Personality:
West maintains a rather silent yet calm demeanor. His outward appearance offering little to betray much of his inner thoughts. It is difficult to grasp his attitude at any given moment, apart from the infrequent bouts of intense focus where he clasps his hands together and stares out into space.
When not churning the mental gears of his mind, or offering assistance where needed, he is otherwise moderately friendly. Polite with his smiles and overall manner, his experience with putting others at ease shows. Tending to take things as a realist, he does not put excessive trust in hope or luck, but chooses not to abandon them completely either.
At times, he can be rather assertive with his opinions. Going so far as to make decisions for others based on his perceived greater ability to gauge and handle stressful situations. Additionally, reason holds a high priority on his list of essentials. If a person, idea, or conclusion does not seem logical, reasonable, or otherwise sane he tends to deny or disapprove of it. To where if there are no reasonable options available, then there is no option left.

West speaks infrequently about his past and social life. What he has told the othes is that he was a local police officer on his way to becoming a PD. Having just about completed his first years on duty, a promotion was expected anytime as he was finishing up a case regarding a string of disappearances and kidnappings. Whether that case relates to the current situation and the details regarding it are things West chooses to not reveal. Brushing off questions suspecting a link as "Nonsense".
Before he was a police officer, West was an avid reader. Taking after his mother who was suffering from an incurable immunodeficiency. He would often read select mystery novels to her as she lay in bed. What became of her condition is unknown, but West often speaks of her with downcast eyes and as if the past he remembers were a distant story in itself. From his readings, he has amassed a wealth of information concerning several topics. Which have helped him immensely in solving the numerous thefts, murders, and missing persons cases dropped into his lap.

Personality:
Cynical and aloof, Ace is a natural trickster who tends to make more fun of things than he should. This powerful lack of faith is driven by a core issue, residing mostly on how the man cannot fathom to believe most of the people he meets or the situations he sees unfold, born from a selfish desire to not compromise to anything. Easier said than done, as one cannot just as easily up and leave their responsibilities. A large fan and advocate of entropy, he shuns anything resembling order or laws, believing them chains that only hold someone's basic desires back.
In other, shorter words, Ace avoids creating expectations from others or formulating hopeful impressions of himself. He shows what he is and that is all that he can do to alleviate any undeserved imagery people form of him. This brutal and cold honesty makes him more enemies than he accounts for, were he to elaborate, but you would also quickly learn that Ace's enemies don't tend to remain his enemies for too long.
Despite that, the man does not have only bad traits. His bravery and willingness to do that which others may not, as well as his experience with the criminal world renders him very much resistant, if not immune to the ailments of the mind. He does not linger about in bloody imaginations or machinations, and instead strides forward not mattering what he went through. Driving himself through the mud and blood is something he has done ore often than he cares to remind himself, and he will do it as many times as it takes until he can rest easy with his chaotic life.

What is clear about him from interactions alone is that the man lived a criminal life for a long while. He is not bothered by it and seems to revel in the thought that his past was so active and entertaining. Although a shady character, there is much to imply that his dealings had been far from the criminal underworld and much more personal than one might be willing to pry into, be it because they fear for themselves or because there are some things better left unchecked.

His occupation makes him quite active and extremely flippant, as he moves from town to town working to entertain the masses and keep them happy, a far cry from his previous life, even if he hasn't fully left it behind.
