IC Subforum: #CANON
— All in-character threads associated with Fallout: Requiem and its debut roleplay, A Requiem for Spring are welcome in the #canon subforum. By associated,
I mean past, present, or future stories that will affect the world, lore, and characters of the realm. While not every story, character, and plot thread need be "accepted" or "approved", this means that there's an inherent understanding to embody the realm-provided lore or at the very least, respect the effort put into curating it.
All that to say, if you'd like your characters and stories to effect the overall long-term narrative of Fallout: Requiem, roleplay within the boundaries of the lore, even if that means expanding upon it and creating your own. :^)
IC Subforum: #FANON
— All in-character threads for roleplays a part of the setting, franchise, or any story classified as apocalyptic are welcome in the #fanon subforum. No permission needed to post, nor are there any rules or expectations to adhere to, outside of
Iwakus own or the ones you, as future GM, set for your players.
All that to say, if you don't wanna vibe with the realm-provided lore or instead have an idea that just doesn't fit the vibe- the #fanon subforum is the place to be!
Realm Prefixes
Thread prefixes are colorful tags displayed before a thread's title. They can be chosen when creating a thread or afterwards, by selecting "edit thread" from the 'more options' menu above the very first post. More than one prefix can be applied as well! These prefixes show what a thread is for and you can easily filter through them by selecting a prefix within the forum.
The prefixes within Fallout: Requiem were chosen and curated to be multipurpose, due to the Realm limitation of 10. Some are recognizable and some are completely new to the site!
OPEN
-
Threads which have the prefix Open indicate that the roleplay, interest check, or partner search is currently open and accepting new players and/or partners. Alternating between Open and Closed prefixes is a good way to grab attention and avoid unneeded inquiries.
CLOSED
-
The Closed prefix displays at-a-glance knowledge that roleplays, interest checks, or partner searches are not accepting new players or partners at this time. Alternating between Open and Closed prefixes is a good way to grab attention and avoid unneeded inquiries.
EXTRA
-
A catch-all prefix applied to threads containing miscellaneous lore or extra content not included in signups, bonus material like short stories, character surveys, art or other creative content related to new or existing roleplays, as well as additional places to develop or worldbuild settings for Fallout: Requiem, #canon or #fanon.
LORE
-
This prefix is used to designate threads which provide lore and necessary worldbuilding for roleplays.
MECHANICS
-
Need a place to display pertinent information for your roleplays? Sign-ups or important explanatory terms? The Mechanics prefix is used to indicate the thread in question is a necessary read— use sparingly!
QUEST MARKER
-
Quest Markers, like DLC and Expedition, can be used in whichever subforum, for IC roleplays, interest checks, or partner searches.
HOLOTAPE DATA
-
This prefix is used for threads that focus on storing data, be it character indexes, private character storage, bonus content, plotting discussions, or anything else you can think of within the parameters of data storage!
OOC
-
Self explanatory! All threads marked with OOC should remain in the Main Forum.
REQUEST TERMINAL
-
This prefix is one part interest check and one part partner search thread, always signifying that you're craving something apocalyptic-y.
EVENT
-
This prefix is used to designate threads which provide lore and necessary worldbuilding for roleplays.
1X1
-
Used to signify this thread is a 1x1 - that is a roleplay between two people.
GROUP
-
Used to signify this thread is a group roleplay between three or more people.
EXPEDITION
-
Can be used IC or OOC, as an interest check, jump-in roleplay, or anything in between. Mix and match and find the color combination you like best!
DLC
-
Any extra content, IC or OOC, that players would like to present to others. This can be an AU in #fanon, a side-quest in #canon that's just far enough outside of your private 1x1 that it counts as something different, or a side-thread created by a GM for the portion of their party that got kidnapped or fell behind.
WASTELAND PRESS
-
Threads prefixed with Wasteland Press are special, semi-quarterly newsletters written by @rissa or other GM's of the realm that aim to highlight accomplishments and hint towards future deeds.
