The Evrensel Conflict -- Chapter 1.2: The Best Defense is a Good Offense

The response that Almandine received from Talion managed to make her chuckle, as she relaxed her tensed muscles but kept a watchful eye at the hooded newcomer.

She too, heard the commotion by the boxes and simply turned her head towards that direction. Almandine's smug expression was soon replaced with an unreadable one, as her eyes widened at the sight of an eight foot tall creature. A smooth, ivory skull with two horns protruding out of it's skull-like head, eyes that seem to glow with such luminescence, and a long, dark slender body that looked as if it were fragile.

Needless to say, Almandine was in awe. A rare attribute that seems to contradict her naturally brusque personality.

"Woah, you're beautiful."
Almandine stated bluntly, as she can tell that the creature meant no harm. She then turned her head to scope within the current vicinity to see if there was anything else lurking or hidden about.

Dusk stared at the new creature. He gaped into the eye of the humanoid creature and saw a reflection of himself, a grim reminder of how strange he really was. Its arms were almost the shade of his entire body, making Dusk wonder if they were related in some way. While he marveled at the creature he heard it's voice. Dusk was surprised to be able to understand it's speech. He instinctively knew that it was something called English. This was a strange feeling to Dusk, having never communicated with another being before. He was scared to reply, having no idea how or what to say. His head managed to spit out a noise similar to thunder in the distance. Dusk didn't think that the random noise he made helped the interaction whatsoever. Ducking down to eye level with the gem, he tilted his head and twirled his pointed finger in the air, hoping that it would acknowledge his attempts at trying to figure out where he was. He dropped his hand after a second and looked around, hearing another voice from the distance, this one being deeper and sounded as if it was a hunter of some sort. This is definitely not my world, Dusk thought to himself.

Kingpin spun towards the noise, Sunshot once again raised to fire. He's no Hunter, so the art of the Golden Gun is lost on him, but he could appreciate a good hand cannon or two. Still, he preferred something more up-close and personal. He raised his left hand, and a shotgun materialized in his palm. It seemed to be pieced together from chunks of metal, sensors and wire, but built with excellent material and craftsmanship. Kingpin deftly swapped the hand cannon for the shotgun, and his Ghost returned the Sunshot to storage.

Kingpin spotted the head first, then the hand beside it. The Hive-like complexion almost made him pull the trigger, but he somehow managed to stifle that impulse and instead simply aimed at the head.

The next thing he noticed was the squeal and an odd... crunching sound, as if something hard crashed into something else hard. The ensuing muffled screams, although coming from a vaguely different direction, did nothing to lessen his adrenaline-boosted instincts to fight, to pull the trigger on his beloved full-auto shotgun, but he held steady.

As for Scott and Naoto, the files held some interesting information - for example, shipping manifest for some food supplies, furniture, luxuries, automobiles and parts, confidential supply run for the local military base...

Wait, what?

If they inspected closely, they can just make out a date and time on the manifest. Maybe the electricity is still working, and they can figure out the current date and time, and maybe, just maybe, figure out what the hell is going on...

Scott McCall

Scott looked over at the files and noticed that it seemed to be shipping manifest for food supplies, furniture, luxuries, automobiles and parts along with the confidential supply run for the local military base. There was a lot of things he had questions about, but it seemed there was a ton of things that could help. If the ship hadn't come in, there might be some food that they could access.

" I think we need to figure out what today's date is and what time it is. The smaller items aren't important, but we all need to eat in this strange world and if we don't eat, well, we might not survive. Doesn't matter how much we want to get home, got to be careful. Naoto, have you seen any light switches or clocks around here?" He asked. Scott would also look around himself to see if he could some of these things.

It was dark....really really dark for Xiao. Another dark skinned girl from seemingly same time period and region as the other girl that was just attacked by a crab of all things. Last thing she could remember was her petting her pet wolfbat when a green light suddenly blinded her. Wolfbat which was also tightly pressed up against her chest now as the girl was getting squeezed by items from all sides.

Thanks to get E-ranked luck she had ended up inside a crate full of pillows. Her cries for help would only sound like more creepy noises coming from the stack of boxes near the already terrified girl. Its when a concrete wall sprung Xiao went quiet as she was given enough clue that there still was ground around the place. Even though she couldn't see where she was bending she made a pillar of concrete spring up beneath a stack of crates...but it was the wrong stack which fell over to the side and tipped over the crate that she was in. Now on her side it was her pet that began howling to try and get somebodies attention

When the howling began, Amy froze up, afraid that a giant monster was gonna kill and eat her because of her attacking of the crab. But, as the howling went on, she realizes those noises was an animal in pain, and she quickly ran over to the crate making that noise. "Notgood notgood notgood notgood!" She shouted to herself, trying to figure out how to open the box. "Hey, it'll be alright little guy, I'll get you out of there!" She yelled to the box, looking around for something. She luckily found a crowbar sitting on one of the boxes next to her, and uickly she placed the sharp end on the back of the back, prying open the nails.

It took a minute or two of trying, since the nails were dug in deep, but finally she burst open the box door, and in the process nearly tripped over herself from how fast the box sprung open. The earth-bender quickly regained her foot and looked inside to see the creature. "It's all good no--...... Hi!" There was a woman in there as well! And the creature was a wolfbat! A baby one! This was.... odd.

Xiao gasped for air as her poor pet howled more and more but then came a voice telling that help is here. After some time the box came open explosively as her pet wolfbat rolled out first and right after it the brown skinned avatar tumbled out, coughing and gasping for the fresh air that she was in now.

The wolfbat recovered quickly and shook its head before zipping around Amy in rapid circles on the floor sniffing and poking her feet or legs with its nose. With a small yiff it then zipped right back to Xiao who had stood up on shaky legs and knocked her back down onto the floor. Looking at the girl that pulled her out of the box past her wolfbats excitement said. "Hey there. thanks for pulling me out of that mess god knows how long it would take me to earthbend my way out of that." And right as she said earthbend she used airbending instead to get back up on her feet in a single smooth motion without dropping her pet.

Amy watched as the little wolfbat ran around her feet, curious about the earthbending artist who saved it. She gave a little chuckle to it's rather cute attitude towards her, and when it ran back to its owner, she smiled slightly. "Oh, uh, n-no problem." It ain't everyday you meet a lady who came out a box with a wolfbat. It's a bit strange, but you know what, this whole situation was strange. "So, why were you in the box--" As she was about to finish her question, Xiao suddenly jumped up onto her feet using the air around her. It took Amy by surprise; a small jerk of her head when Xiao suddenly got so close to her. "...... Um......."

Now, she heard the words 'earthbending' clearly, she wasn't bad at hearing people when they talked, but that was clearly Air-bending. And immediately she came to one conclusion. She had heard about how the new avatar was a female, and was living in Republic City with her pet, but she never got her name on her travels. Each name she got was never the same, always different. But, was she truly the avatar? "..... You're the avatar, right?" She just wanted to clarify, even though she just saw proof of it.

Petting her wolbat who seemed to have taken a liking to its new spot in its owners hands licked her cheek to which Xiao recoiled slightly. "H-hey that tickles." She said to her pet which was both happy and excited about this new place.

"The one and only Xiao eventually replied to Amy's question and just to prove it she lit a fire on one of her fingers while pulling in a rock to have that flat above the flaming finger. around the rock soon came a ring of water that formed from the very sweat that Xiao had accumulated while being stuck in that box and to finish it all off it was all wrapped in a blanket of spinning air. "To be fair i dont know how i even ended up in that crate. i simply sat down..." she pointed to a specific pillow and let the 4 element structure fall to the ground. "...and prepared to have a meditation session with my teacher. Had my per in my lap at that time too probably thats why shes here too."
