Morrigan & Juniper

Morrigan seemed to welcome this morning more blissfully than her other peers that were suffering from hangovers. Breezing out of bed at the early hours of the morning after finally hearing a word from Juniper of her return. It seemed to stir a gitty excitement in the young woman. How she missed her like-minded companion. Hogwarts without her was almost inseparable because it was hard to enjoy hexing someone when there wasn’t someone there to laugh with her.

So, when news finally came of her return from undisclosed business in name of their Dark Lord’s cause. Morrigan waiting on the edge of the Forbidden Forest excitably. Her general attire was the normal dark garb. A black cloak draped over here shoulders to stop the Autumn breeze from sending a chill through her body. Long black turtleneck top and high waisted black pants that showed off her slimming figure. Fitting black gloves warmed her hands as she waited ever so patiently.

Her gaze drifting along the edge of the Forbidden a Forest with her infamous glare, waiting to see a figure she found familiar.

Juniper found herself having a rare moment of excitement, as she strolled along the edge of the forest. Morrigan Quinn, one of the few people she actually enjoyed being around, whom also happened to be the one person her aunt despised most. Juniper had always enjoyed getting beneath her aunt skin and making her rage.

She tugged on the end of her sleeves as her cool aqua eyes scanned through the trees, at last catching a glimpse of dark clothes and a fluttering cloak. She eased beneath a hanging branch. “You didn't need to get all dressed up to greet me,” she said cooly, humour glittering in her eyes.

Morrigan felt her features softened looking towards the other girl. A sly smirk finding its way onto her cheek as she wandered over to the other girl. Pulling her into a hidden embrace her cloak enveloping the two of them at that moment. The darkness of the forest even helped hide their interactions. “I don’t dress up for anyone but myself,” Morrigan concluded with a teasing cock of her brow.

Juniper pressed into her warmth, her white button up and form-fitting black pants doing little to warm her form. “Mhm, I suppose I should be grateful you have some taste at least,” she purred.

“Excellent taste,” Mori smirked in a rather satisfied manner.

She rolled her eyes in amusement as she slid her hands around the other girl's waist. “Indeed,” she said, with a small smirk of amusement. “Are you quite finished admiring yourself or should I come back later?”

“Why would I be admiring myself when I have you?” She teased, returning the respective jests and banter. “To admire me,” Morrigan cocked her brow lightly laughing lightly.

Juniper released an amused snort and a shake of her head. “Consider yourself thoroughly admired,” she said with a smirk as she tugged her closer. “I find myself interest elsewhere.” With that, she pressed a warm kiss the girl's lips.

Morrigan was taken aback by the sudden kiss, but she happily returned it. Wrapping her arms comfortably around the girl’s midsection for support. Pulling back after a mere moment, Mori smirked looking down at the woman. Tucking a stray hair behind her right ear, “That glad to be back at Hogwarts, eh?” The Slytherin suggested in a teasing tone of voice. It had pressed Morrigan that she hadn’t heard news of Juniper’s mission just yet. “How did you go with your mission for the Dark Lord?” She asked in a curious tone.

Juniper released a sigh as she drew back a little further, thinking back to the work she'd previously completed. “I gained the information required my aunt has informed me that its been quite helpful.” She eyed the girl before her. “The Dark Lord is pleased.”

“Trust your aunt to keep you informed,” Morrigan rolled her eyes in regards to the mere mention of the woman. “Gaunt is a Parselmouth, that’s the reason I spared her. I wanted to confirm it because the old man spoke in Parsel before his death, I wanted to see if she was… Could mean to open the Chamber of Secrets as the Dark Lord wished originally,” she said with an informative manner. “Care to assist with the endeavours ahead?” Mor asked her counterpart in a charming tone of voice.

“But enough of that for now, shall we head inside? It’s awfully chilly outside,” Morrigan drew back, before pulling Juniper into a searing kiss. Before pulling back with a light smirk, and satisfied gaze over her slightly shorter secret love.

Juniper was intrigued by the new information she was receiving, she hadn't been told any of this beforehand. “You needn't even ask, I'd be more then happy to assist.”

She melted into that kiss, pleasantly surprised by the sudden affection. “We best get moving before I change my mind about going up,” she said teasingly, a smirk tugging at her lips as she pulled herself away from the temptation before her.

With that, the pair made their way back towards Hogwarts to the vast indulgence of a perfectly cooked and warmed breakfast. It offered to add some delight with the publishing of the morning's hand being in many hands by the time they arrive.

Deborah Johnson
SEVENTH YEAR RAVENCLAW
Speak of the devil.

At the sound of Annie's voice, Debbie looked up from her plate with a rehearsed smile.

"Hi," she greeted back cheerfully.

Something in her face must have given her true emotions away, however, because Annie didn't seem all too convinced. As always, the Head Girl was overbearingly polite. Pretentious in a way that Debbie had always found annoying. Now, it was unbearable.

The smile on her face felt strained. She could feel the edges of her mouth falter as she remembered the newspaper. Rory had a way of sensationalizing things, but they usually had a grain of truth in them. Debbie knew that much.

"What are you talking about? I'm fine," Debbie said, steel scraping against porcelain as she poked a fork through her bacon. The grating sound seemed almost intentional. Debbie's voice, meanwhile, remained positively level.

"I'm perfectly fine. Why wouldn't I be?" She shoved the forkful into her mouth with a force that could have knocked her teeth off, "Have you seen the papers yet? You're all over it."

She grabbed the newspaper next to her, all but nearly slamming it in front of Annie. A bit of tea spilled from the cup.

"Oops," Debbie laughed shrilly, "I think I might be a little jittery today. I wonder why."

Jasper & Cyrus

Jasper felt a small, stab of guilt for placing that tray in Joan's grasp. Seeing the angry red head storm right at them, towards an innocent Joan. He didn't even get the chance to think about stepping in and defuse the situation, the first punch having already been thrown.

He caught the back of his sisters shirt before she could even think to jump in and join her friend in what would definitely be a beating.

Cyrus grew pale in the face the moment a punch landed on Joan’s jaw, and before she could scramble to help her roommate and friend. Her brother had swiftly caught her flannel in the grip of his fist. “Jas! Let me go now!” The youngest of the pair exclaimed tugging and struggling at her brother’s iron grip. Something that always made fights and getting away as a kid extremely frustrating.

“No, your fists won't make this better,” he hissed, tightening his grip on her shirt and giving her a little shake. Actually, he was quite tempted to pick up that fallen tray and hit the redhead with it, but taking his own advice refrained, knowing the girl would just blow up more.

“I wasn’t thinking of my fists,” Cyrus yelled at her brother reaching across to her wand that rested on the table at their side. “Hit her with a spell that won’t let her move so I can get Joan out of here,” she rolled her eyes. “That was my plan dickhead,” she commented removing her eucalyptus wand from its protective case and inhaled swiftly.

“If you think you’re going to stop me I’ll cripple you brother,” Rus promised her big brother staring at him holding a moment seriousness as the importance of defending and helping out her mate shone through her stubborn personality.

Jasper rolled his eyes. “That's hardly any better,” He grumbled to her. He narrowed his eyes at her and her damned stubbornness. He did however loosen his grip and it wasn't out of fear for being crippled, which he didn't doubt she meant. He finally released her completely with an annoyed scowl. “Go ahead, feed the fire.”

“You’re the one who shoved the tray into her hands! So don’t you start on me feedin’ the fire, I’m helping a mate. For fuck sake, why did you have to give it to Joan of all people?” She hissed towards her brother looking at her friend with concern in her cinder brown eyes. Biting her lip hard when she saw the blood from Joan’s wounds, Cyrus couldn’t help but truly notice her blood boiling.

Grip fastening into her knuckles at her side, her wand clenched tightly in her left casting hand. Whipping her head over her shoulder to glare at her brother, before she casted a spell on him to ground him in place. “Because you’d be a pain in the arse if you got in the way,” Cyrus announced before pulling herself up onto the table climbing over all the plates dashing to Joan to lend some aid. It was then that she noticed that Sang Faust was in a state she’d never seen the girl in before.

Drawing her wand back before making the sharp gestured spell, Cyrus yelled her stunning spell to the bewildering redhead. “Stupefy!” She exclaimed in a thunderous tone. The spell seemed to have worked rather effective, but the Australian took little to no interesting in the friend who her hurt her friend. Only wandering over to lend some assistance to the girl she knew pretty well. Joan Lambert.

Making haste with scooping the girl half her height into her arm, before walking over the Faust girl out through the massive doors. Not daring to bother with her brother at that moment because Ivar had made himself known. The ghostly boy had grabbed Jasper by the scruff of the collar and dragged him over to the Ravenclaw table to ensure he wasn’t going to follow his sister.

Jasper was in a foul mood as Ivar pulled him away. Which was a good thing because he was tempted to kick his sister in the ass. He didn't even care that she'd blamed him for getting her friend into the mess, it was technically since he hadn't paid any mind to who was walking by at the time. No, he was pissed off with the fact she'd spelled him into place! “That little brat!” he growled to Ivar, dropping down beside him.

Meanwhile Cyrus had settled Joan down outside of the hospital wing, offering a small sigh. “Hey, Jo,” she spoke lightly to her friend offering a concerned expression. “I’ll get you to the hospital wing, but try stay awake… I know she got you good, and I promise she’ll get it back a thousand times worse now,” Rus said in an reassuring manner, stretching her arms that ached bitterly. It was after a moment of stretches she once more lifted the girl up once more. Making a mental promise to herself to ensure that Sanguine would suffer for this.

Anastasia Fiztgerald
Seventh Year, Ravenclaw

The falseness behind Deborah’s smile back caused Anastasia to frown. It annoyed her that her peer and someone she had considered a friend was now so hostile or bitter. For a moment Annie wondered if it hurt the Ravenclaw to smile like that. After all, the smile looked so badly strained and the muscles in her cheeks seemed to tug uncomfortably.

At the protest about how she was feeling, Annie cocked a little brow. Before stirring her tea with a spoon. “I don’t know Deborah, you’ve been a bit rigid since the events of on the train. Maybe even more so the first supper in the Great Hall.” She admitted, apparently her patience was rather thin. Annie was never one that enjoyed pussy-footing around topics.

When the remark about the paper was dropped, Fitzgerald felt her morning reflux begin to burn at the back of her throat. Could this possibly why you’re acting this way? She asked herself looking to the fellow Ravenclaw that she had regarded as a friend for such a long time. There had always been a rivalry that Anastasia held no interest in competing in, but she knew Johnson was different. She was an extremely competitive person and that tested the new Head Girl on several occasions.

She scrunched her nose up in annoyance at the sudden mess made when the newspaper was slapped down onto the table. Her brow twitched lightly cleaning the spillage on the table, before flicking her gaze to the front page of the infamous Grapevine. “So, escorting a boy to get cleaned up and put to bed after being sick, makes me unqualified in Thomson’s eyes, huh?” Annie commented in a bitter tone of voice.

“Suppose you tend to agree with the points from the paper though?” The Head Girl asked the girl before her. Her gaze was hardened clearly irritated by the events of the night before. She couldn’t seem to get the smell of sour wine and chocolate out of her nostrils, it was a sickeningly sweet smell. Something that reminded her of the sweet fifth-year she helped the night before, but that wasn’t the point.

“So, is it because of the paper that you’re so jittery today?” Ana asked with an increasing look of irritation. Waiting ever so patiently for her roommate's response.

The uneventfulness of his stroll to the Great Hall seemed to end upon entering the two-big door. A pair of Gryffindor girls came through in a hurry- Joan and Cyrus. They were seventh year students in his Quidditch team. Both looked a little worse for wear, though Lambert took the cake in Pedro’s eyes.

Holding Nibbles close he didn’t dare lose the bloody nose-picker. He knew what kind of state his owner would be in that present moment. Pedro had often recalled how happily she studied away during their club activities. So, he thought it would be wise to get the rainbow Puffskein back to Ryeland before she went bald with worry.

He quietly walked over towards the Hufflepuff table, trying to find a familiar face. Even if it was the likes of Henry Chen. Rubbing her blackened jaw, a spot left by Joan Lambert the night before after throwing an insult to the stupid guy that Carrot Top liked. Scanning the crowd his eyes finally fell upon the boy who would possibly be his only hope at locating the two Hufflepuff girls and he was with another member of the Newspaper Club, Rosa.

For a moment he stood blankly staring at the two debating on if he should go near them. It seemed intense, and heaven knows that Rosa wasn’t a morning person. So, that was the final decider for him. “We better not,” Pedro mumbled to the Puffskein in his arms. Turning on his heels and heading back towards his house table for something to eat until Piper arrived.

Rowan the Toad - NPC, Piper Ryeland - Winterswing Winterswing

Lauren Harrison looked to her friend with a concerned expression. Her effects of comforting Piper were continuous, hoping that it would make her feel better with time. The other Hufflepuff pouted when the news of the missing Puffskein finally came out. “Hey, don’t pick on yourself? We’ll find him,” the redhead said soothingly.

“How about we take a few breaths,”
Lauren suggested, “Then we can get up get dressed, go have some breakfast. With a little bit of food, it might help us with looking for him. I think he’ll be fine, he’s quite an independent little guy.” She spoke assertively, carefully getting to her feet. Feeling the light morning pop in her bone due to the light chill in their room. Guiding Piper into a standing position before wandering over to Piper’s luggage digging around for some comfortable clothing.

“Come on, Piper. Breakfast, then we can come back and look around with a little more energy.” Lauren said handing her some clothing and comfortable ones at that. Before shifting over to her luggage to get her own clothes. Picking up the rather sad looking Rowan at the door before propping him down on the bed.

The toad let out a sad croak the moment he was rested back on the mattress. Rowan seemed to turn away when he knew both the girls were dressing.

Lauren dressed in a comfortable wool sweat and woven fabric skirt. Black stocking to help keep the morning’s chill out. “Come on Pip, we might even find Nibbles if we got out of here,” she encouraged sweetly. Showing her friend toward the door, and out of the dorm.

Sanguine seemed to snap from her blinding rage when red fell from the other’s lips as she stared with a dazed, wide-eyed look. It felt as if her heart stilled in her chest briefly as she let her gaze drift to the floor where Joan had spat out the blood filling her mouth. It was not bloodlust that stilled her but shock at her actions. Fear. A sharp, almost hissing intake of breath was the only noise from the half-vampire as she feared to remove her gaze from the floor – she dared not to anyway. Her lips were parted but no words formed as her mind was far from focused on Joan or anyone else in the hall.

What had she done? Though unresponsive physically her heart had begun to beat erratically in her chest, sweat covering her palms as her nails began to dig deeply into her own flesh. Past calls of monster were recalled and Sanguine was beginning to drown under the guilt that so quickly plagued her. Her anger faded till emptiness and the heavy weight of guilt remained. Why had she not held back or kept some semblance of control as she normally did? She was quick to anger, that she would not deny but she had lost it surely this time and allowed that veil of red to swallow her up and leave an instinct to fight behind.

Her chest heaved as her gaze slid up to Joan momentarily and she noted what she had done. Sanguine watched the older Gryffindor hold her jaw in pain and the weight that seemed to settle in her chest got heavier. She was never one to be able to hide her emotions properly or even lie effectively. Her emotions were always an open book and right now she looked purely horrified as she watched Joan, fear having encased her usually vibrant green eyes, her skin seeming almost paler with each passing breath she took.

She was panicking.

Guilt that she had hurt Joan. Fear that the other would become aware of what she was. Sanguine, despite her almost rivalry with the other, did not dislike her. She seemed to tremble slightly as she continued to remain stunned by this all – at least until Sanguine heard the cry of a spell that quickly hit her. Sanguine was left in a daze as she collapsed onto the floor, something that had her reaching up to press a hand to her head as it had hit the ground. Dazed, Sanguine stared for a short while at the ceiling above, thoughts drifting. Though being spelled irritated her, Sanguine showed no sign of rage or anger. Her thoughts only confirmed that she deserved it after all.

Shortly after Joan had been taken by Cyrus, Sanguine slowly gathered herself to her feet with a small sway. The daze was slowly fading as Sanguine looked at the nearby students that stared in curiosity at her. Where normally she would have them turning away as she erupted in anger, spewing promises of harm, Sanguine simply twisted on her spot and headed to the doors to leave. She couldn’t even muster a slither of rage with the weight of her current, torrenting emotions. Gritting her teeth, her arms folding over each other so nails to bite into the flesh of her upper arms, Sanguine headed out to search for either of the two she held dearest as tears threatened to fall from the corner of her eyes.

What the hell had she done?

Joan Lambert
SEVENTH YEAR GRYFFINDOR

Before Joan could even think to defend herself, Cyrus stepped in and put an end to the fight before it could get worse. The spell immobilized Sanguine at once, but Joan's humiliation didn't end there.

"I'm not fucking disabled! I'm just bleeding," Joan protested, swinging an arm and trying to wriggle her way out of Cyrus' grasp. But it was all in vain. Despite her protests, it wasn't until they had finally reached the infirmary that Cyrus let her down.

Joan gave an exasperated sigh as the other girl leaned over and began a long, dramatic spiel. When it was finally over, all Joan could do was roll her eyes.

"Are you done?" She replied, sounding tired as she pushed herself back up to her feet. "I'm fine. I'm not dead, for fuck's sake. It's just a scratch."

She faced the doors and gave it an angry shove before letting herself in.

"Oh, and I guess thanks or whatever," she muttered before slamming the door in Cyrus' face.

Leontios regretted his decisions when he awoke the next morning. His head pounded, bile burned his throat all the while he was curled up on crumpled sheets, the palm of his hand digging harshly into his forehead as if the extra pain would get rid of the headache. Bleary blue eyes blinked open with a groan of pain as the morning light seemed to burn them, forcing him to slam them shut and pressed his other hand over them. It was clear from the second his consciousness awoke that last night as a massive mistake he would not make again.

Probably.

It took him long after his roommates left to drag himself up to sit, brown hair a mess upon his head as he yawned tiredly. He moved slow, each movement sluggish and tired as he stumbled over to his chest to retrieve some clothes before heading to the bathroom to shower and get ready – to throw up as well. Strangely, Leo felt as if he had forgotten something as he was leaning against the sink, hand to his lips as he tried desperately not to puke.

A while later he stepped slowly from the bathroom, clothed in a plain dark red t-shirt and jeans, his house cloak thrown on top as he put all his stuff away before leaving the dorms. He left with an exhausted expression on his face, hair slightly damp and poor posture. He was clearly hungover – or unwell, though that would only be an explanation to anyone, not present last night. Despite his discomfort, the wizard headed to the great hall for food. He was practically running on empty! Leo felt as if he had lost everything in his stomach though he remembered eating well at the party…

Shaking his head, he headed into the great hall and went straight away to the Gryffindor table. It didn’t take him long to find an empty seat near someone recognizable. Pedro. Heading over he dropped himself exhaustedly onto the bench, seating him opposite Pedro. His elbows were quickly propped up onto the table as he buried his face into his hands, a pained groan parting from his lips when the chatter around them only added to his growing headache.

“I think I’ve been put off parties forever man….” He grumbled, running one of his hands against his face as the other dropped to the table, his cheek squashed against his hand along with his fingers covered one of his barely open eyes. “I don’t even think I remember much! I remember a bit but then…Bam! Blur! All of it…. Anyway, How are you, Pedro?"

  ALISTAIR BLACKBOURNE

After a short exchange with Echo, Rory finally took the hint and left them be. Alistair did not spare the boy a single glance. Instead, he kept his gaze pinned on his fiancée, who had been laughing. What it was that she found so funny about this situation, Alistair did not know. He waited until she had her fill. Before long, all sign of sardonic humor left her face, and her eyes lit up with a fire he had never seen before.

The words that came out of her mouth next were enough to turn heads, if Alistair's words hadn't already done the trick before. Her voice seemed to be rising, anger ringing audibly with every spiteful word. Her accusations sunk deep into him like poisoned claws. He did not like the way she raised her voice. He did not like the way she spoke back to him.

The woman had no place, no right.

Ego bruised, Alistair raised his chin and looked down on her, his headache worsening with each passing second. It was hard to tell what he was thinking from the look on his face alone, but his blazing eyes gave his true emotions away.

"I don't have the faintest clue what you're talking about. The rumors are false," he spoke, voice surprisingly aloof in contrast to hers. There was no evidence, nothing that could prove that his one-night-stand with Percy had actually happened. He was determined to crush the rumors even if it meant lying to his own fiancée. He could almost believe his own lie as he said it. "Lower your voice and calm down. It isn't becoming of a lady."

"Okay..." Piper mumbled, looking around their room, somewhat helplessly. She really did hope Lauren was right and that they would find her precious Nibbles. She'd rather that outcome then the hundreds or terrible ones running through her mind. She accepted the other girls help in getting to her feet, feeling nauseated by the thought of eating when she still didn't know her Puffskein's fate.

"Yeah...he is..." She agreed, still feeling somewhat sad. She'd much rather him ruffling around in her hair, then going off on his own into the hands of danger. She clenched her fists, shaking her head and tucking away those thoughts as she accepted her clothes from Lauren. Food then looking...easy enough, just focus on that, she thought to herself. Who was she kidding, she couldn't just stop thinking about him, the quicker she got down and ate breakfast the faster she could get back to looking.

She changed out of her comfy sleeping attire, into the comfortable clothing Lauren had picked out for her; long, dark blue, pants with a bright yellow shirt. She brushed out her hair roughly before picking up her coat and quickly going out the door, eager to take the opportunity to check for Nibbles while they were out. "Be back in a bit everyone," She said sweetly into their room, before letting her friend lead her to the Great Hall. "I really hope his okay," She mumbled softly to herself.

I am not an idiot Alistair.” She said lowly and full of anger. She stepped closer to him her anger boiling. She grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and brought him down to her level as she leaned into his ear. “Are you that dimwitted to forget I share a room with her. I saw what covered the majority of her upper body Alistair Blackbourne. Do not think me a simpleton. I know more than snogging happened after exiting that bloody party.” She whispered lowly in his ears with an angry hiss before she released him.

She made sure to whisper in his ear so others wouldn’t hear that she knew of an indiscretion worse than the papers put out. She was extremely careful with that. “Do not ever insult me in that way again. I am a lady. I raise my voice when one decides to be a prick and lie to me. I may be a woman and your fiance, but I deserve a bit of respect for not shouting what I just whispered to you.“ Echo stepped back and crossed her arms over her chest. “Do not lie to me Alistair. Please do not.

Deborah Johnson
SEVENTH YEAR RAVENCLAW
Debbie had been scooping up another forkful when Annie's words caused her to go rigid. Hand paused mid-air, she flicked her eyes over to the girl in front of her.

"I never said anything like that," she leaned away from the table, looking at Annie in disbelief. Deep inside, some part of her was well-aware of her conflicting feelings, of how the article had disturbed her somewhat. And yet she was still convinced she had done nothing wrong. She had never accused Annie of anything. In fact, she had tried to seem civil all this time. So why was Annie coming to her now with all these accusations? Debbie's true intentions were irrelevant. The fact that anyone would dare assume the worst about her when she had barely done anything yet annoyed her. So much for Annie being polite. Had it all just been an act?

"I can't believe you. Why are you suddenly talking to me like this?" Debbie crossed her arms over her chest, "Is that how you think of me? Really?"

Oliver Whitefang
raw - jim williams
All these long years, Oliver had kept himself distanced from everyone except Sang and Liz. His childhood experiences had been enough to traumatize him, enough to keep him from interacting with anyone else that was not one of his kind. What was it about this girl that made him want to reveal his true nature? Had it been a long time coming? Had he finally had enough of hiding? She seemed trustworthy enough. Surely nothing would go wrong if he were to tell one other person.

"Aaaaah," Oliver covered his face with both hands when she mentioned the marks. He peeked through the gaps between his fingers as she continued her explanation.

"Alright," he said, glad for the shade of the trees and the lack of people around, "Well... my name already gives you some sort of hint. I'm sorry about last night. I couldn't handle the thirst anymore, though of course that's a poor excuse for doing what I did."

He hoped this wasn't a mistake.
