Romance is a big plus for me, but I can be pretty adaptable
Tell me, have you ever heard of the term "Chuunibyou", or "Eighth Grader Syndrome"? For those not familiar with this Japanese term, you might understand better by hearing it's more common English synonym: "Delusions of Grandeur". This is a sad affliction that typically affects young adolescents, its most drastic form making those who contract it believe they have special powers or are somehow connected to and surrounded by the occult. For those such patients, the period in which they retain these delusions later develops into an embarrassing period of shame that forever haunts their memories, despite how much fun they seem to have at the time. In most cases this behavior subsides by the beginning of one's first year in high school, but there are some cases where patients retain their status as chuunibyou patient for the remainder of their school days and sometimes longer.

About
This is an RP loosely based on the anime "Chuunibyou Demo Koi ga Shitai". I say loosely because it recycles similar themes and setting, but with all original characters. No canon characters will show up in this RP, and only characters approved in the CS thread for this RP should be posting in the IC. If someone is interested in joining they can post here in the OOC about their interest as well as infer as to where the plot is moving, and then fill out a CS, which should only be posted in the CS thread (both linked above). The rules for this RP are as follows:
  1. [BCOLOR=#800000]First and foremost you need to adhere to the standard rules of RPing: no powerplaying or meta-gaming, but mild godmoding or auto-hitting is allowed as long as it's to the point of, say, occasionally having a perfect counter, flicking someone too close on the forehead, or sneaking up behind someone who is distracted and tickling them or the likes, but anything beyond is forbidden. That said, many acts of light auto-hitting like the tickling will still need to be discussed between players in the OOC for permission.[/BCOLOR]
  2. [BCOLOR=#ffff00]The next thing I can't stress enough is that characters don't necessarily need to get along, but players should still show respect to each other in the OOC and retain a positive environment here.[/BCOLOR]
  3. [BCOLOR=#000080]The IC will be conducted in an orderly manner with an episodic style where character posting order will be determined prior to each episode. Depending on how things turn out it may be possible that some posting orders will be reused, but that is to be determined. Players may also use a posting profile to spruce up their posts should they wish to use one.[/BCOLOR]
  4. [BCOLOR=#ff0000]Players are not aloud to post in the IC unless their character has been approved and it is that character's turn to post.[/BCOLOR]
  5. [BCOLOR=#ffcc99]Even though this is based on the Chuunibyou series, one does not need to have actually seen or read the series to join as long as they can match the setting, though it is nonetheless highly recommended as the series is great![/BCOLOR]
  6. [BCOLOR=#333333]Like in the series there will be delusion battles on occasion. Make sure that all actions performed in the realm of fantasy during such events are justifiable within the constructs of the realm of reality.[/BCOLOR]
  7. [BCOLOR=#008000]Despite this RP focusing around the concept of chuunibyou, it does not mean you can't have a character like Kumin or Isshiki from the anime: one who's either completely oblivious to chuunibyou or doesn't quite have it but is mildly interested in the idea.[/BCOLOR]
  8. [BCOLOR=#999999]On the subject of characters: there will be a max cap of 2 per player to begin with. This being said, both characters do not need to be submitted or enter the fray at the beginning. In other words, you could go ahead and submit a CS for 2 different characters if you want, and have one enter in later on in the RP, and you could also submit just one in the beginning and then submit another one at a later date when inspiration strikes you. This goes without saying that you can also submit 2 characters and start RPing as both right from the get-go. If the latter is done then, when character posting order is chosen, you may have influence over which of your two characters you'd like to post as before the other, but they will still adhere to the randomly generated order and they can not switch places after the order has been set. One more thing to note is that although the initial character limit is 2 per person, if,later on down the road, anyone feels that they want to have another character they are free to submit a third as long as they can still keep up.[/BCOLOR]
  9. [BCOLOR=#003366]Bear in mind while you are creating your character that since this RP is anime-based all FCs need be in anime style and of decent quality; whether they are official anime/manga art, anime-style game art, or fan art/commission. Sources won't need to be cited, however, so no need to stress there.[/BCOLOR]
  10. [BCOLOR=#ff9900]Another point to note is that, similar to the original series, there will be a dedicated junior high school connected to the high school where most of the setting takes place, so the possibility for making a junior high character like Dekomori is open as long as they have relevance to the setting. Despite this, characters at the high school are not barred from having attended a different junior high school.[/BCOLOR]
  11. [BCOLOR=#800080]Touching up from earlier on character limitations; family members and random NPCs can be used independent of your character limit, as long as they are not used as frequently as a PC would be; the occasional one liner from a random person or RPing as a character's family when around them at home or whatever is acceptable.[/BCOLOR]
  12. [BCOLOR=#ff99cc]Oh, romance? Sure, there can be an element of romance to this RP between characters; just remember that if one or both parties are patients of chuunibyou it will be a long and bumpy road before they can officially be called an item as those suffering from the affliction typically aren't well versed in such deep, complex relationships and will frequently cause problems or misunderstandings. Granted some characters can already be in a relationship upon RP launch, as long as it is specified by both parties in the CS and at least briefly explained in their bio. if players would like to discuss various inner plots such as this among each other they may do so in the OOC.[/BCOLOR]
  13. [BCOLOR=#ffffff]Lastly, this RP will be taking place in modern Japan (specifically: the Minato ward in Tokyo, a.k.a. Minato City), and as such it will be following typical Japanese customs. High school and junior high school each have only 3 years, and classes will begin in April; typically when cherry blossoms begin or are close to blooming. Also, there are no dedicated school buses to pick up students; they will commute to school by either train, public bus, and/or foot depending on the distance between their home and the school. Classes will take place Monday-Saturday, with Saturday being a half day. Also don't forget that all students have foot lockers at the entrance of the school where they switch between their indoor and outdoor shoes which are provided by the student's family. Lastly on the subject is that while there is a cafeteria within the school where students can buy lunches via purchasing vouchers at a machine and then bringing them to the service area, a large percentage of students typically tend to have packed lunches (bentou! XD) brought from home often consisting of leftovers or a small, balanced lunch prepared by family alongside white rice, so make sure to keep these factors in mind.[/BCOLOR]
This is the IC for this RP. AS the GM I take control of major NPCs, such as school staff, but minor ones like random students or family members of one's own approved characters are free game. For those who skipped over the rules due to familiarity you may want to review rules 1 and 3 as they have been touched up. As this is the header thread it will not contain much extra information other than current characters and posting order, which will also be listed at the starting point of each episode which will also be posted by me. Do note that the posting information at the episode starters will be episode specific, while the same information in this post will be up to date to the current episode. I will also include information on the various notable staff members within the school in this head post.

NPC Student(s)

Hitomi Ikeda

---Hitomi Ikeda---
5524-356810373.jpg
Age: 18
Class: 3-B
Club: Karate Club
Personality: Hitomi is normally a very high energy person with a deep interest in anything mysterious or strange. She fantasizes about being an amazing detective or sleuth, and is fairly skilled at staying well informed about the happenings around school and collecting gossip from other students, but despite all this her extreme lack of patience and the fact that she's also slightly airheaded at times makes it difficult for her to actually stake out information herself. All in all she's relatively sweet and kindhearted to most, but can also be fairly mischievous at times if you get on her bad side.
Trivia: She actually originally wanted to start a Mystery Club, but due to being unable to gather interested members the club flopped and she ended up joining the Karate Club since the school enforces that all students join a club and her parents wanted her to learn to protect herself. Surprisingly enough she is one of the few members who is able to keep up with the club president.

"Meimei GET!"

Though she was taller than Hitomi, the sheer force of her friend's hug knocked out the air from her lungs, along with any response she would have said.

Hitomi used to be a little shyer than herself when they were kids and it was honestly refreshing and nostalgic to be tackled. Meiko couldn't help but laugh as she turned to hug back and affectionately squeezed Hitomi's cheeks.

"We have some dojo cleaning to do, by the way." Meiko said as she checked her watch. "Maybe if we have time, you can come with me to the grocery?"

Before Hitomi could respond-and she was trying her best while still being squeezed in the cheeks by Meiko- some students started crowding at the windows.

The girls looked at each other and came closer to the windows. They immediately recognized the three big students who seemed to be terrorizing the smaller underclassmen.

Some students gasped when Hitomi named the Kuroshio gang aloud. But Meiko was more concerned about the kids facing them. "Is that...a toy gun?"

"Someone get a teacher! Or the god conbi!" cried someone not so far from Meiko and Hitomi.

"The Kuroshio gang's at it again!" Another senior hollered from the other window.

Hitomi was about to budge but Meiko instinctively held her back. The times have certainly changed. "Wait, no! We can't!"

Meiko knew that even Hitomi understood how bad it would be for them if they're caught doing anything remotely violent. Graduating students with a sports event upcoming, they could get removed from both even if they wouldn't throw the first punch.

Still, Hitomi looked back at her in disbelief.

"I know, ugh, I freaking know!" Meiko threw her arms, alerting nearby seniors-specially those who knew perfectly well who she was. "But if we're stepping in, we need a plan and it must NOT involve either of us raising a fist."

Hitomi seemed confused so Meiko cut her off again, with her voice lowered. "I haven't taught you this, but we can use a certain bias. If we come in and look like victims, we can probably keep the kids from getting hurt and not get in trouble." Meiko said quickly. "Or we could get Kami-konbi to fight this fight."

Seeing Hitomi's expression, Meiko shook her head and added firmly, "This isn't our fight but we can help."

"Hey Yuu." Satou Shiori had just made her way into the clubroom for the Reading & Literature Club, nose unsurprisingly in a book. As she lazily greeted the other upperclassman in the room, the latter immediately jumped on her case. “Aaaaah! Shio-chan, I thought I told you to come straight to the clubroom as soon as class was out so we could properly greet the new member! Where were you?! And walking with your nose in a book again?! I thought I told you that wasn’t safe! You’ll run into someone again!” As her club mate ranted at her, the bespectacled girl averted her eyes, clearly unwilling to listen. After being obviously ignored, the girl apparently called Yuu sighed with frustration, complaining further; “I mean seriously, did you even do what I told you the other day, or did you just spend that whole time reading as well? I’ve already recruited new members, but have you even mentioned our club to an underclassman?”

It was then that Shiori looked up at her interrogator. “That’s not true; I did recruit someone.” This more earnest response surprised Yuu, but she still appeared doubtful. Shiori then raised her hand to point right at Aria Sakai, her expression just as lax as it had been since she first arrived. “A few things happened the other day and I told her to come by if she was interested. Oh yeah… nice to see you again.” Yuu then snapped at Aria herself; “Is that true?!” The albino girl was a bit taken aback at first, confirming with a bow while making sure to properly address Yuu as president, but shortly after recovering and adding that she wasn’t sure at first but has decided to join after all.

Meanwhile, on the 3rd floor of the school building near the 3rd year classrooms, Hitomi was experiencing a brief moment of bliss. She had just captured her target, who had turned around and returned her affections. As her cheeks were pinched by Meiko, she couldn’t help but smile goofily. When Meiko offered that they go grocery shopping together, the energetic girl was about to joyfully squeal her approval when the other students around them started swarming around the windows. The sudden collective action immediately caught her curiosity, and when she looked back at her idol to find a similar yet differing expression of interest, she forewent her response to make her own way to the windows alongside her. Upon seeing the trio of fellow 3rd years through the crowd gathered around them (well, repeat 3rd years, but still), her mood soured. Ticking her tongue with a grimace on her face, she said with a slight growl hidden under her breath; “Damn Kuroshio Gang, ruining the moment with their usual, boring shtick…”

Apparently her vocally pegging the source of the commotion stirred up the other students around them however, because they started to make a ruckus themselves.
This was all inconsequential to Hitomi, because all she wanted to do now was jump out the window and teach the thugs a lesson. Just as she began to move to do so, however, a firm hand on her shoulder stopped her. The voice that bound her told her that the hand belonged to the same person, but she still turned to Meiko to protest. The taller girl cut her off before she could say anything, but she was clearly distraught as well, though Hitomi understood that it was for a much more selfless reason. For a split second her mental idolization for Meiko took over her thoughts, but she quickly snapped back to reality after hearing Meiko talk about some plan that didn’t involve them fighting. “…a plan that… doesn’t involve us fighting…?” She was visibly confused. She knew their mantra was to not spread violence, but since getting invested in the Karate Club she had always believed that they were being taught to quickly end violent situations that were unavoidable. As she was about to ask for more information, Meiko cut her off with a signal to listen closely as she whispered to her what she meant. Even after hearing this, however, the girl still struggled with the concept.

“Oh my, what a tragic situation this is.” Not that far away, the aforementioned Kami-combi were approaching. Student Council President Murakami Sho and Vice President Mikami Manami had just been upon the staircase when the ruckus made its way to
them, so they turned around to see what was going on. As they gathered the situation, Manami had noticed that the Karate Club elites were nearby and decided to instill some motion. “Sho-kun, such atrocious behavior shouldn’t be tolerated, isn’t that right? We should ask someone to help step in while we get a teacher, wouldn’t you agree?” Sho, who was a little afraid of his vice president (especially when she gets pushy), chuckled nervously. “Yes, of course it is!”

He had also noticed that Meiko was nearby, but he really wanted to avoid talking to her if he could. The only problem was that his fear of Manami had a more immediate consequence to his fear of Meiko, so he swallowed and spoke up to the two girls. “Excuse me Tanaka-san, but would you and your club mate mind heading to that little mixup in the courtyard while Mikami-san and I go get a teacher? You only need to step in if you feel it’s necessary, and we’ll hurry along ourselves I promise.” He was chuckling nervously again, in part because he was asking Meiko a favor shortly after trying to blow her off, and partly because he could feel a subtle pinching sensation somewhere at his side. After the two would rush off, he would look back at his VP with a nervous expression. “M-Mikami-s-…san? Why are you pinching me?” The girl merely stood there
without moving, her gaze slightly averted from him as if she were pouting, despite her lack of obvious expression.

Down in the courtyard, things seemed to be heating up. The trio continued sneering confidently, even as the first kid got sheltered by another that appeared to have a screw loose and some girl that didn’t look particularly threatening despite her efforts, only to reveal himself to also be a loon. “This is pretty damn funny! A couple of loonies and a little girl? Did you all think that just evening the numbers would even the odds against you? Well just so you know, you’re not getting out of this unharmed! You’ll learn not to go around getting in our way again!” As he spoke, the group leader began cracking his knuckles threateningly as his two cronies began walking in either direction to create a semicircle in front of the 3 underclassmen, cracking their own knuckles and grinning as well.

"I see." Erin blinked, having just assumed that she was being forced into the club from the little scene from a few seconds ago. From the appearance of another upperclassmen and the following reactions from the second year and Aria, Erin figured that she might of been the one Aria was talking about. Before she could say anything else on the matter, the two upperclassmen started talking, with Yuu hounding on Shiori for most of the conversation.

This was confirmed with Aria being pointed out and then the club's president approaching for confirmation herself. Amusement gleamed in Erin's eyes for a moment before she shook her head lightly.

"It's good to know that a fellow first year like yourself will be here. Might make this way more interesting than I expected." she told Aria, leaning against a desk then.

The feisty black haired girl named Miyako walked the hallways in search of the so called spy, her beady red eyes alert and observant. Ever since she spent time with her parents she felt so pressed for time and anxious. She felt like she needed to prove who she really is. That she's not crazy and everything is not an illusion!

She rounded the corner and almost bumped into someone as she was stopped by a huge crowd who seems busy about something. With her curiosity now peaked, she decided to check and see what's up. It was not an easy feat for her to do since she was not gifted on the height department but she did try her best.

"Move" she commanded to a student but was completely ignored. "I said move!" She commanded once again but her voice was drowned out by the chants. Frustrated and completely humiliated, Miyako crossed her arms and stomped her feet. "This is ridiculous! What's all the fuss is about?!"

The three bullies had entered their battle formation, so to speak. Surrounding the three of them and just itching to break them to bits. In the back of his mind, Satori knew he probably should be fleeing right now. But he had trust in his abilities, and trust that perhaps with the three of them combined, they might be able to do them in. He'd fought upperclassmen before as a middle-schooler. Hell, that's how he got that title of Godslayer. Compared to that, these three weren't even a blip on his radar. His grip tightened on his pistol, his eyes trained on the leader.

It was then that the originally believed helpless child transformed before his eyes, revealing a hidden form bursting with energy and possibilities. Why hadn't the child done this before? Perhaps he wasn't needed after all. Then again, it would be extremely short-sighted to guess their abilities...and he was in it for the publicity regardless. Masamune's gaze shifted back to the star child. "Hey. Kid. I dunno what powers you have, but don't get in my way. I'll deal with the band's ringleader. You take the one on the left. Hopefully our friend can take the one on the right." He acknowledged the girl's presence for a moment, seeing as she had yelled at him. "Isn't it obvious what I'm doing? I'm putting these buffoons in their place."

"I admit, standing up to me without fear takes a lot of courage...that, or a lot of stupidity. But if you refuse to surrender, there is only one recourse." Masamune shifted his stance, his entire body pointed at the barbarian. "Taste the burning flames of the merciless Howling Wind." With that, he pulled the trigger of his pistol, blasting an inferno of a bullet at the hapless enemy. A direct hit to the forehead; within moments, his foe was engulfed in a roaring fire. Though he was certain the fight had ended before it even began, Masamune did not holster his pistol quite yet. He wanted to see the ashes of his enemy.

For all the world to see, Satori had pulled the trigger. There had been an audible click, but no bullet was fired. A light gust of wind blew throughout the courtyard, punctuating the sudden silence that had fallen over the crowd. Satori thinking he had won, and the student body wondering just how many times he had been dropped on the head as a child.

[fieldbox="Kona Omari, red, solid"]

Kona stared the upperclassman down, and she dropped into a classic fighting stance, krav maga style. Her dominant foot forward and both hands up in front of her face, one staggered slightly behind the other. "I would like you to know that this little girl is going to make sure one of you goes home with a broken arm. Which one of you wants to go first?" Kona asked as the bullies circled around the small group, defiant in tone and looks. The next thing to happen astounded Kona though. The boy behind her said that he was "Putting these buffoons in their place." as if his unloaded toy gun was real and all three of the upperclassmen here weren't going to beat the hell out of him and the kid he stood up for, not to mention Kona too. Kona's eyes trained on the leader, and her body tensed up like a spring, ready to jump forward. She'd have to trust that the other kids could hold their own for around ten seconds. That's how long Kona would need to decide the fight with the leader. Then Kona heard a click, and she was astounded again. The boy behind her had fired his gun like it was loaded, and she was certain she could almost feel him smiling confidently. Not taking her eyes off the leader, Kona spoke, wondering to herself aloud. "What did I get myself into?"[/fieldbox]

Aito Fujimoto

As the Starchild, Aito was able to keep his mind under control; after all... He... No... She, was no stranger to combat. However, her experience had taught her to be carefull, and though she initially prepared to finish the battle in one, clean, swoop, she felt something was wrong.

So for the moment, she took up a defensive stance, keeping a close eye on the enemy closest to her, which happened to be the person on the left, as Satori had suggested... But, she glimpsed the Masamune's own battle from the corner of her eye; a powerfull blast from his weapon, which would have felled any normal beast in a burst of flames... Yet... When the smoke cleared, the enemy remained standing... With hardly a scratch.

They were strong, too strong to contend with in an slugfest. She had to improvise.

For a moment, she stood completely still as she tried to formulate another plan of attack, other than rush her opponent head on. Then, it suddenly hit her; if her opponent was weakened, maybe they stood a chance... If not at overwhelming them, then at holding them off long enough to make a clean get away.

However, in order to cast the correct spell that should accomplish this, she needed a free hand... Which meant she would be stuck with only one of her blades temporarily.

First and foremost though, she needed an opening.

So, with a fiery look in her eyes, she stared down her opponent, almost as if inviting them to make the first move. She would be ready to launch a counter-attack, and see just how tough the enemies they were up against truly were...

...

In reality, Aito was using his Chuuni persona as a way to help cope with the fact that he was about to get pumelled by 3 bullies. He had raised his wooden training swords in a defensive poise, nothing like how a formally trained fighter might go about it, but it was close enough to suffice. Despite this, he was staring daggers at the bully in front of him, almost as if goading the bully to strike him or something... Thanks to being in a bit of a delusion at the moment.

He had a flashlight stowed away in one of his pockets, but in order to be able to use it properly, he had to stow away one of his swords, and he couldn't do this while he was at risk of being attacked. Thus, his chuuni persona deduced it was better to wait for his opponent to strike before he returned with a move of his own... But just what, he wasn't too sure.

Just that he had to use his flashlight in some way to give him an advantage... From there, his Chuuni persona would take the lead.

Picking up the word "Kurushio", Satoshi knew he should ask for help immediately. He couldn't exactly show up and assist the mortals, not with too many of them to witness. However, he decided that it would be downright injustice to let the situation be.

"Stay here, I'll get help," he said to Miyako. But it was no longer lazy and languid Satoshi. It was the god of the sun that spoke through him.

Phoenix demanded righteousness! And for that he must get a mortal who can intervene.

When he turned to where their new disciple was with Blue Hair, Murakami and Mikami where there. He dashed to them with his long legs, startling other students as well as the "God Conbi".

"I take it that you were summoned here by the forces of light." Satoshi spoke with a voice that was a bit deeper than his own. Murakami's jaw dropped and he frantically looked at his partner and back at Satoshi who went on, "There is trouble below, they need help."

"We sent Tanaka and Ikeda there so we could get a teacher," Murakami replied with a panicky tone.

"Find a medic." Satoshi commanded and he ran for the stairs. There, he heard their new disciple's voice.

"Remember 'North Wind and the Sun' from Eight Ranger back in kindergarten?"

Satoshi stopped to listen. He knew the show a little bit, about a seven-man team of masked rangers. Blue Hair didn't at all sound too sure about it, so Meiko explained the whole ordeal as briefly as she could.

"North Wind and the Sun, like the legend?" he peeked over at the girls, but in the split second he searched his thoughts for memories of the show and of the old folktale, the girls had made a run for the school grounds, with Meiko still talking.

Satoshi followed, listening keenly and halted when he realized what was going on.

"Wait, wait!" He called, but a shrill scream and the sound of a tackle caught everyone's attention.

---Melancholy & Chaos---

When Shiori was slammed with an entire rant from the girl whom she referred to as Yuu, Aria got abruptly knocked out of her funk and was thoroughly taken aback. I guess this Yuu-senpai is the club president; I should make sure to show her the proper respect. As she watched the two of them communicate, she couldn't help but giggle to herself a bit. Normally she would feel that Shiori was being disrespectful, but since Yuu clearly noticed the ignorance she was being shown and didn't seem to get irritated by it the assumption was easily discarded. They must be really good friends... or maybe Yuu-senpai just knows Shiori-san enough to tolerate her at least... either way, I'm kinda jealous of them. I wish I had a close friend like that...

As she was lost in longing thought, she was brought back to attention when she noticed that she was suddenly the focus of attention again with Shiori pointing directly at her. Her eyes were naturally locked onto the finger extending in her direction, and when Yuu was suddenly on her case she had to try really hard not to jump out of her socks. She quickly bowed deeply to Yuu and responded; "Y-yes! The other day a lot happened, and Shiori-san saved me by taking me to the nurse's office. After that she told me to come here. I only came today because I was absent yesterday to recover. To be honest I was a bit unsure about joining at first, but I've decided that I would like to join if you will have me, Yuu-buchou!"

After letting it out of her chest, the albino raised her head again with a sigh of relief. From behind her, Aria heard her new club-mate speak her reliefs in having a fellow classmate in the club, to which Aria couldn't agree more. She turned her gaze towards the girl, smiling as she responded. "I'm in agreement; I look forward to working with you, ...um... y-" Aria was about to ask for her name, but was cut off when Yuu burst into a laughter she had apparently been holding in since Aria had greeted her. She then said something unexpected that completely surprised Aria. "Eeeeehhhh?!"

The trip to Nisshinyama was a familiar one, somewhat quick too since Kazami knew exactly where to go. Making whooshing noises with her mouth, she ran with all her might, arms spread out as she smiled and acted as the goddess Nyx. Honestly, she couldn't wait to meet up with her new follower, things were going to end up well. Hopefully the girl wouldn't skip out on the meeting, though she had faith in her new trusted follower. Yes, she had faith, faith that the follower would open up to her and help her in any way she could. She was looking forward to it.

In her mind's eye, Nyx had finally landed on a lone island in the sky, made of rock and bone. It did not disturb her, however, as she was used to this place and she knew exactly where to go. Flapping her wings, she flew over to the nearest building in the bazaar, a decent sized shop with a noodle bowl on top and a sign that read Nisshinyama. She entered the premises and looked around for a seat before spotting one with an empty table. She walked over to the table and sat down with a sigh, wings folded as she chanted silently under her breath and swirled a hand. The image of the Queen of the Underworld pulled up, albeit very fuzzy since she hadn't quite gotten her signature yet. Her head jerked to the sound of an approaching person and she gave him a curt nod. "Hello," she greeted, "I will be having a follower come over, so I won't order anything until she comes. I'll let you know when she does come and wave you over." He nodded and proceeded to move onto the next table. Nyx went back to looking at the image she conjured, eyeing the girl.

In all honesty, she wish she had more control of her powers as a goddess so she could see what the mortals- No, the Queen wasn't a mortal. But she was of interest and it miffed her that she couldn't see her clearly. Sighing, Kazami waited and took out her phone, beginning to type on it. "At Nisshinyama right now, hope you have safe travels!" She sent the message and waited for Akemi to come.

The sky was lit up by the stars and moonlight. Vermillion could feel the darkness creeping up to her, it was almost as calming as it was terrifying. She could smell the night air, hear the dreams of mortals, the screams of their nightmares.

It was peaceful...However...

In reality, Akemi could feel the aching anxiety of her meeting. She was afraid of betrayal, afraid of abandonment. She knew that this wasn't always the case. Nyx wasn't a mortal. She wasn't of this world. She knew this...and yet.. It terrified her. Akemi looked down at the plush she held of the magenta phantom.

"Efialtis...I'm afraid."

Akemi continued to walk down the street, eyes of strangers covering her. The anxiety was suffocating. Being watched liked this...was suffocating. Was it how she was dressed or was it the stressed look on her face? She wasn't sure, but not knowing only made it worse. Her pace quickened as she could see the ramen shop in her vision. She needed to hurry. Finally making it to the entry way, she cautiously drug her feet through the door way.

"Excuse me..."

Surprised by Murakami's request and baffled by the strange energy Mikami was giving off, Meiko and Hitomi exchanged glances. Hitomi was looking a little too smug and excited for logic.

"Kuroshio gang seems touchy lately but-" Meiko said and grabbed Hitomi's hand, making her way to the stairs. "I heard they have a thing for Miss Hirako!" She added as she and Hitomi hurried.

"Remember North Wind and Sunshine," Meiko said quickly as they ran down the stairs. "From Eight Ranger back in kindergarten?"

She didn't wait for a response and held Hitomi at the shoulders, keeping her voice down. "When Red was in trouble, Black wasn't a member yet and the tactic they used? That."

The enlightenment on Hitomi's face was gradual, but as soon as she lit up, Meiko continued. "You're Wind, I'm Sun. Take on the guy who's about to attack."

They both dashed into the crowd, ignoring the familiar voice that called for them to wait. There was no time to lose. The moment she got close, Meiko let out her best horror movie scream.

The students were startled and the next thing they knew, Hitomi was on the ground between the gang member and the closest student. Some onlookers gasped at the sight. Hitomi was sprawled under the attacker and the other students had been pushed away.

"HICCHAN!" Meiko mustered up her best helpless-shoujo-anime-lead voice. "Don't hurt her! Don't hurt them! Please!"

She dropped onto the ground beside Hitomi, who was covering her face and shaking slightly. She pulled Hitomi close in a dramatically protective way that she wondered if they bought it.

The smug look one of them had was enough proof to her that they did.

"Tanaka Subaru sends his regards," she muttered so that only those close enough could hear. She faced them with a steely gaze for about a few seconds and went back to her best friend, worrying about why Hitomi was shaking.

The gang members' eyes widened.

Upon hearing Aria address her how she did, Yuu was shocked for a split second, her mouth slightly agape, but she had to quickly clamp her mouth shut again in order to stifle the oncoming torrent of laughter, but as hard as she tried she couldn't hold it in for very long. Her loud burst into laughter seemed to surprise everyone in the room, though Shiori hardly reacted to no one's surprise. As she kept laughing, Yuu was eventually wrapping her arms around her waist and hunching over due to how violent her laughter was getting. Shortly after this point, Shiori actually spoke up; "Yuu, it isn't that funny..."

Upon being lazily called out by Shiori, the blunt girl quelled her hysterics, wiping a tear from her eye and sighing as she slowly reclaimed her composure. "Yeah, sorry about that, but didn't I tell you and everyone from last year that this would end up happening?" At this comment, the more quiet upperclassman merely pouted in silence. Yuu smiled with a slight snark before turning back to the underclassman who were still bewildered by what was going on. "Sorry about that; I couldn't help myself. I should probably introduce myself. I'm Maki Yuuko, and I'm the Reading & Literature Club Vice President. This," she signaled with a wave of the hand to her quiet friend standing diagonally behind her, "is Satou Shiori, my longtime friend and the President of the Reading & Literature Club."

"Heeheehee~" Hitomi couldn't help but plaster her victory-induced cocky attitude all over her face with the smug grin she threw Meiko's way when their gazes met. When she was immediately pulled away and dragged along by her, the grin was immediately replaced with a giddy smile instead, which only got brighter as she realized her hand was being held by Meiko. She didn't immediately process what her idol was saying because of this, but when they stopped and she was being held still by the shoulders, she started thinking way back in order to try to remember what Meiko was talking about. She pondered for a moment, before she finally found the correct memory to retrace. How did that go again? ... After a few seconds of thinking, her faced popped with realization so quickly and brightly that you could swear a light bulb actually popped out the top of her head as she smacked a fist down on her upturned palm.

She nodded in acceptance of her role and dashed out as soon as Meiko did, making sure to move with a slightly alternate path so as to not be right next to the Sun once it flared. As soon as everyone's attention was on her instead of the target, the Wind blew in through the cracks at breakneck speed. Hitomi tactfully bumped into the gang leader hard enough to throw him off balance, then used some choice footwork as she herself fell intentionally to the ground in order to make sure he fell on top of her. In order to keep him from picking up on who she was and thus ruin the whole plan, Hitomi covered her face and assumed the most girly (and incriminating) pose she could think of for the situation; her legs firmly together between the thug lord's and her hand that wasn't covering her face instead covering her (noticeably ample) chest.

"What th-" As the leader of the gang felt a hard bump to his shoulder and his feet escape the ground, he wasn't sure what was going on or how to react at first, having been trying to ignore the scream and instead use it as a convenient cover to thrust a sucker punch towards the girl that stood before him in stubborn defiance. When he landed and cleared his head to notice that a different girl had run into him and obstructed his attack, he was filled with even more rage. "Damn BITCH!" He raised and cocked back his fist in preparation to swing down on the seemingly defenseless girl when another one suddenly appeared on top of the other, apparently trying to shield her friend whilst begging for mercy.

At first taken aback, the leader's face soon twisted into an ugly smirk of smug confidence, coupled with a slight chuckle under his breath. There he was, in a position of total control just the way he liked, with one girl shivering and cowering on the ground and her friend trying to protect her while begging for a forgiveness that he definitely didn't plan to give. Unbeknownst to him, the real reason Hitomi was shivering was because she was struggling to not laugh hysterically at the act her idol was putting on. It's so corny, sugah-coated, and over tha top! I nevah though' I'da ever hear Meimei talk like this'n a mill'in years! I'm gon' bust mah gut!

Just before the gang leader was about to tell her 'too bad' and swing down anyway, the second girl (Meiko) uttered a name that was all too familiar to him. It was then that he finally realized who the second girl actually was, as she flashed a cold, steely expression at him before returning to fawning over her friend. After receiving this first shock, he could only allow his own gaze to follow Meiko's actions to then fall on the girl on the ground, and realize by her iconically colored hair that it was no random helpless girl, but Ikeda Hitomi playing an act.

He immediately stood up and took a step away from them, eyes popping wide for a moment and teeth clenched with fear. The other thugs, while having not seen Meiko's face, had just been able to pick up Tanaka Subaru's name mentioned, and were surprisingly perceptive to the fear that their boss was just barely hiding. Naturally of course, they still had an ego and reputation that they didn't want anyone else to know was tarnished. "Tch, f-fine! We're letting you off this time, but you brats better watch where you stick yer noses! C'mon guys, there's too many people getting involved; WE'RE OUT!"

"Don't stop the party on my account boys. I was hoping to see a little... FIRE!" Just as the Kuroshio gang were about to leave (with their tails between their legs), the voice the school nurse Hirako Aya rang out above the crowd, carrying a familiar but slightly inappropriate playfulness to it. Not even a second later, what appeared to be a roll of medical tape zoomed past the crowd and wrapped around the three thugs like a lasso, effectively tying them up like bandits in an old Western-American flick. Hirako-sensei was standing proudly at the other end of the tape lasso, an expression like she had successfully and proudly caught a rare animal in her lasso adorning her face as she held the tape tight so the thugs couldn't move further. Standing behind her was the Student Council Vice President, a somewhat bothered expression being swiftly wiped from her face as soon as the crowd's eyes were directed towards the two of them. She then stepped forward while clearing her throat.

"Did you three honestly think that the Student Council would allow you to start problems again this year without issuing swift disciplinary action on you? You honestly need to get your acts together; this isn't your first time as Seniors and last year you were held back because of this very behavior you're flaunting. Now come; we'll be taking you to the teacher's office where the Student Council President as well as Fukuyama-sensei are waiting for the five of us to have a discussion with your parents." With that, Mikami turned and began walking back towards the school building. Hirako-sensei, with an expression of near-sadistic delight, yanked on the tape to pull the defeated thugs off their feet. "Let's go you bad boys~; don't drag your feet! Ehehehehe." She then proceeded to drag the four of them along while laughing slyly at her own wordplay, the tape slung over her shoulder.

After a moment of stunned silence, everyone in the crowd simultaneously decided that it would be best to clear out. Hitomi, on the other hand, was still shivering on the ground, but she now had a hand tightly clamped over her mouth and she was curled up in a fetal-like position on her back. If anyone were to address her in any way verbally, she would immediately burst into uncontrollable laughter, accompanied by rampant kicking and flailing hysterics on the ground.

Erin watched the three others in the room, blinking as Aria was cut off by Yuu suddenly laughing rather loudly. It honestly startled Erin a bit, but she tried to play it off. She listened, glancing out of the window a moment because well, she hoped no one had noticed her jump, or else that would of been pretty embarrassing. "Wow...what a twist. With how you two act it's no wonder you guys got mixed up." Erin said, rubbing the back of her head as she looked to both Yuu and Shiori now. These three together seemed to be quite the lively bunch, so she was actually glad to have found some entertainment.

In her minds eye, Celeste was pleased with what she saw from the scholars so far, hoping to learn much while in their presence. She also hoped that the other of snow and ice would be an ally she could trust in in the coming days. She could only hope after all.

"Satoshi!" Miyako called out to her cousin, her eyes wide as he suddenly ran past her and left her behind. She kept on calling him but it seems it was futile. For a moment, anger coursed through her veins but upon the realization that he was no longer her cousin but Phoenix, she let her anger go. She knew that Phoenix would stop at nothing until justice is served. Thus, Miyako then decided to follow him.

Upon arriving at the scene, there was chaos. Men who seems like gang members began punching left and right. Miyako was about to help but upon taking out her cards from her pocket, she didn't feel the usual electrical pulse. She frowned, her eyes furrowed as she wondered why her deck felt so dead.

"Its because you are slowly forgetting me"a girl with black haired answered with her pink eyes full of sorrow.

Miyako let out a gasp. There standing in front of her was Charm. Immediately Miyako noticed that the entire room was shrouded by darkness and none other than her and Charm was there.

"You are starting to doubt. To hesitate. You.. you're starting to lose me.."

"The cards could feel all of your hesitation, Miyako. And for that, they deemed you.. not worthy."

"N-Not worthy?" A shocked expression crossed her features, her eyes now watering. "What do you mean not worthy? I.. I'm not losing myself! I am still me. I am still Charm. I.. I.."Miyako was now full blown crying, her voice full of desperation. "I'm still Charm. Monstre Charmant.. right?"

Slowly, Charm faded away and all that was left was Miyako crying, the cards now scattered all around her. "W-Who am I really?"

Wait. What exactly just happened here? For the longest time, it had just been Satori, the two beside him, and the three bullies. But when the leader of the gang had just ignored his shot, suddenly the courtyard had exploded with intruders. There was a scream, and suddenly a girl had fallen between them, interrupting the entire ordeal. Satori even lowered his gun in the entire mess. What exactly was going on here? The second girl seemed to have the gang leader in a fit, as well. Satori wasn't sure how the situation had gotten out of hand, but he was going to end it one way or another. He raised his arm again, prepared to give them another shot...

And everything went nuts a second time. The school nurse had arrived, lassoing the gang and dragging them away as the student council's vice president gave them a stern scolding. The entire scene had come to a close, leaving a bewildered Satori standing next to two students he had never met before. "Oh, um...so that happened, I think? It kinda just...what just happened?!" His mind was a blur. Had he just gotten into a fight, or was he part of some sort of stageplay? Nothing made sense anymore. He went over to sit on one of the benches in the courtyard, trying to process the information that had just been laid before him.

How pathetic. After the lead ruffian had been utterly unfazed by his fiery ammunition, Masamune had believed he'd finally be granted a challenge, something he had been looking forward to and then some. But then some commoners had gotten involved, distracting both him and his foes until a wandering doctor had stolen his thunder and dispatched the group without even having to get close to them. He was made a fool, something he refused to take lightly. He sat down on a stone bench nearby, reholstering his weapons and folding his arms in evident frustration. How was he supposed to earn his keep if other bounty hunters were just going to swoop in and steal his kill? It simply wasn't fair. Why would Lady Fate treat him so?

Only then did Satori glance back up, realizing he had just wandered away from the entire group of students. He flushed an embarrassed scarlet, walking back over to them. "Um, so...thanks for uh...keeping things from escalating." It wasn't often someone didn't just flee at the sight of his guns. The high school was a much different place than the lower grades, that was for certain. "Seems everything ended well in the end." Satori, true to form, was completely unsure what to say, not to the original bullying victim, the girl who jumped in, or the interfering pair. He hung his head, kicking the dirt quietly, hoping someone else might pipe up and save him the awkwardness. "I'm Satori."

[fieldbox="Kona Omari"]

Kona clenched her fists, ready to fight, ready to pounce on the boy in front of her and beat him to a pulp. Then suddenly, in a rush, two girls interrupted. Quickly the impending fight was broken up. The group of boys even thought they were going to get away, but that was quickly thwarted too, the boys being wrapped up, almost impossibly it seemed, by a set of medical tape that lassoed the boys like it was a rope tying them up and preventing them from running off. Kona followed the tape back to the Nurse, who quickly wrapped the situation up- no pun intended- and pulled the gang off to the office to have a discussion. Kona found herself quickly attempting to compose herself, releasing a breath she didn't know she had been holding, and returning to a normal casual stance. Then she remembered the kid she had stepped in to save. Flashing her eyes back to the boy who was wielding the two toy swords and briefly assuring herself that he was okay, she turned on the boy who had the nerf guns and strode right up to him, sticking her index finger in his face. "Are you completely crazy?" She asked. "Those three highschoolers would have beaten the crap out of you if someone hadn't stepped in! You came into that waving around a nerf gun of all things? What do you think you were doing? They would have pulverized you! Do you have no sense of self preservation?"[/fieldbox]

Aito Fujimoto

Like a switch was suddenly flipped in his mind... Once the gang was handled... Aito seemed suddenly return to normal, the Starchild fading away into his subconsciousness. Realizing what had happened, out in the public too, his cheeks flushed red a little as he quickly stowed away his two bokken.

Patting himself down to make sure everything on him was in place, he sighed... His gaze first flitted to the older boy with nerf guns near him. Normally he may have approached him, like nothing had happened at all, but, a girl, considerably older than him was already ahead of him, giving him quite the scolding. She almost reminded him of his mother, or at least the mother he sometimes wished he had; there was hardly any communication at all within his family. Whatever there may have been before the move, had been lost since then.

In the end, Aito chose to do something... Strange, at least to his standards. Instead of walking away from the scene, trying to pretend like he never saw anything happen at all, but... Here, he felt like he was in too deep this time.

Quietly, he approached the girl who had stood up to the gang of bullies from earlier, at least before some much needed intervention from the school nurse, amongst others. He didn't really say anything, but instead... Made an attempt to put a hand on her forehead, as if checking her temperature.

It was the best way he could think of ask if she was okay... Without alarming her too much more that is.

Game-trained eyes could follow the quick events that confused the spectating crowd, but one can't exactly focus on two things at a time.

Unless, that is, one would be aware of the "North Wind and Sun" technique.

Phoenix watched out for Blue Hair, knowing his disciple was the distraction. Blue hair managed to reverse the force of an incoming attack and made it look like she was hit. Phoenix had broken into the crowd by then, able to make it in the middle and simply peek over the rest in front of him.

Meiko whispered something for a second, but went right back to worrying about her friend.

It was an absolutely non-violent strategy that would only be expected of a being that was loyal to the light. Phoenix was beyond impressed, he was moved by what he saw and he slowly stepped back.

His cousin must know.

No, the princess must know.

Phoenix turned away just as the authorities came to deescalate the situation. There were more pressing matters at the moment.

Golden eyes swept the crowd of excitedly chattering students for a familiar pair of curled twin tails. To his surprise, there was another, smaller crowd of concerned students around Miyako who was crying in a heap on the ground. Her cards were scattered about and her soft sobs were restrained.

"Hey are you alright?" A senior checked on her.

"Matsuoka-san?" The senior's companion said. Phoenix recognized them from the other class.

Phoenix came closer, without a word. He gave each of the students a pat and a gesture to leave. He could not say something that could incriminate their identities to the mundanes around. It took one look at his hard gaze to make them bow and walk off.

Getting on his knees, he carefully gathered the cards and pulled Monstre Charmant close, gently so as not to trigger her defenses. His hand on her head was light, careful not to disarrange even a single hair strand on the style he usually helped put together but had not, on that particular day. In fact, he had not helped her with anything in a while since she had seen her parents.

"This fight isn't over," Phoenix said with a low voice, still glaring at all the others who slowed down and watched them, effectively keeping them distant. It was time he reassured her that although he was mostly powerless in his mortal form, in the vessel that is Satoshi Maruyama, he was still her ally.

"This has only begun, and fate favors us." Phoenix pulled away and took her hand, passing her the cards. He made sure to use both of his own hands to do so, knowing the cards were powerful and potentially dangerous to him. "A new chapter is starting. We must prepare."

---A Big Pill To Swallow---

Aria remained dumbfounded for a good few moments. She had a hard time believing what she had been told; that the club's most responsible senior member was the Vice President, while the President was none other than Shiori, who gave off next to no aura of responsibility whatsoever. After she was eventually able to process this, she let out a quiet sigh as she gathered herself. At this point a question floated it's way into her mind that she couldn't chase away.

"Um... excuse me if this is rude, but why is Shiori-san President and Yuuko-sempai Vice President?" Her curiosity was peaked, and she payed extra attention when Yuuko spoke up in response. The answer she got, however, was both a bit anticlimactic and an interest-raising cliffhanger as well. Immediately after she was told to take a seat, to which she replied "yes ma'am" before sitting at the desk next to her fellow freshman while the upperclassmen remained standing in front of them. As she sat, Aria gulped silently in anticipation for what they were going to say next.
