This is the city of Slater Haven, a sprawling crime ridden and brooding metropolis of about six million inhabitants. The most interesting and disturbing fact about Slater Haven is not the city's crime, politics or drugs, it's who in fact lives here. Slater Haven has the highest concentration of vampires in the continental United States. The blood sucking night walkers are everywhere from the city's top ranking politicians to the vagrants begging on the streets. The vampire population is more or less an open secret that is just barely hidden from the rest of Humanity. The two main vampire Houses that control Slater Haven are the Stri'Goi House and the Feratu House which have been at odds for centuries. However now tensions are at an all time high and the two powerful vampire covens are on the brink of all out war. However in the midst of this, there seems to be a more immediate problem. A sadistic serial killer is roaming the streets of Slater Haven and he/she seems to be targeting vampires in brutal fashion. The killer employs all the traditional vampire hunting and killing methods of ancient and contemporary tradition. Their calling card is leaving a "Welcome to Slater Haven" sign post replacing Slater with Slayer. As such the various media and newspapers began to dub the city "Slayer Haven". This seems to be only the tip of the iceberg as various agencies suspect that there is more than one killer, possibly the start of a new and dangerous faction of Human Vampire Slayers now occupying the city. With war just on the horizon between the two main vampire Houses and a dangerous new threat of a contingent of vampire hunters on the loose, Slater Haven has become a volatile powder keg of chaos, murder and conspiracy.

****So this RP will be a somewhat unique take on the vampire genre. The vampires of this universe share a number of tropes with traditional vampire lore, such as drinking blood, weaknesses to garlic, silver and sunlight. However this latter weakness is subjective to different individuals as some vampires have taken a different evolutionary path and do have limited tolerance to sunlight. These vampires are a pure biological species and have no mystical or supernatural qualities. They are simply a more evolved offshoot of the Human Family, like Neanderthals and Homo Erectus. Vampires also operate within dynastic covens known as Houses, however there are many vampires who swear no allegiance to any particular House and operate as free agents of sorts. Also not all vampires are created equal. There are two main divisions of vampire...The First Bloods and the Turned. The First Bloods are natural vampires and were born as such. They are generally stronger, faster and more agile than their Turned counterparts. The Turned however are normal Humans(refereed to as Sapiens) which were bitten and trans mutated into vampires. They are above Sapiens but are treated with prejudice by the First Bloods and are seen more or less as second class citizens.

Bio: Darrian is the product of two Turned vampire parents. In a strange biological quirk, two Turned vampires can produce a First Blood. Darrian's adoptive father was a sinful priest named Father Pedro Fransicuss. Father Pedro was a corrupt man of the cloth operating in the territory of Alta California in the old American west of 1883. Father Pedro had fallen prey to greed and vice mostly indulging in his lust of the flesh. One night, he visited one his favorite bordellos when a certain working girl he had never seen before, caught his eye. Within no time the preist had her in one of the back rooms ready to engage in all kinds of carnal pleasures, when the beautiful woman suddenly attacked him. The woman was a vampire and with eye blurring speed, had sunk her teeth into the Father's neck, beggining to bleed him out. Inexplicably Father Pedro somehow managed to fight her off and even succeded in killing the vampire, much to his shock and surprise. The damage had been done however as he felt the agony of the wound on his neck bleeding profusely. As he stammered about the room he found a small boy crouched in a closet, seemingly on the brink of starvation. This turned out to be the vampire female's young son. It seemed she intended to feed the wayward preist to her boy as he seemed starved for blood. Father Pedro improvised a makeshift wooden stake and fully intended on killing the little vampire child. However as he contemplated his actions he had a change of heart. Looking at the corpse of the boy's mother on the ground, Father Pedro felt that God himself was speaking to him and came to the revealtion that this was divine punishment from the Almighty for leading such a sinful life and that he needed to repent and atone. As such he decided he would raise the little vampire as his own in an act of redemption. As Father Pedro transmutated into a vampire himself due to the bite he received, he decided to use his curse for good. He named the boy Darrian, which meant "To Atone" in ancient Latin and as he grew, taught him to never feed off the blood of the innocent.

Darrian grew into a strong First Blood and took the teachings of his adoptive father to heart. Deeply religious and committed to his faith, Darrian seeks to redeem himself for being born a vampire. He will only feed off the blood of animals or dead cadavers and has dedicated his life to try to make a positive impact. In the ensuing decades, he has fought in both world wars and has aided some of the most influential figures in history including Martin Luther King, John F. Kennedy and George S. Patton. Sometime in the early 1990's he took up residence in Slater Haven where he eventually became a police detective. Over the years he has become embroiled in the power struggle between the vampire houses of Stri'Goi and Feratu, however he refuses to join either, mostly staying out of the bitter feud between the two factions. However Darrian might soon be forced to choose a side as an all out war threatens to spill over onto the streets.
 
I like the flushed out universe you've created, this is an interesting concept, although the topic of vampires is an oversaturrated one it never gets old if you make something interesting out of it, which you have, is this still open?

Once getting out of highschool he became a freelance photographer and makes decent money, but there's something about Sebastian that nobody but him knows, he's not happy, he doesn't have any friends and him and his family are estranged, going to work everyday in monotonous motion, waiting for the day when he'll be given purpose besides taking photos for the tabloids. Sebastian is unaware of the bloodsucking presence that infests his city, only hearing rumors from fellow workers in the break room during lunch hours.

Ella grew up with her family in Slater Haven, she had lived a good life. Her parents were middle class, so she never really had to worry about much growing up. Ella always had dreams of becoming a writer, though after many attempts this dream seemed it would not turn out the way she planned. One day though she met a man who told her he would help her get her stuff published. She was only 25 at the time, still naive to the ways of Slater Haven.
This gentlemen ( Who she calls Logan) asked her to meet at his place. Just excited to actually get her career off the ground Ella thought nothing of it. After going up to his penthouse, she could tell this man was made of money and believe he could probably actually help her. The last thing she remembers of the moment was sitting on his couch, then being grabbed from behind with a burning sensation on her neck. From that moment on she has been working for him as his secretary.
Soon after she was turned knowing that her friends and family would notice she was no longer aging, she left without a trace. She knew it was better for everyone if she was not around, she did not want to end up hurting them one day. Ella has fed on other humans before, which she regrets deeply. Now she tries to only hunt animals but even that makes her guilty. Watching the life drain from a living creature was something she could still not get over.
