The Boar Hat.
The sounds of laughter and indistinct chatter filled the air of the small tavern. Men and women laughing and having a grand time while filling their stomachs with warm food and drink. It wasn't long before one curiously exclaimed, "Hey! Where'd that waitress get off to?" he asked to no one in particular as he wiped some foam from his mustache and lay the now empty cup on the table. A few others chuckled and nodded in agreement, looking at their own low or empty mugs. Not a moment later was there a loud thud that emitted from one of the doors behind the bar being kicked open and roughly banging against the wood. The sound caused a nearby male to abruptly awake from his nap with a startled jump, almost knocking him off the wooden chair he rested upon. He shot an unappreciative glare at the one who had caused the ruckus. Standing in the doorway was a female who stood at least a foot shorter then himself with bright eyes and a charming smile, arms toting a large tray filled to the brim with a variety of different colored spirits. She slipped a hand from under the tray and held up one of the cups as she chimed happily, "Did someone beckon?" The question brought a few low cheers as some raised their hands for her to come over. The waitress made her way across the floor with grace as she set the cups down in front of those with raised hands first, and then dispersed the rest to anyone who didn't already have a cup in front of them. No sooner than the tray was bare did she start filling it back up with the now empty cups from the last round to get washed in the back.
The crimson haired male who she had awoken went just in front of her to hold one of the doors to the back room open as she approached with a mountain of dishes. He made it appoint to give her a glare she couldn't ignore as she walked past and he followed in behind her. She grinned at him playfully as she placed the tray on the counter, leaning her elbows on the counter and resting her head in her hands. He sighed and pulled up a chair, plopping himself into it lazily as he rubbed his eyes. "That's only going to make you more sleepy, you know" she warned as she reached one of her hands over and fixed a part of his hair that was out of place. He let out a low growl and swatted the air around her hand. She only shook her head and took her hand back, wiping it on the small, lace apron that adorned her waist. He only continued to glare at her, his golden eyes fixated on her icy blues. She finally replied with a sigh as she shook her head. "It's the middle of the day." she scolded. He grinned and stood up, now looking down at her "Which is exactly why you shouldn't be going around kicking doors. You know this is when I nap" he teased. "What I know is that you should try doing something in the middle of the day and actually sleep at night." she teased right back as she headed back out into the main room. He stretched and turned his head about, cracking his neck as he muttered to himself, carelessly dragging his feet towards the door that swung behind the girl.
As he entered the room, a new face came in, making his way to the bar, the sunlight coming in behind him took him off guard and stopped him for a moment as the breeze came in and rustled a few posters adorning the walls, knocking on off and onto one of the tables in the corner. Once his eyes adjusted better to the light, he went off behind the bar to tend to the newcomer that seemed to slip by the seemingly ever social and busy waitress. He took a deep breath and flashed a smile to the newcomer as he got settled into the stool. "What can I do for you, friend?" He offered politely, grabbing a cup from under the bar. The man grabbed a small satchel and dug out some coins, placing them on the counter. taking several coins out to place on the counter. "Just something to wet my lips will do just fine" he smiled brightly, accentuating the deep wrinkles of his sun-darkened face. On the other side of the bar, the wanted poster was taken up by a customer who scanned over it curiously, eyes widening as he read the name.. Kofuku, Fox Sin of Greed it read, just below a black and white picture of a young short haired female, a soft grin painted across her lips. He quickly nudged a man to his side, holding up the picture. He only responded by hitting the paper out of his hand. "You know those things are just for show, no one has heard anything about them in years." he turned to another man sitting at their table with an overly confident look on his face. "I doubt they even exist, am I right? Parents just use them to scare their kids into listening." he got up and playfully imitated a mother scolding her child, weight on one him as he wagged his finger and talked with a higher pitch in his voice "Now you better do as I say and go to bed, or the Seven Deadly Sins will come get you" his voice cracked and he laughed, roughly hitting one of the men on the back. They laughed together, but the word spread around the tavern, some mocking along with the man, but some spoke fearfully and curiously, a more serious demeanor to their conversations.
While the waitress seemed to ignore all of the talk as she went back and forth refilling drinks and bringing food cheerfully, the man seemed to fine-tune himself to listen to each conversation. "Sir?" the man at the bar asked nervously, cutting into the barkeeper's thoughts. He turned his gaze to the man who now looked more serious and uncomfortable. "Hm?" "What do you think?" he paused "All that about the Seven Deadly Sins, I mean." He only shrugged and poured the man a drink "I don't think there's any reason to worry. He's right, no one has heard anything about the Sins in years. The last that was heard, there was one wandering around in an old, rusty, beat up set of armor much past it's prime. Some speculate that they're looking for the others, But I think it's a load of crap" he chuckled, subtly lying to the man. It was a rumor, one of the more popular at that, but he did also believe it to be a load of crap. At least people would feel safer thinking they'd be able to recognize one by a loud old clunky piece of crap set of armor, right? The newcomer offered a hesitant smile in return. "I suppose that's likely, after all-" he was interrupted by a loud knocking at the door that seemed to silence the whole tavern. "Who the hell knocks on a tavern-" The male sighed and made his way to the door. "It's an inn, you don't have to-" As he opened the door for the mysterious guest, which was revealed to be, in fact, someone in an old, rusty, beat up set of armor. It stood there for a moment, then fell to the floor, causing a loud commotion, and the rest of the customers to scramble out by any means necessary. "Are you kidding me?" he said, annoyed as he looked down at it. "Well get him to the rest room in the back." the waitress told him.
