Naild nodded, "I have been taking care of her as much as I could for most of my life." He stood his full height proudly jutting out his chin defensively as if his honor was being called into question. He heard Rebecca speaking to him as well and was proud of her for making the attempt. "Their behavior as parents is no reflection of either of you. You both can carve a new life free of their tyranny here in the glen."

Morden smiled at Naild. "You did very well son." he said proudly as he moved over to stand next to the group. He heard Nathan offering food and showers and could well understand their wish to partake once he was close enough to smell the two.

Caden clasped a hand to Nathan's shoulder, "You are a thoughtful man Nathan." He wagged a finger at Lauranna, "I will handle their accommodations...you've expended enough magical energy for a few hours at least."

Chastianna looked like a deer in headlights at the Queen's questions. "Excuse me? I am an apothecary. I use herbs and amulets...I have no powers I am aware of at least."

Alna moved over and stood near the girl and reached out her hand and clasped her forearm. "Will you allow me to see your mind Princess?"

Chastianna leaned back, "Princess? Oh no...I am no Princess..."

Alna smiled indulgently, "Oh but you are daughter of Aura and Dark King Lars."

Chastianna looked at the woman's hand on her arm and then over at Lauranna. "I have no secrets. If it will help us end the evil Helena's wicked deeds, search all your need."

Alna nodded and closed her eyes. Her mind felt no resistance in the young woman's psyche and that reassured her a great deal. She tapped here and there and found the twisted gnarled vines of a dark magic block in the girl's mind. So, Helena had a hand in this child's disillusionment as well. how far did that woman's treachery reach? Her hand reached out and grasped the vines and she felt the shock of the magic block and she was thrust out of her mind and back against Nathan who was standing a few feet behind her. "Well...that explains a good deal."

Chastianna blinked, "Oh I am so sorry..did I do that? Please forgive me..."

Alna held up her hand, "No child. You did not. Helena has a strong magical block around your magic. She must be aware that you have the power to defeat her and truly imprison her. I will think about this a bit and then we will formulate a plan for releasing her. Perhaps it is best that everyone rest tonight and we can meet in the throne room in the morning?"

Caden couldn't agree more, "I'm sure Both Gavin and Chastianna would like to relax, bathe in a leisurely manner and have a good hearty meal as well as a comfortable night's sleep in a warm bed."

Chastianna didn't like the idea that someone had used magic of that nature on her, but she trusted these people to free her and make things right. "I know what I smell like.." she said with a chagrined expression. "That all sounds wonderful to me."

Morden bowed his head, "That probably is best. You and I need to talk however Alna, maybe as we all walk back home?"

Alna leaned into Nathan, "Agreed..."

Caden gave NAthan's shoulder another squeeze, "I'll take care of the food, you take care of your lady. We will see you in the morning. Rest well everyone."

Naild held onto Rebecca, "I'd like to dine with Rebecca Fatherm if I may."

Morden nodded, "I think that is a delightful idea Naild. Make your way home before nightfall please." He liked that Naild was calling him father. He was more than proud to call the boy his son for more than one reason.

"I will do so. Thank you Father."

Morden, Nathan and Alna moved from the room and headed to the palace entrance leaving the others to find suitable spaces and refreshment for the night.

Caden got things settled and then returned to Lauranna, "his did not goat all as we expected did it?" He scooped her up and moved over to the bed with her and cuddled her close to his chest. "You really need to stop scaring the life out of me woman..." His laughter rumbled in his chest as he stroked her hair. "So...how many secrets do you think Alna and Morden are keeping from us?"

Once they were well away from the palace Morden began speaking, "Before you ask, yes, I sent the young ones into the alternate time line."

Alna looked at him sideways, "And exactly how did you do that? You've never had usable powers...."

Morden blushed slightly, "That anyone knew about..." He pulled up his sleeve and moved his left hand over his right forearm revealing a brand.

Alna's immediate intake of breath was her knee-jerk reaction. "Who are you then? Really?"

Morden waved the palm over the place again and covered the brand again. "I am Drayce."

Alna blinked, "The king's brother? But he was murdered...long before Aura took the throne.."

"As they say...the tales of my demise have been grossly over exaggerated."

"You should be seated on the throne...it is yours by right."

Morden shook his head, "No, It fell to the right person and is in the right hands now..." He let out a soft sigh of resignation, "Caden is of Royal blood and Lauranna is the daughter of the king and queen of both realms. They will rule justly and with power. I am content to see things righted that have long needed vengeance."

Alna peered at him, "So you know who Caden is then."

"I do." he waved a hand, "It is of little consequence now however, What I want to know is what you saw in the child's mind."

"Twisted and gnarled vines and when I touched them I was thrown from her mind and as you saw, across the room."

"Hmm...Let me do a bit of research tonight. I believe I know the way to undo that..."

"I will gladly leave that to you then," she replied, "I've been tossed about enough for one day or even three."

Morden chuckled, "Aye you have. I will deal with Helena from now on as well...once I confess my identity to the King and Queen that is..." he frowned, "Those two really need to marry...we should see to that tomorrow as well."

Gavin was glad to get a hot, soothing shower, having forgotten what luxuries of any kind had been... he stared at the falling water; turning it pink, green, then blue, for his own entertainment. No.. he didn't have a crapload of faerie magic like the king and queen or even the others, but he did have plenty- and good reasons to hide all of it! He smiled sadly, thinking of his sister. How long were her powers kept locked in her mind by Sheena? He couldn't fathom such cruelty inflicted on his own sibling and wanted Sheena and Stephen there in person- just so he could personally rip their throats out. One reason he hid his magic, well... he wasn't good with it. He sporadically used his invisibility to keep monsters from seeing him as he traveled those endless murky swamp depths. Perhaps it was his mothers' curse that rang in his ears every night... Telling him he'd never be a great magic user; he'd never be loved, and much in the same manner as poor Rebecca must have constantly heard- nobody would miss him when he died; so what would ever be the point in wasting time on magic... "You should end your own life now!" Sheena had snarled at the 2 year old, wide eyed, child before she slammed out of the cabin with her husband. Eventually, he knew he had to leave the hot water. Finally letting the now rainbow-colored droplets swirl down the drain, he was glad to smell like Irish Spring instead of Ew something died on my face- like he had probably for the last..21 years or so. He found a clean, soft white towel, dried off thoroughly, brushed his teeth, then shrugged into the nice white tunic and black pants he found on the bathroom door. Feeling hungry, he decided to go see if he could find Chastianna and scrounge the kitchen cabinets for food, he bet she was probably just as starved!

Laurana grinned at Caden as he cuddled her and scolded her for scaring him.. "I wasn't afraid... I knew your overprotectiveness would save the day." She teased, nibbling on his sleeve. "Besides.. I'm wondering how powerful our baby will be.... I sort of sensed a shield from him, the whole time we were all in the swamp...might have just been my imagination though..." she added. She had so many thoughts circling her mind..she wasn't even sure what to acknowledge first... Her sister could get seriously injured or even killed by the Crown... what if Helena knew the secrets about the crown, and could be made to give out all the information somehow? She stretched, looking thoughtfully at the ceiling of their bedroom. "Caden...we need answers from Helena .... but we need to make sure she can't hurt anyone else, ever........ is there a way you could bring her to the throne room tomorrow and ensure she doesn't try anything? I need more information about the Crown.. .but I certainly don't want anyone else near her." Laurana added, cautiously.

Nathan smiled at Morden, his own memories since the attack of the Douglas were probably still hazy, fog-shrouded. He helped get Alna back to their home, letting Morden walk with them most of the way, since their houses were close by anyway. "Morden, it's wonderful that you gave up so much for my neice and Caden........... but it means if anything -does- happen.. you will be ruler in their place." He added somberly. "As for marrying.. yes- they do need to. It wouldn't be proper for their prince to be born with two unwed parents... but so much is going on.. I don't see how a marriage would be able to happen tomorrow." He said, grimly. Though of course whenever things settled down again a huge party-like wedding would be most welcome.

Rebecca helped show Gavin and Chastianna the shower-areas, plus fresh changes of clothes for both of them. She then let Niald lead her back to the kitchen for a huge feast of roast chicken, bowls of all sorts of fruit, mixed veggies, tall pitchers of soda, water, and teas. "Everything looks delicious... Should we wait for Gavin and Chastianna? Surely they will want to eat too." She added. She'd pushed everything unpleasant to the farthest part of her brain already- focusing instead on the good things.... she couldn't let her... and Gavin's parents win! They were slime balls, pure and simple... and anyone knew that giving such awful people any power was a horrible leverage.

Chastianna followed Rebecca admiring her lovely gown and stepped into the largest room she'd ever occupied. Her jaw dropped as she looked around and held back the desire to touch everything. She was filthy. Shower first, touch the pretties after. She stood for ten minutes just letting the hot water cascade over her weary and sore body. The heat seeped into her muscles and she just leaned against the wall and smiled. it felt so wonderful. She grabbed the soaps and shampoo and washed everything, everywhere as vigorously as she could stand trying to wash off the darkness from who she was. Could what they said be true? Was she the dark half of the white Queen? Did that mean she was like Helena? Was she innately evil? Would removing that block on her magic create another Helena? She was afraid to ask and afraid not to ask. She emerged from the shower and was shocked when a gush of warm air dried her seemingly instantly. She let out a little laugh at that and was about to put her old clothes back on when she saw the gown. It was a lovely pale lavender color, with puffed sleeves at the shoulders and long form fitting cuffs to the wrist. The bodice had opalescent pearls lining the beautifully embroidered facing. The bird pictured there looked like a purple phoenix. She wondered what that was supposed to signify. but it was too tempting not to try on. She smoothed the dress down over her body and then ran to the long mirror to look at herself. She gasped at the image before her. Her long black hair flowed in shining waves to her hips and the gown fit perfectly. She had no idea how to do up the back though and she went looking for Rebecca since she didn't want to bother the Queen anymore that night. She needed to sleep. She heard some noise in the kitchen and made her way toward the sounds but she literally bounced off of Gavin, "oh....sorry...." She turned bright red and pressed her back against the wall quickly, "I was looking for Rebecca..."

Caden shook his head, "I am not bringing her anywhere until we talk to Morden and Alna," he said resolutely. His expression was stubborn and brooked no defiance, "She's dangerous Lauranna...I am not risking any other missteps until we know more. You will have your answers soon enough, possibly without Helena's input. I have a feeling Morden and Alna know a lot more than they have said." Things were niggling at his mind and he didn't like that feeling. She spoke of their child having powers and he grinned, "Of course he will...and that may have been him..or me...I was feeding you energy the whole time. We can ask Morden and Alna if powers develop before birth. I don't know anything about such things." He cuddled her close, "Now...turn off that mind and get some rest. We are going to have another long day tomorrow..."

Morden waved off the thanks and frowned at the words. "Nothing will happen now. The evils of Helena have been set to naught...mostly. I am sorry I could not spare Aura and Lars. They were good for the Glen." His voice was full of regret and pain. "We can have a short ceremony and an official celebration alter. They need to be rightfully ruling together...it is important." He didn't say why but he seemed adamant.

Naild looked at the feast Caden had created and smiled at Rebecca, "We can wait for a bit, but if they take too long we can start without them." He was content to talk to her and spend time with her while they waited. They were remembering their time as adults and laughing a bit at themselves when they heard a commotion in the hallway. The two of them moved out to see, "Are you two ok?" He asked looking at the red faced Chastianna and Gavin.

Gavin looked quite nice, with his new tunic and black jeans. His shoes were even comfortable; and his hair had never felt so clean or soft. The bright red showing much better without years of grime making it almost brown. His eyes were brighter blue, like the sky; showing less fatigue than before.. though shadows would always be around the edges. He'd never known a happy, luxurious lifestyle as everyone else had thus far- but he honestly felt okay in it. He wondered if he should apply to be a guard, and train himself to be useful. Everyone seemed to have his or her own job; and he wondered if he'd be successful here too- given time. At the dining table, he sat next to Chastianna and Rebecca after the formal greetings. "Sorry we took so long- the showers were wonderful." He explained as servants took care of their needs, placing freshly cooked meatloaf slices, baked potatoes with plenty of butter, sour cream and extra cheese; even large helpings of butter-garlic asparagus. He accepted a glass of iced green tea, graciously thanking his hosts and helpers. "It's no problem. We were just glad you guys finally got to relax after so much stress and tension over these years." Rebecca replied, smiling. She ate gracefully, surprised herself at how hungry she felt. Everything tasted perfect as always. The sadness had retreated from her bit by bit- curiosity of her new..older brother. She'd been lead to believe her whole life she was an only chil- mistake....... It was strange how timelines could merge, shift, and even be so easily crossed into! Ideas began forming in her mind, but they took a moment to complete...

Laurana was glad for a relaxing evening back in their own room. They had their own dinner there- with mostly sandwiches and a variety of chips and fries. With plenty of teas and orange juice. She'd sworn off soda for the entire time during pregnancy, having read somewhere she was really not supposed to drink a lot of it, because the baby could have problems, etc.. "I wouldn't dare talk to that hag alone. She's almost more dangerous than The Douglas had been." She paused a moment, trying to gather her thoughts .. .If only there wasn't so much going on! Maybe she could think clearly.... but there were more important things to dwell on... "Caden... what do you think we should do first?" She asked, hesitating, because he understood priorities perhaps a bit better than she did sometimes. But she would always be relieved when things fell into place, with no one getting hurt.

Gavin couldn't help flinching slightly as Chastianna bumped into him as they made their way down to the kitchen/ dining hall area. He was starving. But any physical contact he'd ever had had only resulted in blood, violence and injuries of some sort- so he was still a tad jumpy, though not nearly as bad as before. He wouldn't let himself get too comfortable of course, just in case he'd need to end up leaving for whatever reasons. "It's alright... You shine up like a nice new penny though. Lavender is your color." He added, smiling. He didn't expect anything to be said of his simple, yet clean, almost shining new tunic and pants; though they did give him a sliiiight feeling of an old-almost forgotten confidence. He finished escorting her to the dining area, making sure he sat next to her across from Rebecca and Niald, after greeting them both formally as well. Everything looked fabulous. He sat, but waited for proper protocols to ensue and polite discussions before he ate his first real meal in years. He mimicked the most-learned, obviously Rebecca, to use which proper utensils and how to sip slowly ... he picked up on the manners- fairly quickly, not wanting to embarrass himself.

Nathan nodded respectfully to Morden... then escorted Alna inside, after a brief farewell. "I'll stop by later on, to the palace, to see what needs to be done." He assured the man. He watched Morden walk back to his own home to be with Serena; and sighed warily as he helped Alna to the kitchen. "Are you hungry?" He asked her, not knowing how she'd feel right after so many terrible visions and mental attacks.

Chastinana blushed at the praise. "I'm nothing compared to my sister....she's stunning." Once she was steady her smile brightened, "you look so different!" she exclaimed, "I like your real hair color...it matches your eyes and yes.....you look quite dashing." She turned to smile at Rebecca and Niald, "yes, the showers were divine!" she agreed, "It had been so long..." She shrugged that off and walked with Gavin into the dining room, "oh....you two should have eaten. I'm so sorry! You must be starving."

Naild shook his head, "It was our pleasure to wait and share the meal with you both. My mother would tan my hide if I ever forgot the manners she taught me.""

They shared pleasant conversation and over the course of the meal were growing a genuine and abiding sort of friendship between them as they chatted about casual things and hobbies and whatnot. "I will be traveling to the Orc village soon to learn smithing. We have no one here with that talent and I am hoping to be useful here in that capacity." And to prove he was nothing like his father from that other timeline. It had hurt his soul deeply to think of his father as cowardly, or even as a collaborator with Rebecca's parents in that whole treasonous affair. "Have either of you given a thought to what you will do here?" he asked casually and then closed his eyes, "Forgive me...that was highly discourteous of me. You have been here for a few hours, of course you have not discovered how you can be part of our group. We are few but we are united....I know you will both find a home here."

Chastiana was surprised at the question, "I was the apothecary before....but it seems the King and Queen have other plans for me here...I guess we shall see if their suspicions are correct." she turned to look at Gavin, "How about you? Are you going to see if you can hone your abilities as well?"

Morden strode into the house and drew a breath. He could always find ehr by that intoxicating scent she wore. He was behind her in a few seconds and his face was buried in her hair. "My past has finally found me Love...we need to talk."

Alna sat on the stool in the kitchen and leaned on the counter. "If you are cooking...I am eating." She said with a weak smile, "Don't look so worried Nathan. I will recover my strength before the morning. Food and rest..and some of your healing snuggles will do me wonders." Her brows furrowed then, "I don't like this though. There is much I didn't not know....had not seen. Morden is more powerful than I ever gave him credit for..and I gave him credit for a considerable amount." Her finger tapped the counter, "Before we go back in the morning I will consult the cauldron and see if there is any message from beyond about this whole mess...especially about Helena and Chastianna."

Gavin had learned a lot from simply observing the others around him. Rebecca had been far more brutalized and tortured than anyone could guess; and that bothered him, more than he wanted to admit! But for now he focused on the delicious servings of roast turkey, mashed potatoes drenched in melted butter, as well as brown gravy; plenty of tasty dinner rolls, with platters of butter in shapes of birds. There were the cheese and fruit trays, plenty of pitchers of iced tea, and water. He drank mostly water, having had nothing pure except occasional rain water in months! "I suppose I could tinker with a few invisibility spells, and minor things. I don't have much else." He demurred to Chastianna, who could probably summon way more magic than most. "Otherwise.. I'll need to find a way to be useful here as well. Maybe they need extra guards?" He inquired casually.

Rebecca smiled at her new brother reassuringly. Yes, she had had a horrible past.. .but he could tell for certain just meeting her, life wasn't too bad in the present! She had a beautiful room here with the king and queen; Niald was her guardian/best-friend/future fiance.... she had yet to feel comfortable in talking to many other adults, but she was always asking questions of Alna, the first Seer, about her "Gift". She didn't think much of it really, other than to not take it lightly, since it did save lives and so far, prevent realities from crashing against each other. "Queen Laurana could probably help you learn your magic, Gavin... who knows, it could have potential to grow stronger." She added, hopefully. Gavin wasn't sure how to respond, but he thought about it. "Couldn't hurt to try. Though after things settle down here I think... both their majesties, and Chastianna, have a lot to deal with already." He took another drink of water, finally feeling less parched and dehydrated. He was really starting to like this place!

Serena indeed, hadn't been hard to find... She'd gone shopping at the market, bought plenty of groceries, house-hold cleaning supplies, even new cloth and fabrics to make new clothes with in her spare time. Herbs she still had plenty of and hadn't needed to buy extra. As she was washing the last of her dishes, she felt Morden wrap his arms around her, and relaxed. The gossip hadn't stopped, just because they'd all moved to the glen and began new lives.... No.. people were still whispering that Morden only pitied her. That he could find a much nicer, less ruined wife if he wanted.... and other rumors... but she didn't even want to entertain those wretched thoughts. She wound her arms around his waist and kissed him... "Let's talk in the living room then... how bad is it, sweetheart?" She asked, guiding him gently to the large, comfortable sofa. She'd sensed for quite some time he too, had hidden worries and fears he wouldn't expose to just anyone.

Nathan smiled, made sure Alna was well-taken care of, then gladly let her rest with him in the living room. "I know, it's all a huge shock... It seems there was more secrets than either of us realized... but try not to worry. I'm sure everything will fall into place, and be revealed in time... It has so far." He told her assuringly as he held her. The light was starting to fade into twilight, his favorite time of day.~

Naild nodded, and finished his bite of food before replying to Gavin, "I believe we are in need of more guards...especially competent ones who are in good shape." He was trying to say that without sounding critical of the guards that were currently serving in the palace, but those ones ahd allowed Rebecca to be almost killed by her mother, so he wasn't their biggest fans. If Gavin had managed to stay alive in the dark swamp, then he was heads and shoulders above the people they currently had. "I think you could do both though," he ventured to say, "Possibly work with the magic users... and with Varen and Jasmine to train with the guards."

Chastianna nodded at Naild. "I bet he could too. Surviving in the dark swamp was not for the weak hearted soul." she glanced over at Gavin and gave him a dazzling smile, "I think he can do anything he attempts to do honestly." It was interesting that she didn't think the same of her own ability to survive there. She felt lucky and blessed, not skillful or particularly brave. But she felt all those things were true of Gavin. Like Gavin she enjoyed every bite of this food, and the cold clean water. her body was rebelling at the amount she was eating and she soon ahd to stop. Being unable to get adequate food for so long made her stomach unable to eat what her heart and eyes wanted her to eat. She pushed away from the table and sighed, "I wish I could eat more..." Her expression was laughable.

Naild smiled at her, "Take a plate to your room to enjoy later?"

Chastianna face blossomed into glowing excitement, "You are brilliant!" her hands moved from fruit plate to dessert plate to other things and it ended up being piled pretty high before she was done. She even blushed at bit at her own seeming greed for the sweets. "Been a long time since I've had dessert..."

Morden walked with Serena to the living room and sat her down. he took both hands in his own and then lifted his eyes to hers. "A long time ago...before the great war with the human foe that you no doubt remember well...we had an enemy living among us. A spy for the Dark King's sister who had disguised herself as one of the royal family. Her power was great, and her treachery greater. She was the one who caused the fall of the glen and forced us all to flee this place. Her name is Helena." he drew in a deep breath. "I was the royal adviser to Queen Aura at that time, her mage and protector. I flatter myself to think that I was perhaps the one she trusted above all others...though I had in my blindness and arrogance not confided in those that could have foreseen the deadly events that were to come." It was obvious this was all torturous for him to speak of, but he continued. "When Aura began to speak of the Dark King, my heart was dead set against him. But, upon meeting him I could see easily why she had chosen him, even if their mutual hope of uniting both worlds of their kind were naive. They wed secretly and soon she was with child. It was those heirs that forced the evil plans to be sped up. The dark sister decided to kill Aura and Lars before the child was born and thus end both of their royal lines in one fell swoop. I trapped Helena in a time dimensional warp that held her magic in check, but while I did this her sister entered the glen and killed both the king and queen." There were tears in his eyes as he spoke, "I was able to save the babies...one I sent to the future and the other I sent to an alternate reality to keep them safe." He looked down at the floor and then back at her, "All the time you've known me...I have been keeping my true identity a secret. There are few of us surviving with as much magic ability as I have. I have kept it hidden using only potions for decades, while my power was holding Helena securely imprisoned here. And now, she has managed to contact the denizens of the Glen once more. She managed to convince Lauranna and Caden to help her, and I believe she even had Nathan and Sovalna deceived as well." He cursed under his breath, "If only they had consulted me first..."

Alna nodded, "Oh it will...especially now that I am aware of the duplicity my questions will have greater insight and fervency."

Rebecca knew how Niald felt about the guards and honestly, didn't blame him... Anything could happen and where would they even be? Nowhere near or fast enough to respond to any crisis, that was for certain! Gavin gave the guard-training more thought. "Sure. I'll seek the centaurs out tomorrow morning." He added, though no one had said anything about Centaurs. Maybe his entire psychic ability was opening, blossoming now that he was out of the swamps; safer than he'd ever been in his life: Though trust would still be an issue for him for a little while. It wouldn't take long however, for him to figure things out. As a guard, he'd certainly be able to take care of things in and around the palace. Probably train the other guards to spread out and keep the whole Glen safe before the month was out. He watched Chastianna load her plate and grinned. At least she'd be happy in surroundings she belonged in. As he belonged, truly, nowhere- unwanted by his and poor Rebecca's parents; he would do his part to remain on the good side.

The thought of Morden being in any pain or sadness distressed Serena, to the point she forgot her own drama that still dwelled in her heart every single day, waiting for her outside of the house like an ever present bully or monster. This was vastly more important, and she held him against her slender frame, her long hair covering him like a shawl. "Shhh... we'll get this taken care of, sweetheart. I'm here, I'm listening. You did wonderful at rescuing Queen Laurana and King Caden.. and Helena... well.. we will find a way to end her power. I know you're important. I could feel that in your energy, in the sadness in your own eyes. Nothing you revealed to me tonight will change or lessen my love for you... King Morden." She added with a ghost of her teasing smile. Though people were actually starting to get very violent and rude towards her, she knew what he told her was far more important than any of her trivial concerns. "At least some good came of all that tragedy... I'll help you figure out ways to keep Helena completely out of commissions... is there anything you know about the evil queen that we can use against her.... say right now?" She wondered aloud. There had to be something they could do. If she ever escaped this prison... who knew what she would attempt?

Nathan chuckled. "Good to hear. It's getting rather late... shall we head to bed?" He asked, noticing how dark it had quickly gotten outside.

Naild tipped his head a bit, "How did you know they were Centaurs?"

Chastianna lifted her eyes to Gavin when Naild asked his question. "See...already your magic abilities are blooming now that you are free from the dangers and rigors of the dark swamp. Maybe the dark magic there was inhibiting your powers...." Her mind was whirling with possibilities. "This is so exciting Gavin! Imagine what will come to you with time here! I am so very pleased for you!"

Morden listened to Serena's pledge and pulled her close and kissed her deeply. "Thank you..I don't deserve any of that but thank you." He wasn't totally blameless in all of the bad that had befallen the glen. His arrogance and lack of vigilance had allowed Helena's power and influence to grow and poison the glen undetected until it was too late. His soul felt heavy with the burden of that knowledge but her love ...was so strong. Mabye there was hope for his soul to heal at long last. "I hope there is, but I need to consult with Sovalna...if she will allow it. I have a feeling she will not trust me now because I have lied to her for so long." He held her close and soaked in her love and devotion like a man dying of thirst in the desert "We can find solutions tomorrow...I need rest..."

Alna nodded. "I am tired. My questions can wait for the dawn..." She tried to stand but her legs quivered and then she plopped back into the chair. "Weak too it would appear..." She sighed heavily, "Sorry to burden you more today...but I'm going to need help.."

Puzzled, Gavin looked at Niald and Chastianna- almost forgetting he'd mentioned the centaur thing. "Oh... hmm... Well I'd best see about honing these skills. I only ever remember having powers over becoming invisible in the swamp... which may explain why I'm even alive.-- Aside from meeting you of course." He added to Chastianna with a nod and a smile. He too was curious to what he could do now that he was free of the swamp... but who's powers had he inherited? As far as he remembered, neither his or Rebecca's parents had magic... had they? He'd ask later, but not just then, because he could sense Rebeccas's hurt and betrayel from her unloving encounters with their family, too fresh and new in her mind. Wounds healed, but mental and emotional scars took far longer.

"Morden, things happen to all of us...sometimes we can control it, but in the end, there are other things contolling us- that don't allow us to even think rationally. I know, I'm not a saint either, and made mistakes....plenty of them.. I never had a family...... my mother ..... abandoned me at a young age, I was left in the care of a detached, aloof elderly woman, then went to fend for myself as a teenager. So trust me, I have had to survive, which means sometimes doing things I wasn't proud of; but... enduring it all ... It makes me glad to have found you; I can keep going, knowing I have my own rock of stability again. And Niald... but he's so close to leaving the nest.." She sighed.. Then realized he had to leave to talk to Alna. "Be very careful love, when you head out- and please return soon. I'll be out as well, I'm low on several herbs and fruits. I'm hoping Queen Laurana sets up a market- area where we can just buy goods again..." She didn't mention to him, however, how uneasy gathering was making her.... A few men had obscenely voiced their opinions of her, while women started to shove her out of their way... just like back in the caves. Depression crept upon her.... she wasn't worthy of Morden... especially now knowing his entire history! She tried to hold back the sadness, and helped him with his cape as he headed for the door. "Love you, Morden, stay at the palace since it's so late- I'll be here in the morning." Serena kissed him deeply, a heavy feeling in her heart- that until now, she usually didn't ignore..~

Nathan snorted, his eyes twinkling with light. "You a burden? Pfft.. if anything you've certainly made my life more interesting! I was a boring old retired military man before I met you, remember?" He teased, carrying her to their huge bed. He helped her change into a warm night gown of soft blue cotton as it was chilly outside, then changed himself into a long nightshirt, nothing else, allowing full view of his lanky, muscular body. He finished tucking her in, making sure both of them had tall glasses of iced water to drink whenever they woke up thirsty. Only then did he curl up around Alna, making sure she was comfortable. The night sky was blazing with stars, trees all around them swayed in the growing breeze- and only a few birds flitted about, trying to rest.

Chastianna smiled and blushed a bit, "Well, luckily I happened upon you at the right time..if I actually believed in luck...which I do not. So it was meant to be that you were spared in the swamp as well as being brought here. I dare say you will discover many hidden talents now that you are not forced to spend every waking moment fighting to stay alive." She wasn't sure how he'd managed it honestly. Her admiration of that feat was great to be sure, and seeing him manifest powers already was as well. She didn't feel any different. What if she possessed no magic? What if they were all looking to her for something that she could not deliver? The burden of their belief in her was heavy to be sure. She was determined to try, and she kenw she'd die trying if need be. She'd honestly rather be dead than live as a disappointment to the king and queen.

Morden listened as she spoke of past difficulties and he stroked her cheek. He'd watched her struggle helplessly for so long, keeping his abilities and powers a secret for the good of all. When she assumed he was leaving his heart swelled with tenderness. He hung up the cloak and turned to her again. "Serena my love...all of that can wait for tomorrow. Everyone needs rest tonight...." He didn't give her a chance to object before scooping her up and carrying her to their room and magically barring the door behind them. He gently laid her on the bed, "I think maybe it's time we put a little extra effort into starting our family together..." He spent much of the night showing ehr how deeply in love with her he was, and how much he wanted that family with her. He didn't consider himself royalty. He never had any intention of claiming such things, even now he was not going to do so. This was what he wanted, had wanted for so long.

Gavin smiled a bit.... sensing Chastianna's determination. He was also unwilling to be a disappointment, but he did feel his eyes droop slightly as the hours grew later. It was completely silent throughout the palace, no screams, shouts, cries for help... or angry roars from monsters... he kept his ears tuned however, for any potential trouble. He figured Queen Laurana and King Caden were most likely asleep in their room... "Not to be impertinent... should we find our own sleeping quarters? Or have those been arranged? I really look forward to a 7 hour rest.. And I'm sure, Chastianna, being the queen's sister, you'll have plenty of magic... now that we're both free from stress of the swamp; we can explore at leisure." He winked, assuring her things would be well.

Serena melted into Morden's embrace, glad to forget all her troubles, at least for that night. She lost herself in their passion, and deeply prayed for them to create another son or even a daughter for the two of them to raise! Niald was fully grown almost-- he surely wouldn't mind a sibling. ... She smiled against Morden's neck, both of them exhausted soon after a long night of loving each other- and pulled the blankets securely over both their bodies, keeping the cold away. She slept dreamlessly, and at ease..~

Chastianna was feeling the double effect of a long hot shower and a full stomach. Her body was screaming for rest, honest actual rest.

Naild tipped his head, "Wherever you showered is likely the place you are intended to call yours. Not much escapes the king and queen's notice in such regard." He gave Rebecca's hand a squeeze, "You both look very tired. Forgive me for keeping you so long from your rest. I should have been more thoughtful of your needs." Naild was always trying to think of the best thing in every situation and he'd been thinking about food and nourishment, which he'd been very sure both had been without for a long while. Their need for rest hadn't dawned him, though it should have especially since the sun was long faded from the sky. "It has been a pleasure to dine with you both and get to know you a bit more. I look forward to doing so again soon." There weren't many their age in the Glen at the moment. Most were older, much older. Though these two were older, their recent arrival made them feel younger somehow or maybe it was that alternative time line. "Do you think you can find your way back to your rooms?"

Chastianna shook her head at Naild, "Oh please Naild. there is nothing at all to be sorry for. I know for my part I ahve enjoyed our conversation and dinner. I would love to do this again." The details of the whole thing were still not clear to her either. She was Lauranna's sister, but she seemed so much younger. How could that be possible if the king and queen were killed when Lauranna was young? It didn't make any sense, and she didn't have the mental strength at the moment to battle off fatigue to ponder it through. Tomorrow...there could be answers tomorrow.

Morden fell into a deep, dreamless sleep for the first time in a week. The rekindling of their intimacy was what his fearful soul needed and he too hoped fiercely to gift her with a child. He'd never wanted one of his own before, but she awakened within him needs and desires he'd never before felt and it was a good thing. She was restoring his dark soul to the light.

Helena raged against the confines of the dark cube Caden had imprisoned her within. Her magic could not restore the beauty of her other chamber and that created a seething anger to boil up within her soul against him and the rest of the royals that remained. Nathan seemed to have forgotten his place. That was a laughable turn of events as far as she was concerned, a happily laughable one and fortuitous as well. Morden. That thorn in her side. Wretched man hadn't had the grace to die yet, blast his soul to the pits and beyond. His power had grown as well. She could feel it strengthening the young king's cage. Still, even with all their precautions her magic was able to trickle out into the glen and into the hearts of the precious, high and mighty white fae people. Oh how she hated them and their constant goodness. Weak hearted and weak willed simpletons...the lot of them. It was because of them that the humans had been able to all but obliterate their entire race. It was because of them that they'd been relegated to this tiny Glen and the Dark Swamp. Soon though, their plans would begin to fully reveal. "You shall see my dear sister...I will avenge you and our people...these will pay as they should and we will rebuild the glorious fae nation to power and predominance over the world...even the world of the deadly humans!"

Gavin smiled, glad Chastianna at least knew the right things to say... She was far better groomed with manners than himself; having lived a half-wild thing most of his life, this.. normal-life would possibly be harder to adjust to than he thought, but it wouldn't hurt to give it his very best effort. "The meal was sensational, sir. And the palace is so beautiful, we're easily distracted admiring all the finery.... but yes... it's been an incredibly long day... life, to be honest... We have a lot to catch up with and we'll be fresh in the morning for plenty of history lessons, and training." He added, happy to express his own gratitude. He thought he vaguely remembered their rooms- Chastianna's was close to the hallway of Laurana and Caden's while his was by Rebecca's. Fitting, really.

Serena was glad to help restore Morden's soul! Her own felt vulnerable, often ghostly... but somehow complete as it ever could be when Morden was with her. He made her want to believe again- in the general goodness of people. Not everything had been smooth sailing, but who's life was perfect? She couldn't answer that, as everyone seemed to have a margin of trauma in their lives. But for now, she didn't want to think of sad things, she rested in the crook of Morden's arms, barely moving from exhaustion.

Rebecca was able to help both Chastianna and Gavin find their rooms, glad to help them get comfortable. "All your new clothes will be in your closets, feel free to explore- the beds are always comfortable, but there's windows over here as well, in case you start feeling clausterphobic. There's water pitchers and a glass, in case you get thirsty." She paused, "Well.. they'll be sparsely furnished at first, but just let the king and queen know of your needs and I'm sure it won't be any trouble for them to accommodate them." She bid each of them goodnight, then went back to Niald's side- a little tired herself after the past few days they've had!

Chastianna followed Rebecca to her room. She felt pretty sure she would have found it, but not before making a wrong turn along the way. She was just so tired. She looked around as Rebecca mentioned the accommodations and smiled, "It's wonderful," she assured her, "I can't imagine needing anything more." And she honestly couldn't. This was far more than she'd ever had before and it was a bit overwhelming if she was honest. "Thank you Rebecca...see you in the morning..." She smiled and waved at Gavin as he and Rebecca went to his room, " Good Night Gavin."

Naild cleaned up their feast while Rebecca showed the two to their rooms. He was in the kitchen when she returned starting on the dishes. He liked feeling useful and doing little things to be of help when he could. He smiled at her when she entered, "So, what did you think of them?" he asked as he continued to clean dishes, "They don't seem evil, but things from the dark swamp usually are." He was trying not to worry, but it was hard. He already felt like a husband after their 'wedding' in the other time line, and he wanted to protect his family.

Helena's night was actively spent as the others slept. She forced tiny tendrils of magic through the containment of her cage where she could, but it was exhausting and frustrating. The amount of magic she was able to free was so small she knew it would take weeks to send enough to be of any real influence, but she did know that it would affect people's behavior from the onset. They would be cruel, combative, and difficult now but with time their level of violence would grow, and the extent they would be willing to take that violence to would as well. As she fell to the ground completely spent there was an evil, though satisfied grin on her thin lips.

Naild didn't feel comfortable leaving the palace that night. He saw Rebecca to her room once things were totally cleaned up and then acted like he was going to see himself out. He waited a bit of time and then sat in a chair in the hall opposite Rebecca's room and guarded her door. He managed to stay awake until the wee hours but the prior day eventually claimed him as well and he slumped sideways in the chair and fell asleep.

Early the next morning, before the sun even rose, Morden slipped from the bed and the warm comforting embrace of the one love of his life and went to the kitchen to prepare a hot, hearty breakfast for both of them. He returned about an hour later as the sun peeked through the trees and set the tray on the bed. Leaning to kiss her tenderly he whispered, "Good morning love," As he poured hot, fragrant coffee into a large mug and waved it beneath her face. Lifting the lid off the cloche let the sweet aroma of strawberries, sweet rolls, eggs and bacon join the already enticing aroma of the coffee. He popped a berry into his mouth and waited to see her beautiful eyes flutter open, "You are the most stunning woman I have ever laid eyes on Serena. Even asleep you take my breath away."

Alna was awake early as well. Tossing ingredients into her cauldron one by one as she referenced her guide books and many years of experience. She was more than a little irritated that Morden had managed to keep such a thing from her for so long. How had she not realized who he was? Had he cast that powerful of a spell over all of them that they would not be able to recognize a royal? Physically recognizing him would have been impossible for her, since she'd been blinded long before she ever met any of the royal family, but she was very good with voices and scents. NO, he had used powerful magic...what bothered her was that he had somehow managed to continue to fuel the spell undetected. How was such a feat accomplished? What artifact had he used? She had questions and she intended to have answers before the day gave way to night once more, even if it meant slipping Morden a truth serum.

"You're both welcome, Gavin, Princess Chastianna. I'm glad to have finally met my older brother, and you. See you both in the morning." Rebecca hugged Niald in the kitchen, stacking dishes carefully in cupboards after they'd dried. "I like them.. Can't judge people from where they've lived.... " She answered, smiling. She too felt even closer to Niald from their future timeline encounter. After he escorted her to her room, she kissed him goodnight ....having no idea he stayed in front of her door all night! As soon as she fell asleep, she had horrible nightmares. . Too dark and bloody for her to even wake up from. In the morning, she felt fuzzy, headachey and lightheaded..... Oddly, for such a horrific nightmare, she couldn't remember a thing!

Serena's mind felt more relaxed, and her entire body was at ease. She had slept the night away and felt refreshed the next morning. She noticed that Morden was already awake and kissed him for bringing breakfast in bed! "Thank you sweetheart, and you are the most wonderful, brave, strong, handsome man I've ever had the fortune to meet. I don't know what would have happened to myself or Niald if I kept living a hermit-life." She replied, holding the cup of coffee to her lips and sipping slowly while it cooled. Everything was delicious, and she made sure to eat all of her food. "You really know how to cook, too." She added with a teasing smile. "Are you going to the palace love?" She asked after taking their dishes to the sink. She would wash them later.

Nathan slept in, just a little.. but his own bright eyes soon opened, revealing Alna in the kitchen... brewing some potion or other. He sat up, rubbing tired eyes, and stood to his feet, ambling over to her still in his silver sleeping shirt, and black boxers. "Need help? Are we drugging someone?" He asked, almost teasingly... but he caught that determined look in her eyes.~

Chastianna slept through a night without interruption for the first time in what felt like years. Unlike Rebecca she had no dreams to mar her sleep, or disturb the peace that seemed to encompass her mind. She woke early and indulged herself in another long hot shower. She felt decadent doing so, because she really wasn't in need of a shower, but the warmth and luxury of being clean was simply too overwhelming a temptation to ignore. She went to the closet and opened it expecting to find a simple second garment, but instead she found a completely packed wardrobe full of all sorts of garments in many colors and types of fabrics. The gasp that exploded from her lips was nothing compared to the wide eyed look of total shock on her face. Her hands moved from garment to garment fondling the fabrics like a lover deprived of his one true soulmate for too long. One gown felt softer than the others and she pulled at it to have a better look. it was deep gold with garnet accents and matching ribbon woven through the bodice and down the forearm area of the sleeves. She'd never seen anything so beautiful. She felt like a thief for even touching it, but she could no more keep herself from trying it on than she could from the allure of the hot shower. It fell to the floor and perfectly fit every curve and contour of her figure as if it had been made for her. She looked at her image in the full length gilded mirror and blinked. Was that her? She looked so different. She was about to remove it when she heard a knock on her door. She rushed to answer it, not wanting to keep anyone waiting. She opened the door and chimed 'Good Morning" before she even knew who was there.

Morden gave her a disbelieving look and then kissed her gently. "I will allow that you are only half awake and not in possession of your full faculties in regard to the remark, but I will try to make sure you never have reason to think otherwise." They ate and talked quietly and oth carried things to the kitchen, "I'm glad you like my cooking...I will admit that I only learned in case I would ever have this opportunity." Which was the honest truth, even it if did sound a bit wrong to say it in such a way. he'd longed to change the way things had always been between them far longer than she would ever know, or he'd ever admit. "Yes, I need to meet Sovalna there and speak with Caden and Lauranna about a few things concerning the Glen and Helena." He poured himself another cup of coffee, "And you are gathering herbs today?" he asked thinking he remembered something about that. "Be careful Love," he warned, "There are fierce creatures in this Glen...try to stay close to the house please?"

Alna looked up and there was that determination and a little sheepishness as well, "Um poisoning?...not yet." Later in the day if she didn't get the answers she was searching for..perhaps more drastic measures would be necessary. "I've finished this...I have only now to make my inquiries..." She never inquired aloud, and this was no different but oddly, for the first time in the many years she had been using the cauldron to enhance her second sight it showed her nothing. She used the large wooden paddle to stir the contents and asked again, but again she was given no answer. Shock almost caused her to physically stumble, but she caught herself on a chair. "What darkness is this?" she asked as she turned to him, "We must get to the palace...something is not right."

Varen had been troubled all night by odd violent and hateful dreams. This was particularly disturbing to him, because such was nothing that had ever happened to him in the past. In fact, dreams of any kind were extremely unusual for him. He pulled his armor over his chest and arms and grabbed his spear and shield before heading to the castle. Something deep within his soul was stirring him to action and haste.

Caden was up very early the next morning. He was writing his thoughts into a large journal bound in simple leather. It had been a gift from Morden when he'd agreed to retrieve the lost daughter of Aura. Why had he not felt the need to question Morden about his knowing the whereabouts of Lauranna? Why had he never suspected anything secretive in Morden's behavior? What more would they learn today? Was Helena truly contained now? So many things plagued his mind. So this was what it felt like to be a royal. Constant worries and doubts? Seeing enemies among your closet trusted allies? He head turned to look at Lauranna resting so peacefully. She was a strong woman, but he could see how they would indeed need each other to bring the Glen and their people out from under the villainy of Helena's machinations.

Rebecca took a long shower the next morning; trying to rid herself of the sensation of drowning in dark, murky swamp water, or skeletal hands that had tried to grab her and kill her. She didn't remember the whole dream yet- but there were things painfully clawing their way to the surface. She finished showering, then changed into a pale pink shirt with gold buttons down to the waist, a pair of pale pink jeans, socks, and sneakers completed her outfit. She didn't feel like being fancy today... She felt sorrow, and unexplainable evil reaching out to the entire Glen... She wanted to see Alna... but she didn't want to be a bother.. She knew too, she'd have to be on her own a while, to try and learn her "gift". As she opened the door, Niald's sleeping form startled her- had he been there all night? "You...you dweeb." She sighed, shaking her head in hopeless laughter. "I would have shared my bed, Niald. Come on, wake up... do you want to rest in my room for a bit? That can't have been too comfortable.." She added, smiling. ... Goodness, just the sight of him was always enough to cheer her!

Gavin woke, yawning, stretching, and tumbling out of bed like a ruffled cat. He admired all the fine furniture, enjoyed the huge bed he'd slept in, and admired again, the window- with no scary monsters poking their heads into the glass. He also showered, shaved thoroughly any facial hair; and surprised himself... He hadn't truly looked at his own eyes in decades. There was sorrow in them, yes... but determination, ... maybe a hint of bravery? Well, no time like the present. His eyes were gold and silver. A most unusual shade.... He soon smelled of Irish Spring body-wash and Coconut-Shampoo. Once he'd rinsed off every sud, he soaked up the hot water a minute longer, then dried off using the blow-drier and long fluffy, blue bath towel. He was sinewy, in the mirror- not bulky, but lanky, yet still boasted plenty of muscle in his arms and abs... Huh. His hair was a dark brown that tended to wave when it dried. Strange, not seeing it soaked through with swamp water. He wondered vaguely, if he looked like his and Rebecca's mother or father... hopefully neither. He hoped they were both dead permanently, in any timeline. Shrugging, he finished drying himself, then went to his own closet- quite impressed with the array of tunics, pants, shoes, and even capes, jackets, hats... He shook his head at the hats... not his thing! But he did pick out a soft, comfortable outfit- bright blue shirt, with blue jeans that fit.. ah.. this was comfort beyond -his- imagination! He tied his blue tennishoes securely , then headed out to Chastianna's room, thinking she'd be awake and they could go find breakfast....then maybe a nice walk.. or he'd go straight to the centaurs and ask them for training... the day was young.~

Serena laughed at Morden's comment, knowing he was all modesty. "Tsk... you should know I never compliment lightly." She teased. But she listened to his request for staying close to the house with half an ear.. all her herbs were deep in the woodsy-areas, or close to the populated areas where other people gathered.. "I can't find my good supplies close to the house... but I'll be careful... Hurry back home if you can and I'll make us extra pies... see if you can't pry Niald away for even a few moments... I miss him at the house too..." She added, knowing he'd soon leave their house forever, and wanting to spend more time with him..... When she saw Morden off, she kissed him deeply,. then showered and changed into a bright green blouse with a flowing green skirt, a matching set of sandals, and her long blonde hair tied in a pony-tail to keep it from her eyes. The day was brisk, chilly, and the winds were a bit sharp; but she didn't mind. Gathering basket in one arm, she headed out of the house, having cleaned it thoroughly, then left a note for Niald in case he stopped by-.... and started walking swiftly towards the wooded place in the Glen.... Little did she know, she was being followed. Several men and women left their houses, spotting Serena on her walk. They'd been talking amongst themselves about her and her bizarre family... "Why would such an important man like Morden want an ugly widow like Serena? He could have any one he wants!" One middle- aged woman with dull brown hair to her shoulders, wearing a black shirt and black pants, muttered to her husband. He snorted. "Morden's gone all soft and retarded, since hooking up with that broad.... We should take them down a peg... Let's make Serena remember her place among us." He smiled ,.. .and both of their eyes weren't right... They had deep shadows around their irises... along with the crowds of people that began to gather.... and follow Serena deeper into the forest....~

Jasmine woke the same time as Varen, nudging him with her head, then followed him outside..."We should go to the palace.. but there's other danger somewhere...." She sensed aloud... It was already turning out to be a strange morning, and she didn't like it!

Laurana groaned in her sleep, but woke as the sunlight touched her eyes... She felt hunger, then thirst, so she made them both breakfast so the baby could eat as well. Poor little guy had already been through plenty while she'd been in that swamp! But it was all worth it, finally getting to meet her half-sister, and her companion... "Did you get enough rest, Caden?" She asked, setting his plate of cheesy-scrambled eggs, cup of coffee with hazelnut creamer and sugar, with strips of chewy bacon next to his journal, careful not to jar anything. She still had toussled, messy hair, bright pink as ever sticking everywhere from sleep. She brushed it quickly, then set her plate across from his. They probably had so many things to do that day, she wasn't even sure what to work on first.

Naild heard her voice and jumped up so quickly he almost knocked her over, "Rebecca...sorry..." he said clasping his fingers around her elbows to steady her, "Are you ok? Guess I fell asleep..." he frowned berating himself for not being able to remain alert. He hadn't quite caught her words about sharing her bed, but he probably wouldn't have even had she offered. He did feel like he belonged there, but not until the married. She deserved to be treated with care and respect. He looked back at the chair and stretched a bit, "It wasn't terrible. I'll be fine...I ...wanted to be sure you were safe." He hadn't though and that bothered him. "Is anyone else up and about yet?" he asked as he leaned closer to kiss her cheek, "You look beautiful...as you always do."

Chastianna took in Gavin's attire and then looked down at hers and blushed scarlet. "I um....seem to be very overdressed..." Biting her lip she pulled him into her room. "Sit here while I change? Please?" she asked and then moved behind the wardrobe cabinet and the folding divider that blocked it from view. "How did you sleep?" she called from behind the screen and she grunted and huffed to get the gown off. It had just slid on but seemed far less happy about the reverse process. She had the vague notion that she shouldn't have put this on over her naked newly showered skin, but she kept tugging and wriggling until she had it off and in a heap on the floor in front of her. Gasping in panic she scooped it up and attempted to get it back on the hanger it had been on but there must have been some sort of trick to it because the thing kept falling off the hanger. In the end she laid it gently on the floor of the wardrobe and grabbed a pair of white pants and a bright pink shirt. She pulled on some slipper shoes that felt like soft petals on her feet. She stepped back out from behind the screen and smiled at him, "Sorry about that..." She said a little out of breath and flushed from the fight to get the gown off and hung up. "I don't know about you, but I'm hungry...."

Morden made his way to the palace and saw Varen and Jasmine as he neared. he waved to them and waited until they reached the stairs where he was.

Varen nodded, "A lot is not right." he agreed, "Did you dream last night?" he asked oddly, "Mine were violent and hateful. I rarely dream but they are never thus. Never. Sinister forces are at work. We need to make certain the King and Queen are well and safe." He saw Morden ahead and sped up to meet him, "Have you seen the King and Queen this morning?" he asked hurriedly, "Things are amiss...is all well?"

Caden smiled and ate the food, "I slept well thank you. I didn't feel you tossing about, so I assume you did as well." He leaned closer and kissed her belly, "And you as well little man." He closed the journal and ate as they spoke, "This is going to be an eventful day...promise me you will rest if you need to....the baby needs a healthy Momma!"

Ulna dressed quickly and was muttering under her breath the entire time about bad omens and darkness lurking about in every direction. "We must hurry..." Poor Nathan was being dragged about by a tiny slip of a woman at breakneck speed. They neared the palace, "Morden...you two..we must get inside and speak with everyone..." She looked at Morden, "You feel it don't you?"

MOrden frowned at the four people now gathered with him outside the palace. He hadn't sensed anything, but he'd been so involved with loving his wife that nothign else had been able to penetrate through to his consciousness. Alna's piercing gaze thought shafted light into his mind and he did indeed feel the undercurrent of hostility and venom. "Damnit...she has breached the containment with her magic..."

Rebecca grinned, hugging Niald tightly. "I slept fine... well..okay... bad dreams.. but mostly alright... Next time go home though okay? I worry about your mom sometimes.. I know she has Morden.. .. and he's wonderful to both of you... but.. you should still check on your mother. I like her a lot, so I could always go with you to visit." Something had urged her to speak on Serena's behalf.. the poor woman had gone through a lot because of hateful people in the past. ...and she'd always hated the Fae's pecking order of hierarchy. .. .But then her stomach growled like a wolf..."Well anyway, let's get some breakfast.. I'm sure there's a lot going on today." She added, taking Niald's hand and hurrying them down the hall. She didn't want to think about dreams.~

Gavin just chuckled... "Honestly you look amazing in that dress... Hope I don't look like I'm flashy or stuffy..." He added, uncertain still how to dress his own self! He'd combed his hair, brushed his teeth, and splashed cold water on his face, hoping he looked presentable... However, Chastianna probably looked amazing even in a burlap sack! Though he couldn't tell her that! "I could definitely eat... shall I escort you to the kitchen?" He asked gallantly.

Jasmine waved to Morden as they headed to the Palace. "Hmm... nothing but ocean waves in my dreams.." She shrugged, "But a bad feeling when I woke.." She agreed, glad to be going to the King and Queen... they walked with Morden up the remaining stairs, and you bet that bad feeling was growing worse! Why was something telling her to go to the woods?!

Laurana giggled as Caden kissed her belly, and felt her son moving in response! It almost felt as though a tiny hand were pressing into her belly, to say hi to daddy! She patted her stomach gently. "At ease little man... you'll see us soon. And I'll rest when I need to Caden, but I feel fine today. Plenty of energy-- but we need direction... what should we work on first?" She asked kissing his forehead.

Nathan was running at full-speed, only barely managing to change them both into decent clothes on the way! "Good morning Morden...another eventful day at the Palace I fear..." He added ominously. Something was affecting him, like a shroud of darkness, that he felt- but couldn't pinpoint... Helena... it had to be that crone, starting something from her cell...~

Serena hadn't even seen the villagers following her until she was far enough from safety, gathering herbs, berries, and other plant life, she hummed a little as she worked, keeping her movements light, airy... she looked almost angelic in the bright sunlight. Suddenly, the next moment she glanced up from a tall stalk of morning glories, she was surrounded! "What's wrong ...?" She asked, dropping her basket to the ground. "You. You're completely wrong, Serena. How dare you move on from Robert's memory! If he was alive today, he'd label you a whore! You don't belong in this Glen... " Said Ganna, a bitter, but pretty brunette. Her husband was big, muscular, and just as frown-faced as the others around her... "Robert would have wanted me to find peace! You've all hated me since before we'd even married and we've never done anything to you! It was when he passed away that you all started blaming me for his death in the first place! Now get away from me, all of you! I don't want to be in your company any more than you want me in yours!" She cried, defiantly. She was pushed then, until she fell to her knees. One man hit her with a long branch, several people crowded closer, kicking her back, her legs, aiming for her face until she curled up into a fetal position. She noticed the looks of hate and darkness in each of their eyes... something familiar..... and then the thoughts were lost as a rock smashed against her skull, blinding her with brilliant light at first... until it completely went out. Blinding, nauseating pain filled her whole body, radiating like it's own living sun... She vaguely felt herself screaming, even as she fell unconscious... And heavy, mean hands hauling her over a burly shoulder.. she saw the mob turn completely crazy as they drew plenty of her blood, then carried her far, far away... far from the woods, farther south from her home.... all she could do was sob incoherently ... "Morden.. Morden I'm sorry.. I wasn't strong enough... I can't fight them.... I love you. I love Niald... I love you all.. Good luck....I hope you find peace....." Then, the blackness claimed her just as the sensation of falling through a long, deep hole that was outside of the forest area. The group wanted to bury her alive, but then, seeing her near-lifeless body just lying there, her right arm an unnatural angle, blood gushing from the back of her head... they decided their damage had been done, their societal debt collected for tolerating a worthless Fae-woman this long completed..... All of the villagers laughed and joked about their misdeed all the way back to their houses. And not one of them would ever come forth and tell what had happened to poor, innocent Serena...~

Rebecca meanwhile, felt cold... Her bones all hurt,...somehow everything ached... Tunnel vision hit her hard then, and she almost felt violently sick- but then... her pains passed, as if they'd not been there at all. . . "N-Niald... stop...something -is- wrong... something...,..." She couldn't describe the terrible feelings.....
