[fieldbox="GM post, goldenrod, dashed, 10"]Hercules School for the Super-powered Individuals is a premier school specializing in the education and training of young, aspiring heroes. The school boasts state of the art technology, facilities that accommodate to any student no matter what their needs or abilities. The school is also staffed by experienced heroes who are dedicated to giving the finest education and sharing their wisdom and experience to help guide students into becoming celebrated heroes.

The school was founded by a man named Peter Waller in 1949 after his service in World War 2. During a simple rendezvous mission, Mr. Waller’s unit was captured and held prisoner by the opposing forces, until one man single handedly saved them all, displaying abilities no normal humans was capable of. After the War, stories of this hero began to spread, bringing forth the era of superheroes. Soon, people with unique abilities started to appear, with dreams to become like the hero. Inspired by the hero and aware of the growing population of people with powers in the world, Mr. Waller created the school to help young kids learn to control their powers and become like the heroes from their favorite bedtime stories.

School dormitories are situated in Aurora City, Oregon, next to a large research facility. The facility works with the school to research the different powers of each individual and how best one can develop them to help citizens and their fellow heroes. They provide anything from needed weapons, gear, and costumes for the young hero. It is thanks to this partnership that the school was able to aim for the skies, both literally and figuratively. With their brain power, scientists not only research into the new phenomenon, but also find ways to support heroes in their goal to defend mankind as they rise to the top.

Do you have what it takes to be bold and righteous?

=========

A yellow school bus pulled up on the side of the curb where a crowd of kids had gathered together. On the west side of Hercules Dormitories, it was the only bus stop meant for the students of Hercules School for Super-powered Individuals, a large, bright yellow sign hanging from a pole to let people know. The doors of the bus hissed open, a plump man smiling as he tipped his hat to greet those standing on the sidewalk.

“Looks like we got ourselves a beautiful first day,” said the man, gesturing at the cloudless sky above. Some of the students--mostly upperclassmen--started boarding the bus, greeting the driver as if reuniting with a good friend. As they all took their seats, the driver peered at those still left behind.

“I assume you guys must be students for Hercules, otherwise there is no reason for you to be standing there,” the man chuckled. “I’m Savino Duke, just your average bus driver who’s gonna be your main source of transportation to and from school. Now don’t be shy; just step in, take a seat and relax. I take care of the rest.” His eyes twinkled with a hint of mischief. “Be righteous! Be bold! Be brave, young heroes!”

Chanting the school motto, other kids joined in with him, urging those to come aboard. After a moment, one girl, Ilea Hart, stepped aboard and took her seat.

“Atta girl. Now that’s what we call traits of a hero,” said Savino, jutting his thumb at Ilea. She blushed at the sudden attention but was otherwise flattered. She nodded at those still left, as if telling them everything would be okay. Savino then added, “well, time’s awaiting!”[/fieldbox]

SAM:

Sam Kulka had spent the past couple of days settling into one of Hercules's fancy dorm rooms. The air was new, the sights were new...honestly, the whole of Aurora City was just, "new." It was a jump from flat fields, few buildings, and solid chunks of one color to innovations of architecture, cityscapes, and hues of neon that Sam genuinely only thought existed in fantasy. Poor boy nearly had a panic attack when he got his first glimpse of it all. Then he had to consider that he was going to school again. Again! The first time since what felt like forever, though it certainly wasn't long enough to him. The anxiety of it all, what with his mediocre experiences with the institution in the past, sent him fleeing into the first bathroom he could see once he was set up in his dorm.

Now, a lucky two days into his time in the city, with a nice and organized dorm behind him, and a bright yellow bus with a brighter bus driver in front of him, Sam at least had the courage to take a deep breath and hold it as he stepped onto the vehicle. He kept his eyes on his scuffed-up shoes as he hiked his small frame up each step, making his way down the bus's body, then plopping down in a seat as separated from the pack as possible. Once his hands found the leather upholstery, Sam let out his breath and replaced it with another, wrapping his arms around his chest in an attempt to chill himself out.

"Just tough it out, like pa said..." Sam whispered slowly, burying his nose into his shirt to catch a whiff of home. "...One day, then the next, then the..." he continued the mantra, breath by breath, until he was relaxed. Then he tugged out a comic from his backpack, tucked himself into the corner of his seat, and tried to lose himself before something could set off his anxiety further.

It was, 'go time' for the light footed individual. He had a wide grin plastered on his face and there was no hesitation in his footing. He had finally gotten rid of the stuffy jacket he wore over his wrinkled white long sleeved shirt. Rei had done his best to arrange his closet, but when he had begun to rearrange the catastrophe of a room. The bedroom ended up with piles of things messily arranged. Whenever he had tried to fix the mess he made, that is if 'fixing' the mess was throwing the same clothing in other piles. Rei was a bit disappointed he couldn't get around to shoving his morning run into the schedule but he wouldn't let that bring him down. It was absolutely exhilarating to think of all of the sorts of people who would enter the doors of the school.

Rei had gotten himself busy shoving a deck of cards into his bag, slipping a watch onto his wrist before tapping the glass screen of the time teller. He had yet to actually meet anyone formally, he had gotten a few new bruises in "Aurora City" due to his short attention span. No less than twenty murmurs of an apology had passed his lips since he had arrived from bumping into a variety of people, sometimes he had bumped into the same folks. Fixing his mind back towards the fact that he was now out the door, he pondered how much different it'd be than his prestigious school he had attended previously.

The blonde individual had planted a cocky grin on his face as he gazed at the bright yellow bus. What a sight for the morning, he had especially taken a liking to the 'average' driver. This system was highly new to him, usually he would have to be stuck in a car by his lonesome forced to ride in silence. Rei perkily bounced in place waiting for the area in front of the stairs to clear out. He placed a single earbud into his left ear in order to get some of his music flowing into his system. He made sure to turn it low in order to wait for any other instructions as he tucked the gadget into one of his jean pockets.

The blonde eagerly hopped on to the bus before snagging a seat by the window as he peered out of the aisle, looking at the bus driver. He highly doubted that the bus driver was 'average' but Rei found excitement in the mystery. Rei shifted over back towards the window, taking the deck of cards out of his bag and began to shuffle them as he impatiently tapped his foot.

Mayra Ruiz

Really, this wasn't how Mayra thought her life would turn out.

After moving to America, she had thought her life would be smooth sailing from then on out. Sure, summer was practically unbearable and the financial situation didn't change too much, but she was with her family and that was all that mattered. It looked that it would stay that way when she got her "invitation". Next thing she knew she was being shipped across the country to some school to control powers that she already had perfectly good control over, thank you very much! However, the government didn't seem to believe her as they had simply taken her and shoved her into this "school for heroes". Ha! As if she was going to become a hero.

She stood in her new "home", hesitant to add any personal touches to it. She wasn't going to be staying here too long, so why try and personalize it? Sighing, Mayra flopped onto the bed and stared at the ceiling. The bed was soft. Its sheets held a freshness to them that almost made Mayra believe they were freshly bought. The pillows stacked perfectly against the headboard, fluffed and ready for a sleepy hero in training to lay her head. The whole bed took up a good chunk of the room, settled right in the middle with a night stand on one side and a dark wooded desk on the other. Adjacent to the desk, a floor length mirror stood and reflected the room back at her. A closet sat nestled in the far left corner of the room, bringing it all together. Really, the whole room felt like it belonged in a hotel rather than a dorm. Sighing, Mayra sat up and went to her bags, opening up her gym bag and pulling out a few pairs of gloves. She debated over the few colors she had before pulling on a green pair. Standing up, she turned to look at herself in the mirror.

A dark green turtleneck, worn jeans, and scuffed up boots met her vision. Really, she didn't look all that impressive, but it would do. She wasn't quite looking to impress after all. Kneeling down to make sure her socks covered up to her knees, Mayra tried to prepare herself for the day she had ahead of her. She could do this. She was Mayra Eliana Isabella Manuela Ruiz. Her parents had taught her to face every challenge head on, and this was just one of them. Taking a deep breath, Mayra grabbed her backpack and headed out.

All of the students were grouped up at the bus stop, most of them chattering excitedly. Mayra tried to make herself as small as possible in the crowd, a bit hard considering she towered over quite a few of the students. Despite Oregon being quite a bit farther north than Arizona, she could still feel the heat bearing down on her. She really loathed sunny days like this. With a swift movement, Mayra pulled a hair tie from her wrist and had her hair up in a messy, curly, and frizzy bun. It didn't take long for the bus to arrive. Chewing on her lip, she watched as the bus driver greeted them and the upperclassmen all clambered on board. She stayed back, a bit nervous to just walk on board. Clearly, she wasn't the only one as a few other underclassmen milled around with her. The bus driver-Savino, she was pretty sure-quickly egged the rest of the students on, chanting some stupid school chant until one scared looking girl took the first step. 'Young heroes', huh? She thought. Maybe she should just tell the man that she didn't belong there and try to find a way back to her home.

Mayra opened her mouth, about to explain that there was a mistake when the man mentioned they were on a schedule. Ah. Damn. She couldn't very well mess up the poor man's schedule, could she? He was just doing his job. He might get fired if she started a fuss, or maybe even worse. Taking a deep breath, Mayra took the first step before she could convince herself otherwise. Stepping onto the bus, Mayra set to try and find a seat. She could just slide into an empty one, however that meant somebody could try and sit next to her. That meant she had to interact with them. That mean they would be all excitedly talking about going to a hero school. That meant dealing with people who wanted to be here. She couldn't risk that. So, she set about trying to find someone who looked busy enough to not want to interact with anyone. Seeing a boy engrossed in a comic book, Mayra thanked God for her luck and sidled in next to the boy. For a moment, she thought to just leave it at that and settle in, but the boy might be startled by some strange giant of a girl sitting next to him. She couldn't just ruin his ride to school like that! "Um, hi! I hope you don't mind me sitting here. My name's Mayra. You can keep reading your comic and stuff! I won't keep bugging you." With that out of the way, Mayra looked around before catching a blonde boy shuffling a deck of cards and bouncing his leg. Tilting her head, Mayra muttered, "Looks like someone's excited... or nervous... Can't blame him."

Even being miles away from her parents couldn't de-stress Will's life. When she got to her dorm, she had contemplated tossing her bags to the floor and setting things up later but as soon as the thought bubbled into her brain, her mother's nagging voice burst in. People who have dirty rooms can't control their lives. They get overrun with roaches and develop breathing problems. They can never find anything and are late for appointments and blah blah blah--are you a dirty, scatterbrained, asthmatic loser Wilhemina? Blah blah blah BLAH! So Will had unpacked all of her things, folded them neatly and even gave the room a once over with the hand vacuum cleaner her mom had gotten her. Never trust the help, Wilhelmina. They say that it's spic and span but you always find something, so you might as well do it yourself. When she'd finished vacuuming, she humored her mother bu checking the contents of the vacuum only to find a a curly brownish hair. "Huh--Guess she was right--Wait a minute," Will squinted at the hair and twisted it back and forth between her middle and forefinger, grimacing when she saw that the tip of the hair was blue. "Jesus, she's so stressful she's making my hair fall out in my teens!" She grumbled under her breath before discarding the hair.

The next step into setting up her room was easier but was unfortunately accompanied by some parental commentary. Will wondered if this was the beginning of her descent into madness, as her father's booming voice exploded into her head. YOU'VE GOTTA MAKE YOUR SPACE YOUR OWN, WILLIE. SHOW PEOPLE WHO YOU ARE. WHO ARE YOU, WILLIE?! Most of these 'pep talks' were done while her father was in his giant form, while they were training and were more frightening than helpful. "I'm Will Washington. I like Legend of Zelda, Peggy Oki and Tony Hawke...My best friend at the moment is my dog, Marco Barko, that's super sad, I know." She muttered the chant as she hung up the plethora of posters she had brought from home. Of course this particular chant had some new additions.

When she was finished, she took a moment to gaze at her new living space before exiting. When she got to the bus stop she was a little disappointed. She'd expect a giant rocket on wheels or hot wheels themed limousine not a plain ass yellow school bus. But maybe that was just to highlight how awesome the school was going to be or something. Yeah, that's got to be it. She thought as she boarded the bus behind the others. The school chant that had been performed for them was a bit surprising and cheesy, but it reminded her of her dad and she made a mental note to join in next time.

Remembering her private admittance of her serious lack of friends, Will opted to sit next to an excited looking boy as opposed to sitting alone. As she settled into the not comfortable but no uncomfortable seat, she turned to the boy and flashed a grin. "Hey, I'm Will. I'll save you the small talk and just come out with it. I can summon a giant hand out of whatever's around. Except living things--Can't use them. How 'bout you?"

Cora Kitonobe
Mentions- Will @Mundane Monster And Rei @xLarius

Ah, Hercules High. It was the world of its own shoved inside a bustling city. A place where anyone abnormal felt they had a chance to be normal. All except Cora of course. The young siren had been tucked inside her dorm room the entire first few days. She'd tried to go out and eat once and blown a hole through one of the walls. She had been hoarding jars of peanut butter since then.

And now here she was, standing at the end of the line to get on the bus to go to school. With her luck she would end up setting the entire bus aflame by just letting out a squeak. Hopefully the teachers had some sage advice for how to stop blowing holes through walls.

Cora glanced at her shaking hands as she reached for the railings on the bus. She made eye contact briefly with the bus driver, giving a tilt of her head as she scurried past him and onto the bus. Nearly every seat was filled and the only people that looked quiet were already in double occupied seats. Everyone else seemed content to try and talk to her, which would certainly spell doom for both of them.

Swallowing hard, Cora ducked her head, tugging her signature black beanie farther over her now red pierced ears. She was about ready to die from embarrassment as she took an empty seat right in front of a girl going on about summoning a giant hand. Cora tugged her things in front of her and leaned against the window, a soft exhale leaving her lips as she waited for them to take off.

Alright, so he would go through the list one more time. He had the time after all with the bus being minutes away. Bed made? Check. Hair combed? Check. Bath? Check...last night. It counted! Backpack filled with various nut butter sandwiches and dried foods? Check. Ipod playing inspirational playlist on loop? Currently blasting! Abe murmured the lyrics to 'Express Yourself' under his breath, trailing off as Ice Cube came in to drop knowledge. He squatted low and laced up the strings on his new sneakers yet again. His mom and dad had insisted on new shoes, wishing for him to save his leather boots for special occasion in order to keep them from being ruined during "super hero practice". Who was he to disobey the folks?

The big and large boy hadn't taken the time to unpack his entire room yet or really explore the city... except for the grocery stores that was. It was imperative that his kitchen be stocked sufficiently. He had made sure to pack his carry-on bag with all the other items he thought that he might need or want for the first day of classes just to make sure he rested well and stayed focused for the occasion. This allowed the giant to be all smiles at the bus stop, sporting a rather fetching navy blue button down over his pressed black denim jeans. Feeling giddy alongside his future classmates, he rocked on his heels a few time, because who was he kidding? First day jubilee was contagious!

He always looked forward to this time of year since it was the end of the growing season, meaning he would have been off the hook for most of his chores had he stayed back home. Plus school allowed him to be around other people his age. It was always a struggle finding time to socialize during the Summer months. Hopefully, with the new school, he'd get to make new friends sooner than later to finish working out the stunt put on his human interaction capabilities that came with working with animals and plants all the time, not that he was complaining. He liked plants and animals more than people most of the time actually.

Pulling out a sandwich to snack on just as the bus happened to roll up, Abe milled his way on with the other kids, taking note of another particularly tall person. A female. He'd flash a charming smile her way. There was a certain kinship to be had with other tall kids. Not that he was cliquish, but sometimes it was nice not to look down on others just to make eye contact. With other peculiar folks like himself all around, he knew this place was going to be a good time. He settled in next to a peer, offering his hand in a warm grip, saying, "Howdy, I'm Abe."

[fieldbox="GM post, goldenrod, dashed, 10"]Savino grinned as the last of the students boarded the bus. As expected, some of them—mostly new ones—chose to sit alone. One kid with a rather flat looking face even pulled out a comic book to occupy himself with during the ride. Savino chuckled to himself; hopefully he doesn’t mind any bumps along the way.

With everyone seated, the door closed with a hiss and Savino pulled off the curb. There was chatter among the students, some of the new faces starting to interact with each other. Others began showing off their powers; one boy had a ball of paper in his open palm that changed shapes and even formed a walking man. Others chose for a quieter option, one girl pulling on a pair of headphones and bobbing her head to the beat. Savino glanced at them from his rearview mirror; they seemed to think this was a normal bus ride. Well, it’s time to change that.

Savino pressed a large white button on the right panel of the wheel. Seatbelts and a railing like those from a roller coaster appeared from within the seats; some students immediately adjusted the seatbelt to fit while others looked rather confused at new additions to what might have been a normal school bus.

“Please fasten your seatbelts and remain seated for the duration of the ride,” said a cool female voice over the speaker. “All items should be placed on the floor in front of you, and windows must be closed to prevent cabin pressure loss.” Any open window in the bus snapped closed before the female voice spoke again. “Please do not open the windows and stick out any limbs, personal belongings, protrusions or show a display of powers for the duration of the ride. Please remain seated and relax as you make your way to Hercules School.”

“On behalf of all Hercules shuttles, thank you for choosing Hercules School for Super-Powered Individuals,” said Savino, turning around to smile pleasantly at the students. If one were to look closely, they would see Savino's brown eyes had now taken on a green hue; the pupils had a gold lines criss-crossing each other similar to a circuit board. Savino turned to the front, pulling open three panels on his dashboard and de-assembled his wheel until it resembled an airplane control panel. Yellow airplane wings slid out from the side of the bus before disappearing, as if blending in with the background. This applied to the entire bus, making it unseen to anybody outside. The bus now approached a closed highway filled with traffic cones and constructions signs. A light flashed overhead, showing a seatbelt being fastened like what one would see on an airplane. Savino checked the controls one last time. Satisfied, he began moving forward again. A road construction sign standing in the middle of the highway folded down, allowing the bus to pass through as it gained more speed than possible for a normal bus. Savino pulled the lever and soon they were in the air.

As they rose higher, the ground below became increasingly smaller, cars and people moving around like little dots. The wings were still not visible to either those inside or outside, but occasionally there was a small whir as the panels adjusted themselves to the wind.

“The shuttles have a cloaking technology that refracts light for invisibility. It’s to prevent anybody from tracking where the school is, or even potentially shooting down any buses while in flight,” Savino said as they passed over a large cloud. “Credit for the tech goes to the scientists over in Crux Labs next to the dorms. They can be a bit odd, but they’re there to help!”

The bus did looped once and resumed a normal flight. They passed through a very thick large cloud revealed what looked like a building hovering in the sky.

“And there she is. Coupled with technology that keeps it afloat and constantly moving, Hercules School is only accessible from specialized shuttles, or warp pads if you’re a staff member. Using your own form of transportation to school isn’t permitted as the campus is equipped with advanced radar and weaponry that won’t hesitate to destroy unknown anomalies on sight. It won’t even care if you are a student.” He glanced at the boy who had made an airplane out of his paper walking man and was trying to see if he could get it to float.

Savino looped around the building once then eased the shuttle onto the landing strip just outside the school.

“And there you go,” he said, opening the doors. “Like I said, the day was perfect so no troubles at all going to school. Freshmen and new students, please meet under the Hercules Monument to receive your schedules and homeroom number. Oh, and looks like Principal Bernard Yuristheenis is out here as well.” Savino pointed towards a middle-aged man with glasses standing underneath the statue. “Go say hi if you want. He’s a bit out there, but he’s a good man. Just don’t ask him about his ancestors, you’ll be there forever.”

A dark expression loomed over Savino’s face. He shook it off, then waved goodbye to the students.

The girl with the headphones hopped off the bus and made her way to the designated meeting spot for freshmen. The Hercules Monument was made of bronze and sculpted into the proud image of the mythological hero, wearing ancient Greek armor with a lionskin on his head. The statue mimicked the artistic style of ancient Greece, capturing the presence and influence of the legendary hero for whom the school was named after.

“Good morning!” greeted Bernard. A staff member trailed behind him, carrying a clipboard in and a large stack of ID badges. He held out his hand to the girl. “And your name is?”

“Philomela,” the girl replied, shaking his hand. “Philomela Dean.”

The staff member went through the list on her clipboard then handed Philomela her ID badge. A series of instructions flashed on the badge, telling her to hold the badge at eye level and smile for three seconds. Philomela raised an eyebrow, briefly glanced at the excitable blond kid with the cards before following the instructions. The badge turned pure white for a moment, then the school logo faded into view along with a picture of Philomela’s face.

“That badge will be your library card as well as your check-in badge if you need to use our facilities and on-campus dining service. You only get one per year, so I wouldn’t lose it if I were you. Alright, who’s next?”[/fieldbox]

Cora Kitonobe
Mentioned- @anyone who wants to save the poor vomiting girl
Cora was perfectly happy to keep to herself as the doors to the bus closed easily. Tugging her jacket down farther over her hands Nova pushed in her earbuds like a few other students, leaning against the window of the yellow bus. She longed to be anywhere but where she was. After all, the government had sent her here for a reason. She wasn't supposed to exist. Sighing heavily Cora was less focused on anything else but the scenery outside.

That was until a seatbelt flew into her lap and scared the living daylights out of her.

Staring down at the seat and then up at the bus Coral hesitantly pulled out an earbud as the words of the bus itself began to drift into her ears. She swallowed hard, taking the restraints and fastening them as directed. She hadn't a clue why they were doing so but here they were, being belted in. Some of the kids seemed confident this was all entirely normal so Cora followed suit.

The peace didn't last long as Cora tried to shove out the noises of confused students. She needed to calm down before she ended up doing something to punch a hole through the strange transport.

It didn't take long for the day to get even stranger as the bus went barreling down a closed high way right for a road closed sign. The tension in Cora's body began to grow as the orange billboard soon grew closer. Her body pulsed teal as she gripped onto her jacket. She was only seconds away from screaming when.....

Air. They were in the air. Not plumiting to their deaths. The bus had taken flight. Cora looked around her, her hands slowly unclenching but nerves still spilling from every pore as the bus soared confidently through the air. Seeing the school in sight was the only form of comfort for Cora, the earbuds long forgotten.

By the time the bus stopped Cora could have sworn she was going to hurl. Her breakfast jar of peanut butter was starting to come back up. Cora was the second to unlatch herself and get off the bus, promptly leaning over to heave onto whatever land was closest to the bus. She did not do well with suddenly having herself chucked into the air on a magical flying school bus with a bunch of noise and stress, but vomit was better than punching holes through things. Her body made shivering noises as she recovered and stumbled towards the attendant.

"Cora... Kitonobe.' She swallowed, pressing a hand to her mouth as she controlled the urge to hurl again. "Maybe I'll take the Id picture later." She mumbled softly, her voice barely a squeak as she tried to avoid hurling onto the nice man's shoes.

SAM:

Sam regretted being one of the first to step aboard. The next person to step up to the plate was an energetic blonde. One earbud in, grinning, bouncing...he was already too much for Sam. Looking at how ready he was made him nauseous. Sam wasn't ready. Sam just wanted to be back home.

Sam should stop thinking in the third person. His eyebrows scrunched together as he flipped through his pages, skimming through text he'd read well over a hundred times in the past. Is this how it's gonna be? All these "go-getters" and just one of me? He tapped his thumb to his tongue and kept it there as he became lost in thought. So lost, in fact, that Mayra's voice and presence was about as evident as a cricket in the field: Noticeable, but not something that'd prompt Sam to look for the source anytime soon. Instead, Sam continued to huddle himself in the corner of his seat. He raised his legs up until his chin rested between his knees, hiding his short frame behind bland jeans and dusty-white sneakers.

The sounds outside of his own head quickly submitted to the same fate as Mayra's voice once Sam got to worrying, so naturally, he didn't catch the safety instructions coming from the bus driver. He was out of place for the seatbelt, but he didn't catch that either, and even as they picked up ground speed, Sam only stuck his nose further into his book, trying less to read, and more to think. There's gonna be a hundred to one, cool people and me, and it's gonna be just like the old school. If I can just stay low for a day and tell 'em that I...that I can't use my powers! I'll just pretend that I can't use my powers today, and they'll just give up on me.

The short boy gave a definitive nod to himself, proud of the idea, but the bus took off at the same time, and everything went downhill from there. Sam, who had never once been in an airport, much less an airplane, was shocked by the feeling of rising into the air. This wasn't normal. Not for cars, and definitely not for busses. He should know. He spent plenty of time getting acquainted with a Greyhound on his way to the dorms. His head slung from his book to the window, and the sight caused his breath to hitch. His hands reflexively opened wide to reach for his face, but upon realizing he was dropping his comic, Sam looked back to it in an attempt to snatch it back. Again, the circumstances were simply sending him further down a rabbit hole.

In the time it took Sam to find his breath again, the comic book was back in his hands. He held it unintentionally between him and Mayra, and watched in horror as it began to close in on itself, a blackish hue overshadowing parts of the pages in what looked to be a sphere-shape.

"Oh no. N-No, no! C'mon, no!" Sam seemed to plead with the pages as they scrunched and crumbled tighter and tighter together, wrapping around what must have been a strange source to whatever anomally was happening. Though it was small enough, it was likely that anyone within a few body-widths of Sam could feel the gentle tug of the gravitational singularity that his crumpled comic housed. Doubtless, Mayra felt it the most, and Sam could only shift his eyes pathetically between her and his comic, as though waiting for someone to yell at him to do something about it.

"S-Sorry!" Sam spat out after a moment longer, realizing that this was his responsibility now, not anyone elses. His freshly cut fingernails dug desperately at the wad of paper that was his entertainment for the ride to school, ripping through bits of the paper just enough for him to get to the core of what he had done. In the next moment, the gravitational tug stopped. The sudden release of pressure caused bits and pieces of the comic he had ripped up to pop away like confetti, painting an even sadder image of Sam, who had been crying through the process without realizing it. Having bits of his book decorate his puffy red face felt like insult to injury.

"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry..." Sam muttered, taking his paper clump and stuffing it back into his bag with a sniff. Then he set about picking up the scraps. He gave up after realizing some had fluttered into the center walkway, and stuffed himself back into the seat corner until landing. Then he recklessly and desperately squeezed himself past Mayra's legs and out of the bus, running to wherever he was pointed to without much thought.

"S-Sam Kulka!" He responded to the staff member without question, ignoring how stuffed up his nose was, or how red his cheeks were. He just wanted to go. Go somewhere. Anywhere. Away, towards, up, down...Sam just wanted to be gone. Once again, his mind was jogging up a storm ugly enough to blot out the sun, so Sam followed the directions on the ID card without a second thought...though he definitely wasn't smiling. When the picture came into view, it prompted a tearful groan from Sam. Under the school logo, more instructions appeared on allowing a second picture, but Sam could barely make out his own face on the card, much less squint to read the small lettering. One moment later, and the picture changed, arguably for the worse. Sam had to bite his inner lip to keep from groaning again, and instead shoved the ID into his pocket before he could make another mistake. Unsure of what to do next, Sam folded his arms across his center and stood awkwardly under the school's statue. He had already been tripped up enough today to care about how he looked anymore, and his plan to pretend not to have powers had already fallen through...seems he'd just have to suck it up.

Rei had been subconsciously rubbing the band aid on his face, a problem he had run into in the wild city. He had somewhat missed the family car the butler used to drive, but there wasn't anything he would trade not to be watched by wary eyes. He had become less bouncy and but the smile had been stuck on his face. As he heard a voice he turned his head, he intermediately perked right back up,

"Hey, I'm Will. I'll save you the small talk and just come out with it. I can summon a giant hand out of whatever's around. Except living things--Can't use them. How 'bout you?" Rei took a moment to examine the individual, he made note that he had to remember this face but at the same time he just couldn't get a grip on it. The chances that he'd be seeing her more often was highly likely though, so he'd get to it eventually. He also watched as the other students settled down before he opened up his mouth. At that exact moment the announcements filled the air. He shrugged before placing his cards into their respective case and shoved them into his bag setting it down on the floor. He pondered whenever this was normal bus procedure, he listened as the seat belt clicked before pondering the effects of not putting his seat belt on. He'd chance it next ride, best not to tick off the 'average' bus driver. Besides he was growing fond of the slightly peculiar individual.

As they left the ground Rei's eyes seemed to sparkle as they looped. He's always been used to plane rides sure, but looping around was one thing they've never done on a professional airline. Then again, professional airlines have old people on board and it'd be a problem for them if one of the folks passed out. Rei turned his attention back to Will before he continued the conversation,

"Name's Rei." Rei paused, pondering if he should pull out his rusty pick up lines but considered against it, she seemed to be a 'no funny business' sort of individual.

"I have a knack for crashing into walls." Rei said tapping his chin looking for words to describe his power. He sort of released energy like a bang pow! That'd never work as a description right? He pondered his next choice of words before the bus landed. A flash of disappointment was shown in his expression as he pushed pass Will, snagging his bag into his arms.

"We'll meet sometime later, it was a pleasure to-"
He coughed before he quickly shook his head, continuing. He sounded like he was wearing a suit, god those things changed him. Rei regarded before continuing with his departure, he quickly finished his departure before the other students trying to get out became restless.

"Later!"
He said with a wink before he continued getting off the bus. His mouth fell open as he made his way to statue, taking in the sights he watched as a red faced individual ran passed him. He tilted his head curiously before turning his attention to the staff member.

"Name's Rei Arias." He said before following the instructions, without thought he shoved it into one of the empty pockets. He curiously approached the blue haired female who looked like she was at the tip of puking. He picked up his schedule before heading towards her. He took a moment to examine the situation as he bowed his head at the staff member and started to push her towards an outdoor trashcan, he didn't find it too hard to do either.

"I'll apologize for this later, I swear it." Rei said in a cheerful tone.

"I'm kidnapping you for the moment if you don't mind." As they reached the trash can he moved to the side of her and crouched down so he could look at her face, it wasn't like they had walked far he just hoped she hadn't want to throw up because of the sudden contact between the two. Rei tilted his head curiously, the smile on his face had dissipated.

"It'd be a real issue if you weren't looking your best for your picture, eh? Although you're a cutie as it is. Perhaps you would have been fine." The blonde commented with a softer smile before continuing with a more joking statement.

"I'm Rei if you hadn't heard my name many times before. I'm having a weird déjà vu moment."

Cora thought she was going to hurl onto the man's shoes, making the teacher himself very uncomfortable. Cora lurched forward slightly, about to throw up again when she felt someone steering her away from the man's shoes. The movement was at a cost though. Soon enough she found herself over a trash can and promptly heaving again into the receptacle. She let out a long groan and a breath as she spit out any remains of the bile.

"Oh god....." She mumbled, slumping against the trash can feebly as she tried to take in her surroundings. There was someone handsome sitting by her, granted he appeared blurry at the moment. She sighed, closing her eyes as she leaned against the trash can.

"Thanks, for that. I'm not cute though." She mumbled, still leaning on the trash can. "Thanks for trying to cheer me up though. I suppose I should thank you." She mumbled, sighing again. "I'm just lucky my body is too nauseous to hurt anyone right now." She mumbled, opening her eyes. Rei came into focus as she tried to look at him, his bright blond hair sticking out.

"So much for making myself invisible so I wouldn't burden anyone." She sighed, finally sitting down onto the concrete. She tugged her beanie farther over her reddening ears.

It seemed the school year decided to get off to a great start. Mayra blinked as a seatbelt and a railing popped up from the seats. This was sounding far too like an airplane for this to be a normal bus ride. Then again, this was a bus for a special school for superheroes. Of course they would have to go the extra mile and have a flying bus which probably led to a school in the sky. Still, they obviously didn't take the care of a gentle takeoff like an airplane did. Mayra gripped her seat as hard as she could until the plane-bus eventually leveled out a bit and settled into a more stable-ish flight. Sighing, Mayra was about to just close her eyes and wait the ride/flight out when she felt something pulling her. Curious, Mayra opened an eye and looked over at the source of the sudden pull.

The nervous boy was clutching at a crumpling ball of paper as it succumbed to some kind of gravitational pull. This must've been his powers. Looking a little more closely, Mayra recognized the paper as the boy's comic. Ah geeze. She bit her lip as she looked over to the boy. Poor kid. He was going to be crushed. She wished she could help as the boy stuttered and tried desperately save his comic. However, there wasn't much she could do. Just as she was going to settle back again, she noticed the lack of seatbelt and railing on the younger boy. Before she could properly think about it, she reached over around the paper to buckle the smaller boy in and pulling the rail over him. Leaning back with a little difficulty, Mayra realized that she might have crossed a boundary by just reaching over to help the boy like some kind of mother. She opened her mouth, about to apologize for being so weird when the boy started apologizing himself. She blinked, watching as he stuttered through apologies and trying to salvage his comic.

"No, no, you're all right." Mayra soothed immediately, reacting on autopilot. She hesitated to do more as the comic exploded into confetti. Sputtering and wiping some of the comic pieces from her face, she watched as the boy tearfully tried to collect his now ruined comic. He kept apologizing, as if this were some great inconvenience to Mayra and he wasn't the one who had just lost something he obviously treasured a lot. Mayra didn't know what she would've done if she lost a comfort object like that. She opened her mouth, trying to comfort him when he stumbled past and rushed off the bus. For a few moments, Mayra could only stare at the seat in front of her. After seeing a few more people walk past, Mayra realized that she needed to get off of the bus as well. Awkwardly pushing herself up, she grabbed her bag and headed out.

Immediately, Mayra saw a puking girl get dragged off by the fidgety boy. Comic boy was still upset, and everyone else seemed to be just trying to ignore it. Wasn't this just a wonderful start to the school year? She sighed as she walked up to the adult handing out ID's. "Mayra Ruiz." She mumbled, taking the ID and immediately moving away from the group of fellow newbies. She pocketed the card and looked around to try and see who else was going to this school. Despite her efforts, Mayra's eyes were drawn to the short, teary boy as he stood looking absolutely miserable and lost. She frowned. Oh no. Her feet started to move. Oh God. She adjusted her bun. She was making a mistake! She stood in front of the short, curly haired blond. Why was she like this? She reached out and tapped his shoulder.

"Um..." Of to a great start. Mayra cleared her throat and tried once more. "Um, hi! I just... Are you okay? I mean, you really seemed to like your comic and I totally get how horrible accidentally messing something up you like can be. Like, there's been so many times I accidentally warped some of my toys while playing with them... A-anyway! I was just trying to ask if you were doing all right and if you can replace your comic? I mean..." She glanced away from the boy, looking around at the crowd desperately. Her whole stance screamed "Please take this small child from me and help me!" However, she couldn't really just leave the poor kid alone after the whole first day debacle. Mayra chewed on her lip, hoping that someone could save her from this situation.

SAM:

Sam hadn't been standing around for more than a minute, maybe two, when a familiar face stepped off the bus. Sam tried to peg it down, but the panic in the bus mixed with his blurry, tear-stained vision didn't help. It wasn't until she, Mayra Ruiz, if he heard correctly, started approaching him that Sam realized where he recognized her from.

Gads, my face! Gads, my eyes! Don't look! I'm not crying! Stop crying! Sam went into an understated flurry of wiping away his eyes and sniffing up what tears he could. The process made him look like more of a mess than he began as, but the end result worked out well enough. By the time Mayra got out her question about his comic, all that was left of Sam's crybaby face was bright red cheeks and a sour frown. With a final sniff, he looked at the first person he would ever exchange words with at this new school. Maybe she would be a new friend! Maybe she was at least nice? Maybe-

...Maybe she's a head taller than me... Sam choked on the courage he had been trying to build up, and recognized just how out of place he was when next to this giant, giant girl. He had never seen a girl this tall before. His mom was taller than him, sure, but she wasn't "tall" tall. Sam had to tilt his head to look her in the eyes, and by the time he strained his neck to do so, he wished he hadn't, and looked back down at his shoes, ashamed at his childish looks. Even if she was trying to help, it was pretty obvious that she didn't want to be around him either.

"H-Hi..." He sputtered, folding his hands behind his back.

Okay, what's next? Thanks? Yes? No? What's your power? You're tall? I like your turtle-neck? Can we be friends? C'mon, think Sam! Ma says good first impressions are everything! Alright, here it goes!

"Th...Yeah, I...No, I mean, p-powers, and...and you're t-tall? I l-like...um, f-friends?"

Sam had looked back up at Mayra and blinked a few times, registering whether he wanted to try and continue on, or just break down into tears again. Neither option sounded appealing.

"S-Sorry, I'm okay!" He huffed out with finality, returning his gaze to his shoes. Hopefully that'd be enough to get out of conversation with the giant girl. It wasn't that he didn't like the company; his periodic glances at Mayra's footwear said that much, it was just so hard. Getting used to public school is just so haaard...

Rei let out a chuckle, "So what name belongs to this fair maiden?" He said in a joking tone as his eyes seemed to shine with pure curiosity. "The plane- er bus. Or whatever it is, caught you by surprise didn't it?" The blonde commented before brushing away a stray blonde hair. He let out a sigh, he had spent forever trying to control it only this morning. He supposed that the plane ride disrupted the position his hair had to maintain in order to stay neat. He ran his hand through his hair before standing up and stretching. His grin widened, "I've never been on anything like it! Pa would probably wouldn't allow it if he had a say. He'd say something dumb like how much paperwork would accumulate from the lawsuits that people could pursue." Rei frowned. "I wonder if the school could get sued for the extremely dangerous circumstances regarding the security systems. It isn't any of my concern anyhow. Just curious." Rei continued before giving a sheepish grin. "I suppose I've been rambling on again, my bad."

He looked back at his watch before frowning. "Shall we compare schedules before I depart? Or maybe you wanna walk together? The only issues with that is if you can keep up." Rei for the most part was teasing but he was well aware of how sports had trained his leg muscles but overall it had made him more antsy. A twitch of a frown appeared on his face, he was glad he hadn't taken along the business packets his father had stuffed in his luggage.

Cora kept herself slumped against the trash can as Rei rambled on. His constant noise was enough to fuel her up and get her moving though her stomach still argued against such. Leaning back against the metal can Cora kept to herself, tugging her hat farther down her head as the man talked about his family. She was hoping to avoid that subject so she decided it was time to gracefully deflect from the subject.

"Sounds like you're dad was really protective. Mine would have been more curious than anything." She mumbled, messing with her sleeve as she tried and utterly failed to gracefully change the topic of conversation. Sighing Cora gently stood up.

"I'm going to need help getting to my classroom." She mumbled softly, placing a hand to her head. The insistent jabbering of Rei may have given her some energy back she was still to weak to walk at a normal pace. In fact she might end up slamming into something if she wasn't careful. Cora leaned against the trash can and avoided looking at Rei.

"It's Cora." She mumbled softly, the unfamiliar name floating easily off her lips. She was never allowed to use it back home, she wasn't a person she was a thing. She found it easier to recite the nickname she was given. Cora wiped her mouth again and spit into the can before she started moving towards the school at a slow pace.

She rescinded her earlier statement about the ride to the school being a disappointment because this was FREAKING AWESOME! While some kids eyes widened in terror, and others gripped their seats rigidly, some students whooped and cheered and Will was right with them. She desperately hoped the ride to school would be like this everyday. And the bus driver! As soon as the announcement had come on, Will's eyes had zeroed in on the driver and she'd witnessed his eyes going all robot like. Was he a robot? Or was his power looking like a robot? Either way, the dude was kick ass.

When the ride was over and they had arrived to school, Will thanked her lucky stars that the dude she had sat next to hadn't had a bout of motion sickness. Speaking of which--Will turned to him to try and continue the conversation but before she could he ended it with an mixed up goodbye and a wink of all things. And with that the guy was gone, leaving Will feeling awkward and somewhat irritated. "Ookay..." She grumbled, as she too exited the bus but not before giving the driver a fist bump. "You're so freaking awesome, bro." Was all she could say before she hopped off the bus.

Feelings of awkwardness from her exchange with 'Rei' pushed aside, Will began to marvel at the architectural anomaly before her. The school was on a cloud. A mother freaking cloud! Which meant they were on a cloud, which also meant they were in the sky! If Will was a different type of girl, she would squeal in delight, but she wasn't so she just did a small fist bump and whispered, "So awesome!" under her breath. As she passed the statue of Hercules, Will wondered about the name of the school and it's apparent mascot. Sure Hercules was great and all and super strong--but he also murdered his wife and kids in a fit of madness. Was it supposed to be a metaphor for how they could use their powers? Obviously not all super powered folk were good and just like regular school, some kids would end up less than successful and do wicked shit. Like her maybe...If she didn't succeed in school would she end up less than--

"Oh my gosh, IDs that take your picture!" Will banished those darkened thoughts from her head and quickly hurried to get her own ID. "Do we get more than one attempt or is it a done deal type of thing?" She asked the teacher as she approached.

"You get two tries, I suggest practicing in a mirror or something first though." The teacher responded with a small smile. "Name?"

"Wilhelmina Washington!" She chirped and dug into her bad for her compact. The teacher handed her the ID and she rushed off to find a nice area, to practice her best smile before she took the ID photo. She wanted to make sure she didn't have anything in her teeth, and that her hair looked okay.

"Cora. Sweet but simple. I might chant it to help me fix my baking." He hadn't the patience or the attention span to pay attention to any baking goodies. He usually left the oven while it was still baking leaving the servants to clean up his mess. It was either that or he'd add too much sugar and nobody had wanted to consume it except his sister. In which they had both caused havoc due to the excitement that had bubbled up in the both of them. His brother used to scold them for that... If he had been watching over them maybe he would have improved. Even if he was at the house it wasn't like he'd pay attention.

Rei shook his head turning his attention to the statement of how 'protective' his father was. He rubbed his neck in a nervous sort of fashion before letting out a sigh. "Not exactly over protective. Just a strict penny pincher. Y'know? Anyhow enough of the old geezer." He walked slowly along her, occasionally pausing so she could keep up. "So what awesome things can ya do? Float? Fly? Super fast dancing?" Rei chirped up, slightly amused.

"I have a special ability in which I can set folks on fire and crash into fencing." Rei wasn't sure exactly what it was, perhaps it was some sort of teleportation. Although that doesn't exactly explain the singeing. He had time to test out what he precisely could do. "I'm not too sure if we have the same schedule." He continued before pulling out his schedule, bounding happily beside her. "Shall we become official buddies now that you know my name? After all we aren't strangers anymore."

Cora looked at Rei as he kept talking. She couldn't help but chuckle a bit at Rei's attitude even though it made her nauseous all over again. She tried to push back the feeling as she wandered forwards next to Rei.

The man was excellent about bringing up topics of conversation that Cora hated. Friendship, powers, and parents. It was like the trifecta of bad things to talk about, though all were normal for the first day of superhero school she supposed.

Sighing gently, Cora rubbed her arm. "I don't know. You're a very nice person but being friends with me would probably hurt you more than be beneficial. Even though we both run into walls." She mumbled, looking down and away as she pulled out her crumpled schedule. "I mean you can check my schedule if you want. I don't really care." She mumbled, her voice getting quieter as she went on. Cora tugged the hat farther down over her head, trying to hide her shame and embarrassment.

Rei took it before giving Cora a puzzling look. "Take it from me, if our relationship hurts me it'll be more mentally than physically. After all I am a charming man who takes pride in getting nose bleeds from walls. Besides, I need some buddies in this place. It'll get quite lonely for me. I could be your knight in shining white armor or some good stuff like that." He said cheerfully. The blonde took her schedule as he scanned over it while he continued to walk. It made him confused that she would even suggest the fact that a simple bond could hurt him. She hadn't answered his question but he wouldn't push it. It wouldn't do to scare the adorable girl away.

"Look's like we'll be seeing a bunch of each other from now. So if you're already sick of my handsome face, well too bad." The blonde snapped his fingers before grinning, he reached into the pockets of his jeans before pulling out a sticker in the shape of a heart. He rubbed the back of his neck before continuing to walk. He stuck it in the top right corner of the paper before folding it and handing it back. He grabbed a marker from his bag before scribbling on his hand some minor notes, such as the name 'Cora' and other things that he had seen throughout the day. He had gotten used to using both his left and right arm, although his right arm was the dominate one. By the end of the day it was more than likely that both his hands and arms would be covered in red ink.

Cora looked at Rei and offered a small smile. "Thanks, really, but I don't think you'd like what I become. Most people don't. I have to restrict myself a lot because my powers tend to be very volatile." She mumbled softly, tugging on her sleeves as he examined her schedule. Cora tucked a strand of loose hair behind her ear as she fidgeted to herself, nodding in thanks as she took the paper back. Opening it back up to double check Cora found herself flushing brightly at the little heart sticker in the corner. She hastily folded the paper back up and tried to shove both it and the thoughts out of her head.

"Oh no, I'm not sick of you. You seem like a nice person that's why I wanted to keep my distance." She mumbled softly, swallowing hard. "I haven't left my room since I got here. I've been surviving on jars of peanut butter."

Rei frowned. What a peculiar person. "Peanut butter huh. Maybe I'll treat ya to dinner. After all, gentlemen don't let ladies pay. If you don't want to be friends fine. Then we can be lovers instead." He said jokingly before nudging the other individual.

"Listen here, if I didn't want to be friends with you I wouldn't insist so much. I'll promise if I get hurt then I'll back off. I swear. It'll just suck not to know that I couldn't introduce you to better people than I. The great Rei. That's almost impossible by the way." He scratched his cheek once more, a habit of when he was making things up on the spot. Last minute conversations or a bout of nervousness. As they reached the classroom he bowed, "Milady."

Cora still kept tugging on her hat as Rei talked to her, feeling self conscious. She didn't want his kindness to turn around on her. She didn't want to hurt him, but this was a place of superpowers. If anyone could withstand her it was probably these people.

"A-alright." She mumbled softly, stuttering slightly. "But I can help pay if you want. I know you already said no but....." She mumbled, tugging on her sleeves more. "I'd feel bad considering I'm the one that keeps trying to push you away." She mumbled, looking up at the classroom. Rei's gentlemanly habits were not helping her embarrassment at all, her cheeks flushing an even darker shade of red as she hurried past him and grasped the door handle. She turned to him. "Just promise me if I start to go crazy, do whatever it is you do with your powers and take me with you." She mumbled, before tugging open the door.

He hadn't often been on planes. In fact, there was only one other instance that he could think of-- his ride to the city! However, in that short period of time he had learned that he freaking loved planes! "Mm-mah!" He shout of excitement was of course muffled by a mouth full of peanut butter and other crooners, but if anyone asked he'd unashamedly repeat his "Yeehaw!" He was sure that he would most likely do it again at some other time of day as it was a super-- in more ways than-- one.

The ride left his nerves tingling and with the boost of energy from his food he was taking off from the bus like a bat out of hell as soon as possible, which was rather late when politeness required he do his utmost not to knock around the other students with his body mass and power. It was a slew of "Excuse me"s and "Pardon"s before he was able to tip his theoretical hat at the good-natured driver and disembark from the hybrid vehicle.

However, once in the big, beautiful courtyard of his new school all the bets were off, and Abe wasted no time taking off-- with maybe a little more force than necessary if the rather deep footprints left in his wake on the sod was any indication. Since everyone was gathering in front of the big statue of some old-timey warrior that was where the big guy was headed.

Once he was there everything was in short order as he took hints from the girl before him. "Hi there, name's Abraham Euriah Harris, good to meet ya. Wilhemina's a nice name. I've got a great-great-auntie with the same so I hope I'm not being forward in saying you must be real sweet like she was." It wouldn't have been too mannerable to peek in on someone else without introducing himself, so he had to say something drawling and Southern to the rather jubilant seeming girl before getting his own materials. Afterward, he stated his name to the proctor, smiling dashingly and taking his id with a "Thank you kindly."

As he took a wide-grinned photo for the camera, he made his way over to the girl who'd caught his eyes before. She really was quite tall. And she was talking to a small fella, but she seemed to be a little uncomfortable, so maybe she wouldn't mind him inserting himself. There was no better way to meet folks than to throw yourself out there anyways.

Lifting a hand in salute, he spoke cordially to the two, "Hey there, name's Abe. How're you folks doing? First day jitters if you're anything like me, I tell ya." He'd make himself the third point of the social triangle, blushing ever so slightly in bashfulness, because boy did he hate the first few sentences separating strangers from acquaintances. Forming friendships was one thing, but back home it was so much nicer to do so, since every conversation skipped the small talk. All it took was to make yourself known and with an easy "Aren't you such-and-such's boy?" you had a new buddy.

[fieldbox="GM post, goldenrod, dashed, 10"]Bernard lurched as a blue haired girl heaved a few inches from his feet. He barely heard her name and his assistant promptly handed her a badge. He was about to pull the girl to a nearby trashcan, but was saved the duty by a young blond man.

“Poor thing.” Bernard shook his head. Then quickly perked up. “I’m sure she’ll get used to it soon though.”

The assistant rolled her eyes at his sudden mood change and turned to the next student in line. One by one the new students were handed a blank card as they approached the statue. Many of them went off on their own, following the directions to take their school ID picture. One boy had an unfortunate stroke of bad luck and used both chances to take a picture, resulting in far from pretty form of identification. Others had a better time with theirs, either striking a pose or framing their IDs to have the Hercules statue in the background. The boy with the paper airplane from earlier tore out sheets of paper from his bag and turned them into various flying creatures. They took the card and held it a distance from him as he held up double peace signs with a huge grin on his lips. After a moment the badge changed to show the boy’s picture and the name Il-Seong Jeong. He joined those who had already finished and compared his ID with the others.

After a few minutes, an upperclassman stood next to the principal and raised his hand.

“Everyone, please check your IDs. If you have a purple flower on your card, please follow me.” The upperclassman raised his arm, the hand growing ten times larger than normal and waving it like a giant flag. The badges of Ilea Hart, Il-Seong Jeong, Philomela Dean, Mayra Ruiz, Cora Kitonobe, Abraham Harris, Sam Kulka, Rei Arias, and Wilhelmina Washington flashed a purple flower on the bottom righthand corner.

Once gathered, the upperclassmen then led the students through the school, giving a small tour as they made their way through the halls. He pointed out classrooms for electives like the art room and the tech development room; the cafeteria was bustling with students awaiting the bell and the gym where a bald, Chinese man with four extra arms hauled multiple bags of equipment.

“Whoa, watch out!” The upperclassmen held out his hand, expanding the limb in size to warn students to stand back. A red streak zoomed by, followed closely by a yellow one. “Our speedsters tend to race in the halls occasionally. It’s fun to watch, but get out of the way as fast as you can or else you’d be caught up in that as well.”

They came to the fifth floor, and the upperclassman pointed towards a room on the west side. Next to the room, in bronze, were the numbers 52.

“And over there is your homeroom.” Rei and Cora had already made their way to the classroom ahead of everyone else. The older student lead those still following and poked his head in to see an empty classroom. “Looks like Ms. Markov is not here yet. I bet she’s out to get some coffee.” He shrugged, as if it was a regular thing for the teacher to be late all because of a need for coffee. “You guys can hang around here for until she comes in. I’m done here, so see you guys around!” And with a wave, he left.[/fieldbox]
