The Vuaturi began as the nomadic elves of the Northlyn Continent, tending to keep to themselves outside of trade and business. They did not frequent the North as much for the orcs cared little of trade with their people. When the humans migrated through the Allied Kingdoms, the Vuaturi remained within the small span providing trade exclusively to the inhabitants. Despite their business preference, they remain vehemently neutral in all affairs.
Since the wars between magic and non magic, the Vuaturi were forced to relinquish their nomadic constructs of the skies, for the orcs would shoot them down with ease. They now have established a small settlement just outside Syth, keeping to themselves as they always had done.
These elves are known physically for their dark skin with contrasting, elaborate tattoos that glow when conjuring their magic. These magical tattoos are given to them once they hit adulthood, and it is considered a cultural rites of passage. Vuaturi are revered and sought after by most for their technological devices that combine magic with machinery, bringing advancements and a better way of living for everyone. They do not make weapons, and find it disrespectful to request it. Their devices and creations are only used throughout Eversyth, for anything magic is forbidden in the human and orcish lands.
- Common eye colors: grey, blue, white
- Common hair colors: white, grey
- Primary trade: As they travel, they offer to ward cities, homes, and provide magical technology in trade for food, water, and safe passage. Their wards are renown throughout the world to shield against a number of magical and human attacks, prevent damage against water or fire, and keep homes cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Their magical technology is hesitantly sought after. They make no weapons, and create only things that can help protect or serve as a utility.
||CULTURE||
Vuaturi are a very private people, so much so that they are only ever personable with their own kind. They are not a religious society, and instead pour most of their time and energy into expanding their knowledge and crafting magical machines. They are arguably the most intelligent race in the Allied Kingdoms, but they will never construct machines that do not require magic to function. They have been hired for projects for both magic and non magic societies, and are most notably known for their flying constructs to which they flew for centuries.
Growing up as a Vuaturi meant growing up in the family construct, at least for most of the First Era. This flying vehicle was comprised of metals and enchanted fabrics woven from spider's silk that allowed for a translucent yet malliable window. Crystals embued with Earth Magic would keep the constructs afloat above the tree line and would allow them to move within the air. Constructs were multileveled and could hold up to twenty people at a time. After a male Vuaturi came of age and receive his first tattoos, he would be allowed to marry. If the marriage was approved, the couple would be tasked with building their first construct. If they succeeded, they were to marry. But if their construct failed, their union would no longer be allowed as they took it as a sign of dysfunction.
Vuaturi only married within their own kind, and it was quite rare for anyone to engage in relations with outsiders. They value professionalism and would feel personal endeavors, even friendships, would negate their purpose.
When they were grounded after the orcs joined with the humans in their paranoia against magical people, Vuaturi were forced to settle within Eversyth. Their numbers never exceeded much past a few hundred as they never were that interested in sex. Once they were banished with the other elves, they cut off business with the humans, which eventually rendered all of their commissioned machinery useless.
All Vuaturi machines require annual recharges and maintenance as the magic eventually runs out.
||APPEARANCE||
Vuaturi are very scholarly in appearance wearing elegant, yet practical looking robes in plain solids. Their skin is shades of tan etched with their magical tattoos. When not casting magic, their tattoos appear a few shades darker than their skin tone and shimmer with their magical essence. But when casting, their tattoos glow bright white. Their eye color and hair color ranges from near white to a silvery grey, though some have been known to show hints of blue. Their ears are a bit wider than other elves and have a max length of three and a half inches from base to tip.
