There's magic nestled in the little tea and treats shop that takes on a brightly obscure theme. If a customer knows how to order a special tea off of the secret menu, then they will be given an experience of their lifetime. Upon drinking the tea, they will feel drowsy. Will they fall asleep or shake it off? No matter how they react, they will soon find that the room they are in no longer looks quite the same. They have been transported to a world that is unlike their own. It is a special kind of wonderland.

This roleplay is between @Dao Ma and @Tabitha

The WonderCafé

It's late morning, just before lunch time. For one reason or another, you have decided to try out WonderCafé as your place of sanctuary. It opened only a few months ago, but from any reviews you have seen, it has had nothing but good reception. There are a few other patrons sitting around at various tables while a couple others decide to stand by the counter to look over the menus. They chatter quietly to themselves, not wanting to disturb the peace and tranquility the music and atmosphere gives off.

From a couple nearby, you hear them asking one of the waitresses about their special teas. The waitress seems to smile a little more and nods politely as she jots down their order and then heads behind the bar to get what they desired. A secret menu for a café? it wasn't exactly unheard of, but this place didn't scream anything of the sort.

Whatever decided to compel you, when a waitress comes to the small table you have settled yourself in, you decide to order the tea as well. She looks at you curiously for a moment, but then smiles warmly and nods, before doing the same as the other waitress. The peace within the café has not been disturbed. Everything is going fairly well.

Maybe about five minutes later, the waitress comes back with a tray, She gently places the tray down before you, revealing that on the tray is a glass teapot, a glass cup, a small porcelain canister of tea leaves, and a complimentary pastry sweet. The waitress smiles warmly once more as she prepares you a cup of tea. A pot of boiling hot water is brought over for the waitress and she opens the lid of the glass teapot. A couple teaspoons of tea leaves are dumped into the teapot, then followed by hot water. Instantly the leaves swirl around, coloring the water an enchanting honey gold color. About a minute later, the waitress pours you a cup of tea.

The aroma from the tea is alluring. Sweet, floral, but with a slight hint of spice to keep it from being too overpowering. It was almost dreamy in scent and in quality. Once the waitress was done pouring your tea, she placed the lid back onto the teapot and left it on the tray. She took the small tea leaf canister and the hot water and bid you to enjoy. With that, she vanished behind the bar counter, leaving you, very alone, with your tea.

What an amazing aroma, had there been a hint of chamomile? In any case the tea was greatly appreciated. "Coming here on our day off was perfect. This place is super cozy." Courtney "Cookie" McClure smiled, her doe-like smoke grey eyes lit up in anticipation. She and her best friend shared a love for tea and sweets among other things. They both worked at the same trendy fashion magazine for the same horrible bosses. They owed it to themselves to have an occasional tea date wearing much preferred cutesy pastel fashions. Cookie took a careful sip after waiting a few moments. The amber liquid had natural, gentle sweetness. Almost immediately her tense shoulders relaxed. All week both women toiled over the coverage from New York Fashion Week. Scarlett, Cookie's immediate boss over graphic design, dropped at least eight surprise spreads on her desk at the last minute then had the nerve to leave early. Now it felt like a distant even foggy memory. "Candy, this tea is going to broker world peace. It's so damn good!" She purred.

Andrea "Candy" Ingram giggled then tried it for herself. Its warmth reminded her of a soft blanket and wrapped all the way up to her small button nose. "Wow! Harper could walk in right now and I wouldn't even jump." A sleepy, happy grin rested on her lips. Harper, Candy's boss over web development, intimidated her often with cold smiles or made cutting remarks about her outfits and work quality. Fashion Week had been showered in the woman's vile temper. In the relaxing hum of satisfaction Candy even let her feet swing slightly. Here Harper couldn't get her. No threat of being fired, no scary smiles, just her best friend and amazingly good tea. Her eyelids grew heavier with each passing moment. "This is the life..." All of her anxieties siphoned away one by one until she couldn't keep her eyes open any longer. Candy slipped into a delicious slumber.

As sleep took over the two girls, the room seemed to fade into a swirling darkness. It was almost like a gentle whirlpool, where they girls were drifted into the spiral, floating further and further into the darkness until it consumed them both. The two would really get a sense of floating, especially when as they may be able to see one another illuminated among the darkness. Clothing lightly fluttered as if they really were making a soft descent to an endless abyss.

However, there didn't seem to be one speck of fear. They weren't falling fast enough to cause worry, and though they may have been floating horizontally, they automatically rightened when a spotlight revealing lush green grass appeared underneath each girl. Shoes gently touched down and the world of darkness exploded into color.

As if water had been splashed against dirty glass, the darkness melted away and revealed the beauty of a forest that could only be described as coming straight out of a princess fairytale story. Bright green grass, trees and brush were accented with bright pinks and purples of buddings flowers both high and low. It seemed like right where the girls stood the light above from an indiscernible source was at its brightest. Further into the forest it got dimmer and dimmer, obscuring what could be beyond.

Not too far away from the girls was the very same table they had sat down at in the cafe. The same tea set remained, however, if they neared, they would see that the tea was gone and the leaves were all dried up again in the teapot. On the dish where the pastry had been was now a small decorative card that read in cursive 'NO RETURN'. Other than that, the area they were in seemed relatively barren and secluded.

From a distance though, they could hear the faint sound of music. Flutes and drums played to an energetic rhythm. They could not see from where they were, but the spotlight above them seemed to travel ever so slightly, directing their eyes into a particular direction where the music would begin to grow louder and louder. Beyond the shadows of the trees, they may eventually come upon a ridiculous scene.

Three tortoises sat on their hind legs as they beat on drums and several rabbits hopped and danced away while playing on their flutes. In the center of it all were three young women, all with flowers tied into their long blonde and brown hair. Each one had brightly colored dresses that matched the colors of the flowers in the forest. They danced around with each other and occasionally poked and plucked at a few of the rabbits' ears before giggling and continuing their jig. All were unsuspecting of their new visitors.

"A-Are you seeing this Candy?" Cookie stepped forward in their verdant surroundings in awe. Soft grass greeted each step of her lavender combat boots. It felt like the perfect spring day, yet her pink heart print sweater dress and white leggings still felt comfortable. Ever since she was young, she'd read fantasy novels describing places like this. Ethereal glowing green of sunlight shining through leaves, vividly colored flowers, and crisp fresh air...If this was a dream she didn't want to wake up yet.

"This place is perfect." Candy stayed close to Cookie but was also taken in by the living fairy tale they'd been dropped into. The warm sunlight gently kissed her golden brown skin, a slight breeze toyed with her jet black curls. She rolled up the sleeves of her oversized white sweater to further indulge in such glorious weather. Too bad she hadn't worn a t-shirt...At least her mint skinny jeans and high tops would make walking around comfortable. "Dreams are wonderful." Candy sighed.

Suddenly as they neared the treeline, lighthearted music and soft laughter could be heard. "Hey, music means other people! Let's see what's going on!" Cookie smiled excitedly. How often did they get to have fun like this? The two women followed the music. It'd be a waste not to explore before they woke up eventually. Besides, it was a dream, right? Nothing bad could actually happen to them. Soon they came upon a scene right out of a Disney movie.

They looked at each other and then the drumming tortoises and back at each other. "The last time I heard about anything like this was when Grandma told me about taking stuff in the 60's..." Cookie muttered. Candy tried her best but couldn't hold back a laugh. It was just loud enough for them to be noticed. Unfortunately both young women didn't notice the dire warning or dried tea leaves. They would soon find out this "dream" was indeed real.
