Romance is a big plus for me, but I can be pretty adaptable
Tell me, have you ever heard of the term "Chuunibyou", or "Eighth Grader Syndrome"? For those not familiar with this Japanese term, you might understand better by hearing it's more common English synonym: "Delusions of Grandeur". This is a sad affliction that typically affects young adolescents, its most drastic form making those who contract it believe they have special powers or are somehow connected to and surrounded by the occult. For those such patients, the period in which they retain these delusions later develops into an embarrassing period of shame that forever haunts their memories, despite how much fun they seem to have at the time. In most cases this behavior subsides by the beginning of one's first year in high school, but there are some cases where patients retain their status as chuunibyou patient for the remainder of their school days and sometimes longer.

About
This is an RP loosely based on the anime "Chuunibyou Demo Koi ga Shitai". I say loosely because it recycles similar themes and setting, but with all original characters. No canon characters will show up in this RP, and only characters approved in the CS thread for this RP should be posting in the IC. If someone is interested in joining they can post here in the OOC about their interest as well as infer as to where the plot is moving, and then fill out a CS, which should only be posted in the CS thread (both linked above). The rules for this RP are as follows:
  1. [BCOLOR=#800000]First and foremost you need to adhere to the standard rules of RPing: no powerplaying or meta-gaming, but mild godmoding or auto-hitting is allowed as long as it's to the point of, say, occasionally having a perfect counter, flicking someone too close on the forehead, or sneaking up behind someone who is distracted and tickling them or the likes, but anything beyond is forbidden. That said, many acts of light auto-hitting like the tickling will still need to be discussed between players in the OOC for permission.[/BCOLOR]
  2. [BCOLOR=#ffff00]The next thing I can't stress enough is that characters don't necessarily need to get along, but players should still show respect to each other in the OOC and retain a positive environment here.[/BCOLOR]
  3. [BCOLOR=#000080]The IC will be conducted in an orderly manner with an episodic style where character posting order will be determined prior to each episode. Depending on how things turn out it may be possible that some posting orders will be reused, but that is to be determined. Players may also use a posting profile to spruce up their posts should they wish to use one.[/BCOLOR]
  4. [BCOLOR=#ff0000]Players are not aloud to post in the IC unless their character has been approved and it is that character's turn to post.[/BCOLOR]
  5. [BCOLOR=#ffcc99]Even though this is based on the Chuunibyou series, one does not need to have actually seen or read the series to join as long as they can match the setting, though it is nonetheless highly recommended as the series is great![/BCOLOR]
  6. [BCOLOR=#333333]Like in the series there will be delusion battles on occasion. Make sure that all actions performed in the realm of fantasy during such events are justifiable within the constructs of the realm of reality.[/BCOLOR]
  7. [BCOLOR=#008000]Despite this RP focusing around the concept of chuunibyou, it does not mean you can't have a character like Kumin or Isshiki from the anime: one who's either completely oblivious to chuunibyou or doesn't quite have it but is mildly interested in the idea.[/BCOLOR]
  8. [BCOLOR=#999999]On the subject of characters: there will be a max cap of 2 per player to begin with. This being said, both characters do not need to be submitted or enter the fray at the beginning. In other words, you could go ahead and submit a CS for 2 different characters if you want, and have one enter in later on in the RP, and you could also submit just one in the beginning and then submit another one at a later date when inspiration strikes you. This goes without saying that you can also submit 2 characters and start RPing as both right from the get-go. If the latter is done then, when character posting order is chosen, you may have influence over which of your two characters you'd like to post as before the other, but they will still adhere to the randomly generated order and they can not switch places after the order has been set. One more thing to note is that although the initial character limit is 2 per person, if,later on down the road, anyone feels that they want to have another character they are free to submit a third as long as they can still keep up.[/BCOLOR]
  9. [BCOLOR=#003366]Bear in mind while you are creating your character that since this RP is anime-based all FCs need be in anime style and of decent quality; whether they are official anime/manga art, anime-style game art, or fan art/commission. Sources won't need to be cited, however, so no need to stress there.[/BCOLOR]
  10. [BCOLOR=#ff9900]Another point to note is that, similar to the original series, there will be a dedicated junior high school connected to the high school where most of the setting takes place, so the possibility for making a junior high character like Dekomori is open as long as they have relevance to the setting. Despite this, characters at the high school are not barred from having attended a different junior high school.[/BCOLOR]
  11. [BCOLOR=#800080]Touching up from earlier on character limitations; family members and random NPCs can be used independent of your character limit, as long as they are not used as frequently as a PC would be; the occasional one liner from a random person or RPing as a character's family when around them at home or whatever is acceptable.[/BCOLOR]
  12. [BCOLOR=#ff99cc]Oh, romance? Sure, there can be an element of romance to this RP between characters; just remember that if one or both parties are patients of chuunibyou it will be a long and bumpy road before they can officially be called an item as those suffering from the affliction typically aren't well versed in such deep, complex relationships and will frequently cause problems or misunderstandings. Granted some characters can already be in a relationship upon RP launch, as long as it is specified by both parties in the CS and at least briefly explained in their bio. if players would like to discuss various inner plots such as this among each other they may do so in the OOC.[/BCOLOR]
  13. [BCOLOR=#ffffff]Lastly, this RP will be taking place in modern Japan (specifically: the Minato ward in Tokyo, a.k.a. Minato City), and as such it will be following typical Japanese customs. High school and junior high school each have only 3 years, and classes will begin in April; typically when cherry blossoms begin or are close to blooming. Also, there are no dedicated school buses to pick up students; they will commute to school by either train, public bus, and/or foot depending on the distance between their home and the school. Classes will take place Monday-Saturday, with Saturday being a half day. Also don't forget that all students have foot lockers at the entrance of the school where they switch between their indoor and outdoor shoes which are provided by the student's family. Lastly on the subject is that while there is a cafeteria within the school where students can buy lunches via purchasing vouchers at a machine and then bringing them to the service area, a large percentage of students typically tend to have packed lunches (bentou! XD) brought from home often consisting of leftovers or a small, balanced lunch prepared by family alongside white rice, so make sure to keep these factors in mind.[/BCOLOR]
This is the IC for this RP. AS the GM I take control of major NPCs, such as school staff, but minor ones like random students or family members of one's own approved characters are free game. For those who skipped over the rules due to familiarity you may want to review rules 1 and 3 as they have been touched up. As this is the header thread it will not contain much extra information other than current characters and posting order, which will also be listed at the starting point of each episode which will also be posted by me. Do note that the posting information at the episode starters will be episode specific, while the same information in this post will be up to date to the current episode. I will also include information on the various notable staff members within the school in this head post.

NPC Student(s)

Hitomi Ikeda

---Hitomi Ikeda---
5524-356810373.jpg
Age: 18
Class: 3-B
Club: Karate Club
Personality: Hitomi is normally a very high energy person with a deep interest in anything mysterious or strange. She fantasizes about being an amazing detective or sleuth, and is fairly skilled at staying well informed about the happenings around school and collecting gossip from other students, but despite all this her extreme lack of patience and the fact that she's also slightly airheaded at times makes it difficult for her to actually stake out information herself. All in all she's relatively sweet and kindhearted to most, but can also be fairly mischievous at times if you get on her bad side.
Trivia: She actually originally wanted to start a Mystery Club, but due to being unable to gather interested members the club flopped and she ended up joining the Karate Club since the school enforces that all students join a club and her parents wanted her to learn to protect herself. Surprisingly enough she is one of the few members who is able to keep up with the club president.

Kazami had her head resting on the table as she waited for her new ally to come to her. While she knew she should be patient, as the Queen might have been shy about the whole thing and hesitated to come, she nonetheless felt slightly irked that she hadn't been here by now. But who knows, maybe the trip from the Underworld took more time to reach this mortal plane than her current body can move from her current dwellings to Nisshinyama. The thought of her dwellings was a sore spot and she quickly pushed it aside as she lifted her head up to scan for the girl.

In her mind's eye, Nyx's eyes lit up when a clearer image of the Queen came into view, just as she entered the shop. She immediately stood up and gracefully glided over to the Queen, trying to hide her excitement in order to keep a godly figure about her. "Ah, you have come, my friend!" she exclaimed as she lighted down in front of her, "Come! We have much to discuss and you must be hungry. Now, I believe we should wave over someone in order to get our meals?" She beckoned for the young lady to follow as she went back to her table and waved over a butler who came immediately. "The usual for me! A bowl of your finest!" Her white eyes flickered over to Vermillion as she regarded the girl, momentarily wondering what she would order.

As her eyes trained on Akemi eagerly, Kazami couldn't help but wonder what her home life was like. Was it just as turbulent as her dwellings? Was there much fighting and screaming to be had? Was Akemi going through some inner turmoil? Were the screamings directed at her? Such dark thoughts clouded her mind and filled her with unneeded worry, but she wasn't going to say them out loud. After all, no one knew what another person's life was like unless they were actually there for crying out loud. She immediately straightened herself as her green eyes flickered away momentarily before fixating onto her glasses once more. "I trust you had a safe journey?" she asked, hiding the worry.

[fieldbox="Akemi, #e34234, dashed, 10"]
Akemi had shuffled across the eatery, attempting to hide her nervousness. She sat down across from the girl and smiled weakly, "I---". Akemi stopped herself for a moment and her feeling of dread faded as a confident smile grew on her face, "But of course. The mortal realm is nothing compared to home." Akemi then glanced down at the plush, "Efialtis complained that we wasted time walking here, but the night sky here is absolutely lovely!" The girl crossed her legs as she glanced around the room, then at the servant. "Hum...I'll guess I have Chikara Udon."

Akemi sat the plush down beside her and reached down under her skirt to pull out a black notebook. "Tell me...what is the creator of dreams, night and darkness doing here..?" She had then set the small book down on the table to the side. Akemi shifted her eyes again to the supposed mortals in the restaurant. All she saw were shadows. This made the girl uneasy. Akemi began to mumble to herself as she subconsciously tapped her nails on the table. "Hum..."

[fieldbox="Meiko, coral, dashed"]
As soon as everything cleared up, Meiko resisted the urge to heave a huge sigh, still playing her part as the "worried and helpless friend". She gave a bow to the two students who approached Hitomi and patted her friend on the shoulder.

Immediately, Hitomi burst out laughing and Meiko quickly pinned one of her friend's wrists down while putting a hand over her mouth. "Hicchan, please!"

Meiko herself was red in the face from her earlier act, but she was glad that it worked, without confrontation having to happen. When Hitomi finally calmed, Meiko helped her up.

"Try to not provoke the Kurushio gang," she addressed the underclassmen as she patted grass off her knees, straightened her uniform and rearranged her hair. "Or let us know if they cause you trouble. Right, Hicchan?" Meiko put an arm over Hitomi's shoulder.

It suddenly felt like the good old days, just her and Hitomi and their crazy little plans.

Shiori seemed to be quietly pouting and sulking behind Yuuko, who laughed heartily at Erin's observation. "Yeah, that's what I said would happen when we were appointed." After a moment of wiping the tears from her eyes, the albino girl pitched her own question. Yuuko rested a finger on her chin as she pondered this, her gaze to the roof, before returning her gaze and responding; "It wasn't a really huge reason, but I think that's a story for another day." After an exhale and a smile, she clapped her hands and made an announcement; "Riiight~ Why don't you both sit down and get comfortable? We've got a few things to discuss." She watched with a smile as the two sat before her. "Alright, on to business."

-Time Skip-

The club meeting was over after about 20 or 30 minutes more. They had discussed more about the kind of activities the club held, as well as recruitment of more members for the rest of the month. As Yuuko had elaborated, there was already a fifth member of the club, a second year, who wasn't able to make it to the meeting that day, so they were clear of the 5 member minimum. Still, she established that they were free to gather more members and that a wider variety of minds would be preferable. As the meeting drew to a close, Yuuko surrendered the reigns to Shiori.

"We're all making posters. Bring them in whene- ..." she stuttered what she was about to say as she felt her friend's gaze piercing into her before continuing; "... next Monday, and we'll all look at each other's ... and vote on which to use." Her voice was just as low-toned as always, but she seemed to be missing some of the slack she usually spoke with. She then looked back at Yuuko and gave a slight nod, apparently confirming something despite Yuuko's expression not showing any real change. This itself, however, was enough to tell Shiori that she had passed, more or less. She then turned back to the first years. "That should be all. I'm tired now so we can all go home. Meeting adjourned." The blatant honesty of her comment made Yuuko's hand fly to her face as she let out a sound of disappointment, but since Shiori was already heading for the door she couldn't say anything to correct her.

"Don't forget, we'll be meeting immediately after class at the end of school tomorrow!" She grabbed her bag and chased after Shiori with a complaining whine. The club president hadn't gone far though, since she had paused for a moment at the door both to give her friend a moment to catch up as well as to give a small yet warm smile to the underclassmen, before sliding out of the classroom.

Out in the courtyard, Hitomi was actually trying her hardest to hold in her hysterics. She understood that if she were to start laughing then they'd be found out, even if all the other students were clearing out. Whatever happened, she understood more than anything that if they were found out then Meimei would be upset with her, which was her only driving force for holding it in. All of that fell apart, however, when Meiko herself patted her on the shoulder, thus breaking the lock that had been getting strained already by everything it was holding back.

Hitomi's whole body seemed to burst outward like it had exploded as she began belowing out in the loudest fit of laughter she had ever experienced. It was short lived however, for her idol quickly pinned one of her arms to the ground and covered her mouth. Having already passed a point, she still let out sounds of laughter that were muffled by Meiko's hand, her eyes closed from hysterics and her body still squirming about underneath Meiko. If someone were to look on at this scene without context it'd almost look like she were about to be raped, if Meiko were a guy that is. After about a minute, Hitomi's laughter began to sidle down, and when she was finally able to open her eyes she was greeted by quite the feast in her opinion. Her idol was positioned on top of her with a frustrated expression, red in the face. Upon seeing this and taking it in, Hitomi's laughter immediately froze and she herself grew red in the face; you could practically see the pupils of her eyes becoming heart shaped as she stared directly up into Meiko's.

Apparently taking this as a sign that she had calmed down, Meiko got off her, which snapped Hitomi's awareness of the situation back into view. She accepted Meiko's hand to stand back up and began dusting herself off, although there was some on her back she couldn't reach so she removed her blazer jacket to whip it off in the air before slinging it over her shoulder. She had been taking this time to calm down, her face simmering down from bright red to a light pink. When Meiko slung her arm around Hitomi's shoulder and signaled her to join in on offering aid, she returned the one armed embrace and donned a bright and confident smile that spanned from cheek to cheek. "Yeah! Ya c'n totes count on us!" Ah, how embracing shoulder to shoulder like this after enacting out something from their past to beat some bullies into submission reminded Hitomi of the good old days. It made her nostalgic, but she couldn't help feeling that something deeper was there as well, but she couldn't quite pin this foreign feeling. Instinctively because of this, her hand went to her chin as she pondered to herself in silence, a serious expression on her face.

"Ah...I see." Erin blinked, before taking a seat as asked. The next twenty minutes or so went by like a blur for her, but chuckling in amusement as the President and Vice President interacted, she'd nod once told about making posters. She wasn't the best artist out there, but it shouldn't be too hard, right?

Once the upper classman left she turned to look at Aria. Rubbing the back of her head she tried to think of something to say. "So, uh, see you around?" She muttered. Internally wincing at how uncool that was, the somewhat stoic girl gently cleared her throat, "I mean, as in, see you tomorrow." She corrected herself.

The poor girl named Miyako cried, ignoring the stares and mutters of students around her. All she wanted right now was to go home and figure herself out but she knew she can't do that. She still had to wait for her cousin since she knew Satoshi will be worried if she suddenly disappears without him knowing.

"I.. I wanna go home.." she cried when a senior asked her if she's alright.

Just then arms pulled her close and Miyako didn't have to guess to know who it is. It was none other than Satoshi of course but upon letting her eyes gaze upon his, she realized it was Phoenix.

Immediately, Miyako wanted to pull away in fear that he'll know what's going on with her. She can't let him know she's starting to lose Charm! She also can't let him know that she's starting to doubt who she really is!

As Phoenix gave her the cards, Miyako hesitated to take it. She could feel the power of the cards getting weaker and in due time if she continues being like this, she knew the cards will lose its power and she will lose Monstre Charmant all together.

Do you really want that to happen? a small voice whispered Do you really want to lose a part of you? To lose your knights?

To be honest, Miyako doesn't know the answer to that yet. All she knows is that she need to pull herself together right now.

Miyako then took the stack of cards, carefully putting it inside her pocket before wiping her tears and stopping her sobs Phoenix is right. They must prepare for a new chapter. Although I feel like I've lost myself and my purpose, that doesn't mean I should drag Phoenix with me. My problems are my problems alone and.. I'm fine with that

The black haired girl then forced a small smile and pretended that everything is okay. She stood up and dusted her skirt, before speaking to the sun god in front of her. "Forgive me. You shouldn't have seen me in such a weak state."

"So um, what happened? Do you have any news about Meiko?"

Almost immediately after introducing himself, Satori was finding himself with an absolute earful. The girl who had stepped in beside him was now giving him hell and more, all for stepping it with his guns and nothing else. Satori immediately looked away from the verbal onslaught. They weren't just nerf guns, they were his treasures that had helped him stop countless bullies from hurting him back in the middle school. They were his confidence, his everything, and she was just insulting them like he were a little boy with nothing more than a toy. She was telling him he was stupid, worthless. A liability. He clenched his hands into small fists, doing all he could to dissuade the allegations that he was dumb or simply had a deathwish. He knew he had to step in...why couldn't she understand it?

Who did this girl think she was? Interfering in what was to be a riveting match, then immediately berating him for having the sense of honor to step in the first place? Sure, the fight had been called off on account of...interference, for lack of a better word, but now HE was the one being delivered ire for this? He wanted to simply blast her with one shot and be done with it, but with so many faces watching, that would be bad for business. He was a man of balance; he couldn't let his emotions get in the way of his decisions, lest he inadvertently force the battle to one side or the other. So instead, he gathered his emotions together and put on a bland face, turning back to her to spy the child he was protecting apparently checking her temperature? Perhaps they were of a like mind; this girl obviously had no idea what she was going on about.

Satori stared down the girl who dressed him down, and shook his head. "I had to do something....I wasn't going to leave this student all alone to face them. I've been where he was...and I know how much it hurts to be bullied." He placed his pistol back in its holster. "At least I did more than all the others..." He referred to the bystanders who had been expecting a fight. Speaking of, he glanced to the girl who spoke of asking for help next time. "Well, hopefully they learned a lesson, but the more people to help, the better." He preferred to work alone, but his shot had failed on the bully...perhaps the high school had stronger challenges ahead for him. Besides coursework, of course.

Kona threw her hands up in the air, exasperrated. "Fine, have it your way, get the crap kicked out of you, just don't expect to get rescued." She turned away from the boy on her heel. What an absolute idiot, no sense of self preservation at all. No where's that underclassmen, at least I should make sure they are alright... She didn't have to look very far, as she turned away from the boy, she looked smack dab at them. Up close to her, casually sticking his hand up to feel her forehead as if checking for some kind of fever. She blinked once. Twice. Then her scolding turned to him. "You. You're not getting away from an earful either." She put one hand on her hip and poked him in the chest with the index finger of the other. "That was an incredibly stupid move, deciding to fight with those three. If you had gotten caught up with them, who knows what they would have done to you. You could have been killed or worse." Her look was disapproving. "Next time you get in a situation where three highschoolers are looking at beating you up, run away. Otherwise you'll just get hurt." She moved her hand to point at Satori. "If you don't next time, the likes of him might stupidly step in and try and save you. All that happens then is two people end up getting beaten up." Her gaze was piercing as she stared at him in the eyes. "Alright?"

Aito Fujimoto

Aito was at a loss for words, not sure what to make of the situation... Much less what to do.

Instinctively, he was already beginning to step backwards, as if intending to disappear into the crowd, seeing the earfull an older boy was already getting from the girl that had stepped in to help them.

It didn't help that he had made his chuuni complex quite obvious to most observers in the immediate area.

At least it seemed that the girl he had previous thought was sick was okay, albeit still acting very strangely, especially when someone who he assumed was her friend covered her mouth and pinned her to the ground.

Really, he couldn't even begin to understand what was happening, but it was making him more and more nervous by the moment.

Seeing Kona still berating Satori, he took it as his cue to get out of here while he still could... However, unfortunately... He had already drawn attention to himself with his motion earlier... Intentional or not.

Caught like a deer in headlights, he was already backing away as she turned back to scold Satori.

He was usually pretty discreet about his chuuni complex, but then again... This was also the first time he had felt like he was backed into a corner like that. All the same, now that he was back to his normal self, he didn't look as fearless as he was before, in fact there was evidently a large contrast between his behavior then, and now...

Phoenix (Satoshi Maruyama's Chuunibyou) speaks with Miyako Matsuoka and heads to the shoe lockers

"Nonsense," Phoenix shook his head and gently lead the way. "I should have, and it's good that I did so I know what to do."

For a moment, he looked around and walked on to the shoe lockers with Miyako.

"She's more formidable than I initially took her for." Phoenix spoke in a low voice as he walked, careful not to be overheard. "She not only has physical strength but a capacity to do battle strategies under pressure. And her companion is..."

He briefly remembered the two laughing and being quite physical with each other.

"Suffice it to say that her companion is quite loyal to her." He tilted his head. "But I cannot remain. Satoshi must take care of you."

In a blink, the mundane high school boy Satoshi looked around. "Oh. I think I forgot my bag."

---Series of Self-Afflictions---

As the upperclassmen went on with the meeting, Aria listened intently to what they said. She was honestly super excited to have finally made the first step to being part of a social group again, enough that she wasn't putting any thought forward and let herself be swept along by the moment. As such, her eyes gleamed while she wore a near-beaming smile on her face as she enjoyed sitting in the classroom with her peer and upperclassmen. The fact that the club was one where she could fully express her love for books was what really made this all exciting enough for her to smile so brightly, and she couldn't wait to get started.

When the end of the meeting came and Shiori spoke of advertisement posters, she nodded happily in response. She wasn't particularly confident in her art per se, but she had a lot of creative ideas basing around her own personal interests and had begun making smaller drawings in one of her notebooks ever since creating her persona as Skadiya so she knew that she at least wasn't terrible at low detail sketches.

Speaking of which... It was at this moment that the albino girl realized that she had gone all day without a mention of her godliness or her quest, and once this hit her she completely froze up; her face was stuck in the same expression with blank eyes and she had become unresponsive. It took a few moments before she realized that the upperclassmen had left already and her peer had been talking to her. This made her snap back to attention and she fumbled with her words for a moment.

"Oh- ah! Yes; I look forward to our cooperation... uh..." She then remembered once more that she didn't know the name of the only other first year in the club, and she became overcome with embarrassment and guilt. "I-I'm sorry, I forgot introductions! I-I'm Sakai Aria, first year class A. It's nice to meet you!" She gave the girl a bow, her face straining a smile of embarrassment as she looked at the floor.

"Ah yes, the night sky. I always love to spread my wings in such a fine night, it helps me think," she said as she sat down at the table and listened to Akemi. Kazami couldn't help but laugh a pure laugh. Creator of dreams, night, and darkness? Yes, that sounded about right, though she had forgotten some of those powers, being in this mortal body. Ah well, at least the other girl knew of her greatness. Her expression remained cheery as she put the tips of her fingers together, making a tent with her hands. "Hm, now, where to start...?"

In her mind's eye, Nyx was gazing at Vermillion with a soft smile on her face, full of joy from the previous comment. As the chatter of beings happened around them, she kept her gaze focused intently on Vermillion's eyes, doing a little soul searching. She felt the power this one held, just by looking into her eyes, yet there was something else, something dark. But what? Her eyes momentarily flickered to Efialtis as she gave him a curt nod, feeling his smoldering gaze on her. While he said nothing, it was clear he was judging her every action. Best be careful, lest she awoke his wrath. "As of now, the Gathering of the Lost Ones has gained...some traction," she said slowly, still keeping her eyes on Vermillion's eyes, "While I haven't been to what the humans call classes, my trials so to speak, I have been around. Watching. Waiting. And already the facility is abuzz with rumors of the Gathering of the Lost Ones. However, that won't be enough. If I am to gain more power, they would need to become followers, not just gossipers who spread rumors of this Gathering. And, unfortunately, I can't do a thing because of... Well, what the students call Mr. Fukuyama. Devilish being, full of thunder and uncontrollable fire. However, I still have hope, for I have you. Which brings me to my request..." Her gaze seemed to harden as she regarded the queen before her. "I want you to help me recruit. You don't have to talk to people, just create sigils and draw them to me. I can explain the rest, should they come. But if you do decide to talk to others, then all the better. Remember, I am weak as I am now, so I can't do much, but I most certainly can rely on one who continues to have great power, such as you." Her gaze flickered to Efialtis, once more feeling his dark gaze on her. Already she was getting uncomfortable just by looking at him, so she focused on Vermillion. "So? Would this proposition be alright?"

Kazami broke away her gaze as her bowl of ramen was placed before her, eyes lighting up. "Ah, the feast has come! Oh my, it continues to have such a lovely smell, no doubt that they have done their duty and continued to make it their finest," she purred as she broke her chopsticks and dug right in. She no longer looked ladylike slurping down her noodles as fast as she could, let alone like a goddess. But she was ignorant to that fact, instead blissfully just eating her noodles with a happy expression on her face, almost forgetting that Akemi was before her. And yet, a part of her was somewhat tense as she waited for the queen's answer, hoping that the outcome would be good. If she was too forward with her request, she'll know and would apologize for it.

Vermillion began taking notes as the Goddess spoke. She glanced over occasionally at Efialtis acknowledging his hostile aura towards the girl.
He really worries too much... she thought as she continued to listen to Nyx intently. Akemi continued to glance around the room continuing to feel overwhelming anxiety of others. She shook her head a bit and continued to scribble in her book as she listened.

"I could attempt to gather others...I'm not sure anyone would listen, but I could attempt." Vermillion flipped through the pages to find something relevant to gathering magical beings. "Hm... Maybe I can gather the items necessary for such a sigil. Just a simple scribble isn't going to gather people."

The girl continued to look through her book until she could smell the scent of her meal. "Ah---" She closed her book and pushed it aside and gazed down at the bowl. "Ah....~" Breaking her chopsticks in half she quickly picked a piece of mochi from her bowl and gulped it down. It took her a moment, but the girl acknowledged her unladylike behaviour and quickly wiped her mouth off. "Ah, sorry...heh..I'll work on something once I get home."

Meiko Tanaka (with Hitomi Ikeda) speaks with Aito Fujimoto, later addresses both Kona Omari and Satori Adachi

Exchanging looks with Hitomi from the outburst of one of the freshmen, Meiko came closer to one of them, the boy who seemed a little lost.

"I'm guessing...you don't always do this kind of thing." Meiko gestured vaguely to the group. "But that was pretty brave. Just...hey." Meiko waved to the other two students who didn't seem to be paying attention. "You have the right idea. Standing up to bullies. But the Kurushio aren't..."

She paused, eyeing the guns that one boy put away, "...they aren't few." Meiko settled for that. "Alright? Anyway, I'm Tanaka. This is Ikeda. We're both from Karate club...if you were at the assembly earlier, you'd have seen us. You know where to find us if they come after you."

They might, she thought as she glanced at Hitomi.

"Anyway, I'll see you all. You ought to go home." She took Hitomi by the hand and hurried along.

"You know it too...Kurushio gang aren't really...opposed to beating up kids." Meiko said to Hitomi. "And they hate getting embarrassed like that."

By this point, the courtyard had nearly cleared out, not many students felt it a good idea to stick around after what happened, especially those that noticed and realized who the mysterious girls that jumped in to make a grand interference were. It didn't take much deduction skills to realize that the two girls who ahd been interacting very closely had a powerful reputation, and most of the student body preferred to stay away from their bad side if they could help it. Hitomi, one of the aforementioned girls, payed the other students no mind despite all this; her mind was focused on something else entirely.

As she stood lost in thought, she felt a strong yet gentle hand clasp hers and drag her off. Upon being led away by the other girl that had interfered with her, Meiko, she quickly abandoned her train of thought without a second glance. "Don't worry Meimei! I'm sure they won't be acting up too much; Fukuyama-sensei can be really scary when he gets mad... SO I'VE HEARD!" Hitomi added the last part as if trying to cover something up (very poorly), but continued before it could be verbally addressed; "Anyways, they've been stacking up on his tolerance, so I'm sure by now he's like a fuming demon! Besides, we'll be around to step in if they even try anything again." With that final comment, the girl hugged her friend's arm with a smile as the two walked off for home.

It was early morning on a Friday a few weeks after Club Week. As the end of the month drew near, clubs were putting together all of their best efforts to draw in any straggling new students to join. Various club posters were plastered around the school notice boards advertising clubs from athletic teams to literary clubs or home ec clubs. With all the club entries to file through, as well as the various issues that always come with the coming of the new school year, the student council naturally had their hands full. Even so, this morning Vice-President Mikami was standing in front of the school gate running a surprise routine inspection to confirm that each student was wearing their uniform properly and not bringing unnecessary items onto school grounds. She was also dead set on finally catching the 2nd year student that had been escaping punishment all this time for interrupting the club week assembly, despite not been absent to her classes. How this was possible was beyond her understanding, but Manami knew that it was only a matter of time before she'd be able to catch the girl.

As students passed by and entered the grounds, Manami's eyes scanned over the masses. Occasionally she'd stop some students to correct their uniforms or check that they didn't have anything in their bags that didn't belong at school. So far the morning seemed to be going fine, aside from the mysterious posters that had been getting posted everywhere as of late for a group that was not approved to do so. These posters had, once again, shown up all over the school overnight, including at places where posters were not authorized to be posted to begin with, and since they could not track down the source of the posters it became the student council's job to clean them up on top of everything else they had to do. Manami had no doubt in her mind that the girl from club week was responsible, but lacked the evidence to convict her so she usually kept that thought to herself. The day had only just begun, so she cleared her mind and went back to focusing on observations. Meanwhile inside the school, all of the clubs that held morning meetups, particularly the sports clubs, were finishing up their meetings and getting ready for class, and all of the school teachers were also gathering their materials for homeroom.

Nariko was walking alone, taking in the view of the trees at this time of year. While she had originally walked with her best friend on the way to school, now it was just a chore with the way she had been acting. She missed the days when they could be together and talk about their adventures, both the good and the bad. She missed them so, so much. With a sigh, she rubbed her hands together absentmindedly as she looked for something, anything, to stir her imagination. What she needed was a distraction, something to get her going- Then she spotted the Vice President and tensed. Uh oh.

In her mind's eye, Kage narrowed his red, red eyes at the mage, one of the most powerful in the council that ruled the realm he was going to. He didn't know what to think, why was she out here, watching over everyone with disdain like commoners? What was she plotting? She had never shown interest in the common folk before, but now... She mustn't know who I am, if her magic is that powerful, he thought to himself as he braced himself for the coming spell she would use on him, a detection spell that might hint at his true nature. He couldn't allow that, there had to be something that he could do to hide it. But what? He thought for a moment before placing a hand on his heart. "Shadows, consume me! Come forth and feast!" he whispered as he placed a hand on the wall, a barrier to the other realm, "Hidden Shadows!" He could feel his power draining as he used this move, hoping it would be enough to hide his true nature. With that done, he slunk forward, intent on sneaking past the girl.

Nariko had flipped up the hoodie of her jacket as she prepared to meet the Vice President. Gaze determined, her brown eyes searched for an opening to sneak past as she moved forward, intent on getting past this obstacle. She was almost to the other realm, the school, she was so, so close! But would her move be enough to deter this mage? She didn't know. With a huff, she walked forward towards the Vice President with hope in her eyes. Please get past, she chanted mentally, Please get past...

~*~

Kazami looked up at the tree that was stretched high, high enough that the branches were peeking out onto the other side of the wall. With a huff, she began to climb the tree, mumbling something about doing things the hard way now that she was a wanted criminal in the eyes of the student council. Oh yes, she had been doing this for quite some time, scouting out the perfect things to get to the other side whenever she needed it. She found several trees to suit her, along with a few places she could easily slip past the security through. Really, it was no match for the Empress of Darkness to find places to easily slip by, after all, she did have some power when it was nighttime, the time that she scouted for ways to get in and out of the school. With a chuckle, she climbed the tree before leaping down onto the other side with a grin. Well, that was easy.

In her mind's eyes, Nyx lighted down onto the cursed yard that was this entire place, teeming with magic that sickened her. They certainly were taking up measures to make sure she didn't get any followers, but she was taking care of that with what little power and followers she had. Now she just had to make it to her destination in order to complete the day's cycle. With a huff, she pulled out a cigarette and began to smoke it, blowing a light cloud before placing it back in her mouth and moving forward. None had probably saw her get on the other side, but she couldn't be too sure. Every now and then, she would glance back to see if anyone had come, but so far it seemed fine? She wasn't sure. Either way, she was almost to her destination and she had to lie low for a bit once she reached it.

Kazami was now in her classroom, having moved rather fast despite only walking as fast as she could. She made sure to act normal and eat her pocky once she was inside, knowing that her "cigarette" wouldn't be allowed once she had reached her class. She quietly made her way to the seat and sat down, intent on taking out a notebook and doing some sketches inside. Magic runes full of ancient power, spells, designs for the Queen of the Underworld to ask about, all of it was in her notebook and she was rather pleased with the progress. Things were coming along alright, in her opinion. Without paying much attention to the front, she began to doodle in the notebook, her brows furrowed in concentration.

---Running Interference---

Ever since Aria had joined the Reading & Literature Club she had been fairly occupied with its activities, but being that she had finally found a place where she felt somewhat at home she couldn't help herself. The thought of talking with others in length about various books and genres excited her, but despite that sentiment she still struggled to break out of her shell and actually speak up. Of course, since she had introduced herself as Aria here she did her best to avoid speaking as Skadiya, which also meant she had a harder time conversing overall.

This wasn't the only front on which she was having trouble; she had also been growing more distant with her first friend. She greatly treasured Nariko for befriending her, but the girl was always expecting new stories of fable and adventure every time they met, and Aria didn't have the heart to admit that she had run out of original ideas. Having grown up without many friends she only had the various books she had read to go off of, but because of the nature of her persona not all of those stories would match up so it wasn't long before she began avoiding the question. This eventually created a rift in their interactions, and Nariko seemed to be avoiding her now. This all weighed heavily on her chest as she walked to school each day, and today was no exception.

As the albino girl heaved another heavy sigh, she approached the school gate without noticing the student council vice president approaching her with a fierce glare. When she was about to cross the gate threshold, the vice president spoke up and stopped her in her tracks.

"Eep!" she let slip out, before realizing who had broken her from her thoughts. M-Mikami-senpai?! What could be wrong? She wondered this silently to herself, and almost as if having read her mind the Vice President pointed out that her uniform tie was loose and also questioned her of the necessity of her parasol while quoting the weather forecast not calling for rain.

"O-oh! My apologies, Vice-President Mikami-senpai, I'll fix my necktie right now." As she did so, she couldn't help but wonder how she could have made it so far without tightening it already. Maybe how hectic everything's getting is getting to me? After she finished adjusting her tie, she cleared her throat nervously to answer the question about her parasol. "Y-yes ma'am, I have a medical condition and if I don't have shade from the sun I tend to faint a lot..." she hoped that just her explanation would be enough, but Mikami-senpai wouldn't let her go so easily. She began digging in her bag for her doctor's note, and out of the corner of her eye she noticed a familiar hooded figure sneaking through the school gate. Nariko? ...

Akemi lazily drug her feet through the mass of teenagers heading towards their respective homerooms. She yawned and looked up towards the sun, one eye closed as she ran a hand through her messy, crimson hair. "I shouldn't have stayed up so late... Ah, at least Senpai should be at least happy with some of the drawings I gave her before I left...I'll have to give her the rest."

Through her mind's eye, Vermillion confidently walked through the crowd of humans, gazing at the morning sun. "Ah...I wish the night would come back.." She then glanced at her bag and grinned, "I hope the Goddess appreciates my help. I'm sure she will." Vermillion closed her eyes for a moment as she listened carefully for the morning breeze. She then took a deep breath and stopped for a bit. "I'll just let time stop for a bit..." Vermillion then looked down and noticed how sloppy her uniform appeared despite vaguely remembering that she took good care of her appearance. "Ah. My ribbon is crooked."

Suddenly, Akemi had snapped out of her delusion and had remembered very clearly that her uniform was never ironed and that she had always struggled with tying her ribbon. "Oh. Yeah." Akemi looked towards the distance as students continued to walk past her. "I've never had that much care for my appearance anyways. Just staying in the shadow was most important...but now..." She looked down at her crooked ribbon again. "....." Akemi's face suddenly bright red. "Definitely not! That's definitely not a scenario that could definitely happen! ...Ehe..." Akemi laughed nervously and shook her head. "Not today!" She assured herself and dashed to her homeroom.

Another Friday, another slog through school before the weekend. Satori trudged down the path to school, musing to himself about the day. Robotics Club might have been the only club that didn't meet on Fridays-they met on Wednesday instead, which meant a lot of the students were already inside. He knew the bell would ring soon, but he couldn't work up the energy to move any faster today. It was just that kind of day...where thoughts weigh heavily on the mind and keep one's spirits anchored to the ground. The thought today was that very few students were intimidated by his guns anymore. They all seemed to ignore him or give him odd looks, like he was one of the strange students to be ignored. So much different than last year. Had he lost his touch, or was this just a snag, since nobody knew him quite yet? He'd have to try it again sometime...perhaps with a few new twists. Maybe keeping them loaded might help matters a little.

He glanced up as the gate to school approached, noticing something extremely disturbing towards the school entrance-that was Vice President Mikami, who looked like she was performing a uniform inspection! Crud, this was not good-his Nerf guns were most definitely not up to code, no matter how he explained their function. He was powerless without them-couldn't become Masamune, couldn't protect himself from danger-but none of that would matter in the name of the school code. He froze in his tracks, pressing his back to a tree just outside the school gate, doing his best to keep himself hidden.

He waited a few minutes for an opportunity to pass by, and was luckily granted one; the Vice President had spotted a parasol-carrying student and immediately engaged with her, leaving her distracted as she questioned the validity of its existence. Moving as silently as possible, Satori slipped in with a group of second-year students and crept past the incensed school authority, making it onto school grounds and letting out a sigh of relief. He wasn't in the clear yet, though-the bell was going to be ringing shortly, and if Mikami were to turn around, she'd for sure be able to spot the gun-toting boy. He broke for the entrance, praying that even if he were seen, he could lose and pursuers in the hallways as he made his way to homeroom.

Miyako

Frustrated Princess

After Miyako heard the news from Phoenix, a sigh escaped her lips. It seems it would be best to leave Meiko for now. After all, it would be far too dangerous to stick around. I still don't know if she works for the Red Queen or not.. and since I recently lost my knights so I think it would be best to avoid her. Who knows what that girl is up to

As she walked beside Satoshi and accompanied him to get his bag, realization dawned on her. Wait.. That brown haired girl has a loyal servant? Then that could only mean-

Miyako quickly bit her tongue to stop herself from spilling the beans to Satoshi. She cannot let him know that she thinks Meiko is the Red Queen! Nor let him know that she lost her knights and can't do anything to protect herself. I.. I have to figure this out first. Until I have my knights, I can't tell Satoshi any of this

Thus, this began Miyako's endless journey of trying to communicate with her cards and summoning her knights late at nightand not sleeping until morning in hopes she'll get one of her knights to talk.

A couple of days had passed and to Miyako's surprise it was already Friday. As usual, she was on her way to school feeling sleepy and frustrated. Her hair was a mess, her uniform was not ironed properly but she couldn't care less. Those goddamn cards were still silent! Also, she still can't feel any magic coursing through her veins. I also think Satoshi is starting to get suspicious. What's worse is that goddamn brunette could be the Red Queen and could attack me any moment It was beyond maddening! Miyako was starting to feel like she's been thrown inside a pressure cooker and any minute she might blow.

Frowning to herself and ignoring the students around her as she entered the school gates, Miyako was about to walk faster when suddenly a flyer flew and smacked her right in the face. Unable to bear it anymore she screamed.

"AHHHHHHHHH!"
she bellowed out fo frustration, quickly taking the flyer off of her face "STOP MAKING ME MAD!! Stupid-" She was planning on crumpling the poster but stopped upon seeing what's written. "Chu-, Chounibo? Chunibyo? ugh.."

Passing the flyer towards Satoshi, she huffed "Read this flyer and tell me what it is"
