Personality:

Viera is an optimistic person, while she could wallow in her own self-pity, she chooses to look on the Brightside of life. Sure, her life has been pretty messed up, but if she only focused on the bad, she would overlook the good. So, she always puts her two feet ahead and tries not to dwell on the bad.


There is only one way to really piss her off and that is to treat her like an invalid. She hates to be treated differently or underestimated, or heaven forbid, to be pitied. She has her pride and refuses to be treated like a child, or a special case, which seems to be an everyday occurrence. So, she has a "bit" of a temper and is known for yelling at people, mainly her brother.


She tries to keep it reigned in with strangers, and some days are harder than others. She gets sassy and sarcastic with a person in warning to not push their luck before she gets angry and starts yelling at people. Most of the time, however, she is pretty mellow and friendly. She may not be the most forthcoming when you first meet her, but once she feels comfortable, she will let her personality come through.

~ She can generally tell if someone is lying just from the inflexion of their voice. The gentle nuances and hesitations make it easy for her to pick out irregularities, but only if she knows the person well enough.

~ She never learned how to read, so she has to rely on others to explain, and/or tell her things.

~ She refuses to cover her eyes, she likes to feel the wind on her face.

~ Viera loves puns and will "casually" slip them into everyday conversations. She doesn't know why she loves them, but she does. It probably has something to do with people groaning in disgust or just shaking their heads disbelief. It is also a good icebreaker, so it makes it easy for her to get to know someone. The more annoyed the person is, the better in her eyes.






History:

Viera's parents met by complete accident, they were from what seemed to be two different worlds. Her father, Marlon, was a widowed treasure hunter from Sylph Labyrinth, who had a son named Marco, who had just turned 20. Her mother was a 25-year-old wizard from Blue Pegasus, who fell in love with a man who was almost twice her age. Love at first sight, and 6 months later Viera was on her way.


Shortly after she was born, her mother died, leading her father into a downward spiral where he became an alcoholic. Depressed, her father could barely function, let alone take care of a young baby, leaving her mostly in the care of her half-brother. Fed up with being saddled with a young child, he forced his father to look after Viera for once, and bond with his daughter. For the first time in 6 months, he began to sober up.


It wasn't to last however and two months later, their lives were destroyed. Viera had shown great promise in magic, being able to manipulate the water around her and throw it at people to get their attention. She did this in public once and she caught the eye of a strange man. Seeing an opportunity, he followed the Father and daughter to their home and snuck into the house later that week.


Making sure to knockout her father, the man snuck into her room and stole her away to a laboratory. The man was known for his experiments with lacrimas and wished to see what would happen if one was implanted in an infant who showed great magical promise.


The end results damaged Viera's magical core, making it very difficult for her to use any kind of magic without it draining heavily on her. It also caused her to go blind due to her body being unable to handle the extreme process. Seeing his experiment as a failure, he left her stranded in the streets and left town. The next morning, she was found by one of her father's guildmates and reported her father for child endangerment leading to his arrest.


From that moment onward her brother vowed to always protect her and keep her safe from any form of harm. He became overprotective over the years and refused to let Viera anywhere near the guild. He never left her alone, constantly doing things that she could o herself easily. He would hover and never let her out of his sight.


When she was 12, her brother married a woman from the guild and they quickly had a son, allowing Viera some small amount of freedom. However, the woman couldn't stand being a mother to two children, who required so much attention. Having to live with a blind child was too much of a burden and left one day, leaving Viera a note to give her brother.


Her brother didn't blame Viera for his wife's departure, but she blamed herself for all the problems she had caused her brother. She vowed to never be a burden on anyone else again, and quickly joined the guild behind her brother's back. Viera had a tough time, in the beginning, learning how to use a weapon as they often refused to work for her.


Eventually, she found her place working behind the counter at the guild hall, as her brother refused to allow her on any missions. It was during this time where she discovered that she could do small pieces of magic. She was scared out of her mind in the beginning, but a guildmate started to teach her how to channel the magic. This required years of practice, as her magical core was slowly beginning to mend.


Deciding to keep this to herself, she practised by herself whenever her brother was not around. Her nephew loved watching her play with water and often begged for her to do little tricks. She stumbled upon the lacrima magic inside her by accident. Her nephew had fallen from a tree when she was making dinner. She ran outside and quickly tried to get some help, but the second she touched him, he started to heal. Before long he was as good as new, and her brother was none the wiser.


She discovered it was easier to call upon this form of magic than her water-based magic, however it drained more of her energy. By the time she turned 16, she could comfortably use both forms in everyday life. Knowing that she couldn't learn anything else from her guild, she decided that she needed to leave if only to learn more. This caused a major fight between the two siblings leading to her sneaking out in the middle of the night.


She had just entered the town of Hargeon when she heard of a guild nearby who saved them, all without accepting payment. After being rejected by countless magical guilds because of her blindness, she hopes that this one may be different.

She also has discovered a way to see using the water molecules in the air to give her a general location where everything is in relation to herself.

DJ is a very calm cool calculating person. He has been around long enough to have seen his far share of trouble so he's able to calmly find a solution. He was exposed to a ton of different people so he is able to get along with everyone. He has a high intellect so he can find out solutions quickly.
He is generally easy going nothing really bothers him other than poor planning and lack of preparedness. He is definetely not a leader more of an advisor to whomever is in charge. DJ gets along with everyone no matter their rank.

History:
DJ was raised in a wealthy family where his family relied on their intellect rather than magic. He was the heir to a prominent land owner who was said to have the highest intellect of the land. One day while DJ was finishing his lessons he heard his father cry out in pain. He rushed to his father's study to see him struck down by a low level wizard. The low level Wizard noticed that he was seen and went after DJ with his low level fire magic. He ran behind a knocked over chair and wished it was strong as steel. The low level Wizard burned the manor to the ground. When the manor burnt down the only thing that was left was a chair that should have been in the middle of the fire.
DJ roamed the country looking for a new home when he was saved by wandering magicians. They later discovered his magic for strengthening the durability of objects. They used it to help increase the durability of their magic weapons and gear. Since DJ was a minor The wizards convinced him to join their guild Lamia Scale. One of the wizards taught him how to increase the attributes of people making DJ the perfect support wizard. Although his nickname is support he is able to handle B level quests on his own using combinations of his magic, intellect and magic tools.
One one particular mission that his team took on he lost one of the Wizards that found and helped raise him. Burdened by the loss DJ left the guild to roam the country looking for his next move. He continued to join random Wizarding teams who were struggling along the way vowing to never let a teammate fall again. Every mission from then on became more about saving the team than himself that put serious strain on his body. After a near fatal mission he was approached by and old woman that helped him get through his greif and figure out that he loved being in a guild and that he should continue to do what he loves, she told him of a wonderful guild that her family had the pleasure of working with. He thanked her and made his way to find that guild.
Fun Fact - DJ is a pretty clever guy but over thinks things so much that most jokes go over his head.

I wish to see the roleplay progress a bit more IC-wise first.

Final note: The Job Board system should be up by the beginning of next week. I'm tweaking a few more things in the spare time I have (Which isn't that much this week), and add a few initial jobs too. So you can look forward to that!

Hey, so sorry if this is kind of an inconvenience, but I was wondering if you guys wouldn't mind coming up with what your characters might smell like. I can make it up based on character sheets, but I would rather ask in case you guys have differing opinions on the matter.

That's no issue~ Ken would smell like lavender, and a bit like a beach as well (or whatever sand smells like). Neither smell is overbearing, more of just a subtle scent~

Good question. Since DJ is pretty physical I'm gonna say sweat but he's very social so I'd have to assume he knows to not smell bad so I'm gonna say he smells like salty sandlewood.

No problems what so ever. Apologies for the slightly late response, seeing as you already posted a response -

Quill smells like Ink. Always.
Eve's smell is mostly of gentle wood, but can be accompanied by gentle cleaning supplies smells or food being cooked.
Ivo smells like a mix of sweat and the same gentle wood as Eve's smell.

(The gentle wood is basically the smell of the wood from which the guild hall has been constructed from).
 
Okay everyone! The Jobs Board has been updated, with an explanation on how things will work with the Jobs!

The explanation to the Jobs board can be found right beneath the Roster on the first page, or in >In This little link right here<

I will answer any questions you have, and I will have the first batch of jobs up by Tuesday, along with the Job Submission Sheet.

I hope everyone is enjoying their experience in the roleplay so far, and I hope with this addition, we can begin exploring the world and all the wonders it holds!

The RP is really enjoyable, I love the cast of characters we got atm~ I intend to post later today, though I was waiting for @RoleplayE since he hadn't posted in awhile and I didn't want to drown him with all the posts (that being said I'll probs get a post out before the end of the day)

As for the jobs~I cant wait~ Is there going to be an overarching plot? Also, do players have to make jobs or...?

No one has to make jobs, Its just an option to get people to be more involved in the roleplay should they wish to be :P

As for an Overarching arc, there is. But that doesn't mean I wanted to throw everyone right into it straight from the bat. I will start dropping hints soon, but I don't intend on telling what form they will be coming in just yet~

It has been the weekend, so it is possible people just took a bit of time off, or that perhaps he felt he didn't have enough to go on. It's why I went ahead and also posted with Quill and Ivo again, so he will have something more to respond for.
 
I'm on vacation with fam for the week. Will post if I can. If @Nim or @SolemnOath need to control my character to move the plot then by all means you can.

@Nim I am curious, could I create an NPC that could become a possible worker for FT? Not a mage that goes on jobs and such. I was thinking of doing that for Ken's mother. But wanted to run it past ya before I do any deep thought on it.
