Happy Halloween!

I hope you are all having a fang-tastic time. In this season of sweets and creeps, I would like to introduce you to Iwaku's newest spook-tacular event, Two Sentence Horror Stories. This is inspired by the television series and Reddit group of the same name.

To participate in this event is quite simple! As the name suggests, you simply need to post a story in the thread below comprising of two sentences or less, that leaves the reader frightened. The last sentence should be hidden behind a spoiler for an extra chilling reveal. Please feel free to create as many as you'd like!

This event will end on October 31st. All those who participate in this event will receive a special Halloween-themed trophy!

Rules

1. Entries must attempt to tell a story
2. Entries must be two sentences or less.
3. Entries must intend to be scary.
   - Stories that are more sad than horror will not count. (Example: depression, suicide, death of loved one, euthanizing pets, tragic situations.)
   - Inconveniences and annoyances are NOT horror. (Example: No toilet paper, no milk for cereal, stepping on lego and stubbing your toe)
4. Be original
5. Sexual content is not allowed.
6. Use trigger warnings for other topics. (Example: Violence, gore, abuse, substance use, ect.)

I had this dream of two glowing eyes that made me wake in a panic. When I looked around my darkened room, I saw them staring right at me.

"Don't stop moving. If you stop, it'll find us." or alternatively "Don't fall asleep. If you sleep, it'll take you too."

"pshh- yeah, don't worry about it bro! It's abandoned anyways, nothings gonna be there."
Guts and entrails spewed across the wall, wet screams pierced the almost silence of the abandoned hospital, last thing you see is a bloody syringe, before it's carved into your eyes, for the best though- you wouldn't want to see what they're gonna do to you.

The words echoed off the intercom as I opened my eyes slowly, noticing the dark room, the buzz of fluorescent lights almost driving my insane, sadly I'd get to know that buzz, as hell had just begun, seeing a doctor in a white suit approach me I gulped, before screaming in pain as my chest was ripped open by a sharp cold knife, revealing my bloody insides- soon, they'd be removed and replaced, I signed up for this, I deserve this.

petronius tried to pass smoothly from life

by immersing himself in a warm soothing bath

and the light-hearted talk of his friends

while from channels carved along the length

of his wrists by his most treasured slave

crept scarlet lines that, to his surprise,

would not blossom into clouds: instead

the crimson threads twisted into braids

ever thickening and ever extending

up the walls of the tub then down to the floor

and soon he found himself lifted up

above the heads of his companions, past

the guards that stood before the curtain

of his tablinum, and out the door

onto the streets of rome by twelve moist

and rusty tentacles that moved

in perfect harmony according to

the will of those divines his death offended,

he was sure. by the tenth hour he climbed

up oppian hill while half the city

thronged to watch the man who sang

as their houses burned get thrashed

by this red child of echidna bound

to what should have been a corpse, only petronius

screamed, "i will not! i will not!

of what i was accused, please, let me die

The husband clothed himself in his nightrobes and quietly walked to his bed.
