Shawn tilted his head, trying to process everything that they were saying. Though he faked being psychic and only had advanced sight that allows him to quickly examine clues, he understood that there was a real supernatural force here. He got that Bones and Abby were human, but some of the other team mates were undead. He wasn't even going to ask when they tried these tests and turned to Ned. " Well, it seems that you are able to help them and as long as no other humans are around, I should be able to work with that as the alien plant lady can give me as much information as humanely possible. I think I can find a way to phrase my words, so that she can know also," he replied, trying to smile.

Ned nodded and looked at him. " So, when exactly do you want me to do this?" He asked him curiously.

"Now. We're rolling out in a few minutes." Sampson said, placing a phone call to get the mobile lab brought to their location. "If you have anything else you want for this, now is the time to ask."

" Yes sir, I understand sir... no local involvement sir. A report to you when it's over sir. Take Agent Rae... Yes sir. Good night sir. "

Out of her small local hotel room and onto her secure mobile phone to contact Agent Rae by text.

There was simply an address with the words.... 30 minutes. Eden.

"Oh yay. Fury's pulling a marker on me again. At least it's with a partner and someone I can stand." Tamara looked at the text for a moment or two before responding.

"What if I were having sex- nevermind. I'll be there." I texted back, as I suited up in standard SHIELD garb, then I tossed an overcoat over that - and brought a more civilian set of clothes in a duffel. Since, Eden didn't say covert or overt.

I was there in 20 minutes.

"So... what's up?"

@Gands @Ringmaster

Eden had gotten their in roughly the same amount of time.

" Rae, the boss says their is something fishy going on here. Suspicious hedonistic goings on. You know the boss when he has a hunch."

Eden was dressed in black unmarked armor with what Rae could tell were fancy electronic goggles. The senior agent led Rae into the place. The first time someone tried to stop them, he froze up. Eden stared at him for just another moment.

S.H.I.E.L.D. File: The Gunslinger.

The Gunslinger is a legacy for a group of alternate world descendents of the Round Table. Melting the weapons of the table into revolvers, what texts exist on their existence paint them as protectors. They are also all but extinct, wiped out in a mysterious event our psychics and seers are blind to. Over all the visions of the Gunslinger they can glean, is the image of a great, black tower and a presence of immense corruption and rot.

In the midst of it, the Gunslinger is sensed like a single candle in the dark, escorted by Hell Hounds as the shadow of a dragon engulfs him.

On the practical side, the Gunslinger never seems to hold down a single location, moving and making waves among the magical side of the world. Word is he's seeking something out.

Only question really, is what.

-------

The presence of the Gunslinger in Zero was like a drop of blood in the water. Small as it was, it's presence drew sharks and all of them hungry. A few guests in the midst of drugs, sex and other vices found themselves left behind. A male stripper in a bow tie immediately stopped his dance, following in the wake of the man in black. A woman with electric tape over her nipples and a thong slid up from her position, leaving her partners behind as she walked with a panthers grace in his wake.

Before them, Lucifer narrowed his eyes as he stroked the handles of his pistols.

It was a perfect distraction for the agents to arrive, who noted a conspicuously open metal door and further along the tunnel, two corpses that looked dead for years, already partway dust. Inside the club, the music pounded like a living thing.

And then came a sound of screaming, as guests began to rush the entrance.

"Aw. And here I was going to laser his face to get him to bail." I sniped. "So, other than... well nearly everyone here, is there something or someone in particular we are af...ter?"

"I'm guessing that's our cue." I reached out with all of my senses. Hearing, seeing, smelling and feeling just about everything in a 50 yard radius and working hard to filter out all the crap to find out what was important - other than the fleeing mob.

The mentalist agent strained for a moment as the first several in the rushing crowd stopped in their tracks, the second and third set crashed into the unexpected foot traffic jam and became a tangled mess before they too seemed to freeze up.

" Try to hurry dear, won't you ? and no, I'm not sure what to look for yet either. "

The fourth set of people managed to stop prior to getting themselves tangled in the pile of bodies and went a different direction, though no less noisy.

@Michale CS @Ringmaster

The chemicals, fear and sweat among other bodily fluids was too overpowering. Even the bullets of the Gunslinger had been drowned out when he first fired them. But once you moved past the strobe lights, the drugs, the screams and more? Rae would see the following. In an alcove lounge, a naked, skinny man would be held aloft over the edge of the railing by one hand. It's owner, a violent looking throwback who looked to be bringing back 'frontier justice'. Behind him, two similarly shriveled bodies would be curled up, the remains of two special bodyguards.

His lips moved silently, drowned out by the noise as it formed the following.

"----Is----Dark----?!"

And with a universal motion, the free hand held up a massive revolver, thumbing off the safety.

-------

"Crazed gunman!"

Yelled a man in tiger-striped bodypaint, as he tried to move over the fallen. It was a similar enough cry, followed by 'monsters!'

Okay. So, this dude may be some wild-west version of Blade. Jonah Hex? Who knows, but one thing I didn't want to happen was for dude to blow away the naked dude - no matter who was the good guy or bad guy. But I only had two ways of affecting that. One, I could draw my SHIELD Issued ICER and hope it worked on the guy with the hand cannon fast enough to where he'd not just squeeze off the round... or I could use my T-Ray. Didn't want to burn either of them directly but maybe I could distract him?

I took a deep breath and concentrated, staring at the spot I wanted to burn. Unless you could see into the X-ray spectrum like I could, it was all you saw. My eyes traced from the railing, down to the alcove, and between the skinny guy and up to, stopping between the feet of the shooter. Where my eyes tracked, the X-ray laser cut through effortlessly, causing railing to fall away and a black groove appeared in the floor along the line I traced.

I drew the ICER and said, "Put the weapon down, and step away from the railing." What I was expecting from what I was detecting is for the guy to put a bullet in the naked guy and shoot at me next, because, let's face it, my options were limited by the time I arrived on the scene. Thankfully, I react quickly and my partner could make people literally freeze, so I took a risk.

Eden scooted over just a smidge to peek through the hole. Reaching out Telepathically for contact only...

She kept a finger on his emotions and the barest of surface thoughts to pull herself and Rae away incase he was in fact the bad guy and not just an odd antihero. Rae will notice a hand clutching at her belt on her back so Eden could pull her away if necessary.

"Oh god be praised, you saved me!"

Sheer relief flooded the body of the dangling man, as he smiled and grinned. With a mocking smile towards his captor, he responded gloatingly.

"Well now my thuggish friend, I believe I will only press charges and not ruin you utterly as I-urk!"

Around his neck, the fingers of the Gunslinger squeezed.

He was a tall figure, clad in black. Dressed like a Western gunslinger, his eyes blazed red with a hundred tons of fury in a five pound box. His thoughts were focused intensely on the man in his grip, a name flitting in her mind.

Jesus DeSade.

Followed quickly by a quick image of a book, followed by more anger.

This was a very, angry man. Perpetually so, living life in a state of constant fury. But beneath it all was sorrow enough to fill the seas and guilt enough to drown the world. Such was the state of the Gunslinger. A moment later, he spoke grimly.

"Walk away while you can. Man's my lawful prey."

I was reminded of a movie I saw some time back, about hostage situations like this. Shoot the hostage. Take him out of the equation. But all I had was the ICER and all it would do would be put him unconscious. I had backup, though. A woman who could paralyze pretty well anyone, and multiple people at once, even metas.

So, I squeezed off two rounds. One, targeting the old guy, center mass, the second, I walked the gun over a few inches and courtesy of a low-power x-ray laser acting like a targeting sight, the face of the bounty hunter.

I totally thought of saying I was SHIELD or that he was out of his jurisdiction but I wasn't going to give him time to think. I would use my accelerated reflexes and not my smartass mouth for once.

Hey, there was a first time for everything.

She sighs, everyone has to do this the hard way she thinks to herself.

Telepathically again to the gunslinger.

{{ " Stop, let me interrogate him, much easier. I get the idea you aren't really the bad guy here. Local cops will be onsite soon enough. Let me get to him... We can help..... Who or what are you after?"}}

Immediately thereafter, she dove into the ugly twisted mind of the naked man, searching for " Dark "

@Ringmaster @Michale CS

By the time the shot had been fired by T-Rae, he was already moving. He released the man he was after, not particularly caring if the scum hit the ground thirty feet below. Maybe he'd break his fall on a pile of cushions, maybe not. He dismissed him with only a brief snarl of frustration. He was already rolling, keeping on motion on the grounds that a fixed position was a bad one. Out came Baskerville, the revolver aimed for T-Rae as he squeezed the trigger with the ease of practice.

There was a resounding click and none was more surprised than him, from the look on his face.

So he altered his plans, kept rolling till he went off the side himself and out of sight. Landing with considerably more grace than his quarry, he dove for cover behind an upended table near the stage. As music echoed and lights flashed, he checked his gun.

Loaded. He snapped the chamber closed and peered oddly at Baskerville in contemplation.

The weapons of the Gunslingers were forged from the swords of the Knights of the Round. Arthur Eld's own Excalibur itself had been the metal to forge the penultimate weapons of the Deschain bloodline. For him? Arondight, blade of the greatest knight of the Round had chosen him when the time came. They had shot everything he had asked of them. But they would not shoot an innocent.

Neither monster, nor witch despite the voice in his head. Out came Samael as well, both pistols laid in hand as he took a deep breath and closed his eyes. He listened to the guns as his kind were wont to do, seeking out the spirit in iron before murmuring quietly.

"I have forgotten the face of my father."

Words in his head again. Intentions confusing, seeking to assure him. He scowled and decided that he couldn't risk it. And then from the shattered remains of a table, a groan made him recall that his target was there yet. He glanced over the table, frowned...And bolted out of cover. He flipped onto the stage, the roar of Samael echoing over the music as the screams of DeSade filled the air.

"MY KNEE!"

He couldn't kill DeSade- he needed him, for one. But he made for a suitable distraction if they were here for him, and he ran for backstage. His guns flashing in hand as he fired off trick-shot after trick-shot, covering his escape and aiming to miss before ducking backstage.

And with that, he was gone. Possible to pursue, but that would mean leaving DeSade with a massive bullet hole in his knee cap as even now, he bled out.

In his mind, DeSade would be overwhelmed by pain and shock, prompting a relaxation of his mental barriers...And coming upon a book, leather bound and being exchanged by a small, smiling girl and a smiling man with the strangest accessory.

A noose set where a necktie would normally be.

@Michale CS @Gands

Dude. He was crazy fast. I also had a moment of dread as he pulled the trigger, but the click made me actually laugh aloud, until I heard him shoot the old guy in the knee. Eden looked... busy, that far off look when someone's stuck inside their head. Or someone else's.

So, I grabbed the anti-coagulant that was SHIELD issue off my belt and the nearest discarded bit of cloth to start working on saving the old guy's life while my partner poked around in his head.

"Fuckin' vigilantes." I murmured, fully aware of the irony that I usually was one myself.

She had been prepared to pull Rae to safety, but that sense didn't go off meaning there would be no danger... so no pulling. She felt him move off, but his.... prey... was still here. She separated her perception, followed him and obtained a good mental fingerprint. Something she could use to contact him again.

She went to the fallen nude man, following Rae. His shortcomings were rather obvious. His mental state filled with pain. Visions as his mind faded... the smiling man with the noose necktie stuck hard in her head. A book... a woman accompanying the man. The man would not die on their watch, slipping into a coma for the moment. highlights of past memories indicated he would not be worth saving. Memories of this night would be easy to hide, she used the body's own defense mechanism. Memories of her and Rae would simply not be there.

Shield double coded phone, making contact.

"Me? A five-year old Mazda RX-8. It's got some guts but I'm not going to be in The Fast and the Furious any time soon. We just leaving pastybutt here while backup is on the way?" I asked, cocking my head.

I'd finished patching him up, wondering what sick shit she'd seen in whatever brain she'd been poking around in, still marveling at the fact cowboy had dodged an ICER bullet.

As we headed for the car, I made a couple comments.
"What, no scolding for provoking psycho cowboy or for missing my shot? Oh, and toss any books you find on the passenger seat into the back. I do a lot of reading."

And in fact there were a couple books. A dissertation by Dr. David Banner on ultra high frequency electromagnetic radiation and a book on the study of Inhumans and the effects of the Terrigen Mist.

I got behind the wheel, started up the car and said,
"OK, where to?"

The psychic imprint had vanished, midway through his movement backstage. A lingering sense of his presence seemed to be all that remained, even as the pair secured DeSade.

"Copy that. Incoming owners, stay sharp."

Thanks to the pair of them heading to the parking lot first, they would be in perfect position to see who pulled up in a limousine.

An angry, gorgeous looking redhead in a black fur coat, escorted by bodyguards.

A moment later, the comm came back.

"They're diverting police. Seems they wanna look into this case personally."

" I don't blame them, plenty of questionable things going on, now dead bodies. "

As agent Eden Haller, she waited for the property owner, unaffected by the potential worldly power of this individual.

Under her breath to Rae...

" Let me do the talking as the senior agent Rae "

She continues to mentally monitor the area for the gunslinger's mental fingerprint, incase he reappears.

"Not the first time people have told me to shut up. Fine by me." I shrugged, since we were suddenly not chasing cowboy and waiting to do the PR and paperwork that I don't care for anyway. Still, something about that look on the cowboy's face when his gun misfired when he tried to shoot me was bugging me. He looked really surprised. Not annoyed, like a misfire would normally make people feel. Genuine WTF was on his face. I didn't know what to make of that.
