Day 1 | Morning | Outside Displacer Ruins

Aaron had taken a seat on the ground near Yer'on, silently grateful for Niccola's offer to cook the animals he and Kyllan had killed as cooking was not a strong suit of his. When Ione reappeared, declaring his boredom, Aaron visibly recoiled as the beam of energy shot of the being and blasted the bird-dog-thing next to him. Though Aaron's face revealed surprise, no sound actually escaped his lips except for a soft "tch" as he resettled himself.

Only half listening to Ione's mention of a hostile mother in the jungle, Aaron's attention continued to remain on the smoldering body of Yer'on. He tentatively reached a hand out and poked the corpse to make sure it was actually dead. The meat was still sizzling and warm to the touch. Slowly, gently, Aaron plucked a small piece of meat off the corpse and, after plucking off what little feather or hair that remained, popped it into his mouth. The flavor itself was not too much unlike chicken though slightly more bitter. Perhaps if this mother Ione mentioned was a carnivore, they could toss this at her as a distraction.

"Building, nearer to mother," he finally suggested, looking back up at the group and gesturing towards the large building deeper in the jungle. "or..." he trailed off this time as he nodded towards the mountains where light and smoke could be seen. "Could mean more people."
Interactions: Aaron @jeshem
Mentions: Yer'on @Moogle-Girl and lone @Tiger Dragon

There she sat eating whatever kind of bird the guys had caught. Niccola was thankful that the other's were trusting of her to make the food as she was starting to get hungry. They had managed to set up a little area to sit. For a while, the 5 of them had been sitting in silence. Niccola was lost in her own little world thinking of her home when lone popped up shouting about being bored. Glaring at the thing Niccola opened her mouth to speak when lightning struck the ground, right where Yer'on was sitting. Eyes wide Niccola stared at the charred corpse with slight fear. What the hell. What kind of power does this 'mommy' hold?

Looking at the others she could see the same surprise on there faces as on hers. Shaking from her stooper she looked over at Aaron who had spoken. "Toward the smoke. I don't want to be any closer to that mother character."

Hunger satiated thanks to Niccola's excellent preparation of the gathered fowl and fruit, Kyllan sat in a loosely crosslegged position near the crackling fire. His gaze was averted to his lap where he was sharpening his dagger, well-worn whetstone emitting a raspy hiss as it ran lightly along the steel blade. Though still guarded in posture, he appeared notably more relaxed compared to his tense wariness hours previous, wings laid lightly against his back and Cisceren perched on his shoulder.

The bloodwing stiffened slightly at the sudden and dramatic appearance of the god, watching in his periphery as a hair-raising crack of brilliant lightning reduced the crow creature Yer-on to charred meat and feathers, but otherwise showed no acknowledgement that the self-proclaimed demon had ever existed. He was just thankful that it hadn't been he to suffer the consequences of Ione's irritation.

"Likely a wild animal with young," he muttered partially to himself considering Ione's mention of a 'mommy' in the area. As he spoke, he carefully tested his thumb on his newly polished blade and, satisfied with his handiwork, returned the dagger to its sheath at his hip, slipping his whetstone back into the knapsack set beside him.

At Niccola's suggestion, he lifted his shoulders in a slight sign of agreement. The threat of a nearby hostile did not bother him given his extensive past experience with combat, but he was eager to escape the oppressive heat of the jungle. Besides, though he usually preferred to avoid people, he was naturally attracted to mountainous regions.

Day 1 | Afternoon

Cisceren happily tagged along on Kyllan's shoulder. At least as happy as the mute living stuffed animal could seem with his round black beaded eyes. It would happily eat whatever Kyllan gave to it. The only time it turned red was a sweet smelling plant that was among the other berries and foliage.

As the group quietly decided what they wanted, a portal opened and a loud sound announced as a dragon man fell out of it and onto the ground.

"DRACO! PLAYER 2! COLOR RED!"

To avoid the other players from having to explain everything again, Ione threw everything that had happened in the last 6 hours into the poor dragon-man's brain. Ione himself, didn't make an appearance this time around.

Day 1 | Afternoon | Outside Displacer Ruins

As everybody (those who were still alive at least) seemed to be in agreement to head towards the flickering lights, Aaron got up and started into the woods. He left the crisp bird demon where it laid, reasoning that if they were not heading deeper into the jungle, "mother" would not need to be the highest item on the team's very long list of concerns. As he reached the edge of the clearing, however, Ione decided yet another surprise in the form of a new team member. Aaron blinked at the giant lizard thing that had fell right in front of him before looking back at the group and shook his head. You guys take care of this, his face said. I'm out.
With that, Aaron entered the jungle, scouting ahead for the group. He made sure to stay within earshot of the other members but at the same time remained silent while vigilantly looking out for potential dangers.
Draco landed on the ground, dazed by the sudden- drop was it? His memories became foggy as his brain was invaded with certain pieces of information. Suddenly, these strangers he felt like he knew them by the back of his hand. Man, they had problems. He looked around, spectating the people around him. He knew them, but they didn't know him. His cheeks flushed and he stood up from the ground and gave a quick wave towards everyone else. "Draco. Draco Enkidu."

He scratched behind his ear, his tail flickering like a cat's as his pointy ears twitched and his wings stretched. The full span of his wings was about 24 inches, twelve for each wing. He continued to stretch, trying to ignore the weird feeling of knowing people he didn't know. Hopefully, someone would explain everything to him... even though he had a rough estimation of what was truly going on.

Kyllan glanced up again as a new player toppled into their midst with the boom of Ione's announcement. "Well, that was fast," he muttered. Yer-on's body hadn't even cooled from the strike that killed him—the bloodwing could still observe it smoking slightly in his periphery. Ione certainly didn't play around, title notwithstanding.

Remaining seated, he watched the newcomer, Draco, out of the corner of his eye. The man—he guessed that Draco was male, anyway—was humanoid in form, but like himself could be little further from human. With such features Kyllan's first guess would be that he was a lizard morphos, but he had never seen a morphos so distinctly draconic although he supposed it was technically possible for them to possess higher forms than mere animal life. He struck the bloodwing oddly of being similar to himself despite a somewhat softer demeanor.

A glance amid his companions told him that the task of explaining things to the newcomer fell to himself, again. At this rate people were going to think he was the leader. He shook his head with a sigh but stood, folding his arms as he faced Draco.

"You have questions," he noted flatly. The remark was a statement: everyone had had questions. Letting his words hang in the air, he waited for Draco to ask his.

Draco looked towards Kylian. His eyes widened in surprise. Everything was still new to him, but he seemed to have some sort of resemblance of knowing him. He noticed the charred body next to them. He frowned. Draco was familiar with the scent and sight of dead bodies, especially charred ones in the hell-scape that he came from, but every time he noticed he couldn't help but feel upset.

He turned towards Kylian as he asked the question. He nodded, "Why are we here? Why were we chosen? I know most everything else, as I received the memories from-" He pointed with a talon at the smoking corpse. "Yeah. I'm just kind of curious in general what you think."

Unknown Cliff Face City -- Edge of Jungle
Day 1 | Sunset
Everyone

The travel through the thick jungle was slow, but mostly because Aaron started to become terribly sick as they walked. The human with cyborg parts had to stop once every 40 minutes to an hour to throw up everything he had in him. The more he throw up, the weaker he started to feel. Thankfully, around the fifth time he threw up, he started to feel a bit better and they could travel without having to stop and wait.

The jungle was filled with thick vines and trees with not a lot of walking room and defiantly no flying room. Those with swords or claws likely had to do a bit of weed waking to make a path. There were many animals, but none they had seen before. Most of the animals around seemed to have the theme of all being Hexapods.

The food the group has cooked and gathered lasted them through the journey to the edge of the jungle.

SHORTNAME
Bird People

As soon as they go to the edge of the jungle they could see the sun was starting to set and they were meet with the base of a mountain. On the face of the cliff, there were holes carved all up and down the rock. Fire was already being lit as the sun started to melt away. They saw walking around were people. Bird people. They people were feathered head and almost to toe. Long claws for hands and feet, their wings on their back.

Your group didn't have time to react or call out because somewhere at the top of the cliffs, a loud whistle sounded in alarm. Many of the people started to scatter. Many of them flew up into the top parts of the cliff houses. It was pure panic for the town.

Well, if Draco had Yer-on's memories, there was little that Kyllan could add that he didn't already know, especially as the questions he was asking matched Kyllan's own. He curtly explained as much to the draconic humanoid as the group packed up and set off into the jungle after Aaron.

When they caught up with the human scout, the bloodwing noticed that what little of his face was visible with his hood and mask seemed oddly pale, a factor that only worsened as they walked. Considering that, he was hardly surprised when the group had to stop shortly after starting so that the young man could step aside and puke into the undergrowth. And then again a short while later. And again. Wondering what had upset his stomach so vehemently, Kyllan recalled one factor that made him drop his head into his hand with an exasperated sigh: Aaron had eaten a piece of Yer-on's corpse. He shook his head, muttering a common insult in his native tongue. See, that was precisely why they had the bat—Aaron should have let Cisceren taste it before he did...

The sun dipped low and scarlet on the diverse horizon when the group finally reached the edge of the jungle. Although his expression remained neutral as usual, Kyllan was grateful to finally escape the close foliage into the crisp open air. His eyes scanned the face of the rocky cliff before them, observing the city set into it. Externally he was unresponsive as the citizens within flew into a panic upon the group's approach, but internally he was slightly irritated by the skittish and all-too-familiar reaction. This was part of why he preferred to avoid civilizations: the reminder of his species' reputation was beyond tiresome...

Day 1 | Afternoon | Jungle, City

Aaron spared Kylan a glare over his shoulder, daring the bat-human to make any comments on his current condition though any threats that would have come up were cut short when he doubled over again to empty more of his stomach's content. He had pulled his mask down to avoid getting it dirty though he kept his back to the group, hiding his face from them. As the nausea in his stomach finally faded, Aaron wiped the back of his sleeve across the corner of his mouth and pulled his mask back up before rejoining the group.

Approaching the village, Aaron appeared impassive as he watched the panicked scurrying of the avian natives when the alarm announced the group's arrival. In truth, Aaron was actually quite relieved upon seeing how the natives seemed to fear the group. He reasoned that it would be better to be feared as a threat than to be seen as prey. He scanned to see what they thought. From what he could tell, Kyllan did not share his sentiment. Aaron shrugged and silently made his descent into the town.

Volen had been taking up the rear, but ran up towards the front as the alarms began to right out. "No red carpet it take it?" He mumbled to himself. His mind drifted towards his blade, but he kept his hand from following. If there was a chance of resolving this peacefully, drawing blades and looking more dangerous would ruin it. "Kylian, I trust your judgement, I think you should try and talk to them. See if they can understand us?" Volen asked, taking his eyes away from the scurrying avian folk to look upon the drake-like being he'd come to respect as the acting leader.
