Romance is a big plus for me, but I can be pretty adaptable
Tell me, have you ever heard of the term "Chuunibyou", or "Eighth Grader Syndrome"? For those not familiar with this Japanese term, you might understand better by hearing it's more common English synonym: "Delusions of Grandeur". This is a sad affliction that typically affects young adolescents, its most drastic form making those who contract it believe they have special powers or are somehow connected to and surrounded by the occult. For those such patients, the period in which they retain these delusions later develops into an embarrassing period of shame that forever haunts their memories, despite how much fun they seem to have at the time. In most cases this behavior subsides by the beginning of one's first year in high school, but there are some cases where patients retain their status as chuunibyou patient for the remainder of their school days and sometimes longer.

About
This is an RP loosely based on the anime "Chuunibyou Demo Koi ga Shitai". I say loosely because it recycles similar themes and setting, but with all original characters. No canon characters will show up in this RP, and only characters approved in the CS thread for this RP should be posting in the IC. If someone is interested in joining they can post here in the OOC about their interest as well as infer as to where the plot is moving, and then fill out a CS, which should only be posted in the CS thread (both linked above). The rules for this RP are as follows:
  1. [BCOLOR=#800000]First and foremost you need to adhere to the standard rules of RPing: no powerplaying or meta-gaming, but mild godmoding or auto-hitting is allowed as long as it's to the point of, say, occasionally having a perfect counter, flicking someone too close on the forehead, or sneaking up behind someone who is distracted and tickling them or the likes, but anything beyond is forbidden. That said, many acts of light auto-hitting like the tickling will still need to be discussed between players in the OOC for permission.[/BCOLOR]
  2. [BCOLOR=#ffff00]The next thing I can't stress enough is that characters don't necessarily need to get along, but players should still show respect to each other in the OOC and retain a positive environment here.[/BCOLOR]
  3. [BCOLOR=#000080]The IC will be conducted in an orderly manner with an episodic style where character posting order will be determined prior to each episode. Depending on how things turn out it may be possible that some posting orders will be reused, but that is to be determined. Players may also use a posting profile to spruce up their posts should they wish to use one.[/BCOLOR]
  4. [BCOLOR=#ff0000]Players are not aloud to post in the IC unless their character has been approved and it is that character's turn to post.[/BCOLOR]
  5. [BCOLOR=#ffcc99]Even though this is based on the Chuunibyou series, one does not need to have actually seen or read the series to join as long as they can match the setting, though it is nonetheless highly recommended as the series is great![/BCOLOR]
  6. [BCOLOR=#333333]Like in the series there will be delusion battles on occasion. Make sure that all actions performed in the realm of fantasy during such events are justifiable within the constructs of the realm of reality.[/BCOLOR]
  7. [BCOLOR=#008000]Despite this RP focusing around the concept of chuunibyou, it does not mean you can't have a character like Kumin or Isshiki from the anime: one who's either completely oblivious to chuunibyou or doesn't quite have it but is mildly interested in the idea.[/BCOLOR]
  8. [BCOLOR=#999999]On the subject of characters: there will be a max cap of 2 per player to begin with. This being said, both characters do not need to be submitted or enter the fray at the beginning. In other words, you could go ahead and submit a CS for 2 different characters if you want, and have one enter in later on in the RP, and you could also submit just one in the beginning and then submit another one at a later date when inspiration strikes you. This goes without saying that you can also submit 2 characters and start RPing as both right from the get-go. If the latter is done then, when character posting order is chosen, you may have influence over which of your two characters you'd like to post as before the other, but they will still adhere to the randomly generated order and they can not switch places after the order has been set. One more thing to note is that although the initial character limit is 2 per person, if,later on down the road, anyone feels that they want to have another character they are free to submit a third as long as they can still keep up.[/BCOLOR]
  9. [BCOLOR=#003366]Bear in mind while you are creating your character that since this RP is anime-based all FCs need be in anime style and of decent quality; whether they are official anime/manga art, anime-style game art, or fan art/commission. Sources won't need to be cited, however, so no need to stress there.[/BCOLOR]
  10. [BCOLOR=#ff9900]Another point to note is that, similar to the original series, there will be a dedicated junior high school connected to the high school where most of the setting takes place, so the possibility for making a junior high character like Dekomori is open as long as they have relevance to the setting. Despite this, characters at the high school are not barred from having attended a different junior high school.[/BCOLOR]
  11. [BCOLOR=#800080]Touching up from earlier on character limitations; family members and random NPCs can be used independent of your character limit, as long as they are not used as frequently as a PC would be; the occasional one liner from a random person or RPing as a character's family when around them at home or whatever is acceptable.[/BCOLOR]
  12. [BCOLOR=#ff99cc]Oh, romance? Sure, there can be an element of romance to this RP between characters; just remember that if one or both parties are patients of chuunibyou it will be a long and bumpy road before they can officially be called an item as those suffering from the affliction typically aren't well versed in such deep, complex relationships and will frequently cause problems or misunderstandings. Granted some characters can already be in a relationship upon RP launch, as long as it is specified by both parties in the CS and at least briefly explained in their bio. if players would like to discuss various inner plots such as this among each other they may do so in the OOC.[/BCOLOR]
  13. [BCOLOR=#ffffff]Lastly, this RP will be taking place in modern Japan (specifically: the Minato ward in Tokyo, a.k.a. Minato City), and as such it will be following typical Japanese customs. High school and junior high school each have only 3 years, and classes will begin in April; typically when cherry blossoms begin or are close to blooming. Also, there are no dedicated school buses to pick up students; they will commute to school by either train, public bus, and/or foot depending on the distance between their home and the school. Classes will take place Monday-Saturday, with Saturday being a half day. Also don't forget that all students have foot lockers at the entrance of the school where they switch between their indoor and outdoor shoes which are provided by the student's family. Lastly on the subject is that while there is a cafeteria within the school where students can buy lunches via purchasing vouchers at a machine and then bringing them to the service area, a large percentage of students typically tend to have packed lunches (bentou! XD) brought from home often consisting of leftovers or a small, balanced lunch prepared by family alongside white rice, so make sure to keep these factors in mind.[/BCOLOR]
This is the IC for this RP. AS the GM I take control of major NPCs, such as school staff, but minor ones like random students or family members of one's own approved characters are free game. For those who skipped over the rules due to familiarity you may want to review rules 1 and 3 as they have been touched up. As this is the header thread it will not contain much extra information other than current characters and posting order, which will also be listed at the starting point of each episode which will also be posted by me. Do note that the posting information at the episode starters will be episode specific, while the same information in this post will be up to date to the current episode. I will also include information on the various notable staff members within the school in this head post.

NPC Student(s)

Hitomi Ikeda

---Hitomi Ikeda---
5524-356810373.jpg
Age: 18
Class: 3-B
Club: Karate Club
Personality: Hitomi is normally a very high energy person with a deep interest in anything mysterious or strange. She fantasizes about being an amazing detective or sleuth, and is fairly skilled at staying well informed about the happenings around school and collecting gossip from other students, but despite all this her extreme lack of patience and the fact that she's also slightly airheaded at times makes it difficult for her to actually stake out information herself. All in all she's relatively sweet and kindhearted to most, but can also be fairly mischievous at times if you get on her bad side.
Trivia: She actually originally wanted to start a Mystery Club, but due to being unable to gather interested members the club flopped and she ended up joining the Karate Club since the school enforces that all students join a club and her parents wanted her to learn to protect herself. Surprisingly enough she is one of the few members who is able to keep up with the club president.

As the girl read on, she heard a voice come from nearby that suddenly pulled her out of the world she was happily engrossed in. Upon looking up from her book and glancing in the direction the voice came from, she came to find that her patient had regained consciousness. Placing a bookmark to hold her place in the book, the girl calmly rested the literature on her lap and introduced herself as Satou Shiori from class 2-C.

When the younger girl on the bed straightened up and introduced herself in return, Shiori's first observation was that her kouhai here was very mature and cultured, which was something she felt would allow them to get along rather well. After a short pause she remembered that the girl named Aria was waiting for an explanation of the situation she found herself in, so she lightly cleared her own throat and began pensively thinking of where to start. She began by recounting how she had been sitting in the courtyard near the auditorium reading her book, but she couldn't quite remember the reason why it had to be there; she personally preferred reading in places that were more peaceful and devoid of noise, but she couldn't shake the feeling that there was some important reason why she had to read there specifically.

After a moment of quiet pondering, she moved on. She explained about how, while she was getting to a good point in the book she was reading, she was interrupted by an uproar of noise from a nearby group of students that were mainly made up of her fellow second years and third years. Unable to immerse in the book with the noise level having shot up, she decided she should tune in to figure out what the ruckus was. Apparently there was something going on with someone over there, and it sounded bad. She had thought to herself that maybe a nurse's assistant should go help, but after a moment had remembered that she happened to be one of said assistants. At that point she broke off the story to quietly think aloud that maybe she shouldn't have mentioned that part.

Continuing on, she described how she managed to barely squeeze through the raving crowd to find the albino girl collapsed on the ground and immediately requested room from the crowd before placing her head to the girl's chest to check for a pulse and then listened at her face for breathing. After confirming that she wasn't in immediate danger, she requested that someone help her get the unconscious Aria onto her back so she could carry her to the nurse's office. Upon arrival, the school
nurse, Hirako-sensei, told her to lie Aria down in bed and to simply let her rest. She then recounted sitting down to read again, but just as she was about to say something along the lines of finally having someplace quiet to read she cut herself off, changing what she said partway through with that she was worried about her kouhai and was going to wait until she awoke again to explain what was going on.

After recounting the events of the afternoon with a thoughtful expression on her face, Shiori looked back down at Aria to find the albino girl's face dangerously red. Being completely oblivious to the cause of her redness, the somewhat air-headed upper-
classman asked her kouhai what was wrong. When the response given was that nothing was wrong, she smiled in relief and voiced her thanks. She then asked if Aria would be alright to walk home by herself after what had happened, or if she should walk her home just in case. After a moment of silence, the pale girl replied that she would be fine with her parasol. This statement reminded Shiori that another student had brought it up claiming it to belong to the girl that had collapsed, so she mentioned it to her. She also told her that the students apologized for rushing her so much, hoping that it might make her feel a little better, before standing up and announcing that she would have to leave as it was starting to get late. She grabbed her bag that was sitting next to the chair she had been sitting in, and when she heard Aria wish her a safe journey she gave her a small bow, returned the favor, and then headed out of the infirmary.

...

"!" Shortly after walking out the door, Shiori remembered something in particular and retraced her steps, poking her head back into the doorway to the infirmary. "By the way: I'm from the Reading and Literature Club. Should you be interested, we meet daily after school. Feel free to visit us if you have the time; if you want to." And with that, she was gone once more.

-Time Skip-

After monitoring the entire school until sunset, the student council and disciplinary committee were unable to track down Kazami Ueda or the other student that seemed to be in league with her. Regrettably for both Fukuyama-sensei and Vice President Manami, they couldn't keep searching for her all day until she showed up. Fukuyama-sensei sent the students home, then got a ride home from his wife himself after confirming that all the other students had left. Ever since then, the girl managed to slip away from the student council members that tried to retrieve her, and didn't respond to Fukuyama-sensei's summons. After all of this ruckus, rumors about her and what happened at the club week assembly quickly spread around the school, even reaching the ears of the junior high students attending the attached junior high school. After a full two days of rumor circulation, it appears that a decent amount of students have taken an interest in the enigmatic girl, and have begun to take their own actions to find out more about her, while some still remain oblivious for various reasons. We now pick up the concurrent actions of these students on the following Wednesday after school.

Erin made sure to pack her lunch for the day before she would walk to school. After the ruckus caused in the past two days at the assembly, the young woman couldn't help but sigh. Although slightly interested in Kazami Ueda, the girl figured it'd be best not to get involved with her, at least not now. Besides, she had already joined a club, the reading and literature club in fact, but maybe keeping an eye out for her would be best.

In her minds eye, Celeste would enter the large structure made of dark stone, where many of different backgrounds and intentions would cross paths. The young noble kept herself cloaked amongst their ranks, praying to Dia that she would get through the day unscathed. She would be meeting scholars before night falls, to hopefully find lost scriptures on the goddess herself from Celeste's birth land, hoping that they might help shed some light on her situation.

Keeping to herself and hoping not to bump into anyone, Erin wanted to get through classes as quickly as possible, otherwise she'd probably be bored out of her mind, and once classes were over she would make sure to make her way to the club room as soon as possible. Later with the club room in sight, the girl perked up, and sighed as it took a bit to, well, find it. Making her way inside she took a moment to check out those who may habe gotten there before her.

"Sweetie, I think you should see a doctor"

"I think a psychologist would be better"

"You're not yourself, Miyako. Is this because of the divorce?"

"Miyako, you stop this right now! You're delusional!"

"They're just cards!"

"You're not a kid anymore"

"I don't have a daughter who's insane"

"Miyako"

"Miyako"

"MIYAKO!"

The black haired girl named Miyako suddenly found herself staring at her wooden desk, her red contacted eyes wide with fear and anxiety. She didn't realized she spaced out for God knows how long. Ever since the incident where both of her parents picked her up from school, she's been not herself.

"I've only spent a short time with them and yet.." She tried to calm herself down and took deep breaths while wiping her tear stained cheeks. She cannot let Satoshi know. She just can't. Satoshi would hate her or worse, leave her. She cannot have that! Satoshi is the only one she had left. She cannot lose him.

Miyako packed up her stuff before noticing the stacks of cards hidden under her desk. Ever since she got back, she barely touched her deck. Was all of it real? she mentally asked Or all of it just a lie?

Flashbacks of her time with her parents came flashing again but Miyako quickly willed the memories away. This is not the time for such problems. I have far more important matters to think about!

Do you? a voice inside her head made her stop from heading out of the classroom.

There it was again. The voice that she kept on hearing ever since the incident. It was the voice of doubt. Or was it the voice of the Red Queen? Miyako doesn't know and she doesn't want to find out. She doesn't have time for all of this!

"Satoshi" she called out to her cousin "Any news while I was gone?"

She cannot let the incident get in her head. She is Miyako Matsuoka, also known as Monstre Charmant, Princess and future Queen of Saubre!

She. Is. Not. Insane. And she's going to prove her parents who she really is when she captures the Red Queen.

Satori had gone back and forth over it every which way, but the assembly from before...he hadn't wanted to go, really. Not that he had had any particular choice in the matter; it was a class function, after all, and he had been forced to go. What choice did he have? Still. Despite the entire mess that had gone on, he had managed to sneak into a single club, the only one that had caught his attention: Robotics. Satori loved machines and toys and whatnot, after all. Perhaps pursuing an interest in what made them work would make his father happy! It was an interesting enough topic, so Satori had no problem signing his Tuesday afternoons off to meet up with the group, at least for now.

That woman was no accident. He was absolutely sure of it. Masamune mused quietly to himself as he sat quietly at his work bench. The 'Empress of Darkness', she had called herself. Seeking a 'Gathering of the Lost Ones'? That sounded fishy as all get-out. Luckily, he could not be swayed by her dark siren's song; he was not lost himself. His goal, his very existence, had been laid out by Fate herself, and he would not stray from her decree in order to be bewitched by the call of darkness. However...Masamune could not deny the fact that the information contained within those meetings would be extremely valuable, both for himself...and any potential buyers. Though he had focused on that announcement, he had still found time to join the Tinkerers for a meeting every so often. Perhaps their methods could be used to upgrade his weaponry somehow. Any advantage over the enemy...

There were two times when Satori found himself approached for his counterpart's 'work' the most often: One was during lunch period, which had been unusually quiet for him ever since he graduated junior high. Perhaps the high schoolers had not heard of his title yet? But that was impossible, the one who gave him this title had been from the high school, right? It baffled him to no end. The other time was after school. As usual, Satori was quick out of the classroom and outside, waiting quietly as the other students passed him. In the back of his mind, a little voice told him that perhaps this was why he had few friends; being so quick to leave school, waiting for others to come to him...it was all a little standoffish. Satori sighed. But that was who he was, wasn't he? Wasn't he...?

It was about time for him to get back to work. Exiting the workshop, Masamune loitered around the front of the building, watching the various citizens stream out of the domicile. He wondered why he came here every day. He was learning tricks and tactics, yes, but lately his REAL mission-the mercenary work-had come up surprisingly empty. The work had gone a bit dry since his last vacation. He could only hope his luck would change today. If not...perhaps he ought to chase down the 'Empress of Darkness', if he could. No doubt her little Gathering would provide some useful information, if not for his own sake.

Satori folded his arms, leaning against the tree he usually chose to loiter around, his assault rifle on his back, his pistol in his right hand. He casually raised his pistol, watching the sky lazily as a flock of birds flew overhead. He pretended to shoot, obviously growing a little bored. "Boom, headshot," he muttered to himself.

[fieldbox="Kona Omari, red, solid"]

"C'mon now Kona, we won't be separated that long. I'll see you every month, it'll pass by like a breeze." Her brother's cool blue eyes looked down on her, the difference in their height showing significantly as he spoke calmly to Kona, the same smug grin he always had on his face displayed promeninantly. Kona looked down at her feet, her fist clenched at her side as she spoke to her brother at the train station. She was moments away from leaving the only home she had ever known, and she was fighting back tears.. "Fine, but you better show up, or i'll beat you to a pulp Chu." Her brother laughed, but only because he knew his sister could definitely beat him up if she wanted too. "No need to worry about that, getting beat up by my little sister would only kill my reputation." Kona punched him in the chest, softly, but enough to make him flinch a little in pain. "Idiot, i'm only younger by a minute." It was enough to make Chu laugh, but then he hugged his twin. "Hang in there Kona, i'll come and visit as soon as I can. In the meantime, try not to get caught up in anything dangerous." Kona nodded, as the separated from the hug, their mother's voice interrupting the pair. "Kona! The train is departing soon! Let's go." Kona was caught off guard by her mother as she grabbed Kona by the arm, leading her away towards the train, without so much as a final goodbye from her brother....

As she entered the school she said little, talked to no one. It had been her usual routine. Come in the morning, go to class, talk to no one. Go through classes, listen to her teacher's lessons, say nothing. Go to lunch and find a quiet place to eat alone, then back to classes. When the day was over, go home. She wanted to do nothing to draw attention to herself, simply because she didn't want to be noticed. She didn't need to make new friends, she didn't need to know anyone, she had plenty back at home, where her twin was. She didn't need any new ones. She didn't want any new ones.

However, Kona couldn't help but notice the oddballs in the classes of this school. It made it difficult to restrain her curiosity, perhaps she should find this little "gathering" of oddballs that she had heard about from rumors about the assembly, a place to satisfy her curiosity perhaps? Hearing those rumors and seeing the oddballs, Kona couldn't help but feel a sense of nonstalgia mix with her curiosity. She remembered back when she had seen the very same thing in Chu, back when she was only nine, and that she and her twin had grown apart. He had taken up far more introverted activities and began living in his own fantasy world.

Kona sat bored through her classes, listening to her teacher's lessons and waiting for lunch to roll around. When it rolled around she ate lunch quickly, a homemade lunch box she had prepared the night before, as her mother was at work. After lunch, the rest of the day rolled past quickly, and before she knew it the day was over. Kona rolled her shoulders as she walked out of school, and then stood off to the side of the door, watching someone carefully. Grabbing her phone from her pocket, Kona shot a quick text to her mother, letting her know that she would be staying after school for a bit. She wanted to check out a couple of clubs first, if they were still accepting members that was.

Kona looked up from her phone and spotted one of the "oddballs". A boy, who carried around nerf guns and was now aiming one of those nerf guns at a flock of birds for some reason. Still, he was just one of the many curiosities of the school...[/fieldbox]

Aito Fujimoto

Aito had takan specific precautions to avoid his parents this morning... Ducking out of the house at the crack of dawn, and snagging a few pieces of bread, along with some leftover dango from last night. He had been quite distant like that since that unexpected move, which left all his friends behind.

Before heading to school, he decided to visit the local park like he usually did... Watching the sun rise as he munched on some bread; the dango would be saved for a cold, but, workable lunch, or so was his plan anyways. He didn't exactly have alot of change with him to straight up buy lunch after all, so he often made do with whatever he could scrounge from the previous day's dinner. It would take a good, long while before he would have that sort of luxury again; his parents had certainly spent their fair share getting him here, but yet... Did not even ask him before they made this sudden switch.

For the precious few hours he had before he had to head to school though... And alone in the park as far as he knew, he closed his eyes, briefly assuming the identity of the "Starchild", in an attempt to give himself a brief window of time to cast away his own identities and troubles. Putting a hand in his pocket, he ran one of his fingers across the surface of his blue, crystaline charm he had been carrying with him for a good few weeks now... And with a swift motion, he threw of fhis backpack, and closed his eyes as he quiet muttered something under his breath.

"I cast my light upon this world..." He whispered.

With that, Aito... Who was now the "Starchild" in his drew his pair of bokken... Which he was envisioning as the Starchild's mystic blade began practicing his (or rather, her) swordsmanship... Swinging her blades around with frightening precision as she practiced various stabbing and slashing moves, with a few spin attacks, and other more creative combat techniques she was still working on.

Though, sooner or later... As the sun was a bit higher in the sky now... He had to snap out of his momentary trance, returning his bokken to their resting place underneath the back of his shirt, and slinging his book bag around his shoulder, before he went the rest of the way to school, attending class like he usually did.

Lunch was as uneventful as it usually was; he ate his (cold) dango in relative solitude, before he attended his last few classes for the day... Before he began to walk home, as he usually did, lugging his bookbag along a he did so. However, he slowed his pace ever so slightly to observe an older male, shooting at the seagulls with a nerf gun, and one of the female students, appearing to be observing him too...

Aito wasn't about to get involved with any of what was happening here, but curiousity did seem to distract him, if only for a moment.

[fieldbox="Satoshi, indianred, dashed"]
For a while since returning, there was something off about Miyako, but Satoshi chose not to ask her about it, not yet. But at last, she demanded something of him again, seemingly back to normal.

He was automatically beside her, ruffling through his notepad. "I've watched out for the recruit. I've confirmed that she's the one from the Karate club who beat up a senior."

He adjusted the strap of his bag over his shoulders as he handed her the notes. "When she's not following us, she's being tailed by a very talkative girl from the same club. The club itself promotes peace, however. They recite an honorable creed," Satoshi was very impressed by the dojo kun. He didn't expect the non-violent beliefs from a group of warrior humans.

---Hopeful New Beginnings---

Throughout the day, Aria was enveloped in a fairly depressing mood. The other day she had collapsed at school, which had caused quite the uproar in and of itself, but even worse was that she had to stay home the next day to recover. It did give her the chance to see her doting father for the first time in a while, but her mother was held up because of a gig she had to make and the daughter just didn't like the idea of worrying her parents all the time. Even though she had recovered enough to go back to school today, she was still too tired to even try in her gym class, and her friend Nariko seemed to be really preoccupied that day so they couldn't even hang out. This damper in her mood even brought down her ability to get into character as Skadiya, not that there was anyone to talk to as her in the first place. When the bell rang for the end of classes she was just about ready to slump home and not do anything, but as she was putting her books away in her school bag a memory flashed in her mind.

It was sunset and she was sitting in a bed in the school's infirmary. She had recently woken up from having collapsed in the school's courtyard, and shortly after waking up she had been greeted by an upperclassman. As the spacy girl was leaving her alone in the infirmary, she backtracked and told Aria that she should check out the Reading and Literature Club which she was from. The albino girl remembered thinking that if she joined this club she might be able to make some friends that enjoyed the same books as her, and envisioned spending time with such friends discussing their favorite mythological figures or old folk tales.

She stood up from her desk, a new sense of determination filling her up. She grabbed her bag and parasol and marched straight out of the classroom, heading for the wing of the school where the literary clubrooms were located. When she arrived, she peered inside the room from outside. When she didn't see the girl she had met the other day she started to get a little nervous. Instead there was one girl who looked the same age as herself, and a different upperclassman girl that seemed to be rather irritated for some reason that Aria felt she probably didn't want to know the reason for.

Akemi sluggishly moved her feet into her apartment unit, closing the door behind her and locking it. She then dropped a plastic bag onto the kotatsu table in the center of the room and began to rummage through it as she sat down. Pulling out a small box dinner, she then grabbed the nearby console controller and powered up the device in front of her. This is how her evenings were. Alone with with a convenience store meal and video games. She was a student so you would think she would be out with friends or doing homework. Not at all. These weren't things Akemi ever really got to do, or wanted to do. She was bad in academics, so she rarely bothered to do homework.

As she ate, she casually tossed off her uniform. Looking around her for a nearby shirt, Akemi groaned as she realised she had to get up and go look for one. Akemi drug her feet to her bedroom which was wide open. Akemi sighed and began to dig through her closet. In her room was a simple bed, a large desk, shelves upon shelves of anime/manga merchandise and atop her desk was a decked out PC for her MMO and RPG habit. She constantly visited forums and such and always bought the newest merch from what she called her command station. Her newest obsession was...odd. Akemi looked up at the mirror before she put on the first tshirt she had found. She had no feminine physique, the only thing that told people that she was a female was her school uniform. She avoided PE like the plague because of this. Akemi sighed and slipped on the tshirt, dragging her feet back to her living space to continue her meal and game, occasionally looking at her cellphone for an email from her new potential friend.

As soon as the last period class was dismissed, Meiko hurriedly put away all her things. She hadn't seen much of Satoshi and Miyako at all. Miyako had disappeared for a while and Satoshi seemed to be avoiding her. She couldn't tell what was going on and simply let it be at first, being quite occupied with the Karate club and homework at the moment.

"Murakami-kun, have you seen Satoshi-kun and Miyako-chan?" she said to the student council president.

"You and Satoshi-kun always check each other from me." Murakami continued erasing the writings on the blackboard. "I don't keep an eye on everyone, you know."

"You keep an eye on him, though." Meiko grinned. "Wait, he asks about me?"

"His grades are not exactly something to ignore. Specially in English, sheesh." Muttering to himself, Murakami seemed to have suddenly gotten annoyed. Meiko found it funny that he was especially sensitive of the attention he gives to Satoshi and Miyako. He went on, "he does ask about you. I mean, he asked about...well."

"What?" she demanded.

"The well. You know? In first year? Anyway, gotta go! Duty calls..." Murakami looked everywhere except at Meiko and hastily slipped out of the classroom.

Meiko wasn't quite sure what that meant, but thought against asking further. She still had club activities to attend and cram school admissions to look up, so she picked up her bag and hurried out.

In the Reading & Literature clubroom, there was a second-year student sitting at a table with her arms crossed as she waited for current members of the club to show up. When Erin arrived, the girl smiled at her and welcomed her, thanking her for joining the club, before returning to her position of impatience. After a few minutes of silence, the girl reached the limit of her patience, and was thoroughly ticked off. She then stood up from her seat with a start and excused herself. She didn't make it very far, however, for when she reached the clubroom door she all but ran into another first-year girl like Erin who had been standing just outside. Regaining her balance, then composure, she looked the girl up and down, jabbed a suspicion that the girl wanted to join, and when Aria herself struggled to refute the accurate accusation she practically shoved the albino into the clubroom, a smile now on her own face as she announced loudly to the room occupied by only themselves and Erin that she had snagged another new member.

Meanwhile, out in the school's main courtyard, students were congregating all over the place as clubs continued their arduous campaigning to the new students. There were, however, cases of students who weren't exactly looking to get along. There was one such group of 3 third-year students who seemed annoyed by all the hustle and bustle. As they carved their way through the courtyard, one of this crew bumped into one of the underclassmen, and this is where all hell broke loose.

"Oi, why don'tcha watch where the hell yer standing, eh? I'm walking here!" As the crew now all had their sights on the boy, they began leering at him maliciously. "Yeah, hey! You tryin' to pick a fight, brat?!" "Hey Boss, this kid ain't even part of the high school class; he's just a little junior high student!"

As the leader of the group who had bumped into Aito heard this, he observed the underclassman's uniform himself and snickered even more. "So he is! What, you think you're hot shit and can do whatever you want wherever you want? Well yer about to have a rude awakening! There's already too much bullshit going on around here without little kids getting in the way, so get outta here before you regret it!" As he said this, the group leader raised his fist and swung it towards Aito's face, stopping just before punching him on the face.

Back on the third floor of the school building, the student council president Murakami Sho could be seen rushing out of his classroom only to be met by a girl who had been waiting for him just outside the door. The girl was, in fact, his vice president Mikami Manami. She waited for him without much in the way of expression on her face, but what little was present was by no means negative, though it also wasn't anything that was obvious to the eye of the oblivious and dense, which was the exact type of person she was dealing with.

As Meiko left their classroom herself and headed off there was someone lying in wait for her as well, though less obviously. While the girl made her way down the hallway, the one that waited for her began sneaking behind her, but after only a short moment she began running full speed at her from behind before pouncing on her. The pursuer wrapped her arms around Meiko's shoulders, joyfully shouting "MEIMEI GET!" as she squeezed onto her prey in a full glomp. Hitomi had done her very best to hold back and wait until Meiko left her classroom so she could surprise her idol and best friend, but by the time she finally had the girl's very small reservoir of patience had run dry, and she couldn't help but to charge straight at her in excitement.

Erin only nodded as the second year thanked her and welcomed her to the club, giving a small greeting to the upperclassman upon seeing her.

She decided that not saying much was probably for the best, since the older girl seemed to be impatient and not really in the mood for chitchat. Erin wasn't really bothered by this and simply rocked on her heels as she waited until the second year girl suddenly stood and excused herself. Erin watched as she would make her exit-or attempt to-with a raised brow, having been a little startled at the others sudden movements. Upon seeing Aria however, it took a moment for the first year to recognize that she's at least seen a glimpse of her around. How couldn't she when the other girl's snow white hair and fair complexion made her stand out a bit?

"So, you're joining too?" she asked, albeit slightly awkwardly.

Celeste sized the other up, body tense and eyes sharp but curious as to what she wanted here among the group of scholars. Surely she had seen the other around and could tell she was strong from looks alone, but other than that she knew not her motives or if she had a side. Perhaps she was like Celeste herself? Alone, and doing what she saw fit. She knew she would have to keep a careful eye on her though, to determine whether she be friend or foe.

Erin couldn't help but squint at Aria, wanting to say something else, but not quite sure what or how to word it.

The feisty black haired female named Miyako kept on walking as Satoshi began informing her about what she had missed. To others, it might seem a bit funny to see a small girl acting like a boss with a tall man acting like her secretary but Miyako didn't care. Why would she anyway? She didn't want to waste her time thinking about other people. She had a mission thy needs to focus on thus, that's exactly what she'll do.

"So in conclusion, she's no help at all?" Miyako blurted quite bluntly, clearly agitated after reading Satoshi's notes. The black haired female knew it was a bit ouf of character for her to be so cranky but she couldn't help it! She's pressed for time! She needed to prove to her parents that she's not crazy and that needs to be done as soon as possible.

Letting out a frustrated growl, Miyako then crossed her arms and stomped her foot. "Any ideas who the girl tailing her could be? Who she works for as well as if she's like us?"

Miyako was growing even more impatient with every second. She doesn't have time for this! Unable to wait for Satoshi to answer, she clicked her tongue and turned around before walking back to where they came from "Forget it. I don't have time to dillydally. I'll find out about that stalker myself. Time is of the essence and I cannor waste any second of it."

All this hustle and bustle, but no work approached him. How...frustrating. With a shrug of his shoulders, Satori was on the verge of giving up. Perhaps it would be better to investigate that 'Gathering of the Lost Ones' after all. He lifted himself off the tree he was leaning against and was about to head inside when a bunch of intimidating-sounding voices caught his attention. A small space was being cleared as a triad of bullies got in the face of a smaller student, probably a junior-high kid. Looked like a fight was about to break out...or someone was going to wet their pants. Typical behavior of the upperclassmen, from what he could tell. He would have ignored it had an idea not popped directly into his head.

What a disgusting lack of class some of these ruffians had. Picking on someone younger for little reason beyond merely existing in the same space as them. Masamune despised fools like this. Everyone deserved their place...unless, of course, he was contracted to deal with them. But this was not the case. The boy looked defenseless, too, beyond a small blade...it was pitiful. Masamune eyed the situation for a moment longer, internally debating, before he nodded to himself, a stern expression etched on his face. This was going to get ugly before it got better, he was sure. But perhaps a free job, seen in front of everyone, might just be the perfect stimulator for jobs to start pouring in. Fate knew he needed the money...

With his trusty rifle in one hand, his pistol in the other, Masamune marched down into the courtyard, pushing his way through a small crowd of people that had gathered, seemingly to watch a massacre take place. Giving the child a nod, Masamune stood in front of his protectee, defiantly casting a glare in the ruffians' direction as he blocked the way to a beatdown. "So. You like instigating fights..." Masamune smirked, lifting his pistol to point directly at the leader, right between the eyes. "Go on. You want a battle? I'll give you one. But don't cry to me when your friends have to drag your flaming body out of here." Masamune's face was one of confidence, perhaps not particularly heroic-looking, but more than intimidating enough to bring pause to all but the most hardened foes. "Safeties off." The simple click of his safeties could be heard as he prepared for battle. It was as close to a transformation as Masamune had.

To the crowd and the bullies, what had happened was perhaps downright laughable. A student just out of junior high had marched right into the thick of the conflict and pointed a NERF gun right at them. It wasn't even loaded! And yet, the boy looked like he had just checkmated all three of them. A low chant of "Fight, fight fight" had begun to build amongst the gathered students as Satori confidently stood his ground, for all the world looking like he believed he was going to wipe the floor with all three.

Kona's attention on the boy was changed quickly, as she heard a small scuffle break out. Three upper-classmen who were staring down a junior high student. The poor kid didn't look prepared for a fight, but the upper-classmen were looking to pick one with the smaller junior high student. It was about to get tense. Kona planned to step in, if no one else did of course.

Unfortunately, the person who stepped in, what is what she wanted to happen, was not the person who would have likely been best for facing down the three upper-classmen. It was the NERF gun kid, the same one who had been pointing the gun at a flock of birds. The boy was facing down the three bullies with nothing but a... as Kona looked closer, she realized it was nothing but an unloaded NERF gun. A show of courage, or a just brash idiocy? She had seen the harmless air weapon before, and perhaps it would have been a slight annoyance if the upper-classmen got hit in the eye, but other then that, the kid was just going to get beat up along with the junior high student. Yet, the kid still looked confident, as if he had already won the fight with the three kids. Did he think he would scare the highschoolers? At worst he was just going to laugh them to death with his guns.

Kona couldn't let it happen, the two kids would just become mincemeat if they tried to fight back. It would be like lambs being preyed on by wolves. Kona pushed through the crowd of onlookers, into the circle, and through to the center of the fight, where she pushed the boy's NERF gun away and stood in between the two boys and the bullies. She turned to face the two bullies and glared at them from her sideways position. She was smaller then the three of them, but she doubted that they had any real experience fighting with an opponent who was ready and prepared to fight back. It might have been best if the two behind her ran away, that way she wouldn't have to worry about them if a fight broke out. Hopefully that wouldn't happen though. She turned and faced the bullies, and held her arm out so that the boy behind her would have a little more trouble trying to bring the NERF gun into play. She stood and glared defiantly at the three bullies. Her tone was furious. "What do you think you're doing?"[/fieldbox]

Aito Fujimoto

Aito found himself backed into a wall, well... Figuratively speaking anyways; he had been lost in thought, and a little too careless to notice the upperclassmen before it was too late. Before he knew it, he found himself flinching as the upperclassman quite nearly punched him in the face. His hands palmed the hilts of both of his trusty wooden blades quietly, as he debated with himself whether or not he should try to defend himself, or run off.

As at least two others began to approach the scene, starting with a boy who couldn't be more than a couple years older than him, followed by a brave girl, who was perhaps a year older than that.

Normally, he would have decided it was better to keep his "other self" a secret than to risk a confrontation with these upperclassmen, even if his gut instinct told him to stand his ground and fight, regardless of the odds.

However, seeing that two others were risking themselves in this fray as well, he realized that he couldn't simply run away in the face of all of this, and so... He took a deep breath and decided to open the floodgates, and bring out the Starchild.

"I cast my light... Upon this world!" He cried out, his voice echoing throughout the area.

...

And then, Aito was no more, replaced for the time being, by the Starchild.

To her eyes, the troublesome upperclassmen were not merely students, but servants of the dark. Brandishing her twin blades, she smiled in an almost arrogant manner, she met the gaze of who she perceived to be the leader of the trio that she faced, staring him down... Almost like she was challenging him.

"I'll give you one chance to run back to the shadows where you came..." She said, poising herself as she prepared for battle.

"Or you'll face the wrath of my blades!" She shouted.

For the moment, she was too focused on the bullies to notice the "Masamune" inches away from her... Perhaps it was part of Aito's method of detatching himself from his own environment, so he wouldn't have to be so afraid anymore.

...

Back in the realm of reality, all the upperclassmen would really see was Aito suddenly gaining a tremendous amount of courage, brandishing two blunt, wooden blades and threatening them.

However, despite his weapons being nothing more than fancy wooden poles, his stance he took on seemed to indicate he was well prepared for a physical confrontation... Or at least, he believed he was. It was almost like he had popped straight out of some medieval movie... (Though honestly, in his mind it was more like a Magical Girl type thing)

Familiar blue hair suddenly caught Satoshi's attention. It was the girl who always hung about their new disciple. She turned out to be a senior as well. Satoshi tugged Miyako's sleeve and quickly pointed to the other girls.

Blue Hair seemed to be grappling their new disciple and at first, Satoshi thought they should be worried. But Meiko turned around and was laughing as she playfully squeezed Blue Hair's face. Satoshi inclined his head, unable to process what they were up to, but immediately realized how exposed he and Miyako was, being just down the hall.

He took Miyako by the shoulders, ignoring any possible angry protests and slid with her into the nearest classroom. The students inside were startled to see them but Satoshi ignored this and held up a finger to his lips, discreetly pointing to Blue Hair and Meiko in case Miyako hadn't seen them.

From the doorway, he checked if their targets noticed, but it seemed that they were very much distracted by something happening at the grounds, based on their shocked faces before they both came closer to the window.

"Someone get a teacher! Or the god conbi!" A third year's voice rang from outside.

"God conbi?" Satoshi had no idea about the nickname the student council president and vice president had.

The commotion seems to have gotten people's attention so Satoshi stepped out into the hall again, hearing some students.

"The Kuroshio gang's at it again!"

"They've been real grumpy lately..."

Satoshi glanced at Miyako and then back to where Meiko and Blue Hair was and they seem to be having an argument. He signaled that they could come closer to the window and see the other girls at the same time.

---Introductions Crumble Apart---

After a short moment of peering into the classroom, Aria saw the upperclassman suddenly stand up and head for the door where she was standing. Heh?! Caught? Did she notice me? Oh~ what do I do?! Before she could produce an answer through the panic, the upperclassman had already reached the door, and nearly walked right into her! The both of them jumped back in surprise, and the upperclassman recovered faster than her. The upperclassman vocalized her suspicion that the albino wanted to join the club, and Aria was still spewing fumes and couldn't spit out a straight answer; "... U-uh, you see... that is... I, um-" As she tried to force an answer out her arms flailed about ransomly, but before she could even finish the upperclassman had already slipped behind her and was carting her into the classroom. The next thing Aria knew, she was facing the other first-year and being announced as the newest member. It was all really cumbersome for her to handle.

When her fellow classman greeted her with a question of confirmation, it seemed to anchor the flustered girl back to the world of clarity. She cleared her throat, her face still flushed, and replied without making eye contact due to nerves. "Ah-I was advised to come here by an upperclassman... but she's not here now so... maybe I should-" it was at that moment that someone enterred the room and greeted the upperclassman, cutting Aria off. Upon glancing behind her, Aria discovered that the one who entered was the girl that had rescued her two days previous, Satou Shiori, and she froze in both relief and embarrassment.

Yelling. Stuff being thrown. Someone hiding. It was nothing new in Kazami's life as she hid in the closet, trying to drown out the noise. She was used to it, so why did it still upset her? She knew that if they were yelling at her then she would obviously be upset but when they were arguing with each other...why did that hurt? She sniffled and rubbed at her eye before sighing and pressing her ear against the closet door. It had quieted down somewhat. "The Empress of the Night shouldn't have to bear the burden of mortal caregivers," she sighed as she slid the closet door open and went to her bed, falling face first into a pillow.

In her mind's eye, Nyx was surrounded by light. Harsh, white light. She squinted within the dull void as she tried to find solace in something, anything. But there was absolutely nothing that could possibly reach her. ...Or...was there? She did have a follower now, someone to communicate with so that she could get her rightful place as goddess once more. But would this follower heed her call? "I...should contact them," she mumbled in the void, her voice echoing all around her. Quickly she went to an ancient tablet that would send her messages whenever it suited her and began to type. "Queen of the Underworld, how do you fare? I do apologize for not getting to you sooner, but my parents-" She stopped before quickly erasing that part. "I've been busy. But we have much to do! Would it be possible for you to meet me at a bazaar so we can discuss the Gathering of the Lost Ones? It's called Nisshinyama, it's a ramen shop. I can treat you myself if you want! As a goddess it is my duty to see that any followers I have will be treated well. Meet me there? Nyx."

Kazami didn't hesitate as she finished typing out the message on her phone and sent it. Without much thought, she put on her black jacket that had been carelessly tossed aside and grabbed her bag, wincing as she heard the arguing getting louder. She slowly made her way to the door, her fingers trembling as she reached for the doorknob before slowly opening it? Peeking out to see that her parents were not out in the hallway, she scurried over to the stairs, cringing as the yelling worsened when she reached the bottom of the stairs. The girl quickly made her way to the door, sighing in relief as she slipped on her shoes that they weren't anywhere near the door before going out. Once out of the house, she instantly felt lighter. "Much better!" she sighed as she spread her arms out like wings and began to run, her bag flapping against her chest as she ran.

[fieldbox="Akemi, #e34234, dashed, 10"]
Akemi had been laying her head on the kotatsu table, staring intently at her cellphone. She sighed and almost began to doze off, as it was almost reaching her regular hour of sleep. However, sleep was clearly not going to happen. Her phone began to buzz and chime a tone from a popular anime at the time. She quickly jerked her head up and to see that she had recieved a message!

"My companion!" The Queen of the Underworld exclaimed, as she quickly flipped her phone open. "Efialtis..! She didn't forget me!" The girl's face lit up as she pulled the medium-sized magenta plushie over to her side. Akemi then silenced herself to gather her composure and took a deep breath. "Isn't this fantastic, Efialtis? We've obtained a fellow ruler of darkness. As the Queen of the Underworld. Knowing the Goddess of night, darkness and dreams is truly beneficial to us. Don't you think so too?" Akemi stared at the plushie for a moment and her confident smile fell. "You're still ignoring me? Fine... I didn't want your opinion anyways..."

Looking over the text, Akemi's smile slowly returned. "She wants to discuss business at dinner. Doesn't that sound nice, Efialtis?" Akemi looked over at the plushie again. In her mind's eye, the toy began to float. "You've already eaten, Mistress." The phantom known as Efialtis said in a deadpan tone. "Why have you been ignoring me?" Efialtis sighed. "Your magick is weakening. I'm just hoping this self-proclaimed Nyx can help you." Akemi pouted. "Self-proclaimed?! I could sense her aura!" "As did I, but claiming to be a Goddess is a big claim. Especially in this non-magical realm. If she's a Goddess, she would require quite a large reserve of magick." Akemi shifted her eyes away, "Well... I believe in her." Efialtis glared, "You believe in her because she gave you a second of her time!" Efialtis quickly snatched Akemi's sketchbook from her bag. "Do you even have any idea where your mental state is?!"The phantom exclaimed flipping through the pages. "Efi---" Akemi was cut-off as she was shown a specific page. "Do you remember this? You blocked it from your memory, but you must have wanted to remember or you wouldn't have sealed it ink."

Akemi's face sunk, as she realized her current reality. The room was dark, the plush was still lying on the floor, her sketchbook was lying open on the table. Some pages had occasional dark crimson splotches. Akemi's eyes shifted over to her phone as she sluggishly responded...

"Yes..That would be lovely. I haven't ate yet, so business and dinner sounds like a good plan. I will see you then. ~V" Akemi sent the message and went to change her clothes. She emerged from her bedroom donning a simple black dress and maryjanes, wrapping red ribbons around her wrists and arms, she carefully picked up her plush toy and walked towards the door stopping for a moment to glance into the kitchen area. "...I don't need it." Shaking her head, she continued to walk out the door, locking it behind her.

"Let's go."
