beast roared into life. >>Okay, boys, even newer plan! We gotsta--<<

"Sorry I'm late!"

Ughs... Amina felt like facepalming. Yes, good news that they got back up in the form of Lilly, but bad news; it was Lilly afterall. Ami herself did have a bad attitude but she never got rage like a Lilly-rage. Like, for reals, when this Lilly gots all 'oooohhh! You just went n' made me UPSET!!' Wow. The grudge the chick held was second to none. That and she would still Lilly-rage off about things that Amina would consider nothing. >>Liller, vibe killer...<< said Amina into the psychic web 'neath her breath.'

"Well, better late than dead ,sista...! Lilly get ready to hook up your psy-signature-- Ty link up Lilly, bruh..!!<<

A couple of revs she gave Purr as she interfaced with the bike's systems.

>>Okay err'body, get ready... Willie! I'mma blast this thing with my heavy arcano-guns, piss it off a bit more. Whatever nuke you have in your arsenal get it ready. As soon as I blast it, I'mma get draw its fire.

Lilly! Girl, soon as you see it ready to fire, you gotsta' ice that that walking home appliance in place. Sprinkler systems above have tonnes o' water...

But when it opens fire on me n' Ty... Willie, nuke that mutha in the face!! Its the opening to its core, I figure.

>>Ready to rock! Hell yeah, let's go! Helta-skelta, Delta!!<<

Purr's wheels spun wildly, burning rubber, and spun the pair in a quarter circle , the bike's left side now facing the toastinator. The twin cannons, one on the front and one on the back, popped up from Purrs compartments. Arcanic energy welled up from just above Amina's head and shoulders. As soon as she screamed, she channeled the Arcana Font wave through Purrs weapons systems and amplified it into focussed blasts out the bike's cannons. The energy was a massive and impressive swirling blue and pink dual beam directed at the toastinator.

Then Purr roared into life and made a b-line towards the toastinator. Head on.

>>Ty. Bruh. You ready? Just hold Purr steady. Head down, eyes forward. You gunna be okay. You can do it, Ty-ty... just keep her steady and stay the course. You ready?<<

Purr was still increasing in speed as she roared on into the path of the toastinator. As soon as it turned to fire at them, Amina was going to shift into pixie form, fly off Purr, and take position to cast her Back Atcha as soon as she saw the golem fire as a 'just in case' measure.

Hopefully Lilly's clumsiness did not ruin her timing and she was able to put the freeze on the golem.

Hopefully Wil's card did not get blasted by heat and his nuke hit home in its face.

And hopefully... she just had to have faith that Ty would keep his nerve and drive head on into the toastinator and its giant face cannon.

>>Here we go...<<

Tiresias quickly ducked through the portal that was provided, a smirk appearing on his face when he saw her flipping off the murder bot. Said smirk very quickly disappeared when he was picked up. He weighed about as much as a four year old human kid, so it really wasn't that difficult of a task. His thick jacket prevented her from getting too handsy, so all things considered it didn't go nearly as bad as they could have. Of course that opinion changed very quickly when he realized that he was on a motorcycle with the motorcycle nut enthusiast. Stars, he'd seen how she rode on this thing. This is how I die.

Still, he managed to link up Lilly despite his inner panic about what he knew would end up happening because yes he was thinking about what everyone might do on a whim, it was one of those things that he did when faced with an issue. He managed to keep all of his alarm from broadcasting, one of his greater feats of the day so far. And just like that they were racing straight towards the Toastinator. "Amina, no offense, but after this, I'm not getting on this bike ever again." There was a slight waver to his mental voice, hinting at the panic that the small skeleton was going through. He managed to take some faith in the fact that the bike was like her baby, and she wouldn't let it get damaged. So if he stayed on the bike and stuck with the plan, he'd probably be saved by any save the bike measures and not just a heap of broken or potentially burnt bones in the end.

"I knew today was going to suck." He muttered softly to himself, gritting his teeth. "As I'll ever be." He signaled back to Amina hesitantly. They were going too fast for him to safely jump off at this point, so he didn't have much choice in the matter. So sure, let's just fly into Toastinator's face. That's the safest option.

The metal golem ploughs through Willow's barrier with little resistance but was unable to make contact with him due to the portals. The ice runes and barrier rune were both not strong enough the impede the golems charge. The disruption rune however had caused a brief disturbance on the area that made contact with the barrier which was its arms. This caused the golem to momentarily lose all motor controls of both its arms. Runic symbols can be seen disappearing from it arms which indicated that said layer of runes on those surfaces were no longer active… at least for now.

Despite the frantic movements of its adversaries, the golem merely turns around and stares at the group once more. Even as the bolt of magical energy struck its chest plate, the giant did not flinch. The runic symbols on its chest dissipated after the impact of the powerful attack, leaving behind a chestplate which is only lightly damaged. As the girl revved her motorcycle to prepare her charge, in response to this, the golem got into a sprinter's starting position and maintained its heat aura for a similar purpose.

During this time, screams could be heard coming from nearby rooms as well as other sections of the large building. The thoughts of the people throughout the building can be picked up by the psychic skeleton. The thoughts ranged from the typical "I don't want to die" from office workers to the more heroic and valiant "we must protect everyone" of other defender members that were also present in the building. However, within the voices of both the brave and the cowardly, one stood out above the rest. "Come to me…." the voice uttered to the skeleton as images of a black armored humanoid sitting on a floating chair behind what appears to be the giant power crystal of the headquarters.

The golem begins its charge by holding its both of its arms in cross position in-front of its head. Just a few meters before the impact, the golem suddenly performs an acrobatic leap into the air that flips its body into position that allows its head to be facing the motorcycle from an upward position. The arms of golem move away from its head, revealing that it had been charging its main cannon and unleashes wide ray of searing heat energy onto its targets.

Lilly was glad she seemed to be right about making an announcement of her arrival. Less likely for her to make one of the others trip over her and they both go flying when she hadn't had time to evaluate what was going on. "Alright," Lilly simply replied and waited for her to be connected to the groups link. Once connected she could hear the plan Amina had in mind.

Hearing her part in their plan, "Okay" She replied in the link simply to state she was listening and planned to be ready. Everything then seemed to quickly be moving into motion. Lilly already began focusing to the water in the pipes of the building and making the water ready to strike at the right moment. Watching waiting for opening to strike the golem that's all Lilly had to do now. The Golem's movements seemed to change so Lilly waited, while she waited the water continued to build till Lilly felt like it was time strike. She didn't need to fire to soon but also didn't need to miss her chance. Once she noticed it seemed the main cannon had been readying up, and felt the range of heat. Lilly knew that seemed to fit the usually expectations of readying a weapon to fire so she then made the water fly heading straight for the main cannon once the water would make contact she would quickly make the waterfront to switch to her ice front making everything the liquid touched freeze.

Tiresias was starting to struggle a bit. His psychic font was strong enough to keep up communications for a long while even when he was distracted by, say, a toastinator, but it did eat through a large amount of his non-vital magic reserves. The longer he strained that reserve, the more likely it became for him to accidentally pick up thoughts from larger groups of people. He was sensitive to groups of people all thinking the same thing, and he frequently considered their noise in his head to be like static. There was a reason why he never went to a concert and at least tried to avoid the bigger house parties while he was in high school and college. Too much input was too much input, and he did like to be the only noise in his own head when he had the chance.

So when the voices started coming in first he initially ignored them, focus locked on the death bot. "Runes are down on the arms and chest!" He alerted the team. Maybe they could actually handle this? He was extremely hesitant about thinking that, considering that there was probably more people attempting to get into the police station with these war machines acting as a distraction. It would make sense for this to be some kind of diversion. And the static he was picking up made it seem like there was another threat on the inside. Just one more thing to deal with if he happened to survive this ride from hell.

When a singular voice came in above the static, that was when he realized that he was in trouble. Not the I'm gonna charge at a toastinator on my first motorcycle ride kind of trouble, but the oh shit someone's in my head uninvited kind. His breaths came in quicker gulps as panic started to get a grip on him. He knew exactly how bad this could go, he knew exactly what kind of damage someone could do in a situation like this if they knew how, and he needed to get this guy out right now. While the image flicked into his mind of some guy in a semi-gaudy costume suit thing inside the headquarters, he stared down the deathbot with a freshly fueled hatred for "working" past quitting time. His eyes closed as he channeled what magic he could spare into the mind link that he shared with whoever this asshole was. Words echoed in this link, gaining volume and building into a white hot static that he sincerely hoped would knock this asshole out of his head and onto his ass. When he unleashed this on the person, a very faint echo could be heard through the mindlink he shared with the team. "Get out of my head!"

He felt the drop in magic almost immediately, light-headedness starting to creep up on him. Not good, but he's been in worse spots before, so the skeleton wasn't too concerned just yet. Of course, he wasn't alright with the toastinator quite literally going over his head during his moment of extreme focus. But he hoped that Lil's waterworks would save him from getting toastinated. He really didn't want some asshole doctor like Will writing "cause of death: toastinator" on his chart.
