'Ami' - Amina Angelina Askinas

<~~~★~~~>

Of course her Arcana blast did nothing; as was expected. Yet also as expected, she had its attention now and so the toastinator focussed in on she, Purr and Ty. Launched like a rocket, the metal monstrous form ran head on, set for a disastrous collision course with them. It was a game of chicken she knew they would lose, but a game she would never let any see to its conclusion.

<<Go get ‘em, Ty-ty…!>> Amina leapt off the bike and in mid-air, she shifted to her little witch-chrome-winged pixie form. Her brand new uniform, she slid out of and revealed her leafy green sundress. Goggles slid down over her big golden eyes and focussed in at the motion at hand. The toastinator had leapt up and over Purr which saved Amina from launching a portal for Ty and her motorbike. But it was the next act of the magical golem that she had been anticipating. When the toastinator fired its cannon, Amina launched her Back Atcha tactic. The toastinator's heat wave cannon would shoot into a portal opened up directly at its back, hopefully sending it flying, or better yet making itself a brand new opening from between its shoulders blades and out its chest.

A tremendous shriek sounded out as soon as the pipes burst. Amina could not help but smile as Lil directed water to whoosh away at the Toastinator and instantly afterwards hopefully it would be encased in ice. She could only hope that her teammates, Lil and Wil would make that crucial shot into the magic golems opening in its face cannon. The tiny Faewayer had to concentrate on getting Ty off of Purr. Amina managed to catch a ‘whiff’ of what Ty had seen in his mind’s eye and it truly was worrisome. Tiresias seemed out of sorts now, and, as automated as Purr was, if he pulled on the bars the wrong way, or pulled the brake too suddenly, the magical skeleton would go flying into the wall at over 150kph.

With quick whip-like motion of her arm, she teleported herself over to where Ty was as he struggled to keep his wits about him. <<Easy, easy, Ty-Ty…! It’s Ami, k? I’mma take over control of the bike okay…! You did fine and you just fine, bruh…!>>

With expert timing and ease, Amina shifted back into her tall, sinewy Elf form and landed on the seat right up close behind Ty. Her leafy green dress had reformed into a few leafy pieces of fabric almost making her nude form modest. Almost. One large leafy fabric covered just enough of each of Ami’s boobs just like adhesive bras for strapless dresses would. The equivalent of a g-string covered her bottom lady parts. The silvery headed woman had done glam modelling before so she was okay with being so exposed… hopefully Ty was okay with it too.

She pressed into him firmly as she reached over his shoulders to reassume control of the arcano-tech beast. “Purr, let’s ease down and head on back to where action’s at, girl!” The beast slowed down just enough for them to swerve and squeal to pull a full 180 degree turn.

<<There we go… it’s cool, Ty. I gotcha… all under control now…>> she tried to sound calm but she could feel him struggling against whatever this power was. She would not admit it right away but she totes felt like they were in over their heads against whoever orchestrated this attack. Ty was pretty skilled with his Psychic Font and if someone could put a hurt on her teammate, then they had to be uber power mastery Psychic Font levels.

<<Ty..! Bruh, tell me now. No fumbling. Tell Ami: How bad is it for you; you still good to go...?! Wil! Lil! What’s good…?! Full tactical Withdrawal or full on to Victory!?>>

Amina hoped they all remembered their roles and duties should a full tactical withdrawal be called. But as much as she loathed to admit they were simply outclassed, Amina still wanted to kick, bite and claw away at this toastinator. No one comes bustin’ into their house and messes with them on their own turf... No one. And apparently Purr agreed. Both cannons re-emerged from the arcano-tech beast. Arcanic Font energy swirled just above the nearly-nude Elven form of Amina as they roared on back into the fray.

<~~~★~~~>

Well, at least the Rune of Disharmony managed to slow down the golem a bit. Seemed to have taken down its motor functions, but there were little more he could do as he was forced into a retreat. He heard Ami’s suggestions on the next move that they should do – while he had his reservations, he had no better plans for the time being except to blast the golem into oblivion. It was during this time that he heard Lilly’s late arrival to the party. They could use the extra fire power right about now.

Willow placed both his hands into the ground, runic patterns quickly formed under him as he prepared for a big one. However, when he saw the golem leaped into the air and revealed the nuzzle of a cannon, he scrambled to get a card out in front of him as it pulsed with energy. A barrier formed between him and the golem, which should at least block a shot or two while his rune completes. Those with proper runic knowledge would discover that the rune that he formed under him was a Rune of Disharmony – an extremely large one, and would no doubt wreak enough havoc to any advanced machinery. Seeing that a small one on the card could remove the function of its two arms, he would enjoy seeing the golem turned into a pile of moving parts.

“Focus!” He screamed into his mental link as he could feel the psychic web linking the entire team trembling – as if it was going to dissipate in a moment’s notice. He wasn’t sure if Tir could hear him especially with him yelling them to get out of their head, but they couldn’t risk losing sight of each other now.

As Lilly froze the golem into place, all he needed now was for the rest to be in position and for it to expose its core. Then, he would unleash the totality of the Rune of Disharmony upon that soon-to-be scrap metal.

As Ami would say, it's time to "nuke that mutha in the face."

Despite knowing the abilities of its opponents, the golem was caught off-guard with the sheer speed of the portal girl’s reaction time. However, since the golem’s blast was much wider than the portal’s diameter which has allowed the outer edges of the blast had managed to continue their path onto to the group. Thankfully, Willow’s barrier was more than enough to completely block the attack.

The redirected attack towards the golems back had minimal effect since the runes in its rear side were still active. After firing it’s solar blast, the golem descended upon the team, hoping to crush them with its herculean strength but as soon as the golem made contact with Wilow’s barrier, it was sent flying through the air and landed on one of the vans in the garage. The limbs of golem flailed violently as they begin to tear themselves apart due to the effects of Willow’s rune. Although the golem’s heat aura managed to initially resist the torrents of water, turning most of it into steam, it eventually was overwhelmed by the hydra’s aquatic assault and was encased in a large block of ice.

In spite of Tiresias best efforts to push the mind invader out, the black figure simply gave a small chuckle and cryptic message before willingly exiting the skeletons mind. “Hahahaha! We’ll be seeing you soon…..”

Just when the battle seemed it has reached its end, another yellow portal opens in front of our group of heroes. Instead of metal giants, five identically masked and uniformed individuals slowly emerged from magical yellow entrance. Each of them had a sabre like weapon attached to the left side of their belt and a musket-like pistol with strange-looking engravings.

“I must say, I’m impressed that a couple of greenhorns like you managed to defeat not one but three golems.” said the individual in the middle in a rather condescending tone. One glance was it all it took to recognize who they were. Their uniform. The mask and symbol it bared. It’s the notorious underground mercenary group known as “The Abbey”. They are often hired by big crime lords as bodyguards or hitman due to their strong sense of professionalism, code of honour and most importantly, effectiveness. They are well-known for their arsenal of enchanted weapons, gadgets and having more than two fonts. No one knows what is the source of their power or who supplies them with their equipment, but one thing is for certain, they are not to be taken lightly as they have been known to be skilled enough to defeat special forces members.

“Don’t worry, we were told to keep casualties to a minimum, so as long as all of you cooperate, no further harm will come to you or anyone else in here.” Said the man in the middle in calm and polite tone. “However, I cannot say the same for your friend, here.” the man continued as he pointed to the white-haired girl. “Unfortunately for you, the sins of your past have finally caught up to you. They said it doesn’t matter whether we bring you back dead or alive, but if it’s all the same with you, we prefer to avoid meaningless bloodshed. To think that one of our targets would appear in our side ops. So…” he paused as he adjusted his cufflinks brandishes his sabre as black aura started to envelop him and his companions. Shortly after this, more masked individuals started to materialize around the group, starting from both sides of where the five initial members were standing until they eventually became a full circle consisting of twenty identical men which were surrounding the group. “…what it’s gonna be, Amina?” said all of the men in complete sync as every one of them raised their guns and aimed them towards every single of the squad members.

The little skeleton didn’t respond to Amina as he attempted to deal with the person in his head. Will screaming at him did not help by any means, only serving to amplify the fears and anxiety coiling and tightening around his rib cage because he was trying his best and his best wasn’t working and he didn’t have enough non-vital magic left to try any other methods he knew of to get a psychic out of his head. Tiresias let out a shaky breath when the person finally left him alone. “Ridiculously high powered enemy psychic in the area, keep your guards up everyone.” He couldn’t help it when his mental voice came out quiet and shaken. He wasn’t in good enough shape to put on any kind of act for the group.

When the toastinator was finally put down for good he allowed the mental web to finally drop. He took a moment to close his eyes, relaxing with the knowledge that the threat to bodily harm had been taken out and that Amina had his back and was back in control of her crotch rocket. He was too spent to care that she was practically naked at the moment. Indecent exposure in the parking garage of the police station, laws be damned. He was just glad that things were quieting down in his own skull. He was still picking up static from inside, but it was a bit less. With all the ambient magic in the air from their fight, he could feel some of his magical strength coming back to him.

He was just glad that he didn’t overestimate how much he had left in the tank when he tried to get that asshole out of his head. A slip up like that might’ve actually knocked him out and as much as he wanted to have faith in Amina not letting her precious bike get wrecked, he doubted that he’d stay on the bike long enough to be indirectly saved by any save the bike maneuvers... And of course as some of the anxiety loosened from his rib cage, he opened his eyes just in time to see more threats come through more portals. “Oh come on!” He practically growled under his breath. While his eye lights were significantly dimmer than they were at the start of the fight, they were sharp and focused, and ever so slightly gaining light on the group in front of them as the asshole in the middle ran his mouth. Defeating three golems, that meant Raiyen was fine. Good.

Now, how to deal with these bastards? The dark aura around the guy’s hands was concerning. Could be that he was starting to cast an illusion, illusions tended to cause auras to appear around the caster's hands due to excess magic burn-off. It wasn't something that happened often with the skeleton's illusions due to his studies in casting efficiency. Illusions were always easier for him to cast than anything having to do with working with his psychic font, in his personal experience at least. After taking all the time he felt comfortable with in order to get his magic levels just a bit above the danger zone, he opened up the mind link once again, his voice coming through loud and clear this time around. "Will, Lil, how long do you think you can stall these assholes for? I helped design the anti-teleportation shield generator for this building's most recent overhaul, the fact that apparently no one's gotten it back up and running yet could mean a couple of bad things that can't afford to wait through another fight unless we want to deal with constantly increasing enemy counts. I need to get inside to the power room and get the shields back up. Ami, think you could portal us in and watch my back? When that other psychic mind-hacked me it looked like he was chilling in the room that I need to get into and I won't be able to run diagnostics and deal with that fucker at the same time. If I get the shields back up before these guys portal back out then we might be able to snag some backup while we're inside and arrest these jackasses."

Once the water ha made contact Lilly used all her focus on freeing that Golem. Link or no she wasn't paying much attention other than making sure she did her part. "No" She whispered under her breath seeing steam coming from the Golem. She suddenly didn't care what it might take out of her the Golem would go down. She would make him freeze. Lilly didn't easy up once the Golem showed signs of being frozen she only stopped once she was certain he couldn't move and was cooled off. Finally she stopped letting up. Any water than hadn't been frozen to the Golem fell making a small puddle layer on the ground.

Lilly felt quiet pleased with her work and the teams after everything seemed delt with. Timing was certainly key and thankfully she managed to push past the steam forcing the Golem to cool off. "He really needed to chill out wouldn't you say." Lilly commented once the deed was obviously done. Yet staring at the Golem down that was hard for the team to put out she groaned hearing how their work was being slightly belittled. She already hated whoever the guy was talking. You couldn't just come in here in their home, and claiming they did good for armatures. 'Who the hell are these guys.' Lilly thought hopping no one picked up on her question.

Lilly finally turned to look at whoever the ass whole dissing her teams work was. She for now keep quiet taking notice of those in the room listening to the man in the middle. 'You need a distraction? I'm your girl. You need a stall sure I'll stall as long as I can. Plus these douche bag ass wholes need a lesson about threatening people in their home.' Lilly was ready to get out this quickly increasing rage. Good news it was towards the intruders bad news this is Lilly after all. Did these guys pick the last nerve right after Lilly taking their comment as armature work probably why well they basically claim their here to take out Amina and if he group doesn't cooperate their would be others at risk. Lilly didn't plan to cooperate. Lilly just began to wait for what they would be told. How long she would last hard telling.

'Ami' - Amina Angelina Askinas

<~~~★~~~>

Ami steered Purr over to the toastinator and came to a screeching halt. She steadied Ty then reached into a secret compartment and pulled out Rolli, her big, loud, heavy calibre gun. The safety she undid, cocked the hammer and blasted two rounds into the face of the magic golem encased in ice. "That's for messin' with us on our own turf, you overgrown walking toaster!" Two shells hit the ground.

The big, loud, heavy calibre, Rolli, was slipped back into hiding and she helped Ty off the bike. An arm she slung around the magical skelton's shoulders to steady him, only to shake him with much enthusiasm two seconds later.

"Whooo-HOOOOO!! That was some kinda' amazing that was! LIT af! Yayuh! Nicely done, peeps! Delta done kill'd it!" a smile, wink and nod she cast at Wil and Lil, "ai'ight then, let's bag this baddie and see what's up with the Alphahole and the rest of the peeps in this building. Like thinkin' we need to secure perimetre, especially since the anti-telep--"

The tall, near-nude, silvery-headed woman shivered when she felt another phase-shift; she had spoken to soon. There were five of them and seemingly more. "Goldilocks..." said Amina neath her breath.

That was what they of the criminal organizations called the hired-guns of the Abbey. Goldilocks, just like the colour of the girl's hair from the story tomes and they were hired to make everything 'juuuuuuuuust right.' Ami sneered a bit then spit as soon as she heard them call her a 'side-ops.' Not necessarily a bad thing, but to Amina, it made her sound second rate.

And oh, she knew that their little task force Delta was probably outmatched right now after expending so much energy and power on battling the toastinator. She knew these 'Goldilocks' types not only by rep alone. They had their run ins when Ami was running around, blowing people up, when she was part of the BoneShakers. She respected them. But that's as far as she would go.

And as for paying for past sins? Yeah, which ones was she paying for now and to whom? There was a whole line up of people that wanted her; from local crime bosses to all the way across the continent in the form of the Twin Dryad Syndicate. They did not specify and Amina did not bother to ask them to clarify. Better left unsaid until they had her in their clutches to interrogate her.

"Alright, Goldie... ya gots me... ya gots Ami... but first things first, kay? Let a lady Elf gets all decent first. Ease back a sec, bruh..."

>>Ty-ty, it's not that easy, skellay...<< Ami was so relieved when she felt the psychic link whirl back inside her head, >>I ain't never been inside, so I can't just 'port us in. I been outside the doors but that's the best I gots now. But I'm on it.

>>Wil. Lil. It's tactical withdrawal time. Come With? Then assume the position on verbal cue. Without? Then to the left. I highy recommend you Come With. I don't think the Goldilocks here care whether they take us all out or not. FYI: These guys are 'Abbeys.' They thorough. You're just interrogation fodder if you hang back anyways. Lest ya gots something else planned?

>>Ai'ight then, Delta. Standby...<<

Amina put both hands up at shoulder height palms out so that they could see she held nothing. A sweeping glace she gave to locate the position of her teammates. Then she took a step towards Purr and then bent down to pick up her fallen uniform. Slowly and purposefully her shapely bottom perked up as she arched her feet to increase her bent over sexy pose. A little wiggle she gave then paused at the right moment.

"Hey...! The actual eff you lookin' at...? PERVS!!! EWWWW--" then the verbal cue "--TO HELL with this!!!"

As soon as she uttered the words: 'TO HELL' during a tactical withdrawal the others had one second to either crouch down to accept the teleport or to step once to the left to avoid it. The reason to crouch was to save energy. Amina was not merely opening a portal but using the portal like a butterfly net to 'scoop up' her teammates; the smaller the target, the less energy expended. This manouever drew much of her stamina afterall.

A single middle-finger salute she gave to the ring of Abbey mercs and instantly the portals scooped up all those that had crouched down, Purr included.

If successful, they would make it into the hallway just outside the double doors to the power room. But any with arcano-electronic devices would have their devices nullified until such time Ami could work on it to reset/re-configure it; most devices paid the price of teleporting using Amina's Font. And it's why she paid extra to have Purr safe-guarded against her powers.

Amina would be swaying about, hand to her forehead, squeezing against the pain and light-headedness. Her other hand would be clutching on Purr's saddle for dear life lest she fall over. For about at least one minute, Amina would take to herself as she tried to shake off the ill effects of the 'scooping' withdrawal portal technique.

"F-fine... y-yeah, all good... just do what ya g-gots t'do err'body... just need a sec to recupe is all... fine... j-just fine..."

<~~~★~~~>

He was quite pleased with the result. The golem's arms lay tattered on the grounds while frozen in a block of frigid ice. It should remain static for a while, but he should go on and finish the job. Just because the golem was encased by ice did not meant that the runes that kept it moving were disabled.

Noticing that the telepathic web that connected them had dissolved, Willow's eyes searched for the others – Amina seemed to have a good time as she intimidated the now frozen golem and helping Ty – who was obviously exhausted from the fight. Lilly seemed to be unfazed... slightly relieved too, maybe? He probably didn't look that well off himself. He tried to look around to see if Raiyen was somewhere nearby, but failed to see... or hear anything that could indicate that he was around.

Now that he was sure that the place was secured, he wanted to move in and destroy the golem immediately. Just before he started to move towards the golem, a golden doorway opened up in front of the team – and if he could curse he would swear so much that he would probably make the traditional seafaring pirates blush. When five individuals whom he recognized were from the Abbey arrived from the portal and started to casually spew out... useful information, the corner of his lips twitched as stared into the muzzle of a gun. Of course, them splitting into twenty did startled him a little.

So, it could mean that they were dealing with only one individual. Or five. Definitely not twenty. They just needed to figure out which of these were genuine, and perhaps... "Talk about being underestimated," He whispered to himself in his mind – to be forced into these kinds of situations on the first day of work... How distasteful.

It was during this time that the psionic link that bonded them all together seemed to have been restored. He listened attentively to the others and agreed with Ami – they were outmatched at the moment. "Tactical withdrawal it is. We're really at a disadvantage here. I'll leave a present for them when we leave – that should be enough distraction. Just give the word." His eyes darted from one figure to the other.

As soon as Ami gave them the cue, he threw a bunch of cards into the air. All of them carried different runes, and the energy that channeled through them were extremely chaotic to the point of destructive – just as Willow had planned. He crouched into a ball, just in time for Ami's portal to scoop him up and teleport him away. As for the cards? They exploded in a myriad of colours like a giant firework as magical energies washed through the area – it wouldn't end well for those that remained there...

If Willow had safely made it to the other side of the power room, he would still be at a condition to fight – As he had been using his reserves for most of the battle. However, now that he had used up all his cards, he would have to stick with more... conventional means.

Lilly listened hearing Amina give the tactical call. They were to withdraw for now. Lilly really wanted to step to the side since it sounded like an option. Yet at the same time fighting the golem took a lot of focus and she wasn't sure if h would of froze over. Now their was a good size group of intruders who might kill anyone who got in their way. The odds were certainly against Lilly if she stayed that is. More thought on the matter there wasn't time for. Lilly simply puffed and huffed before bending down to accept teleport.

She then smiled hearing Will comment that he had a distraction covered. Perhaps she would get her chance to swing some hits against these intruders later after all. She got a chance to see the cards be thrown from Will. 'Let the show begin' Lilly thought with a smirk.. Now she just needed to wait and see if everyone would arrive in one piece. When she saw Will she'd have to give him a good pat on the back for the firework show. She only wished she could of seen the intruders reaction. Oh well it's better to not be caught in the cross fire when there's no garentee for a shield of some kind.

"Oh no you don't!" yelled the ring of masked man in unison as they stabbed their blades into the ground causing rings of runic symbols to appear around the group and cover them in a stasis field. This leaves the group in a state of suspended animation where everything within the field is unable to but retain full consciousness. The summoned men were in fact summoned constructs rather than illusions which is why they were able to cast spells and interact with other objects and individuals.

Suddenly, another golden portal opens up behind the leader of the group. Four familiar looking golem and one abbey members exited from the yellow disk of light. “We appreciate the reinforcement, but don’t you think its overkill?” said the leader of the first group to the one that has just arrived. “We’ve detected a high level threat within this area and from the looks of it, it’s not one of them.” The leader replied as he held out radar-like device. “Something is coming towards us at high speed….” “From where….?” The masked men began to panic and frantically scanned the area for any possible entry points.

The floor began to violently rumble as the ceiling above the newly arrived golems shatters causing a cloud of dust and debris to saturate the area. When the dust cleared, an equaly familiar armoured humanoid can be seen ripping out an orange crystal from a chest of a badly damaged golem. “ITS HIM! Forget about the greenhorns! Eliminate him!” And with that, the circle of men abandoned their previous positions to deal with this newfound threat and thus allowing the group to free themselves from the stasis field and continue their escape. The last thing they saw before entering the portal was their armored comrade being charged by numerous enemies from directions. “Fine….I’ll do it myself.” was all that man could say to himself in his mind before a large explosion engulfed the area.

On the other side of the portal, the group were greeted by the tall doors of the core room… as well as dozens upon dozens of gun barrels held by the masked men. “We’ve been expecting you.” Said one of them as he opened the doors revealing the core room in all its splendour. The “room” itself was the size of medium shipping warehouse with large amounts of platforms and railings that surrounded a massive sky-blue crystal which had various cables and wires plug into it. This was not the first time the group has seen the power core as all of them were given a tour of the place after they had enlisted. However, crystal itself looked fairly different due to copious amounts of strange-looking devices that seemed to have been retrofitted into it. The group was promptly escorted to main control panel of the room where a black figure sitting on floating chair could be seen conversing with one of the masked men.

“We have finished the preparations, sir.” “ Excellent work, proceed to phase two and begin the evacuation.” “Yes, my lord.” Said the masked men as he gave a hand gesture to all the other masked men present. Shortly after this, a few yellow portals had opened inside the room followed by the masked men leaving the area. A few seconds later, the only individuals that we left in the room were the members of delta squad and the blacked armored figure. “Hello there.” he said to the deltas while swivelling his floating chair to face them.

Surprises. He hated surprises, especially when he was on the receiving end of one. As soon as he exited the portal together with the rest of the team, they were greeted by the barrels of many guns. He loved the little machineries – they were created for but one purpose. Although he would much prefer to be the one holding the grip. ”Here too?…” He cursed in his mind as his eyes scanned at the Abbey operatives. ”Had the entire building been taken over?”

One of the operatives acknowledged their presence with a nod and an opening speech, as if he knew they were arriving. Without delay, he opened the door into the core – their destination. If he had doubts about them already taking over of the building, all such doubts were washed away as he saw the power core being completely tampered with a multitude of crude cables and wires. He could only gasp in silence at their predicament.

Out of the frying pan and into the fire indeed.

What was the Abbey’s final objective? What were they trying to do? Their actions were synonymous with declaring war against the whole nation. He was familiar with how the Abbey acted… They wouldn’t acted in such a way unless it was worth it. And it seemed like this time they sent their best here to achieve a certain goal… a goal that even now was not made known to them.

Suddenly, he could feel an object roughly shoved into his back. It didn’t make him stagger or cause him much pain, but it succeeded in forcing him to shift his attention back to their more immediate concerns. They were being ushered into the Core room and it seemed that the masked men had a shorter fuse than Amina on a bad hair day with coffee spilled on her during rush hour. He attempted to pick Amina up from the floor without being asked to – simply because he was closest to her. Also the fact that the Abbey operatives would probably make an example on any of them if they were to delay. He tried to be as gentle as he wrapped his left arm around her waist and placed her right arm over her shoulder.

Unseen by anyone, Willow stealthily formed a rune on Amina as she walked her into the core. The Rune of Life, drawn from an individual’s understanding of life itself. To Willow, it was a growing plant bursting out from an earthy shell revering the light of the world. Despite his depravity, he knew much more about life’s fragility and its many possibilities. The rune pulsated silently under her clothing, repairing whatever damage she had physically suffered and allowing her to restore her powers faster.

If someone who knew Willow well were to see his eyes now, they would see that under those calm eyes were the eyes of a calculative serpent – one that would spring out from the shadows at the most opportune moment. “Just do as they say for now,” He spoke through the telepathic web, hoping that it was still up.

A few breaths later, they were face to face with no doubt someone higher on the echelon of power. It was obvious as he wore a different set of armour, not to mention the few hand waves were all he needed to send the men operatives away from their original location. The floating chair was also a dead giveaway. From what he could eavesdrop, he didn’t like the mention of a phase two and evacuation though.

And meeting them alone? Either he was confident enough to be able to take down the entire team alone or there was a trap waiting for them somewhere. He was hoping Lilly or Tiresias could take a lead on this one. He couldn’t communicate with both his hands occupied and Amina was probably not in the mood to speak. He was also hoping that he would reserve her strength in case they needed to make a quick getaway.

He looked at the core uneasily and hoped that members of the Abbey weren’t that suicidal.

For the briefest of moments Tiresias felt some of his old terrors kick in when he felt himself caught in the stasis trap. There wouldn't be a way for him to avoid any attacks like this... Not like he'd really be that great in action in his current state anyways, but at least he'd be able to make some sort of attempt. Then good old Raiyen popped back in and he'd barely even gotten the link to him before all hell broke loose again and he found that he could move. And just like that he assumed the position and just barely caught what their designated distraction thought before falling through a portal. He had to cut the transmission with Raiyen, he didn't want to risk the guy getting knocked back out of frequency and the headache that came with that, considering how spent he already was.

What he saw when they landed outside the power room only drew a sound of sheer annoyance for the skeleton. "Of course you were." He was at least able to stay on his own two feet. A worried glance at Amina put her in a worse state than him. He watched as the door to the power room was opened without any difficulties, one of many warning flags going up in the back of his skull. The door could only be opened up by the guys in charge of the building and by a certain little key in his obscure collection. The room couldn't be portaled into unless the crystal was down, which meant that someone with access to the room had gotten in and made it possible for all these pricks to show up. A chill ran up his spine when he spotted the floating chair. Maybe the psychic coerced someone into letting them in. "Ridiculously high level psychic in the chair, keep your guards up."

His gaze flicked to the power crystal next, and he couldn't help but cringe seeing what they were doing to it. "That's probably going to blow up bad." Harmonic disrupters were attached to the crystal, causing it to negate the output needed for the shields. One counter-frequency and the crystal would destabilize. Which is why we told them not to use the crystal in the first place, but whatever. Just gonna add it to the rant list if I survive this shit. It was the same setup they had in the lab, at a much smaller scale of course, when they were quite literally proving how bad of a solution this was. But no, it was cost effective and more efficient than the other safer options, so the government ran with this one. Things like this were what drove the scientist to limit the number of contracts the lab went through on an annual basis.

He caught mention of evacuation, only serving to solidify what the little skeleton thought was about to go down. He knew that this project was only going to bite him in the tail bone, but having it literally blow up in his face really didn't seem that justifiable. "You know, texting me a quick selfie with the crystal and an invite would have been a lot easier than playing mind games, don't you think?" He asked with his signature grin. "I know I didn't spend two years beating my skull on a desk working on this project just for someone in a hover-chair to break it, so, care to share exactly why and how you intend on nuking the warranty on this thing?" He asked bluntly, not exactly feeling up to playing games at the moment. If that thing blew up, it would take the whole block with it. He'd seen the old test videos from when this kind of power source had been pushed out, and he'd cited plenty of disasters regarding this thing. But no, something like that would never happen here. Not at all.

'Ami' - Amina Angelina Askinas

<~~~★~~~>

It was all just a blur.

Voices, perhaps threatening ones, called out from what sounded like a kilometre away. And maybe even underwater. She tried to let her comrades know she was okay and for them to do whatever they had to do... but in retrospect, Ami had no idea if her words translated. So instead, the red blob before her she focused in on; for she knew it had be Purr, just had to...

And that was the last thought she had before slumping to the ground.

Normally Ami would just have to take a breather or two to regain her composure and vitality, but struggling to teleport against the stasis field drew way too much out of her. But soon enough, she found herself upright once more, if only to find she was stumbling like a drunk in the arms of whoever held her.

Then the familiar wave of psychc energy resurfaced and the voices of her teammates in her head started up again and she was actually feeling a hell of a whole lot better, but still felt she needed to lean on-- Ughs. It was Willie. Wutevs. Better than one of those masked Goldilocks they had encountered earlier. But actually it dawned on her and made sense that she should feel better. Yet the tall siveryheaded Fae-blood would just go along with it for now.

>>Ridicuolous? And high? Tiresias 'Tickles' Lafayette! Why the nerve...! Not nice to mentally talk about your elders in such a way, son... Lord Moldyvort here is prolly still sensitive about the dad-bod he's been workin' on... but fine, Wil, we can do what he says. As long as he say pleeeeeeassse...!<< and with that it was painfully clear that Amina was getting back into the game.

The mind of the silvery-headed woman was re-honing back up to Amina's usually remarkably remark-filled and revved up smack talk sensibilities. But the body...? Well, not so much... What her ears brought to her brain was snippedts of Ty spouting off something about games with a crystal and a skull and beating them into a hover chair...? Yet the one true thing she knew for a fact she heard, perked her up and she soooooo had to ask about what he meant by the word: 'Nuke.' Amina loved things that went Boom! afterall.

"Buuu...lllluuuhhh..?" was all she could manage out loud.

>>But wait... wut...? Sloooooow down there, skellay... Did you say: nuke? NUUUUKE?! Amina can't hardly see up in here. Please fill me in on what Pappy Moldyvorts here has gots goin' on? Like boom! wut...? Please.<<

Oh, she knew for certain now that it was not just sheer pure gold and goodness from Wil's shining altruistic heart that Ami was being healed. No, but she accepted it and desired the same end. If she needed to 'port Delta out of here post haste then she needed to get her game on in full and fast. And she needed to have her blood-pumping again.

Adrenaline for the adrenaline-junkie. And talk of blowing stuff up was a good start.

Lilly looked around making sure everyone was here. Before she fully stood she heard a speech begin. Someone was here that who seemed to have expected them. Lilly stood an eye raised did the whole facility happen to have these guys? She couldn't place the man who had spoken. Then a light bulb seemed to go off, the group here had guns too. They definitely weren't friendly meaning it was still the Abby, which they had hoped to of drawn back away from. One thing was for sure she was starting to feel very agitated and upset at these intruders.

Felling a jab not long after her observation Lilly turned to glare at the masked figure getting her to move. After rolling her eyes she began to step forward of course this took hearing Willow. She was rather thankful to know the link was still up. More relief washed over Lilly hearing Amina through the link. She had noticed the others were alright but wasn't sure about Ami, the voice was reassuring to say the least. 'If we have to for now, but if they keep sticking me in the back I swear they will regret it.' Lilly replied her steps somewhat slow as if daring to test the masked men.

As the core came into view and Lilly heard talk about stuff being blown up by their skeleton friend Lilly simply shook her head. Were these guys really just that stupid? What could there game be to mess with the core and be after a explosion. Lilly wouldn't mind watching from afar but boom means heat, heat means evaporation, evaporation means Lilly is useless. Which in Lilly's mind useless means more likely to die which would defiantly not be how she planned her already bad day.

Lilly for a moment just stared at this floating chair man. She didn't feel to fond of him and she just met the guy. After a long pause letting the others speak first finally Lilly did her best to give a grin. "Oh Well Hi there to you too. Now can you tell your men to stop poking us with sticks? It's quit annoying." She felt it was right to assume it was his men. They did direct them here and she assumed being he acted like the head dude he must be.

"Relax...... If I wanted to kill all of you, we wouldn't be having this conversation." Said the black figure directly into the minds of delta squad and snapped his finger causing all of them to be paralyzed by an unseen and overpowering force. "Judging from your records, you guys are greenhorns who have just recently joined the GDDF." The figure the fiddled with a holographic keyboard on the right of his armrest causing a holographic screen to materialize in front of him. "Tiresias Lafayette, your dad would be proud of how far you've come. But, you won't go far enough if you stay with the GDDF. Lilly Lotus Levine, you will not be able to protect your mother from what is to come. Amina Angelina Askinas, the government will not be able to protect from your past. Willow Winters, your talents are wasted within this organization. and a fifth member?....How peculiar."

"Can't you all see that they are just using you? I hate to see youths such as yourself needlessly throw their lives away for a cause they don't believe in. The Abbey are very cautious with their tactics to ensure casualties are always kept to a minimal, those who come later will not share the same sentiment. Before we proceed, I would like to extend an invitation into our fold. Do so and I give you all my word that you and your loved ones will survive this revolution. You will be given access to a large array of resources to further your own personal goals in exchange for pulling your weight in our operations."

" Make your choice." he uttered as he snapped his fingers once more to dispell the paralysis on the team. The ground began to shake as the crystal core hummed and glowed brightly. The runes on the retro-fitted equipment glowed bright red and produced an aura that slowly covered the entire crystal.

He listened to man intensely, but he could feel all strength left himself as his entire body went numb. His sight shifted from the man and to the ground as his body became limp, like a puppet’s string being cut off from the hand that moved it. He secretly hoped that Amina didn’t smash into the cold tiles too badly. As the man chatted away, he realized that he could still sense the mana in the air. Just because his body was incapacitated, his mind was still capable of maintaining magic that he had already cast.

He then heard his name and heard the lamentation that his talents were going to waste if he stayed with the government. Ha! He had always used his powers and magic for his own benefits… joining the government is a more convenient and legitimate way of getting what he wanted. Although he understood that the men and women that became his comrades weren’t so accepting of his ways, he couldn’t blame them. Despite his gifts, he wasn’t exactly a generous man.

He remembered the feeling. Being the only person surrounded by a jungle of concrete and glass when he was but a child. He grew up with a feeling that he kept close to his heart – a frigid caress of a nonchalant banshee as the storm crashed into the windows and lightning shred through the heavens. He remembered it was called… abandonment. ”Too bad,” He muttered to himself in his heart. ”I am used to being discarded.”

As the paralysis on him was removed, he helped himself up even as the ground began to shake. His clear, blue eyes shifted from the man to the crystal. He could feel the magic humming within the crystal as it grew more instable – its pulsing becoming more rapid and its glowing became more intense. ”No matter who became the masters, we will forever be pawns. But even if we were to be pawns, let the hands that move these pieces be our own.” He spoke through the telepathic webs, trying to bolster the morale of his team mates somewhat and to relay his plans. ”If anyone has any idea on how to stop the crystal from bringing the entire city block down with us in it, now would be a good time to execute.”

By this time, he had dropped all hope of escaping. He wasn’t sure if Amina had recovered enough to get them all out of there in time. Actually, even if she were in full strength, he wasn’t sure if she could teleport them far enough from the blast radius.

Then there was only one way left.

Shame. He was hoping that he could have more time with his new… friends. He was growing fond of them.

He looked at the man intensely, the unease in his spirit replaced with an ardent madness. ”What are you all waiting for?! Play all your trump cards now!” At the next moment, it was like a man had awakened a slumbering monster from the depths of deepest ocean. If his magic aura could be described as a clear, flowing mountain spring before this moment – his aura was now like an endless maw, threatening to voraciously consume all the unsuspecting ships floating on it regarding of sizes.

The eruption of magic swept through all those within the chamber as Willow removed all his limiters on himself. A blast of Life magic centered on him extended outwards, washing through friends and foes alike. Allies were immediately healed and re-energised by the healing wave, although the enemies... they would feel that every single bone in their bodies having been simultaneously cracked and their flesh and skin seared by blazing hellfire. Some could even feel their bodies completely gone out of shape as tumors and cysts began to grow from their flesh.

A blood dropped onto the metal tile, and it bloomed like a Red Spider Lily.

Willow wiped the red off his nose with his sleeve as he stood there defiantly staring at the man who held them captives just a moment ago even as he could feel his own stamina quickly depleting. He did not speak. He did not signal. But the message was clear.

”To war.”

Tiresias was disappointed to think that he was getting used to the sudden loss of motor function, maybe a bit annoyed by the fact that the disappointment seemed to stem off the immediate panic. Then the guy went and crossed a line. He heard Willow sound off, and he was ready to move as soon as he could. Time was running out, even if they got out, there would still be coworkers left in the building and the little skeleton wasn't going to leave them to die. He felt control come back to him, spurring on his growing anger.

“Burn in hell.” He practically growled, shooting the masked man one of his most fearsome glares. No one talked about his old man, let alone could they use what he would theoretically feel as some kind of bargaining chip. This guy didn’t know shit. He felt his magic reserves suddenly fill up, and he used whatever advantage he could get.

He allowed his consciousness to spread out across the room, masking his location from any psychic pings as he casted an illusion around himself, disappearing into thin air. Next came an illusion that encapsulated the masked man, a swarm of insects descending upon him and pain radiating from their bites, hopefully blocking his view of the team and prompting him to start tearing himself apart in order to get rid of them. Maybe that would keep him off the team, too. He could sense the morose feeling radiating off of Willow due to the use of his psychic terrain, and he felt his own fears begin to pick up. No time to dwell on it. “You’re not allowed to die, got it?” He projected privately to his teammate as he hurried over to the crystal.

He pulled some small tools from his portal pockets, analyzing the setup with great care. He wasn’t too concerned about what would happen if he messed up. After all, it would equate to a lot of things not being his problem anymore. Namely because he’d be dead along with everyone else in a block radius, but, still. He’d have to slowly restore the harmonic state, otherwise the sudden shift from disharmonic to harmonic would cause an overload and that would be bad. Not as bad as the problem they were facing right now, but it would still hurt.

Tiresias would prefer not making a pattern out of the Lafayette males dying due to science blowing up in their faces.

He took his time, as much as he could afford with the ground shaking from the imminent doom only a couple inches away from him, at least. With each device being carefully adjusted to ease the crystal back into the harmonic rhythm, he hoped that his team was getting their hits in on Mr. Hoverchair. Stars, he hoped this wouldn’t blow up in his face.

'Ami' - Amina Angelina Askinas

<~~~★~~~>

The paralysis lock ended and the tall, silvery-headed Fae-Wayer stumbled and bumbled away. Looking like a drunkard on New Years Eve, she wobbled about, arms flailing till finally she landed against the wall. After a calming breath, she pushed off against the wall and stood there trying to regain her composure. The rune from Wil was working albeit slower than she would have liked. Amina had to steady herself with one hand pressing intot he wall.

>>No, of course ya don't wanna kill us, mister... It's like Willie said: we just gunna be pawns in your little game,<< she was seething, amping up for whatever came next. But one thing was for sure, there was no way in hell she was rolling over for this guy. >>But you're right though, mister. Gov'ment can't do scat for me. But you? You in charge of the Goldilocks that are contracted to take me in and hand my pretty ass over to whoever's first in line to get my head on the chopping block! No dice. You don't gots me and neither do they...<<

Amina tried to spit in Mr. Moldyvort's direction but bodily functions just were not proper yet and so she just ended up drooling on herself. She should have waited another 2 seconds for Willie's Life magic to kick in.

The surge of energy washed over her, through her and from her. Man, did that ever feel sooooooo good. "Random Thirteen... ASSAULT!!!"

Amina's arms twirled and set forth a dazlzling light display. Thirteen portals burst open into varying locations around Moldyvorts and thirteen pink and blue powerbolts of destructive Arcanic energy shot forth aiming at the hover chair. Amina then wiped the spittle from her chin and spoke aloud, "Purr...! Online, and get lit, girl... time to depart!"

The arcano-tech beast roared into life from outside the room and screeched forward down the hallway. In the Core room Amina took two powerful strides then leapt up high, tossing an arm up as if slicing with a blade. A portal winked into life behind her and Purr roared right on through. With her other hand, the Fae-Wayer reached out, grabbed onto the handlebar and landed upon the saddle a glint of maniacal glee shining from those blue eyes. "Daaaayyaaaam, I feel soooooo hot right about now!!"

She pulled on the brakes and dialed into Purr's signature. Normally, Ami would get the turrets hidden in the arcano-tech bike to pop up and blast away. The turrets would use her Aracana but amp it up and increase the damage exponetially than what she could normally do. But now she was going to use Purr's amplifying capabilities for something else.

>>Lil! Give Moldyvorts the Cold Shoulder and ice anything that 'ports in, girl! Thanks for the boost, Willie! Now easy, boi, I gots you. Just stay near Purr. Ty,! Bruh ready or not, we outta' here and we taking your toy with us! Helta-Skelta, Delta! We are leaving!!!<<

"Time to go, girl..."she whispered into Purr's console and pulled out her giant gun from the secret compartment. A soft, gentle kiss was the only thing she could offer for her loyal arcano-beast forevermore, "thank you, thank you, thank you... And, Purr...? I am sooooo sorry, girl..."

A wistful smile she gave. Then she uttered the key phrase. "Parting is such sweet sorrow..."

No, Amina could not teleport all of them more than a city block. But given the boost of Life and coupled with Purr's amplification mod she could. Even further, in fact. This was Ami's last resort failsafe, and the only way for Amina to 'port them all out, away from here and all the way back to her safehouse. If successful, she would have 'scooped up' all members of the team including the crystal and its array into the 'garage' area of her safehouse.

But Purr would be left behind.

And a heartbeat later, the Arcano-tech Beast would self-destruct.

Boom.

Lilly wasn't to fond of this man once more cutting his way through their mind communication. Something just rubbed her the wrong way about it. Lilly listened intently and suddenly felt herself become paralyzed. Definitely a very very bad day it's good she's use to floor and face contact cause that seemed to be how she ended up. Lilly should have made herself lean against something while she got a word in from before. To late now.

Finally feeling herself able to pick herself up Lilly grunted and stood once more. "First off that's no way to try and bargain. Second anyone goes near my mother and they'll be dead. You hear me? I'll be doing what I can to keep her safe." She stated her voice holding a very serious and threatening tone. Suddenly she felt stronger too as if her energy had been restored.

Lilly took a quick glance at Willow. Any trump cards hu. Well she wasn't sure what might help vs harm in this situation. Until she heard the order from Amina she grinned it seemed everyone was back on their feet. All thanks to Willow and Ami was already firing back up orders to help get the team working together.

Lilly moved her attention to the portal's and the main who happened to piss her and probably all her teammates off. "Is it just me or are things about to get frosty" She simply replied to Amina's order and aimed her hands at 'Moldyvort' next thing to happen was a gun like focus of ice straight at the man. Lilly probably shouldn't of been able to do much or make almost any water let alone ice after the battle from before but thank's to Willow that was no problem. Anything that tried to pop in from a portal would be meet with ice crystals being thrown at them.

Willow's wave aura, although powerful, simply flowed around the black figures chair instead hitting him directly. It was as if there was an unseen bubble-shaped force field protecting him. Despite the skeleton's efforts of assault the black figures mind, he was unaffected by the illusion. His black visor trailed the skeleton's movement before refocusing it onto the larger group. "Your tenacity is admirable..." his voice boomed as he was bombarded by variety of magical projectiles. "... but ultimately..." he continued while opening a portal in front of him and behind Tiresias at the same time. As soon as the skeleton's fingers touched the devices attached to the core, he was launched backwards with strong blast of magical energy indicating that there was a repulsor field covering it. The skeleton would fly through the portal and into the ice projectile launched by Lilly. ".....pointless."

"Nonetheless, I shall humor all of you." He got off his chair which began to dematerialize. The black figure watched the young white-haired go into a state of euphoria with her bike before figuring out what she was trying to do. "No, none of that!" With the point of his finger, a bolt of black energy shoots out and overloads the lady's bike, causing it to fall apart and crumble into a mess of parts. "I got about 5 minutes to kill so why not?".

Suddenly the doors around the core room began to open as dozens upon dozens armored trooper were pouring in. It was the GDDF troopers. The troops wore the signature chrome coloured armor witht the GDDF insignia on their shoulder armor. Their armor was known to be layered with protective runes that would allow them brush off against both physical and magical attacks. They were armed with mana augmented rifles which utilized the users mana to propel and imbue their bullets with magical energies. There were at least a hundred troopers present in the room, most of pointing their guns at the intruder. "Stand down! This is your one and only warning!"

A squad of 5 troopers moved towards delta squad to provide them with first aid if needed. "Are you guys alright?" one of the troopers asked while carrying a first aid kit towards them.

He raised his finger and pointed towards the group, a small glint of energy could be seen forming on his pointing finger. "One finger, that all it will take.." a narrow beam of magical energy no wider than his fingers burst forwards before completely disappearing. Hundred streaks of the same magical energy suddenly begin to shoot out of nowhere at point blank range all over the group hitting them in various parts of their bodies. The phenomenon was similar to that of a light ray being refracted through a diamond. The beams penetrated the armor of many if the troopers through various parts of their body namely their arms and legs causing many to scream in agony. The remaining troops opened fire unto the black figure to no effect. The bullets would simply bounce of an invisible barrier. After realizing their their range weaponry were useless against this adversary, the troopers abandoned their guns and instead used their enchanted blades. Each of them began to charge at the enemy, not knowing that this action would be their undoing. Within a few seconds, many trooper bodies flew back at different directions as the black figure proceeded pummel them with his fists. His strikes were strong enough to easily crumple the armor of the troops like they were tinfoil. The black figure was able to strike multiple troops with one strike due to him having a phantom duplicate which seemed to multiply his movement and defended its blindspots. "We better think of something quick. Or we are done for." said one of troopers infront of delta squad.
