"Fair enough," Hideki replied to the president's reminder. Nobody was a lost case. He could never forget the Sanjuro case from last year. That had seemed intractable, but they had worked it out, somehow. Someone would be able to help Fumiya.
Speaking of someone...was Keita Assarragi seriously joining? That Keita Assarragi?
"You joining? Welcome aboard."
There wasn't much else to say about that, so...what was he thinking about? Oh, right, Fumiya. Someone could help him understand how the whole dating thing worked. Heck, Hideki probably could—
"Oh my gosh!"
Loath as he was to admit it, Hideki jumped. There were some times that he nearly forgot about Miyuki. This was not one of those times. She had a way of exploding into conversations with her ideas. Not that it was a bad thing, mind. Just startling.
After he got over that, he listened to her idea carefully. The use of schoolwork as a pretext to set up the meeting was solid, but there was one flaw.
"Does anybody's class have a project this early in the year, though? Not that I don't think it's a bad idea in itself, just might not work in this case, with Watanabe and...her." What was her name again? He missed that part. Not important! "But using work as a pretext is classic. Doesn't have to be a project, exactly. We could do a study group again. Remember that, Prez?"
