Here is a skeleton sheet for your character! Be as descriptive as you'd like and be sure to leave certain details out if it feels so necessary *cough*.

Name:

Age: (Between the ages of 19-24. Diablo particularly liked the children aged between six and eight)

Gender:

Appearance(Real photo please! And it would be appreciated if a written description was given as well.):

Paper Doll (Diablo had given each one of his victims a paper doll, nearly identical to the one that he had stolen from them. The Killigan family reported this phenomena briefly after Diablo's confession, but the families soon forgot about the details. Each child should have a paper doll, either describe it's patten and fabric or if possible find a picture)

Personality:

History(This does not need to be the character's true history. This should be their proclamation as to what happened before and after Diablo had taken them):

Other: (Anything else? Did the character have a defining feature that would identify them? Did they learn how to play music as a child and somehow forgot later on? Anything goes!)

Citizens can range from crazy old coots to young rebellious children. The citizens of Tophet should have been there for a good period of time to be truly accepted by the community, and most families are born there or are sprouted from earlier families. Each citizen has some dirt on them, whether they know it or not, and could have or could have not had any relation to the victims or Diablo. It is expected they at least know the events that occurred.

Name: Mortimer Aaron Corson

Age: 22

Gender: Male

Mortimer stands at 6'4, with a body of a runner, muscular but not incredibly bulky. He has a small scruff, and a square jawline. His hair is kept and a light brown, always short and tidy. He has coffee colored eyes, which tend to accompany a smile along his demeanor. His general appearance is well kept and professional, and he tends to wear clothing that covers a majority of his body, even in the heat of summer. The reason behind this is the variety of scars that cover his body. One scar rests upon his back, tracing from his right shoulder down to the small of his back. Another traces from his elbow down to his wrist, several lie across his stomach, and one defining scar rests along his cheek, which runs from his right temple down to his left cheek. Mortimer also has one more defining feature, a tattoo resting along his right wrist. It is a cross and a name, Seta.

The doll Mortimer kept with him came from his favorite shirt, which he had lost during his time at Diablo's. The doll itself is crude and small compared to some of the others, and is crinkled now. Mortimer uses it as stress relief, squeezing it and almost ripping at it when he needs to.

Personality: Mortimer is a genuinely kind man, is very polite, and rather quiet. He used to be rather shy, but as he matured he used his silence as a redirect for emotions or possible stresses. He is very calm and orderly almost to an obsessive fault. He is overprotective of those he chooses to befriend, and while he enjoys socializing with a majority of people around him, he finds trust and prosperity within a small number of people. He is cheery, although well contained when it comes to emotions or possible out lash. Mortimer is rather courageous, putting himself into situations that could be threatening to his own mental and physical health for the purpose of others. Behind it all, he is timid, easily frightened, and has small panic attacks depending on the situation he could be in. Large crowds frighten him, men older than him tend to set him on edge, and physical contact without awareness or permission can cause anxiety. He is a rather patient person when someone asks permission to maintain physical contact, and is more than willing to comfort an individual. Mortimer tends to place a large amount of responsibility onto his shoulders, and figures with enough common sense and strong will, he can accomplish any goal he has put into place. Mortimer is stubborn as well, but is more than willing to look at opinions that contradict his own. He loves to learn new subjects, and often considered teaching children.

History: Mortimer's history is a little blurry to him. He was born in Tophet to a young, happy couple by the names of Abigail and Matthew Corson. Mortimer's little family was quiet, and had been descended from Quaker outcasts. He had been a good child due to his upbringing, and rarely ever got into trouble. He was well liked in his elementary school, he enjoyed reading, writing and addition, and was hoping to learn how to play soccer. When he was seven years old, Mortimer had been a pretty active child and enjoyed social events such as town gatherings and celebrations. Begrudgingly, his mother had taken him to the fourth of July celebration, and had told him to stay right by her side. His mother, ever fearful of her child's possible disappearance, made sure that he was always beside her. The problem became that when the fireworks started, the first firework had malfunctioned, and a small fire had started near the launch site. Mortimer saw this, and he panicked before his mother could react. He attempted to pull her in the opposite direction, and before he knew it, he got lost in a crowd of people. Mortimer was grabbed, but more than nine witnesses came forward to identify the scenario in which the boy was taken. The witnesses claimed they saw Mortimer struggling against his assailant, before being thrown into a black car. However, the true case was that Mortimer was hauled off from the crowd, and was spotted outside the celebration.

Mortimer's few memories retained from his abductor's house consisted mainly of a torn up mattress, a small Swiss army knife cutting his skin, and the doll. Mortimer, much to his own surprise, was released nearly after one week of being abducted. He was blindfolded, taken to a secondary location, and was left on the porch of a woman, who nearly fainted at the sight of the bleeding child. Mortimer does not remember much of the first few days, but he was aware of two things. He was no longer in New Hampshire, and if what the man had said was true, if he went back, his mother was going to die. Traumatized, Mortimer attempted to explain his situation to the woman, but due to stress and physical harm, his memory fleeted and panics about his situation grew. He knew something worse had happened within the house he was at, but his mind had desperately attempted to block out what it could.

The woman, a nurse by the name of Lana Sweets, took in Mortimer and attempted to nurse him back to health. It became apparent that, after a few months of her care, he was still in no state of mind to discuss what had happened. Fearful for his mother's life, Mortimer remained silent, and accepted Lana's care for a few years. Growing up in Bangor, Maine, Mortimer began to piece certain parts back together. He was ashamed of what had happened within the house, and swore that he couldn't ever face his family again. Mortimer went to several therapists, and despite not fully admitting to what happened, he became sufficient in school work, was able to get a job at sixteen years old, and even tutored middle schoolers for fun.

Lana finally managed to break Mortimer when he was nineteen years old, and desperately attempted to convince him to go back to his family. When Mortimer refused, Lana attempted to gain contact, but realized that Tophet New Hampshire was an almost invisible town on the maps. Lana became pregnant when Mortimer was twenty one, and died in childbirth eight months later. Mortimer vowed to take care of the child, a baby girl he named Seta. As a final act of respect for Lana, Mortimer decided to go back to Tophet, hoping to reconnect with family and bestow his parent's a new family member for little Seta.

Name: Reginald Bullock

K4D7360-c_cu2-cropix450.jpeg

Age: 20

Gender: Male

Appearance: Reggie stands at a height of 5'10" and weighs 175 lbs. He sports a very lean and athletic build with spiky ginger hair and dark brown eyes. He also has a tattooed quote resting just below his navel, which reads "I am enough". He usually dresses with an immaculate touch and prefers the colors of his outfit to be harmonious. Finally, he speaks in a thick British accent.

Paper Doll: Reggie's doll was crafted from the fabric of Reggie's ballet shoes, which are a solid velvet black. The material is a tad worn, but still in good condition because he strangely treasured the doll. It didn't share any care or affection for it, but an unwilling attachment.

kids_wear_moi_split_sole_black_1024x1024.jpg

Personality: Reggie is that classic jerk in every modern situation.

His rudeness, manipulative nature, thirst to get people angry, and impishness makes him a perfect candidate for it. Nonetheless, he does have a life outside of making people miserable; his passion is dance, though he's not quite sure how he wants to implement it into his future.

Flirtatious and hot-headed are two more huge parts of his personality. He's like flipping a coin; you'll either be on the receiving end of his charm or scathing commentary. It's all up to chance and impulse, really.

His fears include feeling unwanted or worthless, abandonment, and being ignored.

ha.gif

History: Reggie's birth was unplanned, especially since he was a result of rape.

Reggie's parents, Kendell and Raymond Bullock, struggled accepting Reggie's existence. There were several instances in which they considered abortion before his birth and more heinous acts after. However, Kendell couldn't find it within herself to end the child's life, despite Raymond constantly pushing for it. The situation grew worse as the years passed, as Reggie was practically the spitting image of Kendell's rapist even at an early age. His fiery locks, pale skin, brown eyes, and freckles were horrifically reminiscent of the trauma. As a result, Kendell made sure that he was physically healthy, but that was where the parenting ended.

Carrying the Bullock name meant preserving their prestige, so they couldn't afford to let this scandalous information leak out into the public. Reggie was banned from stepping outside of the house and had very minimal contact with others, starving the child of proper social skills and freedom. He grew to be a very unstable child, often flip-flopping from rude and aggressive to cold and judgmental. His only moment of peace was found in his private ballet lessons, though Raymond didn't particularly like it. Reggie interacted with Raymond more with Kendell, as the fear that shone in her eyes was too much for the boy to handle and irked him beyond compare. At the very least, Raymond's blatant dislike was honest and no matter the nature of the news, Reggie could comprehend it better.

One day, the parents slipped and the news of their child started spreading whispers and rumors throughout Tophet. This eventually reaches the ears of press, who were ravenous to get their hands on such a ground-breaking story. Men and cameras were lurking around every corner and it reached the point of where Reggie could no longer step out of his own room. Kendell snapped under the pressure and attempted to smother Reggie in his sleep, but was stopped by Raymond, scolding her for pulling a reckless move. Killing Reggie would only worsen their reputation and feed into the newspaper.

That same night, Reggie tried to escape on a bus leaving Tophet. However, as he waited at the stop with nothing but his dance slippers in hand, a crew of reporters bombarded him, having followed the child from the Bullock household. Reggie fled on foot, the bus completely forgotten. Just as he lost the crowd by sprinting down a deserted back road, the headlights of a black GMC blinded him and there was a blow to the back of his head.

It was during those hellish two weeks that Reggie realized how great his memory was. Not a single instance of pain nor fear escaped his mind and every passing second made his innards grow colder with defeat. He was silent and complacent for most of his time in Diablo's capture and only managed to retain sanity because the tiny space was similar to being locked within his room. Aside from the voices of other children.

When Reggie was released, he was transported by car to a bus stop, ironically enough, and tossed out with nothing but a paper doll and the rags on his back. With no other option, Reggie boarded the bus and though his dirtied appearance earned plenty of concern from the driver and passengers alike, he ignored their questions. The ride lead him to New York, where he fended for himself in the streets for two years. However, he finally came across a saving grace in the form of Phil and Margaret Johnson, wealthy foster parents of Koda and Demi Locklear. They financially supported Reggie and gave him an apartment of his own, although they wanted him to live with the family; Reggie refused to lose the solitude he was so accustomed to.

He attended every single private dance lesson with Koda, bonding with the sweet boy more and more each day until he fell in love with him. They were best friends. And lovers by the age of 16. Midway the second year of them both attending NYU for Liberal Arts and Music (age 20), Koda broke up with Reggie and found love in someone else. Crushed, Reggie drunk himself into a raging stupor and attempted to set Koda's dorm on fire.

giphy.gif

Luckily, the fire was put out before anyone within the dorm building was in serious danger and Reggie didn't realize the error of his ways until the next morning. Full of remorse and confusion, Reggie packed his belongings and set off on the road back to where his identity was (hopefully) still an uncertainty.

Tophet.

Likes: Taunting, Memorization (Legit has the memory of an elephant--borderline photographic), Ballet and Contemporary dancing, and pushing people's buttons.

Dislikes: Awful at expressing his feelings, has no filter whatsoever, very rude and possessive, gets jealous a lot, and insecure.

Other: Has issues concentrating on one thing for extended periods of time (ironically enough, it's because he's caught up in counting things such as signs, the number of words on them, how many letters, how many lines make up each letter, how many syllables, etc. He could be anywhere from 200 to 2,000 before he finally breaks out of it).

Gender: Female

Appearance:

Poppy stands at 5'4 and is of decent build, with a gentle round face that is speckled with countless and numerous freckles. She has pale skin accompanied by shoulder length, curly, dark red hair that tends to bunch up carelessly into her face. She holds it back with a red scrunchie, and will wear a variety of bows upon her head and her neck, all of them various shades of red. She has olive green eyes speckled with grey and a nose with a gentle button. She generally wears colorful dresses and skirts, generally adorned in floral patterns. Her clothing choices tend to reveal her scars and tattoo, which she is fiercely proud of. She has an assortment of scars upon her arms, some diagonal and others are clearly cat scratches. She has a singular tattoo on her wrist, a silhouette of an angel with its wings broken. Her nails tend to be painted light red, and she tends to wear a ladybug necklace.

Poppy's paper doll was ripped from her coloring book that Diablo had stolen from her when she was initially abducted. Poppy takes very good care of it, and when she is stressed will draw within the lines. This has been a more recent occurrence as her desire to return to Tophet has grown stronger. It is adorned in shades of red, blue, and green.

Personality: Poppy is a bit of a spitfire. She speaks her mind, tends to stick her nose into other people's business, and is invested in whatever she sets her mind to. She is a dedicated and hard worker, but she tends to be scatterbrained if the job is not something of interest. She is witty, hardheaded, and smug. She has confidence within her ability to be the best at what she is doing, and she does not let others opinions of her bother her. She is energetic and tends to be positive, liking to socialize even if someone else doesn't want to do it with her. She is the type of person who does not like to be bossed around and will struggle to do things her way. She is not likely to submit to threats, and finds vengeance against a wrongdoer to be humorous. She is somewhat awkward around people her age, but tends to do well with people younger or older than she is. She is rather patient when it comes to her emotions and doesn't always present them. She is intelligent when it comes to observing others and tries to notice small details about a particular person, whether it be their color shirt or the possibility of them owning a concealed weapon. She can be easily excited when she solves a problem and is desperately interested with mysteries. She does not always agree with the law, and will do things her own way if she wishes to solve a 'problem'. She is not afraid to get into trouble, and finds joy in informing others of her survival stories and other conspiracies she holds

History: Poppy was one of the youngest child to Arabella and Joseph Ralph Cornelius Saint-Clair. Within the chaos of her rowdy home, Poppy never quite connected with any of her parents, siblings, grandparents, or cousins. Poppy was rebellious even as a child because of this, and would go play in the mud or swim in her full church gown while her parents were off taking care of the rest of the family. Her father, a private investigator, was horrible at his job, particularly when the Diablo abductions began. Joseph Ralph Cornelius Saint-Clair pointed a finger to several people within the town, all who were cleaner than a whistle. This list of people included a drifter who told children stories, Avi Shapiro(his theory was that the Shapiro's were taking the children off to be raised in a religious home), and unfortunately, the very mayor himself. Joseph Ralph Cornelius Saint-Clair put quite a dent in his relationships with the people in the town, and it became worse when Poppy was abducted from his family car after he insisted on a father-daughter day. Unfortunately, as Joseph Ralph Cornelius Saint-Clair came back, he noticed two things. One, that Poppy, his last child, was gone, and that his car window was broken. His theory? Poppy had been agitated that she was forced to participate within a father daughter day and broke out of the car to escape such a horrid thing. When Joesph Ralph Cornelius Saint-Clair couldn't find her, he panicked and waited four days until he reported. He did not wish to admit his mistake, and even gave his wife Arabelle an excuse as to where Poppy was.

Poppy was not pleased when she was abducted. Having been stolen from the car, she kept a grip upon her coloring book, which Diablo had stolen. Infuriated, Poppy did not listen to a single command Diablo had given her. This resulted in beatings, but, every time he threatened to assault her, her favorite words came into play "Papa always said if I shoved my foot far enough, you'd be a girl!" While Poppy's three weeks at Diablo's had been absolute hell, filled with beatings and threats and barely any food, she found a shining light. She would tell stories to the other children at times, and became absolutely fascinated with Diablo's behavior. She analyzed him, trying to create a story as to why he hurt her. Poppy was actually not released by Diablo. She managed to escape by pure luck, when she ran out the door after hearing that he was off to drop another child far away. She sneaked out, and while she was guilty she couldn't help anyone else, made her way to her own father's house. She knocked for hours, but was shocked when she realized that for once in her young life, no one was home. Poppy, hurt and confused, did the one thing she knew would get her to a better life. She made her way to the main road and attempted to hitchhike. She was picked up by two Tophet's tourists, who she told, quote "Papa abandoned me and I have nowhere to go." Completely oblivious that the little girl was the missing Poppy Saint-Clair, the tourists adopted her and took her to Worcester Massachusetts. She was beyond happy, even if her home wasn't the cleanest in Massachusetts. Her adopted parents, Vanessa and Adam Winters, had been sterile and were more than happy to adopt the little eight year old girl. They raised her well, and Adam, a police officer, taught her how to defend herself and notice when something was wrong with a particular person. Rather than attempting to keep little curious Poppy from investigating horrible cases and having traumatic memories - which her adoptive parents were not aware of- Adam soon became detective by the time Poppy was thirteen and showed her old, closed case files to go over to see if there was anything that could be done. Poppy fell in love with analyzing people's behavior, and wanted to do one thing and one thing only. Be like Adam.

Poppy studied criminal justice in college and was, unfortunately, stopped short from becoming a police officer. Not for anything tragic, but something much more simple. She was suspected of, quote "throwing the victim from her bedroom window four times before contacting the police." Poppy explained the story in total truth, with only a hint of falsehood. Poppy's roommate, a girl who wished to be a writer who went by the name of Dot, had been horribly stalked by a male who shared a philosophy class with Dot. Poppy lured the man to their room, texting him as Dot, and when he came, scolded him and took evidence to suggest that he was, indeed, harassing Dot and was close to physically assaulting her. There was a struggle, and Poppy opened the window and, as she said "threw him out once to protect myself." The truth was, she dragged him back up, and for good measure, dropped him out of the first story window for a second, than a third, than a fourth time. Poppy was pushed out of school, and decided that getting her private investigator's license else where could help her in her criminal justice career. She attempted to convince Dot to travel with her to Chicago, which Dot politely declined. Dot was the first actual person Poppy told about Tophet and about her endeavors with Diablo, for Poppy wished to tell her story within a biography which she trusted Dot to write. Dot recommended that Poppy return to Tophet and cleanse Poppy's family name by doing something once and for all.

Figure out what happened to the rest of the children.

Monday stands at approximately five feet, is thin, and unhealthily pale. She holds herself up and constantly wears heels to make her appear taller. She has shoulder length, curly dark hair that tends to cover her disapproving demeanor and is hard to manage. Her eyes are light blue and tend to express pain that she doesn't dare reveal. She has freckles covering her cheeks, as well as arms and parts of her torso. She has a small, button nose, and a seemingly etched in countenance of concern or disappointment. She has a singular burn mark upon her collarbone and two scars, each one running from each shoulder down to her elbow. Monday does not have any tattoos on her body, but she will write specific words with pen on her arms as therapy, rather than scratching or breaking her skin. Common words include 'vow' and 'lost'. She tends to wear simple clothing, and finds that sweaters and tank tops are the most comfortable.

Paper Doll:

Monday's paper doll was taken from her favorite dress growing up. Diablo had taken taken care when making this doll, and it is almost in perfect condition. Monday keeps it on her at all times as a constant reminder. She treats it with care and generally has a safe space to hide it.

Personality: For what Monique lacks in size or voice, she makes up in personality. She is witty, stubborn, hard headed, sarcastic, rowdy and most importantly, lonely and scarred. She tends to find many people annoying and desperately attempts to protect herself by building up defensive walls. She finds physical touch to be painful, even if it is meant to be comforting. Despite all of this, she is loving beneath it all and finds herself to be an over worrier. She is motherly and will scold someone she cares about if they had done something that could have hurt them in the long run. She is intelligent, although her vocabulary tends to include swearing, Shakespearean insults, and shortened language. Monday, despite it all, has horrible anxiety and has to do a variety of mental rituals to calm her overworking brain. These can include word associations, mental rhyming, counting how many items are in a room, or simply a person's characteristics. Monday attempts to act strong despite all this, and constantly throws herself into situations she knows better than to go into. She is rather sweet if someone else is in pain, and tends to change her cold shell completely if she knows someone needs comfort. She’d willing give up her health for someone else if they truly needed it, even if she’d complain about it later on.

History: Monique was born to a descendent of one of the original town founders, a Jeremiah Goodman. Her mother had been impregnated by an outsider to the town, a tourist who had cheated on his married wife while in Tophet. Monique’s mother, desperate, attempted to get him to stay. This failed miserably, and Monique was born five weeks early. This was due to the stress that her mother was putting herself under, which included partying. Monique’s mother became quite the substance abuser by the time Monique was a baby. One of the only reasons Monique survived was because of her neighbors, who fed her and made sure she was getting social time with other children. Monique’s mother became violent with her by the time she was four, and by the time she was five years old, she was abducted from her own front yard after wandering outside into the warm summer breeze.

Monique was kept in Diablo’s house for nearly four weeks, but she was almost different than the other children. While he did abuse her, he did not sexually harm or humiliate her. He treated her almost as a daughter in his twisted head. Monique remembered little of the ordeal, but one thing did stick out for her. She had a warm meal every night, unlike what her mother attempted to provide to her. After a near month, Diablo had decided he was bored of her and dropped her off in Dover. Blindfolded and dressed neatly in a brand new dress, Monique was received by a foster family by the name of the Brookes. She stayed for at least a year before she was bounced from one place to the next, never speaking of the man who had taken her or what he had done. By the time she was eight years old, a sixteen year old son of the foster parents she was currently with, took pleasure in attempting to drown her in the backyard pool. Sadistic and cold, the boy took all his out lash onto Monday. Monday spoke up against the boy, angry and humiliated, and for her trouble was sent off to yet another foster care. She met two girls her age, a fiery girl named Alice and a gentle, meek girl named Jane. The three girls became inseparable, and Monday was at peace.

Peace was never meant to last in Monday’s life. Alice ran off from the home at age fourteen, her big dream of making it big in Boston over taking all else. Jane and Monday were left on their own, and while Monday loved Jane, Janes own scars were starting to become apparent. Jane had been taken from her family as a toddler because of their drug abuse and had been dumped from one home to the next. Monday and Jane were separated when they were seventeen, and Monday, cursed and bitter, took it upon herself to live on her own. She met a man and began a relationship with him, but it had only grown worse with each passing day. Finally by the time she was nineteen, she cleaned herself up and went on a trip to find her friend Jane. What she found was horrifying, and she knew she wouldn’t be the same. Jane had taken her own life merely hours before Monday had found her, and left a little note. Monday, lost and bitter, decided she had one place left she could go to.

Name: Theona Rose Killigan

7e3e0b5d4d01c7497d7c228333dc89a0.jpg

Age: 21

Gender: Female

Appearance: Theona stands at a height of 5'6" and weighs approximately 155 lbs. Her build is nothing but anger, lean muscle, and sarcasm wrapped in scars from many fights. They're not terribly gruesome, just a few nicks and gashes that never healed over properly. A family of freckles cover her cheeks and stretch over the bridge of her nose, deceiving people into believing that she's harmless (no). She also sports big chocolate eyes and long hair of the same hue that cascades past her shoulders, which is pulled back into a tight ponytail. Her nails are usually painted black or peach at all times; depends on her mood, honestly.

Paper Doll: Theona's paper doll was cut from a piece of wall paper she tore off while throwing fits in Diablo's hiding place. There were specks of blood on it, whether it was hers, another child's, or a mixture of both is a mystery to this day, but they're now a rusted and faded dark maroon. Almost black.

leather-texture-tan-spotted-grungy-old-vintage-wallpaper-5.jpg

Personality: Theona doesn't tend to play well with others. Her temper is explosive and the triggers are difficult to narrow down; it could range from an off-hand comment on Wednesday to discovering a bird dropping on her precious bike. It varies. If you manage to piss her off, then prepare to throw some fists, and the fight will not stop until she wins. It's not to say that she's the strongest person in the world; she knows that there's always someone stronger. However, that doesn't discourage her from coming back until someone's flat on their ass.

Aside from her violent streak, Theona uses that "brute image" to her advantage and put off others from her analytical observation of people and events. She's a smooth liar and rarely tells the truth to people she doesn't trust, opting instead to see how they'll react to certain bits of information and stow the results away for later contemplation. She means nothing malicious by it, but her nasty paranoia and judgmental ways have been ingrained into her ever since she was kidnapped by Diablo. If one manages to get on her good side? Count yourself as extremely lucky.

Theona's hobbies include flirting, tearing up the streets with her bike, racing (legal or illegal, doesn't matter to her), writing, fist fights, and cooking. As far as fears go?

Like hell she would tell you.

tumblr_osucobETXq1wrdxavo2_540.gif

History: Theona can't recall a single thing pertaining to the day she was taken, and memories of being in Diablo's possession are murky. Which she is more than okay with; she's sure that if she dared recall the things that man had done to her, she'd destroy all and anything within her reach. The clearest thing she can recount is how much screaming and furious fighting she had done, and all of the punishments she received in retaliation.

Being quite an unpopular child among the batch, Diablo disposed of her at the doorstep of the crummiest orphanage he could find in Ruston, Louisiana. His decision-making skills proved to be efficient because Theona suffered from constant neglect. She was fed once a day (if she was lucky) and even then she turned it down out of rebellion and hatred. She was quite small for her age, which the older orphans took advantage of, ranging from beatings to verbal insults about her scrawny frame and freckles. However, Theona was never one to back down from a fight, resulting in her developing a tough skin and learning how to take a hit like it's child's play.

Her luck made a 180 once she was adopted at the age of 12. Her fathers, Dimitri Galloway and Hakeem Obasu were extremely patient and supportive of her, rather finding her fiery personality to be wonderful in a harsh world like this. And, sometimes, a little cute (but they never said that to her face). Dimitri worked a family-run restaurant, where Theona spent the day working and learning the ins and outs of gourmet cooking. She was never as magnificent as her Dad, but her skills were nothing to scoff at either. On the other hand, Hakeem worked as a mechanic. Theona loved her Papa's shop the most and enjoyed a simple night of chilling in his garage while watching him work, talking trash about their homophobic neighbor Johnny.

giphy.gif

Though Theona appreciated her Dad's work, she gravitated more towards her Papa's own and learned whatever she could about vehicles--motorcycles especially. On her 18th birthday, she was surprised with her very own bike, which she fondly named Fefe. However, her Papa claimed that she couldn't drive it until she got a motorcycle permit and helped him custom spray paint it. Theona agreed to these conditions, but her rebellious side prompted her to take the bike out for rides on nights when her parents came home late.

A few months in, Theona met Carlos. Just Carlos. He introduced her to the underground world of illegal racing, where he was referred to his nickname Torque. Before Theona knew what happened, she grew addicted to the rush and the money she won only made it worse. Whatever money she brought home was stashed away and saved up to help renovate her Dad's restaurant. There was the usual sore loser that pulled Theona into fights, though she ended them happily with a few bruises and cuts that makeup and a sweater could hide. However, one opponent she raced turned out to be the nephew of a dangerous criminal, who never appreciated losing money. Theona was accused of cheating, but she denied this and refused to give the money back. She went as far as to spit on the nephew's shoe.

A few days later, Theona and Dimitri received frightening news that Hakeem's shop was broken into and trashed. Nothing was left untouched. They found a note left behind, which promised the men of something much worse unless the money was returned and the "rat left town". Instead of taking it seriously, Theona's fathers dismissed it as the work of some young drunk hooligans and she couldn't bring herself to confess.

However, the situation became worse when gunshots were fired through the windows of Dimitri's restaurant. Two bullets were lodged into his shoulder but by pure luck, they missed vital organs. While recovering in the hospital, guilt swallowed Theona whole and she finally told her fathers the truth, understanding if they wanted to disown her for being so reckless and stupid. Their reactions were the opposite; they forgave her as long as she promised to no longer race and get herself involved with criminals, and requested protection from the authorities.

Later that day, Theona left the money in a case on her parents' bed, packed what she could, and left on her motorcycle. She'd rather live alone in a new city than put her family in danger. If she was going anywhere, it might as well be the place she was born.

Likes: Her brother (sometimes), her bike Fefe, high-speeds and racing, watching sappy romance movies (tell anyone and she'll fucking kill you), cooking, and the occasional hot one-night stand.

Dislikes: Overly-timid individuals (she gets impatient with them), anything that blemishes Fefe, cold weather, the quiet, spiders, and cowards.

Other: She'd like to think that she's happy being independent and free, but her obsession with the romance genre speaks volumes. We shall leave it at that.

Theme Song:

Name: Iris Gabrielle "Tater Tot" Du'Monte

grace-victory.jpg

Age: 23

Gender: Female

Appearance: Iris stands at a height of 5'6" and weighs approximately 205 lbs. Her hair is usually seen as a long and cascading drape of curls. Her deep brown eyes meld well with her young face and innocent stare, though she's just as sarcastic as the next person and will verbally slay you until you're nothing but ashes on the ground. Her build is very husky and soft, to the point of where she would be the ultimate snuggle partner.

Personality: If Iris is one thing, she's everywhere. Her mind struggles to stay organized and set on one thing for too long because the energy within her is always threatening to overflow. Some days she's excitable, but most days she's anxious and assumes the worst. Never in people though. She'll always try to see the best in someone all while putting herself down for small things. On a good day, you'll 9 times out of 10 spot her going to town on a video game or spending hours at the studio getting some work done. The only time she's ever aggressive is if someone's self-esteem is being attacked; she'll literally see red and go off on her poor victim until she turns blue.

History: The Du'Montes nowadays are a quiet family in Tophet and tend to avoid the press at all costs. They hate being needlessly dragged into the spotlight.

As far as connections with the city ran, the Du'Montes first came to Tophet as a band of outcast performers and settled there in hopes of gaining attention. Their business didn't exactly boom when the tourist attractions came to Tophet, but it surely helped out their finances by a lot. However, time and societal pressures had weeded out the circus-like acts from the Du'Monte family. Their professions shifted to more reserved forms of entertainment such as music and dance, and even then they were private performances booked by wealthy employers.

Iris, on the other hand, loves drama. She had put on little shows and homemade plays for her family since the day she could walk and talk. The stage is her home. Her eccentric personality warded off most children, though she was best friends with one of the children who were taken by Diablo (never mind her intense crush on that person that still lives to this day). She struggled to recover from the scare and loss, shutting others out and spiraling into the occasional episodes of loneliness and self hate.

image

She battled with anorexia until she was 19. Her family encouraged her to pursue her passion for theater again and work at Tophet Theater, in which the experience proved to be a positive one for her. It gave her a reason to care about herself again and numb a fraction of the pain she suffered from losing her best friend. She filled out and acquired a healthier diet in due time. Her dedication to the theatrical arts earned Iris a spot as Co-Director at Tophet Theater, where she helps to arrange musicals and playwrights.

Role in town: Co-Director at Tophet Theater

Likes: Drama, acting, Super Bear Hugs (special attack), impersonations (good and bad ones), video games, and sweets.

gracie-francesca-victory-gif.gif

Dislikes: Self-hate (when others show it), her body, dull colors, ducks and swans, asparagus, and boredom.

Other: If she doesn't get her way, she will literally cling to you like a koala with the heaviest pout on her face. Don't think she won't do it. She will. As for her anxieties, she has a good handling on them in comparison to the past when it used to be piled on top of her anorexia, but there are many nights in which she wished she had someone to hold her.

Name: Isaiah William Killigan

Age: 28

Gender: Male

Appearance:

Isaiah stands at 6'3 and weighs around one hundred and eighty pounds. He has curly, messy, unkempt brunette hair that accompanies coffee colored eyes. He has a variety of freckles flooded across his face, as well as a singular scar above his left eyebrow. He has a square, defined jawline and is muscular, but not incredibly bulky. He wears respectable clothing and enjoys trench coats in the winter and tighter shirts in the summer. He has a small stubble and large dimples. He does not smile an incredible amount, but if he does it is a full, shining smile that tends to be accompanied by falsehood.

Personality: Don't let this man fool you with his apparent charm, full smile and a gentle handshake. Isaiah is clever, cunning, manipulative, calculating, and always has alternative motives for everything he does. Isaiah's focus in his life is to make sure he gets what he wants, whether that be a woman's affection or a specific amount of money. Isaiah is organized and nearly obsessive compulsive, which can come as a downfall. Items, schedules, even articles must be set a certain way to fit his needs. Isaiah is not necessarily sadistic nor apathetic, he can sympathize with others, particularly with children. However if the person of choice happens to be a grown man foolish enough to believe the words flowing from his mouth, Isaiah would be more than gratified to fool him of his hard earned savings. Isaiah is incredibly creative, his mind cluttered with stories and lies. He does not particularly know how to socialize, but he can use politeness and charm to make his way far enough as to where he can function in a normal society. He is hard to get through, if it is possible for a human being to get through to Isaiah Killigan, he is slightly warmer, humorous, loyal, and, as a bit of a downfall, is over protective. This tends to go to an obsessive point, watching over a companion's every move and isolating them from fellow friends, family members, and other loved ones. He does not mean to be abusive, but for him it is hard to tell the line between necessity and overkill. He has difficulty expressing emotions, including sadness and anger.

History: Isaiah is the oldest child in his family and was not always treated as the favorite. However, he truly grew to love his sister, and, without wanting to admit it in an incredible amount, relied on her and became shy when she was not around. He was ashamed that his friends merely consisted of his small sister and a next door neighbor and his coonhound. Isaiah fell apart the day his little sister went missing. and something within him snapped. Rather than releasing anger, he became cold, distant, and tired. He dropped out of school by the time he was sixteen and turned to alcohol and marijuana. Something within Isaiah changed, however, and it came with a bit of a bang. Isaiah, as he recalls it, became so drunk one night and, as he was at the coastline, on a lower ledge of the cliff, and had fallen off, nearly drowning in the water. The actual story is much more humiliating to Isaiah, and, he is quite scarred by the incident. A tourist woman in town had lured him to the beach and attempted to get him intoxicated. When that worked, she attempted to have intercourse with him. Isaiah declined, hazy and confused, scared as the woman attempted to do so anyway. Isaiah attempted to fight her off, and crawled away, getting swept up in the waves and almost drowning beneath the high tide. It was a miracle in itself that he survived, a kind relative of the Sloans had heard his drunken cries and retrieved him. Isaiah changed after that, the isolation within him growing worse with each passing day. He refused to even set foot towards the water and to this day, has not touched an ounce of alcohol.

Isaiah found the comfort of writing when he was nineteen, rewriting the night of his near death experience as a method of therapy. He found that he enjoyed it immensely, and used it as a guide to rid himself of his earthly troubles. His family, more than pleased, assisted him the the profession. Isaiah slowly began to gain popularity with his small stories, and when he was twenty three years old, he resurrected the Tophet Journal and was surprised at how business boomed. He found enjoyment in having control of the stories that went around and being able to assist in the town's social dynamic. Isaiah built himself as the man he saw as 'charming, collected, professional,' and prayed it would end his internal troubles. Isaiah still holds onto the memory of his sister, and it is quite common for little poems to be found thrown away in the trash can about her.

Isaiah to this day has not told anyone about the beach incident, nor the attempted harm he had tried to commit onto himself after his sister vanished. As far as he likes to think, neither of those events truly occurred and were merely ideas floating around in his overactive head. He truly knows what did happen, he just never wants to have to admit any of it.

Role in town: Newspaper writer and is suspected to have sold a variety of substances to the locals and to tourists. He acts as an editor and publisher within the town as well.

Other: Isaiah has some scars, particularly on his arms and legs, which he claims are from foolish endeavors, although he cannot truly remember how they got there. APPEARANCE

"Sometimes it's all I can do to get through the day... remembering what they look like."

Grant is the classic epitome of Tall, Dark and Handsome. Olive skinned as his mother, tall as his father, he bears a striking figure, with deep mahogany brown eyes and shortly cropped black hair. On his forearm, he has a tattoo of a paper airplane in flight, and across his right hip, a long, pale scar. Occasionally, Grant will maintain facial hair - generally when his stress levels are higher, or he has less time to focus on himself.

Grant's doll is made from the dark blue jeans and black button down that Grant was wearing the Easter morning he was taken. When he was dropped off after his kidnapping, he was given the doll and it served as a reminder of Diablo's threat that should he return, something terrible would happen to his mother.

CALM RESERVED PATIENT KIND

Of the lot who were taken, Grant appears to be one with a less melancholic take on all that occurred. More concerned with those around him, he seems altogether unfettered by his own past and eager to move beyond the kidnapping and subsequent years that followed.

He's mysteriously calm and collected, particularly when he speaks about his time with Diablo, and houses very little in terms of bitterness or anger. This attitude of benevolence is so definitive that he's often been accused of faking it all. This isn't entirely far from the truth, as the passivity is the only way Grant learned to cope. Were he to shed this central balance of composure, even momentarily, he greatly fears the man he might become.

HISTORY

"We all go through stuff... I'm not special for it."

Grant was always charming - from the day he popped out, he was putting a smile on faces of people everywhere. Inquisitive and positive, he's been described as a warm light in a fog of grey. When he was six years old, Grant's mother was struck by an illness that sapped her of most of her strength. With his father working long hours at the docks and on a fishing vessel, it fell on Grant to care for her. His patience and compassion were unheard of for one so young, and over time his dutiful attention saw his mother through her recovery.

A few weeks following a positive prognosis, his mother made her first public venture at a church Easter picnic... And it was at this picnic that Grant went missing. The man had come from the woods, staggering blindly, a dingy red leash clasped in his white knuckled grip. Struck by concern, Grant offered to help the man find his dog and shortly thereafter found himself in the care of Tophet's own madman.

For a month, Grant survived on the hope that his family would find him, and did his best to reassure the other children. Only when he was released did he understand he was never going to be allowed to return home while Diablo lived. Dropped into the mean streets of Baltimore, the young boy struggled to adapt, retreating to a place of self loathing, to make sense of his predicament. If he had been a better son, a better friend, a better child, he'd never have been taken away.

A few weeks following his abandonment, Grant was taken in by an elderly woman with a small apartment overlooking the waterfront. He began going by his last name, and remained with the woman, aiding her daily, despite her often calloused and temperamental treatment, until the day she passed in her sleep. By this time, Grant was fourteen. For a little while, he remained in the elderly woman's vacant apartment, but eventually his presence was discovered. The Landlord, not entirely cruel, offered Grant the boiler room as a temporary shelter, and two meals a day, earned doing labor throughout the complex. As the years went by, Grant eventually saved up enough tips to afford a small place of his own, but before he could bring himself to sign the papers, he was hit by the inclination to go home...

Fear kept him in place another six months, but eventually pressing past it, he bought a train ticket and made the long journey back to Tophet...

HISTORY

"Who wants to know...?"

Virginia grew up the byproduct of an unhappy union between her mother and a much older man. When Robin Kurt married Hengist, it was apparent from the start their relationship was not one built on love and affection. Money was the motivation, and a baby was never meant to be a part of the equation... But when Robin became pregnant, through an affair, the couple and their family determined it would be best to avoid a scandal, and Robin carried to term.

Some time after her birth, Hengist grew tired of 'playing house' and left his family for a skinny blonde named Rio. Robin was offered a hefty hush fee to keep quiet about the circumstances by Hengist's father. Unbeknownst to Robin, the fee was paid out in a Trust under Ginny's name, not accessible until the girl's 21st birthday.

While she couldn't abandon her child, Robin was hardly the epitome of an affectionate mother, and things grew all the more worse when shortly after Ginny's 6th birthday, her mother met George Gibbons. George was handsome, rugged and successful... Everything Robin wanted in a man, and Robin ticked many of George's boxes as well... but for one. The man wanted nothing to do with children.

Needless to say, it was little surprise to anyone but Hengist's father that it took Robin nearly a week to report that Ginny didn't come home from school.

Ginny endured nearly three weeks at the hands of Diablo, and when she was released it was to find herself in an unfamiliar town in Rhode Island. There, she was taken into the foster system, which she bounced around until she was old enough to take care of herself...

And that was exactly what Ginny wanted. To take care of herself... Because no one else would. But as fate would have it, her independence couldn't last forever, and circumstances forced her to do the one thing she never wanted to. To go home...

Holland is a mouse, scattered, scared and altogether shaken by her personal history. From childhood, she was always something of a bashful thing - driven into herself by her father’s scorn and her mother’s busyness. She got along generally well with her siblings, but never enough to grow particularly close with any of them.

Over time, through her work and her relationship with Charlie, she managed to come out of her shell a touch, but Charlie's death caused a major devolvement and only recently has Holland managed to pull free of the darkness enough to start thinking of her own best interests.

HISTORY

"It's not much, but it's all I have..."

When Holland Saint-Clair was born, the nurse joked that she was something of a unintended gift for an already full family. The sentiment was true at least in part. Her parents never intended to have another child, and Holland's conception came as such a surprise, for the longest period of time, it was a point of contention between husband and wife...

After her birth, Holland was raised mainly by an in-house nanny, and over the years, grew into a bright, but shy young child, beautiful and clever, but utterly sheltered. Her sole comforts came from her nanny and her nanny's son Charlie, who would visit from time to time and bring along car magazines for Holland to glance through.

She remained a child in the shadow of her older sister's spotlight, but for her youth at least, she was content. Then the day came that no one expected. Poppy Saint-Clair was taken, leaving the Saint Clair family out of sorts and Holland holding a chunk of blame she was not owed. Becoming the scorn of her mother and bearing her father's bitterness and anger, results of his own failure, she grew up plagued by the notion that she was somehow, in some way at fault for all their troubles. She found solace only in the work she did at Charlie's garage, where she was hired as an assistant to the mechanic. The shop became her sanctuary, first figuratively, then quite literally, until she'd shed her identity as a Saint-Clair altogether, marrying Charlie in a private ceremony in the Tophet courthouse on July 19th.

  • Holly wears her husband's wedding band on a chain around her neck. She never removes this.

  • Two years since her husband's passing, Holly has yet to so much as consider moving on.

  • Holly lives in an apartment above the mechanics shop - small, but cozy. She very rarely returns home, except when absolutely necessary.

RELATIONSHIPS

poppy saint-clair

Holly's sister. Their relationship was decent enough growing up, but Holly's feelings of being disjointed from the family interfered in any opportunities to truly bond. When Poppy went missing, Holly was so traumatized by her father's blame shifting that she began to genuinely believe it was her fault.

charlie hendricks

Charlie was the son of the Saint-Clair's nanny, Theresa Hendricks. Growing up, he established a close friendship with Holland Saint-Clair that eventually blossomed into more. The pair were married when Charlie was 18. Six months after their marriage, Charlie was killed in a supposed robbery at the mechanics shop the couple worked. His homicide is as of yet, unsolved.

Dinah stands at a staggering 5'9 has a slender, tanned body that is remarkably similar to that of a swimmer. She has light blonde hair that reaches down to her shoulders, but she tends to keep it tied up, if not messily. She has grey eyes that tend to change colors depending on the lighting, but most remark that her eyes are ocean blue. She does not have many blemishes, besides a slightly crooked nose from a childhood injury. Her hair has been constantly dyed darker, but as of recent she has let her true color stand out. She has two tattoos, one of the Star of David upon her shoulder, and another resting along her arm which simply states the initials of the missing victims. She tends to wears skirts or dresses, and is colorful with her attire. Her hair is held by a dark pink scrunchy, and she adorns several pieces of jewelry. Pearl earrings and an otter necklace happens to be her favorite.

Personality:

Dinah is a rather bubbly soul, oblivious to any pain or hardship that may come her way. That does not mean she is naive, no, rather she is very aware of the darkness around her, but she accepts it wholeheartedly and finds it fascinating to pick and prod at it, examining why a human being might hurt another and how to prevent someone from feeling pain. She has an odd sense of humor, which can range from puns to dark jokes that revolve around murder or some heinous act. She is rather caring and energetic, and can get a little too caught up in someone else's personal situation. She is a rather cuddly person, and enjoys the company of others rather than a singular adventure. She is independent however, and knows if someone is attempting to use her kindness to their advantage. Dinah doesn't hold grudges, for there is no need. She has methodologies for allowing karma's natural state to reach a particular tormentor. She knows several facts that most people do not even consider comprehending in their everyday lives, and she loves to spread her knowledge to innocent bystanders. She is clever, but has an extreme case of high in the sky, where she constantly loses herself for hours at a time, whether it be a subject about science or a simple conversation she had the hour previous. She knows how to be calculating, but is so disorganized that her plans tend to go into a flurry unless she has assistance, which she believes she can get easily.

History:

Dinah was born to a Jewish man and his soon to be ex wife three days before the celebration of Passover. Unfortunately for Dinah, because her mother was not Jewish, she herself could not be born into it. Her father, who she refers to as Avi, had the similar experience growing up, and had raised her within the traditions nevertheless. Avi was a relatively good father, he treated his daughter well and attempted to care for her while practicing law within Tophet. But as the children began to disappear, Avi panicked for his only daughter. After Dinah’s good friend, Mortimer Corson, was abducted, Avi Shapiro decided it was best to remove Dinah from any harm.

Dinah lived near Israel for a few years while her father found work there, and while homesick and desperately missing her vanished friends, Dinah found hope in research and storytelling. Story telling happened to be a big part of her family’s culture, and she adapted right along to it. She became fascinated with all sorts of stories, from the mystery back home to the little gossips she would hear from young children. Finally as Dinah was twelve years old, Avi decided that Tophet was safe to return to. Dinah swore that one day she would return to Israel, but for the time being was happy to be back in her hometown. Avi did struggle to find work, and so with the help of an acquaintance and Dinah’s uncle, they opened Shapiro’s historical center. Neither of the Shapiro’s realized how much of a tourist trap the center would become, and were more than thrilled to realize that they had come back to Tophet with a bang.

Dinah realized the pain of her missing friends as she saw old acquaintances, and to smother that pain, she researched the case, hoping to gain closure and grow closer to her vanished friends. While this was not always healthy for her, she gained closure and decided to dedicate a session to teach tourists about their lives and how children were precious and needed to be protected. Dinah soon got interested in law and is attempting to work her way into being a prosecutor. For the meantime she is running the historical center and attempting to spread attraction towards her friends disappearance, that way none of the children and victims could ever be forgotten.

Role in town:
Currently studying law at Tophet's own personal private college, UUT(United University of Tophet). She runs the Shapiro's historical center with her father and other family members, and is organizing the Shapiro's "Murder Walk"

Dinah has to travel two towns over to celebrate the Sabbath because, oddly enough, Tophet does not have a temple. She is quite the competitive swimmer and tennis player, in her spare time gives lessons for both to the younger children of Tophet. She wears both a star of david and an otter necklace, both given to her by her father.

Leon stands at 5'11 and has a slender build, gentle brown eyes are accompanied by short, dark hair. He is clean cut and always well kept, his skin clear and nearly blemish free. He has a body of a dancer, calluses usually sporting his feet. He tends to dress nicely, ranging from a suit and fedora to a black t shirt and jeans. His favorite fedora to adorn his light blue. He enjoys odd socks, ranging from Shakespeare's head to pizza socks. He keeps them hidden with well to do shoes.

Personality: Leon is calm, patient, and easily goes along with what he is told. He tends to be good with children, as well as animals. He is quite open minded, but not to the point where his brain falls from his ears. He is constantly thinking, and generally agrees with others to assume power in the position of people believing him to be intelligent, and most importantly, trustworthy and correct. He can be rather charming but only has the best interest in those around him. He tends to forget to take care of himself, particularly when it comes to aiding others who need it. He is quiet, attentive, and caring. He is moderately intelligent, and is rather good with socialization. Street smarts are not particularly his thing, and he prefers to stay away from trouble or drama. He is quite the entertainer and enjoys seeing smiles upon other's faces, even at his own expense. He is bright and cheerful when it comes to performance, something he usually keeps downwards during everyday activities. He tends to be positive, although he is quite the realist, to the point where his mind can be cruel towards him. This happened especially hard after his good childhood friend vanished. He tends to keep those little thoughts quiet and they have not been active in years.

History: Leon's life wasn't terribly hard, despite the fact that his family struggled briefly with poverty after he was born and his mother left for a few years in an attempt to make a life for herself after Tophet. When Leon was six years old, he had made a bond with Theona Killigan, and surprisingly, Isaiah Killigan himself. His mother returned to Tophet three months before the abduction, and everything appeared to be at peace for the little boy, who had taken up theater performances, which included playing the flute and dancing with fellow members of the community for money while his father struggled. The Cyrus family was booming again, and the cousins around town where more than happy to help assist Leon in his struggles. The happiness was not meant to last, and slowly but surely, Leon watched the children around him vanish. Some he knew well, some he had merely waved a good morning hello to once or twice. Things truly went downhill after his childhood best friend vanished, and Leon fell into a state of sadness so foreign his little mind did not know how to comprehend any of it. He would skip elementary school to go walking by the beach, pretending that his friend would still be with him if he did. He did what he could to open up to Isaiah, but as Isaiah began to drink and grow into an ever growing cycle of depression, Leon found himself alone.

Silent and uncertain, Leon switched gears and focused heavily on school work. For the longest of time, he wished to be a detective but decided to change his mind after he fell in love with numbers. Difficult subjects such as advanced chemistry and philosophy always went over his head, but the comfort of numbers stuck with him. He found another love, which was memorization of lines. Pretending to be someone else always calmed Leon from his troubles, and he tended to take it with great joy. He found that casual socialization assisted with his troubles, but he has always had difficulty truly connecting with people. Leon prefers the simple things. Humans are too complex to truly comprehend for him. They are unpredictable. They vanish, make odd choices. And while that fascinates Leon on an intellectual level, he finds it hard to mentally and physically to connect and associate.

Role in town: He works serving at the Black Rose Pub before drinking hours officially start, and he is studying economics outside of Tophet. He tends to perform, occasionally, within Tophet's theater. Plays are his forte.

Name: Kahlila "Kal" Frambrosia Johnson

01303d163e09cf2_164856_1405354364.jpg

Age: 22

Gender: Female

Appearance: Kal stands at a height of 5'11" and weighs approximately 160 lbs. She sports a dark skin tone, hazel eyes, dark hair, and a very fit yet slim frame. She cares little about her style of dress, outside of always wearing denim jeans and keeping her arms exposed at all times (she's very hot-natured). Piercings line the entire shell of both ears, a combination of alternating loops and silver buds. She also has a tongue piercing.

13755181.jpg

Paper Doll: Kal's doll was crafted from a sheet of paper in her journal, which have scribbled down and incomprehensible words on both sides of it. She kept it on her, but folded up as an origami swan. It helped distracting her from the fact that it came from such an awful period in her life.

IMG_0160.jpg

Personality: In all honesty, Kal is like a loyal puppy. Curious, excitable at times, loves to play-fight, loud, enjoys a good laugh, and will stick by her friend's side no matter the circumstance. Her ideology of loyalty and standing up for the "little guy" is unshakable, to the point of where she can get blinded by it every once in a blue moon. It would take the patience of a Saint to drill it through her head that a friend or loved one was in the wrong, but it's not impossible.

She also has a love for origami, chess, poetry and philosophy--all things that she tries not to flaunt. Besides, it rather annoys her with how much it surprises others, so she decides to keep her hobbies under wraps and divert the topic with humor. That would stem into an issue of hers, in which she rarely opens up about her own problems or any negative emotions, not wanting to waste anyone's time or "bum the vibe".

Finally, Kal's fears include being disliked/hated, Claustrophobia, Chiroptophobia (fear of bats), and the dark.

KOJD.gif

History: Kal's parents Marquel and Nomi Jackson instantly knew quite early that she was a gifted child. Her attentive nature and constant thinking process lead her to thinking outside of the box on many occasions and drawing conclusions that many tended to overlook. She immediately started receiving private lessons from her tutor Mr. Grotski, who cared for Kal like she was his own child. She didn't receive much attention from her actual parents aside from the routine praise, but it was nothing terrible. Kal's favorite aspect about the lessons was the journal entries, in which she wrote whatever profound words or inspiration struck her throughout the day.

During a lesson, Mr. Grotski decided to take Kal out to get ice cream as a reward for scoring perfectly on a recent quiz. She was beyond ecstatic. However, the shop was rather busy and packed that day, along with the streets bustling of Tophet citizens. All it took was one minute of separation from Mr. Grotski before Kal was snagged up by men offering to help her find her teacher. She realized too late that they were lying and a rag was pressed to her face.

She woke up in Diablo's possession with nothing but fear and her journal. The two weeks were hellish, though she did what she could to find refuge in the other children. Faces and voices never really stuck, but their personalities always rang true in her memories to this day. One child was quiet, another loud and fitful, another cold and calculative, some in denial and a speck of light in the dark. They proved to be her only focal point in those dark times.

Diablo dropped Kal off in Tennessee, where she was adopted by a man named Bromy Antonio Johnson. Bromy was a well-renowned sci-fi and fantasy novelist along the east coast, though he did nothing much outside of that. His success allowed him to retire early at the age of 45, which was when he found Kal and took her in. He also took note of her gifted thinking and supported her love for poetry whole-heartedly. Kal was still in possession of the journal, though she avoided letting him read anything in it. Bromy understood and never pried.

Kal earned some recognition in the poetry world as she submitted and published her work into the occasional review or journal, until she was offered an overnight stay at a hotel near Tuckaleechee Caverns. The Editors had let her know ahead of time that the caverns would be open for exploration if any visitors wished and Kal couldn't find it within her curious nature to turn down the idea. However, the adventure swiftly turned into a catastrophe when she stumbled upon a restricted area of the caverns and agitated a swarm of bats. She was bitten twice and fell ill with a minor case of SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome), along with falling and injuring her hip badly.

She made it out of the hospital with good and bad news.

The good news was that her SARS was a minor case, which was incredibly rare. All she had to do was take antibiotic treatment for a few months. On the downside, she developed a serious fear of bats and the dark.

The bad news developed from her hip injury. Although she recovered and was able to walk, she now had a peculiar limp. It took a few years of physical therapy for her to adapt to the change, but Bromy was there the entire time to help. After what happened, Kal felt a need to leave Tennessee for a while and clear the event from her head. Again, Bromy supported her. With final goodbyes, tears, hugs, and promises to call frequently, Kal set off for Tophet in hopes of a fresh start.

Likes: Origami, Chess, Philosophical conversations, poetry, cuddles and hugs, corny puns, and orange juice.

Dislikes: The dark, bats, tight and suffocating places, being still for too long, and people trying to pry into her emotions.

Other: Kal has a slight limp in her gait, though she's developed a certain way of walking that makes her seem informal but it's a way to hide it. Also, her shoes are specially made so that the right foot compensates for the slight lag. It becomes more apparent when she's tired and had been running/walking a long time, but even then she'll deny it and look at you like you've grown a second head.

Name: Garfield "Gar"

ben.jpg

Age: 22

Gender: Male

Appearance: Garfield stands at a height of 6'4" and weighs 215 lbs. He sports sharp blue eyes, grizzly thick eyebrows and a dirty blonde handle bar mustache-bead combo, though it doesn't hang as low as his long and thick head of hair. His skin is somewhat tan from constant exposure to the sun and dirt, and his form is rather hulking and chiseled. He only wears one outfit everyday, which is composed of a yellow and lime-knit cap, gray scarf, a thick coat swathed in holes and tears, a pair of stained blue jeans, and rundown mismatched boots (one beige and one black). Lastly, he's often wearing medium-sized gauges in his ears.

Personality: Garfield loves a good chat and some juicy gossip about the Tophet families. Since he doesn't own a TV, watching real life drama unfold poses as his number one source of entertainment. He'll often pretend to sip tea from a chipped mug (he carries it around in his tattered coat) whenever drama is going down.

Despite his loud and aimless disposition, Gar is very observant and remembers a lot of things, so he has a tendency to scrape up dirt that could potentially ruin someone's reputation. He usually keeps the info to himself and instead feeds the public conspiracy theories. When he talks, half of the things spilling from his mouth are grunts and incomprehensible syllables brought on by what many people assume to be an early case of dementia. He could care less if others understood him though; as long as he could pitch his two cents, he was happy. Besides, he knew the shit he was spouting made no sense; it's just funny as hell to watch others squirm. Garfield doesn't really suffer from any form of dementia or mental degradation, but he's got plenty of secrets.

latest

History: Gar's origins are unknown and any history about him is incredibly hard to scrounge up. The only thing about his past that the man coherently expresses is that he's a descendant from one of the known families in Tophet. The wackjob hobo arrived to Tophet a few years ago and he never once attempted to make a living for himself. He seemed content with being homeless and that never changed.

Some days, Gar is spotted sitting in the back rows of Tophet Theater and listening to performances contently with his pet ferret, Delilah.
