The Monster Mash Festival

It has been a long jubilant week for the realm of Nautchwald. For the past six days joyous cheers echoed through out the streets late into the night as everyone was well into the energy of the Monster Mash. The whole community was in good spirits, but were ready for the return of their daily routines. Today going to be a glorious day of closure for everyone, as it was the final day of the week long event. The end of the festivities would be starting off with a celebratory community feast, and would end with a magical light show of fireworks. A literal bang if you will. Still the day brought many things to do before such a wonderful display, and our cast finds themselves enjoying the fun.

As the sun began to peek from the horizon and bless the realm with it's warms rays, the city slowly began to spring back to live. Birds sang their morning tune, and the early rising citizens of Nautchwald began to make ready themselves for the new day. Soon enough the streets were starting to fill with people as they made their way to Yeager Hall, a large community building made to house participates of large events such as this. The hall was going to be lined with rows of tables, and providing a plethora of breakfast foods for their grand feast. At the center of the hall was a large stage for scheduled performances while people came in to eat. For the morning feast there would be live music to enjoy.

Farther away from the bustle of the inner city, residents living in suburban neighborhoods were lively at the start of the new day. Many families were either finding their way to town center or celebrating at home with each other as company. A group of kids had fashioned themselves a game of kickball in the mid-morning, their joyful screeching could be heard through out the cul-de-sac. It was time for the next pitch, and after the red rubber ball had been released the kids cheered for their kicker. Their cheering fell eerily quiet though as they watched the ball fly into the yard of what the local resident children only referred to as "The Bad House". The house had always had a looming and ominous presence with in the community. Nothing on the property grew. Even the grass was dead and held a brownish hue. Sometimes the children, along with the other residents of the neighborhood, could hear terrifying screaming coming from inside or the sound of something shattering. All of their parents had told them to keep away from the property, but being parents never explained to them why. Leaving the kids to fantasize and imagine the reason had created a cloud of rumors and stories for the house. Each kid had a different story to tell. There was one thing for certain though that seemed to resonate with all their stories, and that it was a house in which evil lives.

The kids smiling faces quickly devolved into looks of worry and fear as they simply stood there staring at their red ball nestled softly on the yard's ugly grass. Being kids they soon enough began to bicker over who would be the "it" person to fetch the toy. The fighting fell into silence when one of the girls in the group let out a mousy squeak of fright. She clung unto the nearest child pointing a chubby finger at the window. A pair of red orbs was staring at them from behind the front window's blinds, and then swiftly disappeared. The front door then creaked open, and immediately the group of children dispersed screaming in fear. All of them had fled save for the timid little girl in jean overalls whom had frozen in place. Standing there in the door way was just another girl, albeit much older than her, dressed in mostly all black. Shaggy locks framed her pretty face as they cascaded down to just at the shoulders. With furrowed brows and full red lips curled into an unamused frown, the girl looked largely annoyed. Her vibrant red eyes both haunting and chilling, but the darkness under her eyes gave her a haggard look. They bore into the mousy little girl, before drifting over to the red ball having taken notice to it. With the snap of her fingers the ball shuddered then heaved itself off the lawn. It leisurely bounced its way to the girl, before settling at the young girl's feet.

"Skylar where do you think you are going!? I told you you weren't allowed to leave this house!" A voice rings out from inside the home, causing the little girl on the black top to flinch. In a panic she scoops up her toy and scurries away leaving Skylar and "The Bad House" behind her. The raven haired teen lets out an impatient sigh since she wasn't in the mood to speak to the woman calling to her from inside, but when her mother's voice began to raise higher Skylar eventually spoke up trying her best to sound cordial. Not that it would matter anyways.

"It's the last day of Monster Mash Mom. I made plans with a friend!" Skylar calls back to her.

"Plans!? You honestly think I am going to believe that!? Get back inside NOW Skylar." Her mother's voice was icy and harsh to the ears. That's all her mother was these days. Angry and bitter. Skylar would be damned if she stayed any longer in this house though. She was surprised she lasted this long before needing to leave. Adjusting the straps to her backpack Skylar detached the broom charm from her bracelet and tossed it up into the air. The metal quickly transfigured itself into a broom stick big enough for someone Skylar's height and weight and floated before her figure. Tuning out her mothers insistent shouts of protest, Skylar mounted her broom and swiftly takes to the air. When she had gained enough altitude she looked back to see her mother in their front yard most likely screeching her head off until she was red in the face. Finally out of the woman's reach, for now anyways, Skylar could feel a weight being lifted off her shoulders. Her tensed muscles began to relax, and as her irritation finally subsided a relieved sigh rolls off her tongue. She inhaled deeply allowing herself to really feel the sun's race grace her bare skin, and the wind rustle her hair. There was nothing more freeing than this to the girl. Being so high above it all, away from it all. Plus nothing could beat the view. From being so high she could see mostly all of Nautchwald that wasn't hidden away by the mountain range or the expanse of trees.

Fixing her attention away from the city, she made haste to her family estate. The Petrova Estate would be lacking in activity due to the festivities in the town so now would be the perfect time to be a little devious. Skylar intended to have some fun with the opportunity she was given. She could explore the manor fully with out having to bump into Sephiria or Magnolia. Boy were they going to be in for a treat when she was finished with her schemes!

Meanwhile in a pocket between space and time....

The Card suit Society had been lacking in livelihood for quite some time now. It's residents used to come and go at a much more frequent pace, but recently it seemed as if fewer and fewer of it's members were returning. These days it was mostly quiet as its two more permanant residents typically kept to themselves and sought their own entertainment. While one of the two, a young girl named Olivia, was going about their business in the main lobby the elder woman made herself cozy with in the society's only library.

Nestled in her favorite chair and wrapped up snugly beneath a blanket designed to look like a suit of hearts, the woman sat reading The Great Gatsby leisurely. Her delicate fingers eventually pinching the corner of the page and deftly flipping the paper to the other side. A soft gasp flits from off her lips as focused heterogeneous hues of purple and blue scan the new pages contents. A movement outside her peripherals suddenly disturbs her focus, but determined to finish this chapter she tries her best to ignore it. Though the movement doesn't stop, a sudden shifting of light, and Moselle realized that something was wrong with the lamp next to her. The flicker had become a little more erratic for her tastes, and it promptly distracted her from her reading. Peeking from behind her book it is revealed unto her that it wasn't just her table side lamp, but all the lights in the Library were blinking chaotically, some even fizzling out as if they were having some kind of electrical issues.

"That's strange." The woman's honeyed voice muses quietly as she began to untangle herself from her blanket. Moselle knew that all of the society's power was run on the magic of it's creator, and not real electricity. If the lights were not working properly then that couldn't be a good sign. The moment Moselle found her footing the room rocked lightly as if they were being stuck by an earthquake, which again wasn't possible. The books began to slid of their shelves, and Moselle stumbled her way through the hall into the lobby. The shaking had worsened in the time it took her to get there as it was becoming more violent. The pressure in the room began to shift with a magical charge, and a string wind kicked up with in the confined space. Moselle's long white locks licked her face and danced around her frame as another violent shudder caused her to loose her balance.

"Moselle!" The younger of the two, Olivia, calls out to her terrified.

"It's alright? What is going on!?" Moselle shouts out over the creaks and groans from the society's walls. That's when she noticed that things were starting to disappear. Portraits and paintings that lined the walls were turning blank, plants were loosing their color, other items collapsing in on themselves or warping unusually. The sound of wood splintering startled Moselle into looking above her, the wooden beams of the ceiling were beginning to arc and buckle in on themselves. This space was falling apart, and Moselle knew that if they stayed here any longer that they would surely die. With a new found panic, Moselle tried to pick herself up off the floor, but a searing pain shot up her arm causing her to flinch. Instinctively her attention drifted away from the other girl and to her wrist which was now swollen after her earlier fall.

"Moselle look!" Olivia's childish voice rang out, causing Moselle to shift her attention back unto the girl who was making their way to the Society's door. It had opened up for them, a swirling vortex of pale yellow and amber on the other side leading to god knows where. Whatever stable magic was left in the society was being used to prompt them to leave this space. Using her uninjured arm, Moselle eased her way off the floor and began to steadily make her way over to Olivia who was waiting for her. Her feet flipped out from under her as the society bucked again forcing her to trip, but luckily for her she was able to catch herself on a nearby chair. "Moselle get up! Lets go!" Olivia hissed at her out of her own fright, and motioned to make her way over to the witch. However the young lass was knocked back into the portal by another one of the Society's violent shifts. "Mose-" The last thing that could be heard from the young girl was the yelping of Moselle's name.

"Shit! Olivia!" Moselle swore to herself as the tiled flooring began to crack and pop underneath her feet. If she didn't hurry she wouldn't even be able to make it, but she could barely walk straight with this horrendous rocking. Whispering a prayer under her breath she made an effort to at least get herself to the door. With a rush of adrenaline Moselle pushes herself into the direction of her salvation as the floor crumbles behind her and disappears into nothingness. Extending a hand she latches unto the door knob, right as the ground beneath her fades leaving her to hang unto the door for dear life. All she had to do was swing herself over to the door frame and climbing her way into the portal, which had turned a shimmering almost blinding white. In fact she could almost swore she heard a voice calling to her from the other side. Suddenly she feels something odd, as if the space around her had shifted. For whatever reason, she wasn't sure, she trusted herself to let go of the door knob allowing her to simply stand in the dark void. The door and it's frame suddenly collapses in on itself but the white portal is still there, and Moselle knew that it was not the same magic as before. This portal was someone elses doing, and she was going to have to trust it.

Stepping through the portal she braced herself to be warped into another plane of existence. The process causing her stomach to turn, and her heart to race. With in a matter of moments she stumbles out the other side and collapses onto clean wooden floors. "Oh sweet baby Jesus..." She chokes out. Tossing herself unto her back she pumps her arms into the air and lets them falls limp at her side. "Made it." She was horribly out of breath, and needed to come down from the rush of adrenaline she had felt during her time of distress. There was a gentle cough, drawing Moselle's attention over to who could only be her savior. A man, who didn't look much older than her, at least to her, with shoulder length white hair that glistened in the faint light and gentle hues of blue and gold. Those eyes held a certain twinkle to it that Moselle couldn't quite place, and at the same time they felt familiar to her.

"That you did..." Her savior spoke in a soft but seemingly modulated tone to her; it was almost as if he did not want to frighten her for some reason. Had he been worried? Moselle wasn't quite sure. He stood before her but a small distance away to let her have both space and time to take in her surroundings. Plus she had just experienced something quite traumatizing, so Moselle was grateful for his silent patience. Finally starting to come down from her adrenaline high Moselle sat up and studied the features of this stranger more closely. She had seen him some where before, and slowly the pieces fell into place for her as she began to recall a handful of memories from what felt like a life time ago. She remembered seeing this man in passing back in her old colonial town in Massachusetts. Though out of all the memories there was one most prominent to her. She remembered a day where her school mates had pinned her to one of their school desks and burned the ends of her hair with matches. The thought causing Moselle to involuntarily comb her digits through her now long and healthy white locks. The man had found her crying outside the barber's shop because she couldn't pay to have her hair tended to, and he took her inside and paid for everything. Moselle also remembered how furious her mother was when she arrived home with shorter hair. The man seemed to have noticed her relax, at least somewhat, so he approached her carefully with an extended hand. A little dazed she eased her hand into his palm and allowed him to help her from off the floor. "I want to take this moment as slow and steady as you need Moselle. So by all means take all the time you need to adjust." He said to her as he motioned for her to look around the apartment.

Leaving his light grasp Moselle's eyes flitted around the room she was in. The blinds were shut, but they were slightly opaque so the faintest glow of sunlight allowed for some illumination of the room. She could see easily that the space was semi furnished, but mostly undecorated. The place was well maintained and immaculate to the eye, so it was easy to tell that this man did not live here. That nobody lived here. Yet it was kept clean, so the only conclusion was that it was going to be meant for someone. Moselle looked to the man curiously. His figure leaning against the wall next to one of the windows. "You're the man outside the barber shop? I don't understand..." Moselle finally speaks to him, her voice just past a whisper. The man seemed to look saddened by this choice of words as he removed himself from the wall and began to move into the corridor. Moselle's brows furrowed in perplexity at the display of emotion. Why exactly would he be sad? There was an audible warning about watching her eyes, and suddenly she grimaced as he flicked on the lights for this room.

"I don't expect you to understand, but I am happy to know that you remember me. Even if only a little. Follow me Moselle. I have something to show you. I think it will make things clearer..." He calls over to her as he walks into the corridor. To her he sounded almost a little bit more joyful, but then why did he look so sad still? Nothing in Moselle's body told her this man was dangerous, hell she knew him, but she didn't want to let her guard down just yet. As she walked into the corridor with him she immediately noticed the door a little ways down the hall, and some doors. She assumed the one closest to the exit was a closet for jackets and shoes. The door closer to her and the man must be a bathroom. That just left the door in between. While it was shut, she could see a thin line of light from under the door, and figured that was where they were going. "As you know, the world around you has behaved in mysterious ways that you could not describe or fully understand. Yet these occurrences were acting around you all the same and beyond your control. As you grew older you tried to reason it away. The bruise on your leg vanishing over night, never once getting sick, or something else was just a sign that you were healthy. You didn't think or rather you didn't want to believe that you were something mysterious yourself. Something unexplained. Something your town would have drowned you for as horrid as that is. Funny enough despite your will to wish it away, your grandmother got sick -"

"I am aware of that story. I lived it a years ago." Moselle cut him off. She didn't want to remember what had happened. The thought of the wretched red witch still out there when she was responsible for what was very much the worst night of her life. Moselle was tense from the reminder, and nervous at the fact that this man new about such an event. Though when he turned back to look at her so apologetically her shoulders relaxed. It was odd, and yet she was comforted at the same time. The still unintroduced man stopped outside the door to the room he wanted to show her. Now facing her he continued. "Moselle, by now you must be well aware that magic exists in this world. How else do explain the place that used to be the CSS? Yet despite this, and despite your childhood you seem to insist that you yourself are not being of magic. Moselle you are no different from me. You are a Magi capable of extraordinary feats. I just wish I was there for you when you were younger..."

Moselle gave him a confused look as he trailed off and smoothed out her floral blouse feeling a bit nervous about the current situation. She always seemed to have some sort of issue with men in the sense that being around them either annoyed her or gave her a sense of unease. Tenebrae was an exception to that, but Moselle had her suspicions that the butler for The CSS wasn’t all he was cracked up to be. Still Moselle didn’t want to seem impolite since the man just saved her life. Moselle draped an arm over her torso, and had it latch onto the opposite side. Her other arm now rested atop it with the elbow pressed into her forearm. It allowed for the woman to fiddle with the rosary that hung around her neck. She was highly uncomfortable with the direction of this topic, but she wasn't sure how to really react yet.

She was aware of magic, albeit her experiences with it were very far and few in between. She dared not think about the night her grandmother died or the curse that was slowly killing her body. Instead she imagined the kind of magic she grew to love at the card suit society. The self washing dishes, the magic that fixed broken things, the magic that protected people who needed it most. The mixture of warm nostalgia coupled with the truth that such a place no longer existed any more....it was bittersweet. Though the strangers words caused something to churn inside her. Her expression was something akin to both denial and anger.

“That’s not funny.” Was all she said, though deep down Moselle always knew she was different. Being capable of magic would explain a lot of weird occurrences, especially during her time at the CSS. Though the days of being bullied and treated like she was some kind of freak had forced her to deny such notions. In her mind the confirmation of being unordinary was not a good thing as it only gave those people a valid reason to have done such horrible things to her. Taking a deep breath she takes a moment to recenter herself as the situation was becoming too emotionally charged for her. An outburst wasn’t in her best interests as of right now, and she had a feeling the man wasn’t done.

The man could notice bits of her emotions and how she remained uncomfortable, cautious, and serious. As expected and her emotions he would guess would only come to be more shaken about over the course of this. It had to be done. "I meant no offense and as much as it may be difficult to believe. Each word I tell you is only the truth. Nothing more." the stranger said still standing in front of unopened wooden door. His gaze moving downward with a sense of sorrow. "I had hoped...that my absence from your life would let you be somewhat ordinary. But I never truly believed it. Your mother gave me little choice in the end...." He said stopping with a breath before opening the doors that floated forward silently.

Wary eyes only narrowed when the white haired man spoke again. It was easy to see the annoyance bubbling underneath her pale skin with her pursed lips and furrowed eyebrows. The woman had even crossed her arms in defiance, as she readied to rebuttal such notions. Her denial was only growing with each word, but everything came to a pause at the mentioning of her mother. Her mind shifted to thoughts of her youth. Her mother’s actions towards her growing up, and she couldn’t deny that his claims made sense. Childhood memories of objects left behind being taken away, instances of scrapes and bruises disappearing over night being forgotten with age, the unimaginable seemingly being drawn to her in later years. Then there was him, the ever familiar stranger, always showing up at the most opportune times. Need she go on? She was never ordinary, and she was never going to be ordinary. Although, in the end a part of her always knew this existed with in her, around her, but that didn’t make it hurt any less. When he spoke again she looked past him into the room.

" I was never far from you."
As the words were said he gestured for Moselle to enter first. The room ahead was a large study of sorts, a squared room mostly vacant except for a single large object covered by a thin white sheet at its center. Moselle’s hands drifted up her arms to grip her shoulders as she held herself tight. She didn’t know how to react to this, or what to say. What could even be said about it? The next room to be shown to her would have taken her breath away had she not been so shaken up by this ordeal. She stepped forward hesitantly, as her stomach churned. She could tell what the hidden object was just by its silhouette. The man followed behind her and with a wave of his hand the sheet pulled itself away from the object and revealed a wondrous instrument to the both of them. A piano of an incredibly unique design. One unmistakable from her past where a single individual would play for and alongside her in their original home. "Moselle..." the man whispered with a tender softness he always held for her when he would speak to his daughter. "I leave this with you..." He said with only a brief gaze over one of his most prized possessions. A piece of her inheritance in a way. From here he stepped back and let her piece what he brought to her together further but felt responsible to utter the sealing words of confirmation. "I am Morris Petrova. Your father."

As the words were said with the reveal of the piano waves of childhood memories flooded her mind. Those very words filled in the missing pieces of a much larger puzzle that she hadn't even been aware of. She had forgotten his face so long ago, and now it couldn't be more clear to her. The stranger and her absent father were always the same person. Ever memory held a new weight to them, and from those memories back to reality she stood in front of what could only be her father's piano. "No..." She whispered her watery gaze fixated on the white ebony piano. Wide eyed she rushed to it, to get a closer look. There was no way it was truly that very same piano. Immediately she bent down, ducking her head underneath the key bed and seeing a choppy engraving of a heart etched into its wooden frame. Closing her eyes tears dampened her cheeks as the memory of her using an ice pick to carve the shape into it became ever present in her mind. Standing erect Moselle stepped back away from the piece, and brought her hands up to her face as heavier tears streamed down her cheeks. This was too much. “I can’t.” She let out shakily in between shallow breaths and a quiet sob. The floor creaked under Morris's feet as he cautiously approached his eldest daughter, and softly rested a hand on her shoulder. He spoke to her in the familiar loving tone that he always held for her.

"I understand. Take all the time you need Moselle. As always I will be within an arm's reach should you need me." He said carefully before removing his hand from her and returning to the door. Looking back at her he says a bit sadly "There is a festival going on should you wish to see this new world I've brought you to. There is someone in the hall way outside your loft tasked to help you...adjust. Try not to let his appearance frighten you," he pauses for a moment, "I don't expect you to, but if you do choose to speak with me I will leave you something that will bring you directly to me. I would like that very much. I can't apologize enough for leaving you, and I hope that one day you can forgive me for it." He finished as a warm glowing light filled the room briefly before he was gone from the dwelling entirely. After his departure Moselle sat upon the piano stool trying to wipe away the remnants of tears that cascaded down her flushed skin.

Location:
Petrova Manor/Yeager Hall

Click, click, click, the sound of brillent red booties tapping against the marble floor. This click echoed though out the cordors of Petrova manor. Rising up along Sephiria's legs a tight, cross breed between a spandex and leather, pants clung to her frame. Continuing up along the woman's curvy body was a fitting light grey halter top, which reveled some of her stomach, and a body length black trench coat. The trench coat was causually drapped along her shoulder in a stylish manner. "I do not have the time to deal with your mistakes! You have till tomorrow morning at seven a.m. to fix this. If it's not done by then consider yourself fired!" She spat angrily at the phone. Now was certainly not the time for her to be dealing with this. Her job was to control the company and make sure it prospered along with a million other things that required her attention daily. Sephiria Anastasia Luna Petrova, the Red Rose Witch, had many other things to do. Things always seemed to need her attention whether it be research on magic, running Potint Inc, or dealing with the Petrova things. "I pay you to do this! This is your job, not mine! Don't tell me that! Look right now I have other things to do so figure it out! You have til tomorrow morning for the last time!" She yells hanging up the phone.

Seph was moments away from chocking the stupid fool. Can no one do anything? Must she do everything? She sucks in a deep breath and let's it out slowly, and again. "Calm down. You've got this." The woman whispers under her breath. Her heels continue to click as she kept up her long and elegant strut. She was no short of bring a beauty baying compare with stunning mahogany locks, beautiful blue orbs and a rocking body. Her stomach gave a small rumble, thankfully no one herd, and she sighs lightly. It was the last day of festivities and maybe, just maybe, she could let loose and enjoy some down time. Though that wasn't very likly. Over the course of a year she had kept herself overly busy, though it didn't do her any good.

Walking past the gardens she stops and stares at it. Memories of a distant past flooded her mind. Memories of playing in the gardens with her darling son. Ones he may not remeber but she did. The two would play in the garden, tag and even hide and seek. She remembered teaching him about the plants and all sorts of other things like magic and how to read. She doubt he remembered much of anything of then. Remembering this she swore to herself once again she'd find a solution and be close to her family that has been so very distant. A small tear trickled down her face but she quickly swooped it away with her fingers. Now was not the time for this. A soft fluffy animal nuzzled her cheek softly. She smiles sweetly reaching over to let the little fox who had been napping on her shoulder. "I'm fine Rey." She tells him. Not long after that her heels where clicking again and she enters Yeager Hall.

Upon her entrance the room grew quiet of its chatter and all eyes seemed to watch her. All eyes being on her wasn't an uncommon thing, after all beauty, brains and power are quit the combination. She keeps her head held high, back straight and walks gracefully to her seating area, a place she seemed to always sit being the head of the Petrova family. She stands by her seat and holds up her wine glass which has just been poured into her glass. "I welcome all of you to the final day of Monster Mash! Hopefully all of you have had a good time and if you haven't well, I don't know what to tell you. Now let's eat shall we?"

A huff escaped the dark shadow as he lay around bored watching Skylar. He wondered when they be going, he wanted to play with that bird again. The bird was fun and a bit demonic like him. Perking up when the young witch stepped out, he went to follow and cringed at her mother screaming for her to stay. He slunk away fron the annoying voice. He was a bit gtumpy today, he been cooped up for days. He watched his witch from the shadows and saw her take out her broom. Slinking quickly along the ground he followed her to the manor. Taking his shadow dog form he started to laugh a high pitched hyena laugh. He made his way to her side and nudged her hand agaisnt his head. He was looking for attention and feeding off her bad mood.

Ent had loat interset in his toys they no longer squeaked and he was starting to dwindle down in his shadow form depressed and annoyed. He just sarcastic remarks or not say a thing. However now that his witch was actually doing something she was good at he was up and about. Feeding off the growing negativity his dog shadow form really began to take shape. His black furry chest, furry legs and head appeared. Razor sharp teeth and glowing eyes shown up at his witch. He knew what was going through her mind. He let out a horse laugh, "lets do it" he told her and goaded her on to do bad things. He wasn't exactly a good influence. He was more like that little devil on your shoulder telling you to do it.

Ent was the embodimwnt of chaos and evil. He thrived upon the negativity and chaos, which filled the world around him with dread, chaos and deapair. If he wanted to he could make everyone go mad, as long as he had enough negative energy to thrive in and his witch gave him plenty of that. Ent may be a disgustingly dubious creature, but was loyal as a dog to skylar. He would kill to protect her and hated when she was hit in or someone tries to show affection to her. That was his witch and he was not letting any one harm her, he wouldn't even let her mother get close to he, he was over protective and beyond Loyal. He was more in synch with her then he had ever been with any witch, and Ent was a ancient dark shadow spirit. He never felt like this for any other Witch, something about her was different. Something that was dark and chilling and just so wickedly evil. "Going to be a eventful evening my dark little beauty." He said his voice gleefully wicked. He was grinning darkly his eyes set on the Manor.

The morning had, with each passing grown increasingly better for the pinkette who had seated herself within the corner of Yeager Hall, eagerly munching away at a muffin clutched in her left hand. Purple toned orbs glittered with unrestrained glee as the sweet, soft treat easily crumbled between her teeth and the sweet jam causing a happy grin to shape her glossy lips. This was all seemingly normal, though the mass of muffin wrappers scattered around her on the table was not. Nimhue showed very little signs that her stomach was even slightly full by the fact her bag, settled by her side, was full of wrapped up cookies and chocolates from the stalls outside.

It did not take to much longer for her to finish the raspberry jam filled muffin and crumble the thin paper between her well manicured nails and finger tips, lightly tossing it onto her pile of discarded rubbish. Her chest heaved as a happy hum escaped her, attention straying to her side where her final muffin stood lonely...something Nimhue refused to allow. Such a cruel fate. Hurriedly, her hands snapped over to grasp the dessert while the other hand gingerly picked at the paper wrapping. This had been the pattern of behaviour she repeated all morning since arriving at the hall. Though, it was disrupted when the calming chatter that became background noise faded to an eerie silence. It unnerved her slightly when silence filled a space as large as this, something that cause her eyes to cautiously shift from her table to where echoing taps of heels broken the silence.

Red.

Sephira...But Nimhue mainly called her by 'Red'. She found the woman a bit odd but deserving of respect. A grumpy huff and a pout broke her happy display of emotions as her posture slouched.
The silence had put her off a bit so she turned from her remaining muffin for a second to continue listening out. After the witches speech, Nimhue cocked her head in silent contemplation before collecting her half unwrapped muffin in one hand while her other awkwardly grasped at her prior muffins wrappers. Stumbling slightly other to a bin, Nimhue dumped them with a theatrical sigh of exhaustion before brushing off her outfit. The two were not enemies...and last time she checked, greeting someone you knew was polite...

As usual, Nimhue was dressed in anything she found to be fashionable and with this being the last day of the festival, she had dressed up. A light pink chiffon top tucked into a pair of short black loose shorts was paired with flesh coloured tights and low heeled black boots, at her side a pale pink bag that rest across her chest diagonally. Her unnaturally vibrant pink hair was pulled into a high ponytail, a braid wrapped around its base while longer bangs framing her face. Overall, Nimhue was proud of todays outfit, especially as she adored the rose gold coloured sunglasses settled upon her head.

Once her outfit was clean, Nimhue twisted around while taking a smaller bite of her food as she headed over to the red rose witch. It didn't take long for her to drop herself into the seat by the witch as curiousity brimmed in her gaze. A second or two later, once she swallowed, Nimhue finally spoke. "Good Morning Red," Despite Nimhue's knowledge of her lacking social grace, it was not a caution that resided in the front of her thoughts. "You look tired, have you not slept?" The Abaia mumbled, raising a brow quizzically before returning to her muffin.

As Sephiria took her seat a plat of food was sat down before her. One that consisted of eggs, bacon, sausage, muffin, and hashbrowns. The older woman picks up her fork and takes a bite. Everything was spectacular and a lot better then she would have first thought. She quickly covered her mouth with a napkin as she let's out a small yawn. Maybe she really did need a vacation. She took a few more small bites of her food before she notices an abaia slithering its always into the seat next to her.

"Goodmorning Nim." She responds to the pinkette next to her. "I've slept I assure you. Not very much might I add. Sleep is a luxury I sadly don't have these days. I am busy and have lots of things that requires my attention." Sephiria slides her muffin over to Nim figuring it would serve as a good enough distraction. "How have you been?" She asks before taking another bite of her delicious food. She raises the glass of red wine to her lips for a sip. It was well needed.[/fieldbox]

Nimhue had studied the woman carefully, propping her head into the curve of her hand as she took a bite of her muffin. The abaia had paused in her movements when the witch spoke, her lips pursing in thought for a moment before she tilted her head. "Buuut, sleep is necessary right! People need to sleep certain amount of hours per night! - at least, that is what I read a while back. I gave up after that, the book was boring." She pointed out, frowning slightly. There was a tone of caring in her voice as she finished her muffin, crumpling the paper once more. "If you are busy why don't you ask someone for help? If I can help I will..." The pinkette murmured, brows furrowing slightly as she huffed. She didn't understand much of what went on concerning the people around her.

It was always confusing.

She opened her lips to continue speaking, only to pause when the red rose witch slid a muffin closer to her. A bright smile painted itself upon her lips as she stared at the dessert longingly for a moment, almost as if in awe. "Thank you, Red!~" In honest, she had eaten far more than one would expect of her small size of these treats just in the past few hours. Yet, it wouldn't stop for a couple more. Eagerly plucking the muffin from its small plate, she unfolded the wrapper and took a small bite. Nimhue hummed happily as she chewed, putting the small cake like treat down as she swallowed, folding her arms on the edge of the table as she dropped her chin onto them. "Isn't it early to drink wine? Is that unhealthy?" Curiousity laced her tone as she stared at the dark red liquid shifting in the glass.

Roth
Location
: Several blocks from the celebration. Apartment.
Inhaling sharply as he rose upwards out of the bed, Roth shifted himself around to the edge and kept his lower body obscured with the sheets as he was still entirely naked from the previous night's festivities. That night's experiment was 'Nicole', she was still sleeping peacefully in the bed that he'd so discreetly vacated, she was quite the enthusiastic and spirited girl. Scrounging up his clothes from the floor of the apartment he jumped into his pants, tucking in his shirt and making certain that his buttons were lined up perfectly down his midsection, adjusting his belt before sitting in a chair adjacent to the bed. This new position allowing him a parting glance at the lithe form and voluptuous frame that Nicole possessed as he laced up his boots.

His trench-coat left draped over a chair in the kitchen area, he hastily tossed it around his shoulders allowing it to hang across his large frame rather than sliding his arms through the sleeves. Reaching back with his right hand he withdrew his wallet from his pants and left a handsome sum of money on the nightstand beside Nicole before tucking it back away in his pocket, he then silently escaped from her apartment and made his way through the emergency exit and down the nearby fire-escape ladder, descending into the shadows of the alley below.

His coat still resting upon his shoulders, Roth delved his right hand into his left coat pocket to retrieve his sunglasses and his cigarettes. Grasping the glasses by the right arm he flicked them forcing the other arm to open as he slid them onto his face, allowing him free reign to retrieve a cigarette from the package unimpeded. "Just what the doctor ordered." he thought as he pressed the cigarette between his lips and pressed the tip of his right index finger against the end of it, causing it to ignite enough to be smoked. Taking a long drag off the lung medication he recalled the day's order of business, "Package to be received in fifteen minutes, show up at the celebration to keep up appearances, speak to Silas after tending to business at the Petrova Manor."

Walking with purpose and a determined stride, he exited the alley and rounded the corner to step onto the sidewalk, down the street he could see a mass of individuals near what he presumed to be the Yeager Hall. Pinching his cigarette between his right thumb and index finger, he exhaled deeply before taking another intense drag, turning down an alleyway just a block away from the crowds. As if on queue a dirty and disheveled looking man was waiting for him, covered in filth even the underneath of his nails had dirt caked under them. He bore a package that was wrapped in a white satin cloth and smelt of a cemetery. The man twitched and shook as an addict would and was fidgeting incessantly as he spoke. "Y-you aren't...h-him. He uh..was...h-he I mean promised m-me, I...u-uh, well...there. I need m-my reward."

Taking the parcel Roth tucked it away inside of his trench-coat and much to the surprise of the dirty man, it simply vanished as though it never existed. "As per the terms dictated two weeks ago, you have held up your end of the bargain and as such, The Grim is satisfied and has tendered your reward to me for delivery." Outstretching his right arm, Roth offered the man what appeared to be a genuine hand-shake though there was a definite tension in the air. The dirty man still trembled and shook as he hesitated before then lurching forward to accept the handshake.

Yellow light flooded the alleyway for only the briefest instance much like a lightning bolt illuminating an otherwise black sky, then stood the two men facing each other. The once dirty man now entirely clean and well dressed, his addictions and shaking entirely gone and his speech was that of an ordinary man's. "Thank you...I made poor choices in my youth...now I have a second chance." The man shook Roth's hand firmly and gratefully but suddenly felt the grip of Roth tighten around his hand. "If you speak to anyone of this matter or in any way were to divulge the contents of this deal, all gifts would be revoked, remember that, always." With that Roth released his grip on the man and used his now free hand to grasp the remnants of his cigarette and flick it across the alleyway before turning about and pacing on towards the Yeager Hall.

“Will this really work?”

An amused chuckle followed the innocently curious question as golden eyes watched the contemplating woman stare at the handful of cards spread within her hand. Her other arm was looped around a frail neck and shoulders, Kaliah’s head perched upon the smaller woman’s shoulder as she smirked. “Of course~ Though, it’ll be up to fate...you never know…~” She cooed teasingly, bringing the folded out cards together once more till only the dark purple and red galaxy print on the back of one card was visible. Her hand made, magic embedded cards. Her thumb ran delicately across the back of the pile causing her attention to stray from her prey for a moment. As if she believed in fate, even this, what card she got was a result of her own manipulations...

“B-but...Isn’t this a bit far…”

Kali snapped out of her day dream and hummed softly, her lips pursed as she pocketed her cards for a moment. Sneakily her free up reached up, gently caressing the woman’s chin as she turned her to face her, Kali’s grin growing softer in her act as the woman blushed slightly. “Not at all~ That man cheated on you, right? Don’t you want him to pay?~ A little misfortune! A little bad luck...Honestly, don’t you think after these past few days of tears, he deserves this?” Kali asked, releasing the woman from her grip as she stepped around so she stood in front of her. “A beautiful lady like you should not cry...it is deplorable what he as done! I simply wish to help~” Her voice was sweet but low, a sadistic glee hidden in its depths as she promised the woman something she knew full well, she would soon mess with. “Come on…~” A few minutes passed before the brunette nodded pitifully, though a passionately vindictive flame burned in green depths. Kali almost laughed.

Once again she pulled her cards from her bag and with a flick of her wrist those cards were fanned out within her grip. “As I said before, its up to fate...If you are truly motivated, you’ll pick the lovely misfortune card instead of love or luck.” Facing the back of the cards towards her, she shifted her weight to lean on her right side, hip leaning to the side as she smirked cruelly. Truthfully, all the cards were blank as they were yet to be activated but Kali had embedded all of these cards with magic to cause misfortune and bad luck...she knew when it began to impact this poor woman’s prior love, it would either end up in chaos or guilt. Honestly, she was curious and amused at the thought alone of what could happen from her minor manipulations in this woman's life. The brunette plucked a card and held it out to Kali who put away the rest of the cards and took a hold of the chosen one, smiling politely. Flipping it over it showed a blank white space with a decorative red and gold border. A second passed before magic sparked to life at its centre and began to paint the empty space with an elaborate picture. A slim, elegantly dressed woman was crumpled to the ground with a tragedy mask pinned to her face as darkness surrounded her, swallowing her silent cries. Kali laughed, passing the card over before swinging her arms behind her, grasping one wrist with her free hand as she did. “Well done! Now, all you need to do is slip that card on him somehow and BAM! What he deserves~”

The petite brunette stared at the card contemplatively as Kali tilted her head, lowering herself till she could catch the woman's lowered gaze. "Hesitance? Now?" She uttered, stepping closer slightly as she straightened herself. "Don't! It isn't fair what he did~" Kali loved this part, whispering sweet venomous words to some poor sap. It was kindling a fire and starting a chain reaction. "T-thats true..." The ladies voice had steadily rose since when they first stumbled, on Kali's part purposefully, into one another. "He deserves a little suffering! Right! I-I worked hard for us... and he cheats with some lowlife waitress..." Kali slipped her hands behind her back once more as she watched the brunette shove the card into her purse. Luckily, her art would vanish when the magic ran out so she wouldn't be leaving anything to tie her to.

Grabbing a handful of notes from her purse, the woman shoved it into Kali's awaiting hands "Thank you! Take this- Have a lovely day!" That was all the woman hurriedly got out as she stumbled slightly before storming off, rage twisting her once delicate features. Once she was out of range, Kali sighed. "Well, that should be a ton load of fun for the two of them~". Folding the notes repeatedly before curling her hand around them she smiled. Not only was it an amusing conquest, it was also a means to get more medicine for their mother. Her grin brightened at the thought of her mother before she, in excitement, jumped with a slight skip. "Ooh, Kari will love this!~" With that thought in mind, Kali twisted around and studied the stalls for a moment before she hurried over to the one her twin and her familiar were perched at, a wide smile enough to tell those she passed of her glee.

The sun had been hidden behind the clouds on this the last day of the Monster Bash. Karin was leaning back in her chair enjoying the cool wind as it breezed over her pale skin. She was enjoying the weather and Karns company her sister was off tricking some poor sucker into making someone else's life miserable. She thought ab it and smirked, she sat up when a woman and a male walked up to the booth. Standing she smiled and looked at the couple and raised a eyebrow. “Can I help the both of you?”She asked. The wife looked at her husband and then back the white blonde hair, goldeneye female.

Can you help us contact our lost son. He died a few months ago and we haven't really gotten over it. We just want to know he isn't mad at us or just okay.”The woman said. Karin held back a laugh. She cleared her throat and nods to keep from laughing out loud. She had them welk over and sit down. “What's his Full name?” she asked . Karin looked at Karn a minute then looked back the write the name down as her Mentor Shakra had taught her. “Have anything of his?” she asked. She took the gold necklace the woman pulled out of her purse and held onto it in her soft small hands. She looked at the boys name and spoke the words out loud as her Tutor Shakra told her to well more like yelled at her to do when contacting the dead. She become quite decent with connecting to the dead. Holding the gold chain she looked around at the people then behind him. Her eyes focused on a pale figure. She looked at the picture and was surprised she had actually gotten him on the first try. “Daniel?” She asked. The figure nods. “ Did you want to say something?” She asked the couple. The woman gasped. “Yes please tell my boy I love him and I am so sorry.”She said.

Karin rolled her eyes. “
He can hear you, I just have to speak for him.”She said catching a glare from the boy. “He isn't very happy he blames you for he wound up in the after life.” Karina said. “ Danny we're sorry, we couldn't reach you and they didn't get to you on time.”The woman said. The spirit glanced at Karin, “Tell her to stop looking to contact me next time I will send a demon in my place” he said. Karin sighed and nods. “ He says he forgives you and will be moving on from here on today won't ever be able to contact him again.”Karin lied. The spirit glared at her and she dropped the gold and quickly burnt the name. She watched the boy go up in flames screaming and glaring at her.

Thats it hes gone.” she said. “ Now payment I did as you asked. I don't control outcomes.”She said and took what the woman could give and the kids necklace, she throw it in the pawn container. She could feel the magic coming off it scooping it into a bag she thanked them and got up counting what she been given. Tossing the bag into the pawn basket and the money into her pocket purse. Her ran through her long white blonde hair. That was the first time she done that without Shakra. With Shakra showing her, she felt hollow and ghostly for a few hours after, this time she had chills and goosebumps on her skin

As the sun melted away from her spot where she been sunbathing most of the morning, yawning she looked at the time. It was only 8 her and Maddie were to be heading for the Monster Bash and would be meeting up with her Witch Alyona later. She had reserves about her witch’s wife. She only ever been with Alyona. Shaking her massive grey head Shira pushed her body up and opened her green gaze to look around the house. Stretching out and yawning she shook her massive body and let her fur lay flat again. Sitting down for a minute to lick her paws and pull the clump from between her pads. Once the clump was out she spat it out and walked over it. Her tail flicked back and forth as she walked looking for Maddie. When she found her, Shira started to purr and get up into her lap.

Maddie had, as usual, been out in the garden since early that morning. Her flowers tended to thrive even on a minimum amount of care but she liked to put in the effort. Besides, since Alyona usually had to leave for work incredibly early as well it’s not like she could spend her morning just snuggling in bed. With the garden tended to she showered, got dressed, and had sat down with a cup of tea when Shira joined her.

“Good morning, Shira,” She smiled, before hesitantly reaching a hand down to brush the mound of soft fur on her lap.

Shira had wanted food before they went, she normally only got friendly with Maddie when she wanted food or petting. She let Maddie place a hand on her, but not pet she swipe at her with her paw, if she was wanting pets she would not swat at her hand. Maddie knew her signs by now, jumping off her lap, she ran up to the kitchen and jumped on the counter purring. Her purrs got louder with every move towards her getting food, she of course could change and make her own, but this form was what suited her most. She felt more comfortable in this form, had claws and teeth to protect herself.

The internal sting that comes with the rejection of affection by an animal one wishes to pet washed over Maddie as Shira batted her hand away, but she was used to it enough by now not to let it show. The two were still getting to know each other, and things tended to get a little more awkward when they were alone together, but she still took it as a sign of progress that Shira had been willing to get in her lap in the first place. Really she had always wanted a dog, but…well, she supposed Shira wasn’t exactly a pet. After following Shira to the kitchen she prepared her food for her and left her to eat, taking the opportunity to wash up her mug as well.

After getting her food she wolfed it down quickly knowing they had to make their way to the Monster Bash. She cleaned herself and let Maddie slip a harness around her neck and torso. Once it was clipped, she shook her fur and let her hook a lead to the Harness. Shira was strong, but the harness kept her from getting in trouble when out with Maddie. She normally was very well behaved around Alyona, but Alyona had more control over what she did. Shira prowled at the door her muscles rippled under her coat as she walked back and forth waiting on Maddie. She pawed at the door and let out loud meow at Maddie. Shira wanted to go out and go to the monster bash. She wanted to meet up with her witch, Alyona had left early for work.

“You’re right, there really is no reason to wait around the house any longer,” Maddie agreed, opening the door to let Shira out and then locking it behind herself. “Maybe we’ll even be able to convince Alyona to take a little break from work and enjoy the festival with us, hm?”

Shira excitedly bounded out the door and stood ears perked and head looking around. Spotting a bird in the yard she crouched ready to pounce when she heard Maddie. With a small bow of her head in acknowledgement, she picked up the lead and handed it to Maddie. Her paws treading next to Maddie. She figured she should probably just try with her. Since she was going to be alone with her most of the day, especially if they couldn't convince Alyona to take a break. With a small purr. She pushed her hand under Maddie's palm. Finally speaking to Maddie she let out a small purr. "What were you thinking of doing at the bash?” She asked trying to behave with Maddie.

Maddie took the lead attached the harness and began the walk to the city centre, thinking hard about Shira’s question. “It’s the last day, so...probably go round the whole thing again just in case there’s anything I didn’t see before?” It was a little ridiculous given the size of the festivities but it’s not as if this kind of celebration happens every day. Besides, she hadn’t been able to attend every day of the festival either. Some of the flowers decorating the area were her own and it had taken a lot of preparation to make them last the entire week even after being cut, and there were always last minute changes with an event of this scale which meant she had been confined to the shop more than she liked.

“There’s also a jewellery stand I definitely want to stop by again. I saw the cutest hairpin that would look great on Alyona. Is there anything you want to check out?”

“We can go around again, it is ridiculously large for a festival.” Shira said and walked silently beside Maddie till she spoke up again. She nods to the jewellery comment, Shira couldn't understand beings fascination with glittering stone. “There was a familiar shop I wanted to go to, and probably see Karn and the devil twins.” She said. She knew Karn and by extension the twins. Who tended to get into trouble a lot. Shira stopped when she saw a bird and crouched low jumping she grabbed it mid air and brought it down. Proudly bringing it up to Maddie she set it at her feet and sat staring at her proudly waiting for praise. She did have cat like instincts and catching prey for her was definitely a pride thing, her tail twitching happily.

“Then we’ll stop by there too,” Maddie agreed, pausing as she recognised the hunch Shira went into before she pounced. She didn’t exactly enjoy seeing the animals hunted down by her wife’s familiar but she’d accepted that Shira was a cat and this sort of thing was going to happen. Wasn’t it supposed to be a kind of show of affection anyway? Thinking that their owners are just big, useless cats who don’t know how to hunt properly and needed to be shown? Plus even Madeleine could understand that catching a bird midair like that was impressive.

“Good job, Shira. I didn’t even see it,” She smiled, reaching down to offer her a scritch behind the ear.

Shira let out a loud purr at the praise and the scratch behind the ear. She stood at her heels as they started to walk again towards the bash. When they reached the stand that Maddie had wanted to look at Shira found shade sat and lay down crossing her paws as she waited for Maddie to look and get what she wanted.

Maddie scanned the stall’s wares, looking for the hairpin she had seen the other day. A simple metallic piece with a geometric design. It wasn’t anything fancy but it had made Maddie think of Alyona when she saw it, and given her wife’s tendency to keep her hair tied back when working it seemed like a good choice. Handing over the money Maddie tucked the small paper bag she received into her purse before rejoining Shira to resume wandering round the festival.

“Okay, all done. Let's go find that stall you mentioned with the, um, 'devil twins'?”

Where had that woman went off to? She takes her eyes off of Sephiria for one second to look over some booth sales and the witch had vanished on her. The young Indiana woman groaned as she pushed past people on the streets. Passing by stalls she ignored the want to pander and look over the wares. Being the familiar for such an energetic person was troublesome at times. The Red Rose Witch worked hard and never missed a beat when it came to things. It was admirable but annoying. "Ugh screw this stupid human form.." The black haired woman snapped as she began to shift quickly turning into a wolf. Using her nose she began to sniff out for Sephiria, the scent would be easy to pick out of all the ones crowding her nostrils. Sophistication had a distinct allure to it compared to all the filth that clung to her nose. Soon Aiyana found her way into Yeager Hall and her eyes found Red in the mix. Homing in she shifted back and placed a hand on the other's shoulder.

"There you are." She grumbled as her eyes looked at Nimhue. No words were said as the woman stood behind her charge. Then again she spoke very little and when she did it could all be heard wrong, or right. She never denied being a bitch to some extent. But humans often bored her or mortals at that. She only had time to serve Sephiria who more so became a friend over the years. When it came to anyone else Aiyana was cold. Her eyes checking the other up and down, taking in every ounce of detail. Something she often did over anything and everything.

The red witch places her drink down after taking a sip. "We need sleep yes but when busy you don't get much of it. Their is only so much anyone else can help with and sadly I don't think there is much you can help with either Nim." Sephiria starts "Wine like chocolate or anything really is unhealthy when you have to much of it. Besides red wine drunk in correct portions is good for your heart. I'm not drinking enough to do much harm." With that said the rosette began to eat her food once more. Even eating the woman seemed elegant and ladylike hard to believe she came from nothing but even then she seemed to hold herself like a noble woman anyways.

It wasn't much longer before a voice grumbles from behind her. Hearing Aiyana's voice made her jump a bit and looks down at her shoulder to find her familiar no longer draped around her shoulders. Perhaps earlier when she was passing back and forth yelling the little fox of many tails got bored or got distracted by a shop near by. That had to be the reason she left her shoulders but after that Sephiria assumed she walked off leavening her without realization occurring till now. "Sorry, Aiyana. You could have continued to explore. I'm sure you would have wanted to shop. But since your here sit down and enjoy something to eat. Or to make it up to you how about I cook you up a big juicy steak? Anything to your liking honestly." She says with a soft smile gesturing to the seat next to her aposing Nim.[/fieldbox]

Metal bars filled her sight when she opened her eyes.

But they did not even bother her anymore.

The row of mute restriction had become a part of her life as much as the dirt on the floor or the lack of light, artificial or natural. If it were not for the tiny light on the wall of her cell, she would have lost both sight and sanity a long time ago... However, as it was, she could only wish that it would break. Its cover had proven resistant to her fists, no matter how she tried and she had lost her strength a long time ago. She could feel it in her bones. While her legs could still support her, her grip slipped all too often. She had trouble drawing her spine straight. She could barely will herself to get up. But worst of all, she felt she slept days without an end.

Whether this held true or not, Diana had no way of telling. Time had ceased to flow her the moment her captors threw her into the cell. Oh, she tried to find ways to keep time, trusting half-remembered fragments of her memory, yet whenever she woke up, they disappeared. Almost as though the walls absorbed them. Or maybe her captors could erase the marks she left. She never could find out; between the lack of food, the continous attempts and racing thoughts, she had not had enough time. By the time the worst of it died down, she remained alone with a haze in her mind.

That, along with the mysterious voices.

Once again, they whispered.

Sweet chants in a foreign tongue.

Writhing to a chaotic rhythm.

Seizing her desperate fingers.

Coiling around a sore throat.

Taking the scavanged shard of a broken mirror, Diana let them guide her motions, for she figured the normal world had given up on her. Her captivity's broken eternity refused to yield to any policeman, private investigator or concerned citizen. No, her only hope lay in the promises her twisted dreams carried with them. Because no matter how little sense they made, they offered a way out. A chance for her to undo her chains and once again see the blue skies. Oh, how she wished to reach for them again! To be out in the world and hold her parents with a fierce hug! To tell mother and father she would be by their side!

Pitiful? Perhaps. But Diana wished for it from the bottom of her soul and she poured her feelings into the oath her voices required of her.

"Ó, régi börtönök nyugalma, szép
és régimódi szenvedés, halál
költőhalál, fennkölt és hősi kép,
tagolt beszéd, mely hallgatót talál, -
mily messzi már. A semmiségbe lép,
ki most mozdulni mer. A köd szitál.
A valóság, mint megrepedt cserép,
nem tart már formát és csak arra vár,
hogy szétdobhassa rossz szilánkjait.

Mi lesz most azzal, aki míg csak él,
amíg csak élhet, formában beszél
s arról, mi van, - ítélni így tanít.

S tanítna még. De minden szétesett.
Hát ül és néz. Mert semmit sem tehet."

Poetry. It felt as though she lifted honey to her dry lips. Though she choked several times quoting the lines and the meaning no longer embedded itself into her heart, she thought of the sounds as important. Crucial. The key to her freedom. Writ in her native tongue, she failed to understand the macabre significance lurking behind a dying poet's words, but she repeated them anyways.

In response, the voices in her head chittered happily. Pleasure entered their alien tones and yet, Diana had the sense they were looking for a different kind of sacrifice. While her unsteady, clumsy voice soothed their desires, it failed to satisfy... But they remained elusive about their wants. Some wished for more poetry. Others wanted to take her fingers away. Still others seemed intent on devouring her thoughts. And some few insisted on blood. Not her own: a live corpse, dissected to their specifications, then prayed over.

Diana tried to ignore them. They grinned in return, for it was only a matter of time until she reached for their help.

Rebecca always closed up her little mediumship stall early on the last of Monster Mash. It was her chance to get out and see the rest of the festival. The necromancer spoke a brief incantation, and her stall folded itself up and jumped into her pocket of its own accord. She might not have been good with enchantments, but having friends who were was a help.

The small witch started walking around, taking in the sights, sounds, and smells on her way to the feast. Grabbing a plate of eggs, she sat down at a table and started eating.

“Kari!~”

Kali sung her sisters name happily, jumping slightly as she wrapped her arms around her white haired twins neck. She leaned closer, pecking her twins cheek before stepping away. “Got some cash~.”. Shifting herself once more, she repeated her greeting with Karn, pulling him into a hug as she chuckled softly. “Some people are really easy~ I wonder how guilty she will feel for what she is going to do~”

A snicker came to her lips as her sister came flying up and hugging her. “Nice. I got some lady to hand over the only thing left from her son, gold necklace. Leave it in the pawn basket it's been enchanted and the spirit attached is slightly mad.” She said. Karin smirked at her sister and looked around her. "Want to cause some mischief together?” She asked raising a eyebrow.

Before either could say another word, he saw Kali come up to them and embraced him in a hug. “Haven’t you two caused enough mischief for one day?” Karn queried raising a brow as he hugged her back chuckling a bit. Turning to the face the pawn basket, he picked up the necklace and began to examine it. As he held it, he immediately had to put it down. “It's more than mad. Or so I feel but then again it might be my own abilities.” He moved from the two of them and sat back down as he continued to sharpen her blades. One of the things he loved doing was sharpening her blades when they were working a booth. It actually relaxed him since there were times he wanted to lash out on customers, due to the protector that he was.

Kari went to warn him not to touch it she was thankful when put it down immediately. She picked it up with the bag and put it back in the basket and shoved it under a black silk scarf. She didn't want Kali or Karn to get there hands on it again. “Oh Karn you worry to much about us we like to cause mischief I really wish you would get behind us with this sometimes. We are always fine aren't we?” She asked him. She walked over and leaned down to kiss his cheek. Standing she walked back to her twin. “ Come on Kali what you say?” She asked gently.

A chuckle broke her silence as her eyes danced with mirth, hip cocked and a large grin resting upon her lips as she turned to stare at Karn. “Come on, Karn!~ There is never enough mischief you know!” She pointed out before shrugging her shoulders lazily. “As long as there is are people stupid enough to ask us for favours, we will be there to fulfil them - for money of course.” Settling her hands on her waist, she turned to her sister then. “Though, we never once said we were honest and good people, deals have loopholes and we might as well get some fun out of them, right?”. Stopping herself for a moment she walked over to the stall and fished out the purse of money she had hid, not wanting to carry it on herself and shoved the money away. They were thieves themselves, she wasn’t going to carry money around like that for some other pickpocket to steal while she was busy tending to someone. Turning back around after hiding her purse once more, Kali skipped back over to the other two. “So, who do we target next?~”

Kari hid her money in a pouch that, only she could open it was magically locked. She looked around and smirked. “She has a point Karn. You knew we weren't the most honest people.” Karin said with a wink to her familiar. She turned to her sister. “ Well we could do someone looking for a deal.” She said and looked around and nods, to two females. “Everyone has secrets and a past. Why not try those two.”She said. She smirked and walked over to the two woman. “You look like you could use a little help from magic.”She said. She winked at them and the girls looked at on another then shrugged walking over with Karin to the booth. She looked at her tein with a small smirk. “ what is your deepest desire that you wish more than anything in the world. Just tell me and sign this bit of parchment and it will be yours. Oh it will be a bit of coin. You just have to decide if it's worth it to you to have what you always desired, just ask my twin here." She said and put her arm around Kali in what would seem sweet and loving, which it was, but there was definitely more meaning to it. “ How do we know you two aren't frauds?” one of the girls asked. “Good Question “ She looks at her sister and slightly nodded for her to show off her wonderful skills. She would take some of there coin while her sister distracted. She would warn then of the price they would pay after they signed. She knew Kali could convince them.

“I know and yet here I am.” He said with a smirk. He didn’t mind them causing mischief just as long Karin didn’t hurt herself doing it. Karn watched the two sisters walk over to the two females and convince them into falling into their mischief. He had finished sharpening her blades, placed them back in their proper place carefully, and pulled out a spell book to read. Usually at a booth he was either in wolf form asleep or in his human form doing something to occupy his boredom. There were times he would do something for coin but today he didn’t feel like it. Something in the air had him on edge and he rather be cautious than reckless when it came to him doing something. His eyes darted about the pages as he read spell after spell while listening to the twins have their fun.

Kali had watched her sister with a sense of mischievous glee, her smile only growing till it was almost cheshire, pearly white teeth showing. He own arms had twisted around her twist, hugging her happily as she settled her head on her twin’s shoulder for a moment. “And it has an easy answer.” The younger twin cooed sweetly, plucking herself from her twins grip as she sauntered over to one of the two women, expression already softening. “For ladies as lovely as yourself, we will try and grant whatever your heart desires~” Kali plucked the delicately painted, magically embedded cards from her bag as she spread them in her grip. “Be it a chance as wonderous luck, sweet love or even the chance to speak to those no longer with us…” She threw her arms up with her usual theatrics. “Whatever it is, we will grant it for a price. If you do not believe us...then, how about I show you something?~”. The two women looked to another briefly, caution still in there gaze before they nodded.

Briefly, Kali slid her gaze to her twin to see if she was planning to take the girls money why she distracted them before she returned her attention. While Kali was holding the woman’s attention, Karin snuck around to pick pocket the woman and steal a few coins here and there. She did only enough, that it wouldn't be noticed since they would still ask for payment. She watched as her sister fanned the cards and made her way back to her side as she hid a small smirk.

Kali plucked three cards from the formation, the blank sides facing the women. A sly grin and a slight narrowing of her gaze later metallic silver whisps began to spark from her fingers, swishing and coiling around the cards as slowly, the embedded magic began to fester and appear. One bad luck, one good luck and one for love. Each card depicted a different, beautifully crafted scene. Bad luck of tragedy crumpled to the ground, Good luck of comedy surrounded by glittering stars of gold and silver while love appeared as two genderless humanoid forms, comprised of dark space filled with silver specks for stars pulled into one another's embrace. Once the wisps of magic was gone, she grinned wider. “Here is three cards, love, bad luck and good luck. You each pick a card take it with you. The magic will stay with you for a while and surround you with what you essentially pick! Don’t worry, it is not harmful~”.

The two women shrugged lazily, almost unbelieving of the cards as Kali flipped them around and shuffled them till the three cards were upside down. “Go ahead, pick~”. Kali had just chuckled softly as each woman plucked a card and flipped it over. Good luck and bad luck. Kali slipped the card love back into her pocket as she turned to watch the same silver dusted magic slip from the cards and wrap itselves around each woman’s wrist. Unfortunately, they were very short lasting in their effects as Kali had very little time to embed magic in those particular cards. “Good luck and bad…~ Well, I can’t say what’ll happen from here but keep an eye out, hm?~” They looked at her in disbelief, unbelieving of the magic that had only seconds ago coiled around them tauntingly. The one who picked bad luck...she looked horrified much to Kali’s fortune so that was who she addressed.“I would hate to see a wonderful lady like you suffer, so be careful for the next few days.” With that, Kali twisted to look at her twin, passing the spotlight of their act back to her.

Karina smirked when the attention was directed back to her. She nod to her sister and looked at the two woman. “Now this will last much longer than my wonderful sisters magic. Whatever you desire it is yours However all magic comes at a price. You have what you have ever wanted fame, fortune and love, but your years will be cut in half.”She said leaving out the bit about their souls belonging to her when they entered the after life. “It is all personally worth it short life to live it how you have always wanted to live it. All you have to do is sign the contract.”She said and held out a feathered pen. “Don't worry no one will find out.”She said in a soft enticing voice. She smiled when each took the pen to sign their own contracts. The pen had used their own blood to write and it made it Ironclad. With a snap the contracts rolled up and sealed themselves winding up in her hand. She held out her hand.”Coins please and Thank you for coming enjoy your new life when you wake up in the morning you're new lives will begin.”She said.

As they walked off, Karina smirked and looked at her sister. “Forgot to mention the bit about their souls being mine, but, I guess they will find out.”She said with small wicked grin spreading across her face. She set the coins in her sister's hands. “ Nice work.”She said with a smile and wink. She went to sit in Karns lap and leaned back happily. Two illegal contracts under her belt and she was flying. She wondered if Dimitri would be impressed with her and her sister.

Kali had watched her sister with a sly smirk, hands settled on her waist as she waited for it to end. The act had to stay up till the prey were gone. Curling her hand around the coins she followed her older twin back to the stall, dropping the coins into her purse that she fished out from its hiding spot. This time however, she dropped the purse into her bag. “It really isn’t our fault if people don’t pay attention, you know~” She cooed before dragging herself to sit herself on the stall table, folding one leg over the other. “We are just surviving…” Kali added, her tone softer as she yawned. Though trying to make sure another survived was more accurate...having fun while doing so was just the bonus here.

Karn placed the book down as she sat in his lap wrapping his arms around her. “That we are, and yet after all these years of me being with you Kari. I still can’t wrap my head around the things you do at times. But I understand why. Whoever you are gaining these contracts for must have something worth your while. Even then knowing that has me on edge. Are you sure you can trust him?” At this point he was being protective and cautious. Kari looked at her familiar and scoffed slightly. "Shakra may be my tutor, but I am not doing the contracts for him Karn." She said“No matter what happens I’m still loyal to you.” He said holding her close. With a grande smile she sighed and looks at him. "I love you too Karn."She said smiling brightly. Thoughts of their past filled his thoughts especially one, when something tried to hurt her and he paid for the consequences with his life. He nuzzled his head against her neck as they talked. Karn wasn’t one for crowds and feeling all the energy around him from others wasn’t helping. Usually he focused his thoughts and energy on Karina as a way to keep calm and not shift in public.

Kari looked at the crowd relaxing and titled her head. "Hey look Karn your friend Shira and that Nymph is here with her. Don't worry no tricks."She told him. "They are headed this way."She nods and stands gently.
