Lorelei was running through the woods in her wolf form, running from a hunter with silver bullets. It was the day of the full moon and so she had been forced into her other form. She had no problems with being a werewolf and actually very much enjoyed being one but she liked being able to shift on her own terms, not when Mother Moon decided that she had to. Her paws were light on the forest floor as she tried to place as much distance between her and the hunter, trying to avoid getting shot by the man.

When Mother decided she needed to shift, she lost most of her human mind and reverted to an almost entirely wolf mind. So as she ran, she was not thinking of any method of escaping her situation other than run away as her wolf wanted. She tried her best to not be violent towards humans, she hated to cause people pain but animals were fair game to her so she had gone after some cows, the hunter must have owned them to be so angry about her attacking it.

She jumped over a fallen log and as she was in the air, she heard a shot ring out. She felt a sharp pain in her side and as she landed onto the ground, she collapsed to the ground. Her wolf was screaming to get up and keep running but she fell every time she tried to stand so she stayed on the ground. The hunter came up close to her and must have figured this would kill her so he simply turned around and left her there.

Lorelei gave up on getting herself up again and raised her eyes to the sky above her, howling in despair over the fact that this was the way she was going to die. She howled sadly and lowered her head to the ground, resting it on her paws and whimpering softly as she awaited her death.

Jordan melted into the couch, late night television long replacing whatever movie he slept through. He groaned, figuring that at least he could have had something to do if … anything worked out for him. Maybe if any of his tinder dates actually wanted to hook up, if none of his friends had work all the damn time. Hell, he would've preferred going to school all over again instead of this. This…this… bullshit of housesitting a goddamn cabin or whatever in the middle of the goddamn woods. Sure he wanted to get some extra cash. But his dad's business partner made this sound like a goddamn mansion or some shit. Not the fucking, cabin in the woods cabin.

Damn it, he trusted that guy! Like, he said his daughter was hot and sure enough, Stephanie was a fucking dime. She had a boyfriend though, so that was out of the picture for him. Even if the cabin wasn't that bad, Jordan knew he was just bored out of his goddamn mind. And looking around, the cabin did have some nice features. The TV got his mind off of a lot of things, the view was pretty sweet whenever he could be awake for it, and there was a fucking hot tub. Now that was shit he could get behind if there was ANYONE there.

Like anyone, even his parents would have been fine for Jordan … Okay maybe not his parents but how weird would it have been to go in a hot tub by himself? Especially in the middle of the day. Jordan looked at the time, pairing with his stomach starting to rumble. Even if it was already 5:30, the sky was still fairly light outside. At least he was lucky that there were plenty of meals that he could've either stuck in the oven or let simmer and throw with some pasta or something, carefully labeled in the fridge.

Jordan ended up picking out some Swedish meatballs before he heard what he thought was howling. At first he tried to ignore it, watching the meatballs thaw in the pan and cook in their own sauce. But then the noise got stronger, even if it strangely enough sounded more muffled, and almost sounded like… crying? Jordan didn't think he would be attacked by a wolf or something this early before the sunset, but he didn't want to risk it at first. However, the crying like sounds resonated with him, getting him to wonder if maybe it was just someone with a dog or something.

So, after turning off the meatballs, Jordan went out to search, calling out to anyone who could have understood him. He brought the first aid kit, not knowing whether it would be used on anyone, even himself. He further kept into the direction of the noises, finding no human in pain, or even a cute dog, but a wolf. The wolf whimpered, like it was ready to die. Now, the logical thing to do here, would be to turn around and act like nothing happened, and eat his dinner in peace. But honestly? This is the most exciting thing that has happened in the past couple of days. Plus? Jordan always wanted a dog.

"Uh… hey there big guy." Jordan said, approaching the creature slowly. "I got some jerky for ya if you don't rip my face off." He said, taking the jerky out and placing it gently in front of the wolf's snout.

Lorelei had been laying there, waiting for her death to claim her as she could almost feel her life fading away when a human had found her whining. She didn't bother lifting her head but followed him with her eyes, wanting to keep a close watch in case he turned out to be like the other human who had shot her. Though her opinion of this man skyrocketed with the food offered to her and she slowly moved her head closer to the jerky, watching him suspiciously before taking the dried meat into her mouth and chewing vigorously. The jerky was tougher than the other food she was used to while in wolf form but it was food so she didn't mind all that much.

She lifted her head off the ground, tilting it back to look up at the man when she had finished the jerky and waited to see if he had any more for her. She went to shift her weight off of one of her legs, it had fallen asleep a while ago and she let out a pained whine, the movement pulling on her open gunshot wound. She looked back at it, sniffing it softly before licking it to try and clear away some of the blood that was staining her white fur red. She wasn't sure what this man was doing near her but if he was going to help, she would accept it so she turned to look at him and whined pitifully, trying to pull some sympathy from him.

Lorelei knew that there was really no way to tell him that she was a girl unless she wanted to lift her legs and frankly, she had no interest in that so she decided to wait until he said something to try and tell him otherwise. She was hoping that he would do what he could and then he would leave her be in the woods, she didn't want to shift in front or near him and scare the living daylights out of the man who thought he was rescuing an actual wolf.

Jordan watched as the wolf sniffed at the jerky, eventually accepting it and chewing. Okay. Cool. The wolf wasn't trying to kill him yet. He felt the relief go through his chest as he kept watching, noticing little things about the wolf as it continued to eat the jerky. It was a little smaller than he thought big wolves should have been, making him wonder if this was a boy or girl, among other things. But the main thing that caught him off guard was just how dirty it was. The low light didn't give much off so he came back closer, putting some more jerky near the foot of the wolf.

The more the wolf wasn't reacting aggressively, the sicker this immediately got for Jordan as he reached for his phone and began to film. "Dude, this is so fucking sick, this wolf likes jerky oh my god." He whispered into the phone as he got closer to the wolf again. "It's covered in something but like, he - or she, I haven't really checked - doesn't seem to want to hurt me or anything." Jordan scanned the wolf with his camera, only to stop on the leg and finally understand where the mess was coming from. "Oh shit", he focused on the bullet wound, "Did you get shot bud?" he asked, starting to back away a little.

Did he have the right tools to actually be trying to help this wolf out? Absolutely fucking not. But Jordan knew he wasn't going to waste more jerky on a wolf that might die from some shit, and he'd be a hero if this shit worked out. He'd go fucking viral maybe. Hell, he didn't know. But he knew that the wolf was probably hurting, and that shit shouldn't have been left infected. "You just keep eating bud." He said, putting another piece of jerky on the pile, along with a peanut butter bar. Hey, dogs liked peanut butter, wolves should too right?

Jordan put his phone back in his pocket before getting the first aid kit he brought along. The tweezers were far too small to look for an actual entry wound but he did have gauze and alcohol. That should be enough. Maybe. Jordan shrugged off the insecurities as he looked back at the wolf. "Okay dude, "He said, figuring that dude was gender neutral enough. Not that the wolf should have given a shit but whatever, things get weird. "I'm gonna do what I can for this. You got a pretty deep wound." He said, looking over the leg and getting his phone out. "So this wolf, got like, a really deep fucking wound and like, I'm gonna try to treat it." He narrated.

"This is gonna sting a little," he warned as got out the gauze and alcohol pads, slowly rubbing the leg wound down with the alcohol before scooting back for a reaction. Even if the wolf was chill so far, he - or she - could have changed its mind and kicked his ass.

(I'm so sorry this took so long, I've had a rough two weeks with school stuff but I'm good now if you still want to continue)

Lorelei watched this man put more food in front of her paw and despite the fact that she didn't want to be taking food from someone, she was hungry enough to just start eating it, her jaw working overtime on the tough jerky. She watched him as she chewed, looking over his phone and figuring out that he was filming his encounter with the 'super friendly wolf who was hurt'. When he figured out what was wrong with her she let out a low whine, trying her best to look pitiful enough that he would want to help her.

She picked up the peanut butter bar he had offered her and chewed aggressively, she loved peanut butter in both of her forms. When she finished chewing, she decided she didn't want to watch him do anything to her leg and flopped her head onto the ground, laying on her side and stretching her injured leg out towards him. She knew that pain was coming but she wasn't sure when and watching him do it would only make it worse.

She stretched her leg out far enough to rest her paw against his leg, wanting something to push against to keep her leg from moving enough to mess with whatever he was going to do. She whined in pain at the feeling of the alcohol seeping into the wound, it stung so very much. If she had been human at the time, she would be screaming but as a wolf, she wasn't quite able to unless she wanted to howl but she figured that that would scare the man away from her and he would stop helping.

She just prayed that whatever he was doing would be enough to let her heal slightly so that she wasn't in as much pain after she shifted to her human form. Her pain tolerance dropped after she shifted, she wasn't sure why but things that barely hurt her while a wolf would cause her incredible pain while human and she was incredible pain right now. She shifted enough to be able to look at his face without seeing her own leg, wanting to at least look at the man who was trying to help her despite the fact that he didn't have to.
