"With blood and rage of crimson red..."

Name:
Sarah Panner

Alias:
Red Lantern

Age:
14

Height:
147cm / 4'10"

Weight:
50.7lbs / 23kg

Physical Description:
Sarah has a slender, petite build, wearing a red hoodie over herself and a pair of shorts.
For her head, she wields a long set of red hair, part wavy part dishrivelled, practically covering her back. Her eyes are of a scarlet hue.
As a red lantern, her suit takes its usual form, except it bares her midriff and is sleeveless. However, the only set of clothing it doesn't override is her signature hoodie, in which the emblem of the Red Lanterns is visible. Her eyes glow and exude with red rage, and her hair flows and burns with anger.

"... we fill men's souls with the darkest dread..."

Brief History:
Sarah has had quite the past. After her parents had died in a car crash, she had to live with her Aunt & Uncle. They weren't the nicest of folk - evidenced by them only keeping Sarah around for that fine, juicy inheritance her parents left behind and being abusive to her. Her cousin & school life did not help at all. Sarah knew this, Sarah had to tolerate it. She did not feel sad for herself, or sorry. Instead, rage dwelled in her, pent up.

While she was locked up in her room to starve for a few days, almost ready to die of hunger and thirst, the Red Lantern Ring chose her as its bearer. Giving in to an unspeakable rage, she broke out of her room and ended the lives of her tormenters right there and then. The carnage was so messy, the bodies, and how many of them, could not be identified, leading Sarah to be assumed dead with her Uncle, Aunt & cousin.

Sarah decided to go to Jump City to exact hatred and anger, not on the innocent, but those who harm them, not showing the slightest bit of mercy to even the most common of Street Thugs. Red Lantern was on a rampage, and all who associated with villains, no matter how simple, had reason to fear the Red Lantern, they who enforces justice through rage.

Personality:
Sarah is aggresive & hotheaded at first glance, and she is only even moreso once you get to know her.
She is a Red Lantern, but she does not desire to spread rage, but instead, keep in all to herself.
She has a sense of justice, albeit not a very refined one. Her sense of justice consists of 'making opressers and sinners pay for their crimes'. No matter how simple the crime, no matter how young or old the culprit, she would show the exact same control of power over them, not believing in the concept of control or holding back.
She isn't one who hestitates to kill opposition, occasionally comparing criminals to ants that people step on, or pests invading the house.

"...together with our hellish hate..."

Skills:
Sarah has basic fighting skill, but primarily relies on Lantern Ring boosts for combat.
Sarah is good at videogames, going to arcades very often. She uses Lantern projectile coins, and she doesn't see this as a crime because she believes that her rage is a legitimate currency.

Powers:
tkBY2JI.jpg

Sarah possesses a Red Lantern Power Ring. Its battery is sheer, unadultered rage, and as long as it is fueled, it is capable of creating any projectile imaginable.
Default Lantern powers such as unlimited flight, assumed high speed feats for far-distance travel, increased durability & space/environmental survivability apply.
She can channel her energy to remove her sleep periods & change the fuel of her body from proper food to rage itself, which is what she does since she doesn't have a proper roof on her head or anything to eat. Once she does, she'll likely stop doing this.
All Red Lanterns can produce an energy-based vomit that can melt through objects & even Lantern projections.

"... we'll burn you all..."

Weaknesses:
You know, if she were a Green, I could put stuff like trees & the colour yellow here.
In all seriousness, like all Lanterns, the power is heavily emotion-based. Any opposite emotions will cause the bearer to have the ring reject them, or just become weaker.
Red Rings are essentially life support. Take them off and you die, normally anyways. Red Rings replace the user's heart, after all.
She could care less, but she has a lack of control over her raging power whenever she activates it, being new to the Corps and all.

Trivia:
She has not met another Red Lantern before, not even Dex-Starr of Earth(assuming he's still alive, you know how cat years work), but has heard Atrocitus' voice in her head on a few occasions. She hasn't actually gone off-world yet.
Atrocitus and his Red Lantern Corps will come for her, eventually.

"... this is your fate!"

A RL? Gonna have to keep an eye on you. And that nasty vomit thing they do.

Name: Erika "Ricky" Hawkins // Bang!
Age: 18
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 156 lbs

Brief History: Erika is the daughter of Virgil Hawkins, formerly known as Static Shock. Before her father had settled down with his wife, Teagan he'd thought that his mutation couldn't be passed on. He was wrong. It seemed like almost as soon as she was born, Ricky was shorting out her baby monitor and making the tv go haywire. Although her possession of powers was unprecedented, Virgil wasn't upset. Ricky was like a mini him and when she came to him with power related problems, he knew exactly what to do.

While her father was helping her learn to control and harness her abilities, Erika's mother was not absent from her life. Teagan wasn't a powered individual but she was a robotics professor at the local university. She taught Teagan how to really use electronics to her advantage and how to make them if she needed them. She also made sure her daughter balanced her school life and powered life, equally.

But that's where the problems arose. Soon after entering high school, Ricky decided that an education wasn't what she needed. She had powers! Screw education! She wanted to drop out and become a hero but her parents wouldn't allow that. Suddenly the happy family was divided by a rift, with Ricky imploring them to let her drop out and get her GED while fighting crime full time. Obviously, her parents did not allow this but it turned out, they would have no say in the matter because a few months later, Ricky met the Babes.

The Babes were children of bang babies who had either turned their back on a life of crime or had been reformed. The Babes were led by Mage, a girl with magic spell manipulation, and Lullaby, a girl with sleep manipulation. Ricky practically worshipped the girls, so when she caught their eye and they invited her to join them, she said yes immediately. She started leaving school early or skipping it all together, resulting in notices being sent home. Her parents were livid but no matter what they said or did, Ricky ignored them. It got so bad, that in a fit of anger, Ricky's parents kicked her out and their daughter went to live with Mage.

Ricky--who was going by Bang--ran with the Babes for three glorious years but inner conflicts within the group tore them apart. Mage had started dating another vigilante who was only interested in her and wanted her to be his partner in crime fighting. Not wanting to outright reject him, Mage began moonlighting as his partner, while still leading in the Babes. After a while, she began to slip up and make errors in both groups due to overexertion. Her partner always forgave her, but Bang and Lullaby did not. They booted Mage from the group after her sluggishness resulted in Lullaby getting horribly injured.

Bang thought that she and Lullaby would be able to make it on their own but Lullaby never fully recovered from her injury. Physically, everything was fine with her but mentally, she was scared. She was jumpy and on several occasions, nearly got Bang killed with friendly fire. It didn't take long for the remainder of the Babes to be no more. On her own, Bang was a less than successful hero. She was used to someone having her back, but now she had to have her own back and it was hard, but she was persevering. She wasn't about to go crawling back to her parents. She'd make it as a hero. With or without a team. (But hopefully with.)

Personality: At first impression, Ricky holds an air of mystery and elegance but once you get to know her, you'll realize she's the world's biggest dork and she's damn fine with that. Ricky loves to laugh and it's rare for a day to pass where she doesn't laugh at least one thing (or person). She loves to prank people and will often feign deviousness to freak people out, then dissolve into laughter when they fall for her antics. The young lady is a loyal friend and prides herself in being there for her friends and supporting them at every turn. She makes friends easily but if she is betrayed, she holds grudges like nobody's business.

Skills:
Hand to Hand Combat // She learned the basics from her dad and the rest from her former teammates.

Engineering // Learned from her mother, a university robotics professor. She knows her way around electronics and can throw shit together in a pinch. If she'd continued her education under her mother, she probably would be better.

Gymnastics // She learned most of this from her ex-teammate, Mage. She's pretty damn good at it and can incorporate it into her combat. Also being double jointed helps a lot.

Powers: Electrokinesis // User can shape and manipulate electricity. In order to manipulate electricity, Ricky must be able to absorb it from appropriate sources such as generators, electronic equipment or in times of great need, lightning.

Weaknesses:

  • Water // Water can render her powers useless or cause them to backfire.
  • Rubber // Rubber can also render her powers useless or deflect them.
  • Electronics // Using electronics take much concentration, as Ricky can short circuit or explode them easily.
  • Lightning // Although she can use this to charge up, it is an incredibly dangerous power source. Continuous exposure to or use of lightning as a power source can fry Ricky to a crisp or liquify her insides, either way--without proper equipment, lightning = death.

Optional Miscellaneous Section for Trivia or Theme Songs or Whatever:
She hasn't spoken to her parents since she was fourteen, but occasionally calls them just to hear their voices, but she always hangs up. Somehow, they know it's her.

@Eon I've edit Blitz slightly, he now a majority of his original speed during a battle with Reverse Flash. He also suffers backlashes of speed force lighting when he goes beyond Mach 1 for too long.

Sarah's pretty much all good. Power balance-wise, what is there to say? Rings are rings, rings will be rings.

How many people can be on the team? I'd love to make a character, but only if there's enough room. I wouldn't wanna mess up team dynamics

Plus, group rps tend to be more fragile as more people join, but I thought I'd ask just in case. @Eon

Name: Beatrice "Bea" Rudolph
Age: 15
Height: 4,7 - 5,7
Weight: 80 - 240
Physical Description:

Bea has a flair for eclectic fashion. Each copy of herself is a canvas for her to work on, and she finds it both fun and relaxing. It's not strange to literally see her in several odd outfits throughout a single day. With a new hairstyle to match too! As a matter of fact she gets a kick out of making people think that she truly changes style every few minutes.

Aside from her rather hodge podge fashion sense, Bea is an average looking female of obvious african descent. She carries extra weight, rather well if you ask her, and is aptly dubbed "fluffy" by herself. Her eyes are a bright hazel and if she stays out of the sun for more than a day or two she will pale to reveal freckles! Super kawaii.

rSOEvmT.png

Brief History:

They wouldn't leave her alone. It made her anxious.

It started with nail-biting. Self-coping mechanism. At least she didn't suck her thumb. Eventually, she turned to eating though. Eating her feelings, because she was not like the other girls. She didn't talk like them, walk like them, act like them, look like them... She was round.

Munch, munch, munch. Might as well have lived in the fridge. 200 lbs! That's what the scale had said. Bea cried with that tub of ice cream. It was fine. It was salted caramel anyway.

Her family was loving. They'd have loved her if she weighed 300 lbs. It was bittersweet like teary ice cream. Maybe her home life was great, but her school life more than made up for it in cruel children. She needed a vacation... Was she too young for one of those? Wasn't that what overworked adults said? It didn't matter. The only time she had one of those was in her dreams. Sometimes she'd walk all the way to Jump City, headed for the coast. And she'd sit on the beach overlooking the bay with that big T in the middle.

Other times she'd catch a bus and just ride. The countryside made her calm, all those flower fields that went on and on and on. They made her smile. Made it obvious that the world was good no matter how mean the people were sometimes.

She really loved her dreams. It seemed odd they always started in her bedroom though. Rarely was she out in space, moon-jumping. Or traipsing around candy land. Or giving her first kiss to Batman. Or... scratch that last one. That was dumb. Nonsense!! She did... always start in her room though, and she never came back home either. Least she never died... Everyone knew if you died in your sleep, you died in real life.

These were the thoughts of a regular teenage girl. Vague. Mottled and... sometimes oddly deja vu. For instance, she remembered streets, buildings, places she'd only ever been in her dreams. They should have been fuzzy! Some were, but an unsettling amount were remembered. Sometimes people she swore she never met said hello to her. Random name's floated out her mouth with surety. It got creepy at some point. What's more... The places she thought about the most were the ones she without fail woke up and went to in her dreams. It didn't work like that did it? It wasn't supposed to anyway.

It was one night though that gave her rather straightforward answers to her whirlwind of questions. Her dream had been simple. She'd gone out for a moonlit walk around her favorite park simple. It had been nice. She woke up with a smile even. It was late and she'd been kind of thirsty heading for the kitchen. Nothing unusual except... She was already there. Rummaging through the fridge for a bottle of water... She was already there appearing flushed as if... she'd just come from the park.

It was several minutes before she stopped screaming at herself and tried the mirror dance. And by jove she was truly staring at herself... Damn she was cute!

The realization of Bea's abilities incited her good ole parents to move somewhere a bit more accepting of the strange and wonderful. They're just plain folks. They wanted the best for their little girl. And Bea got her dream of being able to walk to the coast whenever she wanted. It was a lot easier with a house a few blocks away, prime real estate anywhere but Jump City which was crime-ridden and rather death-trappy at the moment. But to Bea it was a new horizon, a new beginning for a girl who wasn't just the duff anymore, but someone who actually mattered. Cause she had the power to make a difference.

Personality:

Best described as somewhere between off-putting and sweet. She can be weird, but most people enjoy her presence once they get past her appearance. As she gets older, she grows bolder and more comfortable with her weight and self image. It's done wonders for her people skills. So yay for her!

Honestly, Bea goes through her shy spells. Mostly around boys, but she'll never fess up to such things as puberty! Blegh! If she decides she likes a person, then she warms up quickly, but any ne'er do wells have a snowballs chance of gaining her trust. Er... well that's not quite true. They'd have to be truly evil not to pass her "There's good in everybody!" sensibilities. Even so, anyone who doesn't make friends with her is missing out, and that's their loss, not hers. Least that's what her ma always says.

xNEwK5E.jpg

Skills:
Espionage,

Bea blends quite well in plain sight. An unassuming teenage girl. Nothing to see here.
Cannon fodder,
Assuming she's been packing it away, she can make quite a few disposables for the cause.
Entertainment
Sometimes she's funny. Usually on accident, but it happens.
Design,
She's got an eye for patterns and color, so sue her.

Powers:
Mitosis,

Spontaneous in times of great stress. Otherwise rather controlled, unless of course she's canned too much weight. Then it's just natural order of things.
Hive Mind,
She retains the thoughts and experiences of her clones, whether good or bad up to a certain radius around her in which the brainwaves unhitch, and the clone becomes a free-agent Bea.
Currently unknown lifespan,
Assuming this mitotic ability has no limit... She could theoretically just multiply indefinitely, reaching a certain age and size so as to... grow again? Kind of like a jellyfish.
Hiding in plain sight,
No one pays attention to the fat girl.

Weaknesses:
Slow growth,

Although it might be convenient to a potentially endless life time. It isn't so very convenient to battle that an 8 year old be on the field. If Bea splits too many times in comparison with the mass of her body, then her body will compensate by regressing to an appropriate point in which it can function, brain and all. (Although she does tend to remember the gist of whatever she was doing before the split regardless) i.e
1 - 240 lb Bea = 2 - 120 lb Beas
1 - 120 lb Bea = 2 - 60 lbs (Roughly 5 year old) Beas
Distances over 5 mi,
At this point in her life 5 miles is the limit to her hive ability. This does potentially mean that there are several Dream Beas in different parts of the country at this point. So... that's fun.
Critical mass regulation,
She walks a fine line. It takes time to gain weight correctly. Sure her body is particularly good at energy/nutrient use and efficiency but it is inconvenient to overshoot her "maintenance" weight. Anything over 240 lbs and Bea will undergo mitosis spontaneously.
Questionable intelligence,
She's not a rocket scientist. She is a one man army, but she doesn't necessarily know what to do with it. i.e. instead of putting her extra selves to good use, she tends to release them like butterflies. She doesn't think too hard about the consequences or wisdom of her actions all the time.
Painful reabsorption,
It is possible for Bea to reabsorb her clones. She will simply convert the extra person back to the weight from whence they came. However, in her case, this is unnatural. And it hurts as such. She does not like to do it at all.

As for you, I'm sorry, but I don't think I'll be able to accept your character at this time. I promise that it's nothing personal, but the other character sheets were just sort of...on a different level. I worry that having such a drastic gap between the members of an RP like this could potentially be quite unbalancing and ultimately rather disruptive, and I'd like this RP to run as smoothly as possible. I sincerely wish you the best of luck in your future RP endeavors, and I hope I haven't hurt your feelings too much. I know this is never exactly a fun experience, but it seems best to do it now and get it over with. Once again, I'm terribly sorry, and hope that you continue to find enjoyable and fulfilling RP experiences on Iwaku and other sites.

Name: Jaymi "Jay" Robinson
Age: 15
Height: 5'1
Weight: 115 lbs
Physical Description: Jaymi has long, straight, black hair down to the middle of her back and light blue eyes. She has light skin and various scars. She's very pretty, but she'd never believe it if anyone mentioned it.

Brief History: Jaymi had a fairly normal childhood. She'd always been shy, by temperament, but nothing more than that. A bit shy. Hiding in her parent's shadows as they grew apart and she blended into the background of their busy lives. She was an only child and lonely that way. Jaymi's powers first started affecting her in middle school after puberty and while her parents' business grew into a corporation. The more they forgot about her, the more she felt herself fade out of their vision. It took them a month to realize they couldn't see her when she finally snapped and yelled at them while invisible. And when they found out,

They despised her. Jaymi's parents always hated what they called mutants, monsters, vigilantes, but somehow she thought they might change for their little girl.
She was wrong and that's when she stopped caring. She was done being a victim. After distancing herself from her very few friends, her new best friend became her mask of sarcasm and pessimism along with her new interest in writing horror stories during her abundant free time running from her past and responsibilities. She's been traveling for a couple years and only recently settled in Jump City to see if maybe she could be less unnoticed for a change.

Personality: Jaymi is rather standoffish and quiet. She speaks when she feels she should and doesn't have much in the way of polite conversation. She's a flight risk and doesn't like to face her problems head on unless she knows she'll get the upper hand. She's sarcastic and sometimes rude. It's a habit now, to try and garner attention even though she rarely expects anyone to actually look. Nobody cares that much for her, so why put too much effort into it? She's pessimistic and hard-headed, but ultimately altruistic, even if she won't always admit it in so many words.

Skills:
  • Sneaky: Can walk in or out of a room without a sound, usually without being noticed
  • Smart Talker: She's been on the streets for awhile now, knowing how to avoid the seedier areas and how to talk to certain types of people in order to avoid trouble. She can be bold when she knows she shouldn't show weakness, but her powers help her out of sticky situations if that doesn't work out.
  • Defensive Maneuvers: Jaymi can fight, but has a unique style mainly focused on defending herself rather than attacking those after her. She fights dirty if she has too, as well. Biting is not too low a move if she needs it.
Powers:
  • Invisibility: She can become entirely translucent at will, becoming invisible to the naked eye. Cameras can catch her on tape, as well as heat trackers and some other technologies, but other than that, she's invisible. Everything touching her skin when she becomes invisible goes invisible with her.
  • Phasing: With enough concentration, Jaymi can fade through solid objects like walls, floors, and sometimes people. She doesn't enjoy it because it feels strange and she has never tried to pull another person through with her, so she's not entriely sure where her limits lie with this power
Weaknesses:
  • Lack of Control: When she succumbs to loneliness and fear that no one truly sees her, she tends to become literally invisible without meaning to and sometimes doesn't realize it occurs until she passes a mirror or someone freaks when they bump into her.
  • Concentration: Unless she has a moment to think and center herself, phasing is very difficult. If she's in combat, or too distracted, she cannot phase.
  • Touching: While her clothes easily become invisible with her, people are a bit harder. She can usually hold hands with one person each holding either of them, but more than that takes more concentration and energy out of her. She'll drain herself of energy making too many people or objects invisible with her.
  • Fears: PItch darkness and Fading into nothing
Theme Song:

I feel terrible, because you just missed the cutoff post, but...I'm sorry. Applications closed like, moments before you got your sheet in. You'll be the first to know if someone leaves and a spot opens up.

Hey, every team needs a baby! Also, having the shortest member of the team be the angriest is good for comedy.

Oh my bad! I totally thought that when you said you were cutting off character sheets, mine was going to be considered cuz you quoted my post asking about it^
I just liked the post. I guess I misunderstood, sorry. Well if anyone drops out, my character is fairly easy to work into the story late, so dont hesitate to PM me if that occurs. Have fun guys!

Alright, everything is in place. I'm going to start work on the big welcoming starter and IC thread, which I'll make accessible as soon as possible. Baring cosmic accident, divine intervention, or my death, it should be completed within the next 2 days. A brief summary of what will serve as the opening bit of RP can be found just below the original post of this thread.

Alright, wow! Guess what I got done way faster than I thought I would!

This: CLOSED SIGNUPS - Titanic Teenagers Toppling Tyranny IC

Feel free to reply whenever you get the chance. Don't worry about length, just reply with whatever you feel most comfortable with to start, and we'll see if any adjustments need to be made from there. I'll post this in all the important places.

Follow the drone to the boat.

My character did? But Crow's character is already at the tower presumably talking to someone, I'm not even sure if Impudump's character is at either spot in play? Your character kind of took off (which makes sense, most with Speed Force can walk on water, but your character would have seen Crow's Character before Eon's). I don't mean to backseat GM or anything, but Eon moved his character to the first floor. I mean, in a group this size, It's kind of good to keep things consistent, you know?

Sorry, I should have waited until it was more clear anyone was at the boat before posting:' D

Then i need to include @Crow in my post. I must have missed the part were she went to the Tower. Then it should only be 2 others there. Thanks for pointing that out.

Yes, Bea is at the boat. She has no other way across so assuming anyone else shows up atthe boat they can introduce themselves to her.

You make a good point though is there a note or anything that says when the boat should depart? Or are there more boats? Assuming she waits how would she know how long to wait? The drone maybe?

@Noctis the Devious @Eon

Sorry, busy day for me yesterday.

I imagined that characters without a way across the bay would either A) drive the boat themselves, or B) be instructed in how to do it by their drones, who would both try to explain it at the same time and be pretty annoying. The drones would probably insist on having Bea wait until the other poor unfortunate soul who can't cross large bodies of water without swimming arrived. The same would go for him too, obviously. If you two wanted to have a little moment where you meet each other on the boat, that could be cute, but obviously don't worry about it.

I'm going to wait to make my post until we've gotten through everybody else, which means we're still waiting on @Raven @Chaac and @Cosmic Penguin to add their sweet music to ours.

That sounded better in my head, but I'm keeping it in.

Posted! :D Also is there a discord for this? :>
