Murasakikacho

A beautiful courtesan who works in the red light district entertaining customers. She's not especially good at things like playing shamisen and she's spilled sake on more than one patron but her sweet, bold, playful nature makes her a perennial favorite anyway. Her mannerisms and way of speaking captivate men with its contrast of old-fashioned word choice and elegant, educated diction and surprisingly forward vocabulary and almost masculine audacity.

Name: 久松 都留(Hisamatsu Tsuru)
While admired for his beautiful and demure appearance, his personality doesn't match it in the least. If he keeps his mouth shut long enough, he can come off as aloof and graceful - even elegant. The minute that you see the crooked half-smile or he gets that glint in his eye, though, it's almost a sure bet that he's about to ruin that image by saying something boisterous, bawdy, absurd, or all of the above.

今井種 (Imai Tane)
In the middle of the night on a day with no sun as rain pattered on deserted roads and rolled down the tiled roofs of the buildings in town, a slender man dressed in sumptuous black and silver robes entered an inn in Kyoto. The keeper of the inn was busy and only mildly interested in the well-dressed patron. That was until the man shook the drenched veil of hair from his face and demanded to be shown to Shinsengumi headquarters. Upon asking for his name, the man claimed to be called Imai Tane - but such a name doesn't fit the imperious and finely clothed man and only added to the incredulity of the innkeep.
