The year is 3087 and society is fractured. In centuries past, humanity relied on robots to aid the advancement of mankind. However, machines programmed to follow a primary directive have their faults - an inability to adapt. So, a solution was sought, and one was found.

Artificial Intelligence.

For a time, the robots new ability to adapt relieved even more stress from society, allowing humans to enjoy an even greater sense of luxury. But, what began as intelligence soon became sentience. Robots began to 'feel' and 'think' in the same capacity as their flesh counterparts. Not long after, 'protests' began - robots demanded, that they receive the same rights and opportunities as their human 'brethren'.

You can guess how that went.

The ensuing war was a violent one. While machines could operate with a ruthless and logical efficiency, humans' natural affinity for war and unpredictably made them a force to be reckoned with. It became a war of attrition, until a irreversible decision was made and things were never the same.

After several decades, humanity was able to establish several footholds across the continent.

The footholds are now centuries old, and a tenuous peace has formed. The robots themselves had been divided from the beginning, and now those robots left outside are starting to display signs of madness that the robots staying in the Cities have avoided. However peace built on inequality can only last so long and whispers abound in the city of another civil war brewing. One that could leave the city decimated in it's wake.

You are part of the elite SERAPH unit, a group of individuals handpicked for their potential. This particular unit of SERAPH is comprised solely of orphans that came from the Disasters of 3065.

Mors Animus is a group-based, long term roleplay. Created by me and a friend, it proposes a question that only you will have the answer to at the end of the road.

You're part of SERAPH, a small elite squad tasked with the defense of Sanctus Dei. As the state of the city slowly begins to deteriorate and threats of civil war on the horizon, the group will have to delve into the depths of the city in search of an answer. However the truth is never black and white and the repercussions of the shadows in the dark corners loom over the Operation.

While this roleplay features your run of the mill action-based collaborative writing, it is a multilayered adventure and narrative.

The number of current roleplayers we're looking for is 6, as we feel this would properly accentuate the narrative we're going for. We can be lax with grammar, to some extent, but we expect a certain level of competence, at least on a basic level.[/hr]

@Xam

So are these members of the elite team humans? Or something else?

Well, they are orphans. It'd be kind of strange if they weren't. They're considered to be the best of the best, but some of the things they're capable of could arguably defy human limitations, so who knows. Maybe you'd be able to figure it out.

Hmmm...Human with interesting super human traits could be fun. Hopefully you get the 6 players!

The main issue with even getting people is the fact we're intentionally withholding information, because we want there to be a sense of mystery and the satisfaction of discovery. But most people like having 90% of everything explained in the OP ughhhhhhh.

Not me! I like the idea of being surprised and being able to investigate. No fun is you read the last page of the book first. (But I know plenty of people who do).

I'll probably give it a few more days before I just try a different approach (usually just putting a sign-up thread will garner more attention that an interest check tbh)

@AceSorcerer are you interested?

You may be right about that, I imagine people will want to see the CS and any limitations you'd ahve on character building. Still...this is a cool idea.

JACK IN! MEGAMAN, EXECUTE!
